[attr="class","Vgentemptitle222"]BATTLE TRAIN SIGN UPS
[attr="class","Vgentempdiv"]
So, you're going to challenge the Battle Train. Think you're up to the task? Take this pamphlet and give it a read. All the need-to-know information is stored inside. You only got one shot, so you better come prepared. Boarding starts at 6pm, so come with your friends and have your tickets at the ready. Please post in this thread to register threads that take place on the Magnet Train.
To commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Magnet Train, the legendary Subway Bosses from Unova have promised to make an appearance. With their arrival comes the promise of something that has never been done in Johto–something that is exclusive to the night of the festival. Rumors began to circulate the moment the news was announced... and the Magnet Train was shut down as it underwent strange modifications for the festival.
When the truth was revealed, tickets to the festival sold out. Just as people suspected, the Magnet Train had been altered. Special cars were designed to match the durability and sturdiness of the Subway Trains from Unova–these additions meant that the Magnet Train could now host Pokemon Battles, if only for a single night.
As some of the most renown enthusiasts of all things that involve trains and battling, the brothers Kudari and Nobori have promised the Trainers of the Johto a chance to experience the Battle Train for themselves–for one night only. Test your mettle and try to overcome the challenges that await you. Ride in a train that moves faster than you can comprehend as it zips along the track from Johto to Kanto, all in the blink of an eye as battles unfold around you!
For those that fail the challenge, kick back and enjoy the ride. The train will pull back into Kogane right as the festival ends at 6am.
Before entering the Battle Train, all challengers should know that each cabin will host its own battle. These battles must be completed before teams can proceed to the next cabin. These battles will be held in either a duo or triple battle format, depending on the size of the group. There is also a possibility for inverse and rotation battles to occur.
Each trainer battle can be treated as if it were an encounter in a wild thread, meaning it is possible to resolve a battle with one round of combat with one exception. If a trio were to battle a trainer that possesses six pokemon, then they will combat the first three, and upon completion, the mod will provide the next batch of pokemon. This means it would take (a minimum) of two rounds of posts to overcome the trainer. The same applies to duos who encounter trainers with four pokemon.
Word counts also apply.
As trainers progress through the Battle Train, they should be aware of the CHALLENGES that can occur. The Subway Bosses are monitoring all teams from the Driver's Compartment. Sometimes, they get bored. At any point, they can speak over the intercom and initiate a challenge for the trainers to accept. These challenges can often make battles far harder than they have to be, but completing them can grant additional rewards when the battle is concluded. They are all optional.
People are allowed the challenge the Battle Train in groups of TWO TO THREE. In these groups, all trainers are allowed to bring three pokemon. These three pokemon will be gifted with inhibitors/enablers that will bring them to level 30, with all of their known moves. Passengers are scanned prior to the challenge to ensure that these conditions are met and that no items are brought onto the train. All potions, pokeballs, and other accessories will be returned upon challenge completion.
As you continue from battle to battle, please record the health of your pokemon in a spoiler/note section of your post. While the event will proceed similarly to the wild threads that we are all familiar with, completion of challenges and battles will take a toll on the health of your team. Please keep this in mind.
Challengers will go through a [REDACTED] number of combat rounds before the finale. When the finale is activated, the legendary Subway Bosses will make their appearance in your thread. Prepare yourselves, a battle against these twins is not for the faint of heart. They'll do their best to foil your progress.
Only one character can take on the Subway challenge, so choose wisely! If you have multiple characters, one is allowed to pick the train while the others can enjoy the festival. All challenges for the Magnet Train must have the [TRAIN] tag in the thread title.
