[attr="class","Vgentempdiv"] Excited, Frederick stood ready to attack the ground type with a barrage of grass type moves, disappointed that the elephant pokemon would be switched out.[break][break] "Awww, leaving so soon?" Frederick smirked as Ashley withdrew her elephant, in it's place was a weird... plastic monkey looking thingy. A Meditite. This thing was pretty agile, being a fighting type. He would like to get a status inflicted on it.[break][break] Should he try poison? No, it's a psychic type, probably wouldn't be too effective. Sleep? No, he might somehow resist that with it's psychic powers as well. That left only stun spores.[break][break] "Stun spore!" the Hoppip giggled as green spores began to float out of it, the cottonweed pokemon rising higher and higher into the air. Normally, floating a bunch of spores towards a pokemon wasn't exactly the most accurate, but being a flying type specialist, Frederick was able to develop a special maneuver to improve it's accuracy.[break][break] "Alright Hoppip! Fan manuever!"[break][break] The cottonweed pokemon spun 90 degrees forward, pointing it's grassy rotator blade right at Meditite. Then, it spun it at full speed, pushing the stun spores right at the Meditite like a fan. [attr="class","smdbody"]ash slapped a hand over her mouth as wisps of the hoppip's debilitating toxin rushed toward both herself and her companion. rook would of course get the worst of it, forced to take in a mouthful of the sour tasting stuff that had been fanned in their general direction. the little fighter's facial features would grow increasingly pinched until it transformed into a pained grimace. a terrible sensation was coursing throughout her small form now, causing the meditite's muscles to spasm and lock at random intervals.
"med-i," the pokemon whimpered.
"rook, c'mon."
ash bit her lip, struggling to maintain her composure as her meditite struggled with the simple act of moving.
"try using confusion!"
rook bowed her head deeply, eyes growing shut as she forced herself to raise her limbs and focus. she managed to resist the stun spore's attempts at preventing these small and seemingly inconsequential motions, and would pant as her mind conjured the power.
"medi-tite."
a weak telekinetic force would come forth, the meditite managing to shape it as a blast of energy meant to bewilder and befuddle her foe.
'let's hope this dumb little plant doesn't stick around for too long.'

He watched as the muscles of the Meditite began to lock up and spaz uncontrollably, a strained expression on the monkey's face as he tried to make a move.[break][break] A weird ball of energy formulated from the head of the monkey as it struck a Meditative pose, floating towards the cottonweed pokemon.[break][break] The heck is that? Peach, get out of the way! Unfortunately, the cottonweed pokemon wasn't agile enough and the weird ball of energy hit. It's eyes became glassy as it felt it's vision go blurry and cross-eyed.[break][break] "Hoppip?"[break][break] Soon, the Hoppip began flying around wildly, completely losing it's sense of direction.[break][break] "Peach! What the hell are you doing!" Yelled Frederick. "Crap, it's like that thing completely confused it!" Frederick groaned.[break][break] Looks like he wasn't the only one playing with status inflicting moves. Ah, no point in trying to attempting an attack right now. He used this opportunity to order his Hoppip to get a hold of it'sself. she glanced to her companion, whom was trembling lightly.
'we can take advantage of that.'

unfortunately, the little dual-type would be rendered temporarily incapable of executing such a move. she would instead quiver violently, her form growing alarmingly stiff as the stun spore's toxin riddled her body. the averse effects left the meditite useless and exposed during the precious little time they had to mount a defense against the gym leader and his grass-type.
"of course," ash spat, eyes narrowing.
"medi-tite."
rook moaned quietly before collapsing to one knee, her dark gaze raising to futility glare at the opposing team.

