Roy Case was a bit insulted and a bit relieved at Eden's playful jabbing at first. "I'm allowed to be a bit worried!" he would argue, trying fruitlessly to calm his excited nerves. "Cause y'know... if you'd died or something, the police woulda probably pinned it on me. I don't need the hassle, alright?" Roy would calmly breathe out and relax as much as he could. In pausing to collect himself, Roy would listen closely to Eden's scolding of her pokémon. Apparently, the small girl was powerful enough to wield such a massive beast, and it was referred to as Zen. He watched her begin to cry and then chastise Roy for contributing to the surrounding mess. Roy could only listen to her sad words, feeling very much like some young boy at the receiving end of some verbal maternal abuse. "That's not really... what my friends... well they're not really my friends... or my home fries" Roy tried to spout a response, but everything he tried came out weak and mushy. His words didn't even convince himself. The young man was rather lost in the conversation. Roy would simply collect himself and bend down onto his knee. He wasn't smart, and he wouldn't be able to figure this problem out on his own. "I don't know how to fix the tower," he admitted. "I just wanted to know what happened. I just want to help my home. I don't really understand what your job is, but it looks like you work for the tower or something," Roy wasn't really trying to comfort Eden, just ramble until he arrived at something of a coherent point. "If you think you or that huge rock thing can help me, then maybe I can bring some of my boys out here to help," he then tried to bring his words back around to the girl, and what she was saying. "Today doesn't have to be all that bad." |
