Roy Case's Charming Personality Roy has never been the smartest guy in the room. And, he's been a lot of rooms. Roy is proud of his criminal origins and will unabashedly proclaim his place in the gang, unless he hears that law enforcement might be nearby. He's a bit of a dork when it comes to most things, getting emotional over pokémon battles and easily frightened at some of the more creepy things in the world. Though he does generally like pokémon, he's not great at remembering the basics. He knows very few species by name, barely manages to remember the typings of his own pokémon and usually associates a creature's color with what type they are (That sandshrew has to be electric type! It's yellow!). He's recently come to appreciate the world outside of Kogane, and though he's gained a bit of an explorer's curiosity, he still aspires to run the streets of Kogane with his Coldblood Crew. History Roy Case was taken in as a very young kid by an ambitious gangster who was eager to fill up the ranks of the Coldblood Crew by any means necessary. Until that point, Roy was a problem child, the only kid of two parents. After he was taken in though, he mostly ran away from home, only visiting to change clothes and occasionally a bite to eat. He doesn't hate his parents, but all of the other gangsters come from broken homes, so he figured he should feign the same. For years he worked as an errand boy, doing very little for the gang, until he was given his first pokémon, a croagunk. It wasn't long after that, that the boss of the Coldblood Crew died at the hands of some shady police work. This put the Crew on the warpath, but they're still locked into a three way struggle for power between the police and the Featherweight Gang. Roy thinks he's been sent on a training voyage by the big shots of the Coldblood Crew, a job which Roy has been taking very seriously. Instead, he was just sent away as a practical joke. Friends Roy is hesitant to declare someone as his friend, because real criminals are supposed to be tough and gruff. But, in actuality, he's a pretty sociable person, though his obnoxiousness can push people away. Most of the people he considers his friends make fun of him behind his back in Kogane. He's come to think much higher of the acquaintances he's made along his journey after fighting alongside them, and in some cases against them. Enemies Roy's biggest rivals would be other Kogane criminals looking to steal his spotlight. He thinks of himself as an up and coming star, so people that make fun of that ambition are likely to get on his bad side. And, of course, anyone who might turn him in or try to arrest him would be susceptible to a very prickly reception. Romance The closest Roy has ever come to a girlfriend was a sweetheart back in Kogane from the Featherweight Gang. For obvious reasons it didn't work out. Roy becomes quite shy around girls he takes a shining to, and bases most of his romantic game on movies the gang pirated, so he's very apt to subscribe to cliches and such. |
