POKEMON. Pokemon from Generation I to VII (Kanto to Alola), w can be discovered in Johto. When hunting for Pokemon, you'll notice that each Route and major location tends to spawn only one or two types of Pokemon. However, with the changing seasons and various things happening, these encounters can change drastically. For this reason, if you're hunting for a specific sort of Pokemon, it's best to look at other recent threads in your area of interest to be sure the type you're looking for is still spawning there. Another good rule of thumb is to stay up to date with any news announcements around the forum, as they tend to hint at the most drastic changes in Pokemon spawns. Remember that some species are more common than others, and some species are also easier to catch than others. Some species also only appear during a certain time of day or weather.
[break][break]
The level of Pokemon you encounter will correspond to the average level of your current team.
[break][break]
STARTER. Your starter pokemon is your character's pokemon that you join the site with, and is different via Player Groups. The history between your character and its starter is completely up to you, however, each starter starts at level five. You're permitted to give it whatever gender or ability you see fit excluding hidden abilities.
[break][break]
Alongside this, your starter begins its moveset with whatever four moves it can naturally learn, regardless of level. You want to give your Turtwig Leafstorm? That's all you! This However, it must stay within its naturally learned moveset of its species. Meaning, you cannot give it a TM or Tutor Move without purchasing the items first. And your Turtwig cannot know a move it'd only learn as a Torterra. Starter pokemon may have one egg move at creation.
[break][break]
ENCOUNTERING POKEMON. Of course, aside from your starter pokemon, you'll have others - the majority of which'll likely be caught via [WILD] threads. On Victory, you're allowed to have a wild thread in any location you see fit - from the various towns/city to, most commonly, routes.
[break][break]
Each character is allowed to have one solo [WILD] thread per week. You're allowed an unlimited amount of social/duo [WILD] threads. Social [WILD] threads must be done with at least one other thread partner and could lead to bonus rewards in the end or during the thread.
[break][break]
In solo [WILD] threads, you have the ability to reroll for a different pokemon twice after the initial spawn, giving you a total of three wild pokemon for spawns. You may battle these pokemon for levels, or catch these pokemon, or simply flee from them. However, the wild thread is immediately ended when/if you decide to catch a pokemon. Meaning, if you catch a pokemon on your first spawn, your wild thread is done and you will be given rewards.
[break][break]
In double [WILD] threads, it's generally the same. However, altogether, 6 wild pokemon, at a max, can be generated - granted no one captures any! If one character captures a Pokemon while there are spawns still left, the other character will continue to have spawns generated for them until they run out.We leave it up to the two players in the thread to settle any dispute over who catches, or battles, what pokemon.
Thanks to wild duos being unlimited, a wild thread may continue even when all rerolls/spawns are done. Meaning, once the three spawns are made/captured and the rewards for said wild is given, you may submit the thread to do three more spawns indefinitely until you and your partner end the thread. Keep in mind of your pokemon's health though! They may not be able to handle a wild thread that lasts for four pages! Of course, the health of your Pokemon after every battle is up to you but we asks that writers be realistic about the state of their Pokemon.
[break][break]
Wild pokemon levels are generated at the average level of your team. Please note that this average may vary based on the mod spawning you your pokemon. In double wilds, both pokemon generated will be at the average level of the weaker trainer's team. The only exception is if the weaker trainer captures a pokemon, and their partner still has spawns left. The wild pokemon will then be generated around that trainer's team's average level. Alternatively, you may request for higher level spawns for your higher-leveled partner. Alternatively, you may request lower level spawns for yourself, just be sure to specify the level range you'd like them to be spawned at.
[break][break]
At the end of [WILD] threads, you will be given a bit of poke, Victory's currency, as well as items. These items and money amount may vary based on a number of different things (thread location, trainer class, player group, overall effort of the thread, etc). In double wild threads, items/money received is given separately and not split. Meaning, you won't have to argue over who gets what.
[break][break]
Ongoing wild threads do not rollover. Meaning, if you started your solo thread last week on Thursday but didn't finish till this week on Wednesday, it does not take the slot of your solo [WILD] thread of this week. You cannot, however, do your next solo until you complete the other thread. Completely missing your solo slot does not count though. If you fail to make a wild thread from this week, be it because you couldn't via you had to complete another wild from the previous week or other/different reasons, you cannot reclaim the slot - its gone forever.
[break][break]
Wild threads slots will refresh/restart every Monday.
[break][break]
All solo wild thread posts must be at a minimum of 300 words, regardless of whether your capturing or battling.
[break][break]
Alternatively, you may also visit the Safari Zone to find rarer pokemon, it operates on the same system.
CAPTURING. Players may only catch ONE pokemon per [WILD] thread, as soon as the pokemon is caught, be it first or third, the wild thread will end. Solo [WILD] threads have a 300 word count requirement as the player details how he/she interacts with the wild pokemon they encounter. A capture attempt will automatically fail should a post be under that amount. A capture attempt may also fail if little effort is placed forward or any other unfavorable conditions are noticed - we encourage you to try your best! You may capture your pokemon via friendship or otherwise, but, it should make sense!
