[attr="class","Vgentemptitle"]gym information thread
[attr="class","Vgentempdiv"]
An hour-long boat ride away from Hiwada Town's coast and the mainland, the Hiwada Gym is stationed on an abandoned island, after a beach resort there failed due to the eruption of the volcano there forty years ago. The abandoned villas of the old resort are still there, and are still available for purchase as private property. Not many locals actually live on the island, however, and most people who take up temporary residence here are either seasonal fishers or officials and security from the Pokemon League.
[break][break]
The island itself is fairly small, being only a four hour walk from one coast to the other. Black, dark sand covers the beaches, which lead to dense palm tree forests and swamps, little rivers that flow between the trees, and in the very center, a towering, dark volcano, with rivulets of lava running down the side and across the island until it hardens in the seawater. Overhead is clear day, normally; if not, then it's the screaming thunder of a volcanic storm. Pokemon lurk in the dense wilderness, ranging between several different types and various levels of strength, and their primal cries can be heard echoing throughout the island.
[break][break]
(It should be noted that there is a set path towards the volcano full of officially installed Pokemon specifically for the gym challenge, but since the budget is tight, any trainers who veer off that path are probably going to run into the unchained, more ruthless wild Pokemon there. Try not to do that.)
[break][break]
The port itself is stationed on the northern coast of the island, with several fishing boats and a few yachts stopping by here after a joyride from Asagi City. Any challengers who arrive on the island are notified by gym officials that the gym stadium is at the volcano, and they'll have a limited amount of time to reach the gym. Although seemingly unnecessary, this is actually meant to weed out the unworthy and clear up scheduling time, as only so many boat rides and challenges can really be issued over the course of one day.

Make a thread in the gym board tagged [Time Attack: Your character's name]. Starting from the harbor, your character will have 2 hours to reach the base of the volcano. They are free to use any of the Pokemon in their party in any capacity, even flight. However, volcanic thunderstorms, active Pokemon, the winding forest, and the elements as a whole are working against them, beating down on them as they make their way to the volcano. Trainers are allowed to flee or battle any Pokemon that attack them, but cannot catch those Pokemon. If a character is incapacitated, or time runs out (indicated by a horn from the volcano), they will be escorted to the harbor by a powerful Pokemon, with security restricting them from trying again until one month later. Mind, none of the Pokemon will be attempting to kill you or your own Pokemon, only knock them out, like a battle.
[break][break]
If you manage to reach the base of the volcano (and you don't try to hide yourself from the security cameras tracking your progress), then congratulations, you passed! Make your way to the lift, which will take you to the peak of the volcano! This lift takes about ten minutes, so catch your breath during this time.
[break][break]
Upon reaching the peak, Oh Hyo-Jeong will meet you there, opposite to your side. The stadium itself is an insulated metal bridge hanging over the mouth of the dormant volcano, about twenty feet in width, or roughly the size of a two car lanes. As such, single battles are preferred. There are no rails on the bridge, and if any Pokemon are knocked off of it, they are eliminated through ring-out.
[break][break]
There are several layers of heatproof, transparent wire nets underneath, as well as an automatic Poke Ball recall system, which forces a Pokemon back into it's Poke Ball, should they fall. It would take a purposeful attempt by a wild Pokemon or a human with the necessary tools to break the security system implemented into the volcano.
[break][break]
Due to the nature of the stadium, standard battles are three on three single battles, with no items allowed. However, if she's feeling particular, Hyo-Jeong may surprise someone with a Rotation Battle. In addition, Ring-Outs are possible in the stadium.

- Hyo-Jeong's Gym is only open at daytime, for security purposes. Any thread made to challenge the gym must take place between sunrise and sunset. Notably, the sun grows harsh around midday, so if you want a challenge, then take on the gym at that time.
- Battling the installed Pokemon on the island is acceptable, but any serious injury towards them will result in a fine and incredible scrutiny under official records. Breaking equipment will result in the same fate.
- The challenger is expected to battle at the top of the volcano in a 3 v 3 single battle. However, if the challenge is highly uncomfortable or not bodily able (e.g., pyrophobia, acrophobia, faintness, high blood pressure, injury from the challenge itself, etc.), then the challenge can be moved to the beachfront near the harbor.
- Upon request, the Time Attack may be Death Enabled [DE]! This does not ensure death, but instead raises the difficulty of the challenge to the absolute limit, and more forces will be against you. Upon beating a Death-Enabled Time Attack, Hyo-Jyeong may reward the challenger, or simply give them her respect.
