Leon's face was a whole lot of 'excuse me but how?' He couldn't help his nervous chuckle of a laugh. He nodded regardless, deciding he probably needed to actually finish out the dare or... else. " Have we even talked about what the consequences are if we don't do said dare or tell whatever truth?" He contemplated that for a moment as he stood and brushed himself off. Next step was to stretch, or he'd pull something while trying to make it three steps with the largest man he'd ever met on his back. So, he went to stretch his arms and legs while waiting for Cooper's response. Why? Because it'd be great to have a scapegoat if he really needed it. Which brought to the surface of his mind a question he'd been trying to ignore. Why didn't he want a scapegoat? Because he wanted to be honest with Cooper. " Oh Arceus-" The words were rammed together a bit like a Tauros and a red surface. There was a strained sort of yelp that came from Leon as he felt Cooper's weight against him. Deep breaths and a few wiggling limbs later and Leon actually had Cooper on his back. Now to move. No. Nope. Mmnm." Don't wiggle, please, for the love of Celebi, do not wiggle." Because at this point, Cooper had the ability to break one of Leon's legs with all that weight. Right? Right. Well, it wouldn't take Cooper wiggling to get Leon to the ground. After picking up one foot and trying to take a step, suddenly Leon was colliding with the ground. His chest hit first, then the side of his face, and then his hips. He groaned as the ground met his skin, wincing at the feeling of his skin breaking open with the impact of the ground. " Part of me thinks, I'd rather not get paid..." Leon mumbled, mostly to himself, though with how close Cooper was Cooper definitely could have heard the mumbled sassy complaint. |

Feeling Cooper's weight leave him had Leon turning around onto his back. Once there, whatever thought he'd come up with as a sassy comment died in his throat. There Cooper was, in all his masculine glory, above him.No, normally this wouldn't be a big deal. Leon knew how to shut his gutter mind off. But for whatever reason, all he could think at that moment was how nice it was to have Cooper above him. Not just sexually, but in the sense of keeping Leon safe. Like somebody surrounding him from the negativity that Leon had a habit of inflicting upon himself. " Auummm...." Leon's pitch was higher than normal, as was typical when he blushed. And Leon was definitely blushing hardcore. He cleared his throat and blinked at Cooper. " I'm, uh, I'm-" He was going to say fine, but immediately his brows furrowed and he reached up to pull on some of Cooper's hair. " I'm not a kid." But damn Cooper's hair. It was sweaty, and he immediately regretted the decision and wiped the sweat off on Cooper's shirt. Oh, and that was sweaty as well. Leon groaned and wiped his hand off on his own shirt between their stomachs. " My word Cooper, is there a part of you that isn't sweating excessively?" And all the while, Leon sported a giant blush. |

For a moment, Leon just laid in the sun. Laid in the sun and stared at the sky while Cooper got up and off. One thing was clear, Leon had enjoyed the shade Cooper built. The sun offended Leon's eyes and he was raising a hand to cover his eyes. The blush was still there, he could feel it, and he was promptly trying to ignore it. Though hearing Cooper's words had the blonde sitting upright and glaring at Cooper. " What? No. Just because I couldn't physically complete the dare doesn't mean I lose it just means I ... I don't know, probably should work out?" He'd been thinking about working out anyway. If only to be more helpful around the ranch. And to think, this had all started because Leon wanted to tell Cooper something he couldn't stomach saying without a reason. Oddly enough, Leon felt himself getting a little bit closer to telling Cooper. If only because he was beginning to feel more comfortable. In more ways than one." A shower sounds great." Not that he was inviting himself. Oh, and cue the blush. " I'll, er, I'll head back to the ranch and um, and clock out. Then uh, then get back home and do, do that, shower thing." Arceus help him. |

Thankful that they were getting up, Leon took the hand extended to him by his boss and stood. It was, unluckily for Leon, about the time Cooper mentioned showering at the Ranch that Leon stood up and found himself dangerously close to Cooper. Multiple things made their way through Leon’s mind. One being that the distance wasn’t terrible. The second being that he couldn’t help noticing the contrast in their hands. The third thought, however, escaped via his mouth. With bulged eyes and a bright red tent to his face noticeable from space, Leon stared at Cooper’s face as the words processed. “ Are... are you asking me to shower with you, Cooper Armstrong?” There was something in Leon’s tone that said he wouldn’t mind if Cooper was, but there was something else that sounded vaguely like a frightened Mareep. Without much thought in his words, Leon let out a laugh to try and cover up his nerves. He pushed a hand not hold Cooper’s into his blonde hair. “ Take me to dinner first.” He was half joking... |

