[break][break] the ICE BEAM is blocked by the LIGHT SCREEN, and CRAWDAUNT receives a thorough SUCKER PUNCH right to the face. however, between being a dark-type, having sizable defenses, and overall just being fairly powerful, the water-type pins the cacturne with a death glare, it's body slowly creaking back into movement. [break][break] a claw reaches for the cacturne's outstreched hand, and CRAWDAUNT attempts to grab the CACTURNE'S arm with a vicegrip claw. whether it succeeds or not, CRAWDAUNT uses ICE BEAM on the CACTURNE at point blank, now that the grass-type was right in it's face. [break][break] suddenly, from the horizon, several creatures started approaching the bridge, indistinguishable in the distance at the moment. however, it was clear that these things weren't human, judging by their shape and the monstrous, shrill cries they emitted which was audible from the party's position.

how strong is this crawdaunt? she's baffled by its ability to combat not one, but two opponents. lugh's attack had connected, but it puts him in an awkward position. his arm's gripped by the crawdaunt's claw, locking him in place as he awaits his fate. luckily there's a charge time for ICE BEAM.
ava hadn't stopped moving. a red beam of light shoots forward, engulfing her cacturne back into his pokeball just in time to avoid the beam of ice. it's aimed at nothing; the beam whizzes past her, all the way to the creatures that approach the bridge.
two birds with one stone, right?

victor doesn't do shit. he doesn't need to. not like shitter will add much to their current fighting prowess. the size and rigidness of the pokemon poses more of a liability than a HELPING HAND. but that doesn't mean he won't join in. "should we catch it?" twitchy fingers rest on a spare pokeball. it's not often that victor finds a pokemon worth catching but today's an exception. location: north coast docks

 It's a good that she's paying attention--Emma quickly steps out of the way of a stray ice beam. If she wasn't paying attention...it would've hurt a lot. "Woah." When she turns, she sees that there were other creatures approaching them. "W-what's that?" She says, edging closer to the other trainers. It's then that she hears the spiky haired trainer talk. That was smart, and totally a good idea! "Yeah! Let's catch 'em." She replies, quickly pulling out an empty pokeball from her pocket. She throws it in the creatures' direction. What if it's like, a really strong pokemon?  |

cooper's focused on the crawdaunt. the immense claws did not worry him; instead, it was the eyes. pulled from a rob zombie mental creation, the eyes dragged in their sockets, black seeds for pupils inviting startled questions. the cowboy's fingers traveled to his mouth, ready to issue an order—but they soon fell to his side.
of course. ava was smart. after a blinding flash of red, she was able to recall her cacturne before the incoming freeze. a success. yet, without much guidance aside from the volcano as a marker, he could not truly discern their progress. was a two hour trek really surmountable? the challenges seemed to pile on top of themselves, increasing in weight and intensity like the horrifying choir nearby.
"sounds like a stampede." cooper said.
as the others reached for their vacant pokeballs, the cowboy ushered his ampharos forward.

[nospaces] [attr="class","Vgentempbox"] [attr="class","Vgentemptitle"]time attack: ava, emma, cooper, victor [attr="class","Vgentempdiv"] the ICE BEAM is successfully redirected, with the target out of the way. the line of freezing cold travels eastward, cutting across the ocean's surface, before freezing one of the pokemon approaching the island, leaving one of them in a glacier while the other two swam ahead.[break][break] however, it seems that your plans aren't completely perfect. CRAWDAUNT smacks away the poke ball, the usual red laser being nullified by it's own coding. CRAWDAUNT is a trainer's pokemon. annoyed by the disappearance of it's target and the sudden attempt to catch it, CRAWDAUNT used HIDDEN POWER, and in a wave of energy, the spiky wall in front of it was suddenly ignited and burnt away, allowing the crustacean to stomp towards the group once more with a piercing screech.[break][break] suddenly, there's the sound of glass cracking and shattering in the distance, and then the roar of a burning fire. the frozen pokemon was a GYARADOS, and it thawed out using FLAMETHROWER. the great serpent yowled in anger, approaching the island along with the other two unknown pokemon at alarming rates.[break][break] this beach was about to be a madhouse if you don't leave.[break]

they're being surrounded on all sides. she has plans running through her head; deciding which one leads to the best scenario for them.
from one side, a roided-out crawdaunt with a will as strong as cooper's arm. from another, a gyarados who thaws out of the ice too quickly; rather conveniently. and from another, two unknowns.
lugh fades to aid cooper's ampharos, setting up SPIKY SHIELDs that surround them, acting as a barrier. that's all he does for now.

shit. the little girl had beaten him to the draw. victor can almost taste the regret cooked by his hesitation. it simmers as the ball flies toward the crawdaunt. such an intimidating pokemon got snatched right out from under him!
except... it didn't?
it never connected. the beam never gave crawdaunt the good succ. which meant only one thing. "shit. that's a trainer's pokemon." an observation that brings to dawn an even worse realization. "shit. they probably all are." oh well, that makes things simpler. that just means they have to take them down.
and, as usual, ava has no choice but to rely on him. to see someone so adamant on subjugating him at every turn, it irks him to see her turn heel.
"STONE EDGE cage, rhyhorn!"
a heavy tremor sounds rhyhorn's entrance. the earth shakes as it lands on the ground with a resilient thud. it marks the arrival of shifting terrain. dirt becomes compacted and replaced by thorny outcrops of stone pillars, each one sprouting out from the ground and forward toward the crawdaunt. shitter takes his place between their party and the opponent but even that is becoming divided by the secondary barricade. the attack serves two purposes. each pillar feeds into another that threatens eventually to impale crawdaunt from below. those left by the attack now serve as a secondary stone wall. location: north coast docks