Fortunately, the opponent's Meditite had been paralyzed by it's Hoppip's stun spore. Psychic pokemon however were smart, and Fred knew he couldn't keep playing the Status Effect game which had worked so well against some burlier challengers looking to smash his dainty flying types out of the air with their powerful menacing looking pokemon only for them to be rendered powerless by his Hoppip.[break][break] "Hoppip! Bullet Seed!" Yelled Fred, knowing his pokemon currently lacked the ability to execute any move in a refined manner that he had so painstakingly taught it, but he hoped it would manage to hit... something![break][break] The Hoppip whirled around in the air as she executed her master's command, raining down pods of green projectiles in all directions as she spun around the air with absolutely no sense of bearing or where the Meditite was even located. one wildly tossed seed slammed into ash's face, resulting in a bloody nose that sent the woman stumbling back a few steps.
"mother fuck - !"
the girl tentatively touched the damaged area, and was relieved that nothing had been broken.
'still hurts like a bitch, though.'
a splattering of crimson dropped onto her top, a grimace upon her face as she forced herself to focus on the battle at hand. with no towels at her disposal, she was forced to lift her shirt and expose her belly to stem the flow somewhat.
"try usin' hidden power, rook," she ordered, her voice muffledby the cloth.
the meditite adopted a offensive stance despite her presently ailed state, summoning forth several orbs of power before thrusting them in the bewildered grass-type's direction.

[attr="class","Vgentempdiv"] The resulting move ended up becoming a Steel Type move, since they were indoors on a large platform.[break][break] The little orbs of strange energy suddenly transformed into sharp metallic blades as they sliced right at Hoppip.[break][break] The little cottonweed pokemon was never all that agile, and being confused didn't really help. There was no chance for it to get out of the way.[break][break] The blades sliced at Hoppip's body, and one made contact with her rotary blades. "WHOOSH"[break][break] "Mayday mayday! Heli goin down!"[break][break] Hoppip lost control of her flight path as she plummeted and crashed onto the ground.[break][break] In a defensive measure, Fred ordered Hoppip to release Poison Powders all around it, knowing that the Grass type was immune from being affected by spores. [attr="class","smdbody"]the purple spores rain down upon rook, nearly obscuring the fighter's vision as it engulfed her in a thick and pungent wave. the fighter would cough as she inhaled the sickly sweet and airborne concoction, and squint her eyes as she attempted to wave it away with a sweeping gesture and a light telekinetic push.

it caused her eyes to water somewhat, but she remained mostly unaffected by it. with the 'stun spore' still running rampant within her system, the 'poison powder' failed to wriggle its way in and further damage her already partially impaired innards.
"try another 'hidden power', rook!"
the fighting-type coughed and spat, struggling to focus upon her target as she was assaulted by the cloud of toxin. but she obeyed her mistress's command, and would summon yet another 'hidden power' to be launched at the hoppip.
'let's hope we stay lucky and she can keep moving.'
her nosebleed had come to a halt, which would allow for her to drop her ruined top and focus completely on the battle at hand.

The little cottonweed Pokemon's rotors were barely rotating now as it struggled to re-orient itself. rook visibly cringed, her mouth agape as she felt her muscles painfully tighten. a violent tremor rocked her, and the pokemon's eyes grew wet from the sensation alone as her body refused to cooperate.
"rook, can you use another 'hidden power'?"
as the question was presented, a 'sleeping powder' would flow all around, and the meditite would inhale it through a series of sharply taken breaths. it caused the small fighter's vision to grow blurry around the edges, but she remained awake and mostly aware of her immediate surroundings.

Come on..!"[break][break] The Hoppip was on it's last leg now to say the least. Deep, slow breathes shook it's entire body. No longer did it attempt to fly but instead stood on it's tiny, salmon colored feet. If it could only have a few moments to recover itself..! But for now she didn't even have the energy to lift herself into the sky.[break][break] Hoppip was grounded.[break][break] "Hoppip, quick! Use Leech Seed and try and bring this back!" Freddie knew he was working on borrowed time. If that sleep power didn't work.. No! He wouldn't think of it. It had too![break][break] As if she had already stored the seeds in her stomach, the little pink pokemon shot them out from her mouth and towards her opponent. There they would hopefully dig in, revitalize the dual-type and bring this match back from the brink of defeat! [break][break] TL;DR: Exhausted, Hoppip uses Leech Seed!