Oh gah... oh gah, gah. Leon just stood there, watching Cooper scratch at the back of his head and mention Daisy being in the shower with them. There were a lot of questions going through Leon’s mind and without warning they all just sort of ended up leaving him a blush and a mumble-groaned, “ ...wha?” Leon cleared his throat to pretend that hadn’t rattled him. His red face gave him away. He might as well have been a Magmar, honestly. “ I— um, I am hungry, so.” What was he even saying? Had he just been asked out?? No, no. It was just a shower to wash Pokémon. They probably weren’t going to strip down past their boxers. No. Cooper wasn’t coming into him.
Sure. Yes. Right. He’d keep telling himself that. “ Well, let’s get going then. Right? Yes.” After releasing Cooper’s hand, Leon’s fingers brazed over one another in an attempt to remember the feeling of Cooper’s hand. |

"my stomach's screamin' at me. you've already heard it, i reckon." he patted his taut gut like a mother knocking on her son's bedroom door for some peace and quiet. his hand remained there and arose slightly with his breath.[break][break] leon's skin was soft. his hand had felt like a tulip's petal, fingers curved ever so gently like the flower's lip in the rough palm of the cowboy. as he let go, the absence was so stark. painful, even. cooper glanced at his own hands in subtle angles, wondering when they became so tough. so worked.[break][break] cooper lamented the gradual loss of his youth. the early twenties had slipped away into the mids like a kite torn from its fliers hands. the latter half of the twenties was a boulder cascading down a slope, crushing dried plants and slamming into jutting stones as it unwillingly sacrificed pieces of itself.[break][break] at least his hands weren't spiked. cooper quickly darted forward, catching several spikes with his leather satchel before they could strike leon and his eevee. a cacnea shrieked, its perpetual smile like growing cavities in its thick bodice.[break][break] "got an aggressive here." cooper clenched his teeth before motioning for his flaaffy to come to his aid. "move in and discharge."[break][break] the flaaffy bounded forward, her newfound agility like a magic spell. using the momentum of her dash, the electric sheep sprung from her haunches and whipped her tipped tail. the orb sparked like a storm cloud before bursting into an explosive firework of electricity. the threads of pent up voltage slammed into the cactus. whirring and gurgling on its spit, the cacnea's needles dislodged themselves due to the intense shock. [break][break] another discharge was enough to fry the cacnea into an unconscious bud on the ground. cooper hastily removed the needles from his satchel, frowning at the damage.[break][break] "you alright, leon?"[break][break] word count: 319[break]

Leon's who frame froze when Cooper moved in front of him. Wow, was he really such a damsel? And he thought he'd be really epic with what he'd done on the beach that one time with the kid and his Abra. Saved people from a Sharpedo attack and helped a little Carvanha back into the water. But apparently, he was still dull enough to need Cooper's protection. And oddly enough, he didn't mind. In fact, he was very thankful for Cooper's protection. Made him feel... warm? "Yeah boss," he said with a small laugh. "Thanks." His gratitude was shown in how he smiled, small blush in place. "My knight in shining denim." He teased, tugging on Cooper's overall like attire. Taft gave Cooper's arm a lick. He was in Leon's arms, thankful to the big one for protecting his trainer. Taft's eyes lit up as he heard something else in the bushes and he pushed off of Leon's body to land on the ground. He ignored the complaint from Leon as he landed, quickly letting out a SWIFT.The Lombre that'd been creepin' in the grass went to rolling, popping out of her hiding place. Once she was hit, she let out a BUBBLE. "Counter it and then cut in close!" Leon instructed. Taft used another SWIFT, watching as the Lombre was taken aback at the beautiful display that was given from the result of the two attacks colliding. Before she got the chance to zero in on the Eevee, Taft had closed the distance between them with a QUICK ATTACK.Deciding it wasn't worth the pain, the Lombre retreated into the grass again, moving into the nearby body of water and swiftly swimming away. Leon let out a sigh and smiled. "Great job," he bent down to take the Eevee back up into his arms, giving Taft a few pets. "You're really getting good at this."The Eevee puffed out his chest happily, nodding triumphantly. Damn straight he was getting good at this. He was going to protect Leon, no matter the cost. |
