ROLL UP ALL THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU SAD AND FIND THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY The day was hot, brimming with light. The sun shone so brightly in the sky that it was nearly blinding, the morning a time where every creature big and small were awakening to find a vast world still exists around them. Some would stay within the comforts of the shadows that each tree or tall vein of grass provided within the land while some would stick close to their companions in order to explore the new days that lie in wait ahead of them.
Today was one of those days for a woman holding a light blue parasol, frilly in design and almost screaming elegance while a tiny, almost baby-like Eevee bounced in every step it took. The female Pokemon looked up at her trainer while bounding along the dirt path in the forest, chirping, "Eevee! Eevee!", in happiness. The blonde haired woman smiled as her dress slightly fluttered behind her, seeming to tilt her head as she listened quietly to Lily's happiness in her voice. "You enjoy these walks very much, don't you? I'm sorry I haven't been able to take you as much lately, Lily. Things have gotten quite more... complicated in this world.", Yuna admitted. With a crease of her brows, the woman sighed softly in what seemed to be a state of stress and trouble. The small Eevee twitched her ears and tilted her head, a bit confused on why her owner had such a sad look on her face. But it was soon that with a high bounce into the air that she let out a short cry. Yuna had caught on clumsily as to what her little one was doing, and caught the Pokemon in her grasp with her free arm, making a yelp escape her throat before regaining her balance.
It was with a playful down at Lily that the woman sighed, a giggle mixing in shortly after as she began to walk again. Lily cuddled into her trainer's body and arm, seeking the comfort of her warmth in an event to also provide her that same comfort. And it was working, for Yuna smiled and held the parasol over them both still. "Oh, Lily, you're full of surprises...", she mumbled as they continued to walk the path laid out before them, unaware of the days events that were about to unfold. |

Summer was always a funny one in the city, as while the buildings offered shade to those who may be caught in the sun for too long they were also full of people… who trap heat. The young man was not one of exception as he also felt that the heat was getting to him, so much so that he was standing behind his Chatot who was gliding in the air just in front. The winds from the flapping would bring gentle relief to the coordinator.
”You know, Cid, you’re very lucky you don’t have to worry about the filth of sweating from your feathers. I imagine that would make things difficult when it comes to flying.” The bird would slow down, flying back onto his trainer’s shoulder and wagging its tail feathers.
“Very lucky! Very lucky! Cid you’re very lucky!” it would reply back, boasting how well the Pokémon was doing compared to his trainer. Kichirou in return would shake his head and gently brush down his Chatot.
”Yes I know! Just don’t let it go to your head or you’ll be enjoying the warmth of your pokeball again!” A joking threat to his Pokémon as he looked out towards the paths of the forests.
The forest of Kogane was often where Kichirou would run off to to practice lines, or live action some of his works that he was working on. Cid was a good sound and camera crew seeing as the bird Pokémon could imitate the right sounds at the right time. Usually it was very quiet, only a few people that Kichirou would stop and chat to. He was, after all, a socialite and loved to practice confidence and talking to people.
However, amongst the dull forest that they had snuck into, colours of blue and white, and even lighter browns and blondes emerged from the thickets and onto the path ahead of them. It was once again time to practice how confident he was in his acting.
”Ready for more work, Cid?” he said, his comedy duo partner for all his talking. Without a Chatot Kichirou didn’t think he’d have ever gotten this far.
He approached from the front, and as he reached closer he would do his usual greeting of tapping his head with 2 fingers and throwing them forward.
”Good day,” he would remark before actually getting a good eye on her and seeing how… stylish she was! ”Goodness! Your dress and parasol are absolutely adorable!”
“Adorable! Good dress, absolutely adorable!” Chatot would remark, copying the man he was with. He would gently hush his companion who left his shoulder to get a good look at the Eevee since he had never seen one.
”And your Eevee has such a fine coat… tell me are you one of those coordinators I’ve heard about? “ She seemed to fit the part of one, much more than many other people he had met. Of course if she was one then she would have to be a rival.
”Oh where are my manners!” He paused and realised he hadn’t even started with his name. ”The name is Kichirou, and I have the pleasure talking to…?”

ROLL UP ALL THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU SAD AND FIND THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY As the walk continued, something very... unexpected occurred. After the tender moments and little interactions the two shared, it seemed their own personal time would be interrupted by new strangers approaching them. Lily's fur poofed slightly as the Pokemon's curiosity grew from the two new beings before her, having looked up at her owner for a sense of where things could be headed. However, the Eevee noticed that Yuna only seemed to have the same air of curiosity herself, the man seeming to have greeted them. Lily wriggled out of Yuna's grasp and landed on the earth below, looking up at Chatot with a particular interest in the bird Pokemon. "Eevee!", she greeted with a smile before sensing she was complimented. With a flutter of her eyes, she smiled and wagged her tail. Boy, was this man very nice!
Yuna seemed to grasp her parasol with both hands, gazing upon this man with only the slightest tension. Yet by his behavior and his compliments, she seemed to ease up a little as the moments passed by. For now, with the way the world was, it was safe to always be on your guard. But it seemed like this man was genuine in his words and attitude. And his Chatot seemed to be very happy to be by his side. With a gentle smile in response to his kindness and upbeat energy, the blonde couldn't help but let a quiet giggle pass through her lips before properly bowing her head out of thanks. "Thank you both very much for the sweet words but I'm no coordinator. Aha, in fact, I'm a breeder.", she said before looking down at Lily. She seemed to show an interest in Chatot, which means it was good she was at least attempting to make a friend. The compliment the man made about the Eevee's fur was certainly welcoming, and it was something that especially helped boost her self-confidence in this particular situation. "I'm sure Lily here very much appreciates your words." And it was with that the man began to introduce himself.

With a curtsey and grabbing the fabric of her dress, Yuna bowed her head as she politely began to greet the man before her back. He seemed kind enough. Almost innocent, truthfully. "Hello, Kichirou. My name is Yuna. And the pleasure is all mine.", she said before a tingle traveled up her spine. Blue eyes began to travel around as pieces of grass trickled and danced against one another. It was then without warning that two Pokemon jumped out of the grass, appearing without so much as a sound from their very mouths. A Rattata and Ledyba, both looking ready for a fight. With a soft gasp, the woman flinched back in her feet while Lily jumped up. The Eevee scampered and scurried behind Yuna, shivering from the surprise of two newcomers. Yuna had to get her bearings and fighting Pokemon surely wasn't her forte. "O-Oh dear. They seem... energetic.", she stammered slightly with a nervous tone in her voice. Both the Rattata and Ledyba gazed upon the two of them with their own respective cries.
It was now or never. |
