A city that even now bears the marks of its history, slumbering between the colorful forest that protects Enju is the entrance to the cities gym hiding in the leaves. Challengers entering through a small shrine that sets them upon the path to the protector of the forest. Being guided by the crimson shrine torii through the slumbering forest until they come upon the forgotten relics of the past. Statues of the sky guardian covered by nature with ancient script marking the battlefield. Waterfalls cascading into the pools that border the arena.

It is here that the gym leader greets you, supported by the pokemon that have been bequeathed upon him. Guardians of the Forest testing the like of man to see if they are worthy of the journey ahead. If they are not, they will be saved from the hardships of adventuring further into the world of Johto. For his challenge not only tests the body but the mind as well. Offering the challengers to face his three unique trials for the badge or versus his six pokemon team battle at the arena found before them.


TRIAL OF LIGHTNING - Transforms the arena and one of the gym leaders pokemon. The heavens above turning dark and heavy, flashes of light and loud booms of thunder fill the challengers ears. Before them a tall tower stands before lightning strikes down upon the wooden shrine. Born of the lightning strike is Raikou, the Thunder Pokemon. A legendary beast roaring challenges the trainer. Battling the trainer with the power of the electricity, calling upon the very sky to smite the opponent. If the trainer could withstand its might the illusion would end and the start of the second trial would be prompted with a switch of the gym leaders pokemon.

TRIAL OF FIRE - The tower the challenger was brought before started afire from the stray lightning, the wooden tower being engulfed quickly. From the flashes of fire a wild pokemon appears, its heavy mane and weight introducing the Lava Pokemon Entei. The history of the burned tower being played out right before the trainer. Its roar would only increase the rage of the fire, swallowing the tower whole. It would be the second opponent of the challenger, testing their strength and wisdom with its incredible attacks. If the challenger could withstand the heat the second trial would cease and the last illusion would begin with the last switch in from the gym leader.

TRIAL OF RAIN - Sweltering heat would fade when the heavens began to weep, a down pour flooding the grass. The burned tower fire would cease, the rain drowning the flames. From the soot and depths of the burned tower the last of the trial guardians would appear. Suicune, the Aurora Pokemon roar a sad and depressing song that healed the wounds of the scorched tower. Suicune confrontation with the challenger would feel like a dance, as it moved majestically with devastating moves. If the challenger was worthy of the badge the illusion would fade, the history of enju city played out before the challenger.


If you choose to ignore the trials and battle the gym leader for the battle you would face the entire bench of the gym leader. Comprised of a variation of pokemon that would not be easily defeated. The rules simple for the battle, one pokemon at a time, the challengers bench versus his six pokemon team. Each of them having an array of moves to support each other and strike equally hard at their opponents. Being deemed worthy over the course of the battle, or by defeating all six pokemon would reward the challenger with his badge.
