It didn't take long for the pair to find their first pokemon - the common cave dweller known as Zubat. A swarm would fly overhead, disturbed by the entrance of the duo. Their loud shrill calls echoed painfully though the mouth of the cave and Sable found herself wincing as the sound hurt her ears.

<"Such noisy things."> Came the annoyed telepathic comment from Zobiris as she waved her hands overhead as if to shoo away the bothersome pokemon.

"Quite." Sable found herself agreeing as she looked up at the mass of blue bodies that seemed to create the ceiling of the cave about them. "I should have expected to run into Zubats instead of ghost type." 

<"Or perhaps a giant dragon that eats little girls...?"> Zobiris would tease playfully as she floated on ahead, trying to ignore the horde above them. That of course would prove difficult as one particular Zubat would descend from above and hover inches in front of Zobiris, effectively stopping the ghost type. Zubat would talk quickly and pointedly and Sable waited for her pokemon to translate the high pitched chatter.

<"Says there's a toll to pay to keep going."> Zobiris explained, turning her head to roll the gems that served as her eyes towards Sable.

A smirk crossed the petite girl's lips. "Is there now Zobiris? Shall we pay the good pokemon~ In a shadow claw!" Sable commanded, pointing towards the offending Zubat.

<"But of course, dear."> Zobiris replied, a wicked grin crossing her face as she unleashed the attack. The quick attack would knock the expectant Zubat from the air, eliciting an ear splitting screech as he hit the ground.

Sable clasped her hands over her ears and flinched. God, how she hated these insolent pokemon. She would run across them rather frequently in her trade as she crawled into the attics of old houses to banish the spirits from within. They were nothing but trouble, always.

As if to prove that thought true the Zubat quickly got off the ground and back into the sky, sinking his teeth in Zobiris' flesh and using leech life. "Use confuse ray." Sable ordered, watching in disdain as her opponent sucked at the very life force of her companion.

Zobiris did as she was told, the confuse ray smacking into the Zubat and knocking it off her. The Zubat flailed as if it was dizzy, flapping his wings erratically before falling from the air and hurting itself on the ground below.

"Finish it Zobiris." Sable said cooly, turning her eyes away from her pokemon and looking down the path they would take when they finished here. Zobiris would do as she was told, using a shadow claw to finish off the poison type before rejoining her trainer by her side.

As the pair continued deeper into the cave they would come across what seemed to be fallen rocks in the path. With a sigh Sable began to scale the fallen rocks, inwardly and outwardly spewing curses at her luck. Why couldn't someone maintain the path? Especially if this was a trainer hot spot, or so she had been told.

<"Uh, Sable...?"> Came the call from Zobiris.

"Not now." Sable retorted, having trouble lifting her small legs over the large rocks. It seemed as if they were laid out evenly before her, making getting past them somewhat difficult for how small she was.

<"That's not rocks."> Zobiris replied plainly, already on the other side with her arms crossed over her chest and looking rather frazzled at her trainer's ignorance.

"Yes. It. Is." Each word was punctuated with a grunt as Sable finally lifted herself over the pile and to the other side.

<"Well... Tell him that.">  Zobiris said with a nonchalant shrug, pointing one long ghostly finger towards the head of the Onix that had risen from his coils and peered down curiously at the trainer that had crawled along his body.

Sable let out a startled cry as she realized what she had done. Turning rapidly she would bow her head in apology. "Sorry Mister Onix, we did not mean to crawl over your body." Sable apologize, not quite wanting to tangle with the large beast.

<"We?! You mean you!"> Zobiris cried, tossing her hands up in the air in defeat.

Onix would chuckle, a deep earthy sound from the large rock like snake. He turned to look down at the ghost type and cocked his head curiously to the side. <"Yeah, she's always this clueless."> Zobiris replied loudly, reading the rock type's thoughts on the matter and making a point of letting one large gem like eye float towards Sable to make sure she knew she was being talked about.

Sable became read in the face and stuck her tongue out at the Sableye. It was clear the rock type had no interest in a battle and neither did she. Reaching down she would grab Zobiris' wrist and tug her along down the path.

Before long the pair would come across another suspicious rock pile. This time Sable made a point of giving it a wide birth, not wanting to tangle with another angry rock type. Unfortunately her plans to avoid it weren't quite going as expected as the rock pile sprung to life and turned its' face to her.

<"If I didn't know better I'd assume this place had a ton of haunted rocks."> Zobiris said with a cheeky laugh as she shot a grin towards her clearly frustrated trainer. 

"Maybe it just wants to watch us walk by....?" Sable ventured hopefully, quickening her pace to lose the Geodue behind a bend in the tunnel. 

Geodude was having none of their avoidance. Trainers always came to this cave looking for dragon types and never the poor rock types. The frustrated rock decided now was a good a time as any to vent his anger towards being constantly ignored and rejected by travelers at the small woman and her pokemon. 

With a cry Geodude would launch himself forward in a tackle, aiming for Sableye who watched the attack come forward with amusement. The normal attack did not effect her and the pokemon passed through her ghostly body without so much as a scratch. <"Do we wanna show him how to fight a ghost pokemon?"> Zobiris mused, grinning with delight at the confused expression of Geodude.

"May as well Zobiris, confuse ray." Sable said, stepping back to make sure she wouldn't be hit with the attack.

Zobiris turned on her heels and aimed the attack right at the rock type, nailing him with the ray. He would blinked rapidly, trying to clear his head as he turned to face his opponent who seemed to be patiently waiting for his attack. It was then that the Geodude realized he would be unable to actually attack the ghost type. It seemed as if his primary attack would have him phase harmlessly through the ghost type. Hunkering down Geodude used a defense curl, wrapping his arms protectively over his body.

"Shadow claw." Sable said with a frown, wondering why her opponent wouldn't fight back. Zobiris complied with the attack command, sinking her claws deep within the rock like skin of Geodude. He would grunt at the attack but remain otherwise still.

Zobiris withdrew and looked toward her trainer for guidance as the Geodude remained in his curl. Sable shrugged, "Guess we'll have to whittle his health down if he refuses to attack back. Another shadow claw it is."

The Sableye nodded and launched herself forward again, sinking her claws within the hard flesh of Geodude. Again he would grunt but the ghost type would see the flash of pain in his eye. And so the pair continued until eventually the Geodude would release his grasp on his body and fall on his back, defeated.

"Seems we're done here now Zobi," Sable said with a defeated sigh, "And frankly I'm done with this cave. Maybe we can try again another day... Or come back at night or something. I promise you won't remain my only team member for long."
