[attr="class","smdbody"] it wasn't terribly long before she discovered an electrike, the creature digging into what appeared to be the remains of a pidgey. the quadraped raised its head and licked its chops free of a few smudges of crimson that stained its muzzle as it eyed her. it hovered over its meal before stepping over it,  swagger present within its trot as it moved closer to the female woman. ash retreated a step, noting its mouth that hung partially open to reveal milky white teeth. 

"now aren't you a little badass?" she commented. 

ash carefully reached for her donphan's pokeball, familiar enough with the canine's species to be aware of its status as an electric-type. she was almost certain that bishop would make short work of it. 

"go, bishop." 

the hefty creature appeared in a flash of light, blinking as his eyes adjusted to the intensity of the sun's rays. once it did, his gaze would fix itself upon the canine whom paused to warily take in the sight of the donphan. 

"we're taking it down," ash informed. 

the electrike released a growl, the smugness that had formerly tainted its expression being replaced with a fearful one. 

"start off with a bulldoze." 

bishop stomped upon the earth, causing it to tremble. while it wasn't as powerful as an earthquake, it still threatened to inflict a substantial amount of damage upon the dog. it released a strangled noise as pieces of earth jutted out beneath it, striking the flesh of its middle and its legs. 

"nice." 

the wild pokemon managed to cling on despite its injured state, snarling viciously as it sought to administer a quick attack upon the donphan's form. the ground-type would grimace lightly as the electrike bounced off his tough hide before taking advantage of their close proximity. he raised his trunk, wielding the flexible limb like a blunt weapon as it mercilessly slammed the canine into the earth. it instantly fell limp, awkwardly splayed upon the ground as it releasing a quiet whine.

"good one, bishop," she said. 

ash stepped closer to examine and nudge the limp pokemon with her foot. 

"eh." 

she shrugged. 

"let's keep looking. this one's no good. it barely gave you a good fight." 

[attr="class","smdbody"] the luxio surprised her, for it had stepped free from a cluster of nearby brush the moment the pair moved away from the electrike's limp form. it offered the canine a dismissive glance before bearing its teeth as it moved to close the distance between itself and the young woman. 

"oh?" 

ash faced the creature, an interested gleam in her eye. 

"you want some, too?" 

her inquiry was met with a low growl, the luxio's piercing gaze clashing with her brown-eyed one. 

"alright, alright," she said, raising her hands in mock surrender. 

'this'll be just as easy,' she thought. 

the look on her face was smug as she directed her donphan to attack. 

"you know the drill, boy. do the same with the kitty cat, since he's so eager for it." 

bishop stepped closer before raising a hoof and stomping down with force. the ground would tremble underneath the trio, the earth disturbed by the beast's power. it would jut up, moving to stab at the feline's belly with its power. but to ash's surprise, it would easily dance out of the way. there was an odd sort of grace to its movements, its ears twitching and its nostrils flaring as it detected the attack's hasty approach and responded in a timely fashion.

"hmph." 

ash shrugged. 

"do it again. it got lucky." 

the earth shook, and the luxio flawlessly repeated the action of avoiding the potentially grievous strike. 

"use slam on it," ash prompted. 

her smile had lessened significantly as she bore witness to her pokemon's initially fruitless charge. the electric-type out sped the large creature by a large margin , dancing about as her companion made attempt after attempt at landing a hit. he would manage, eventually, but it was a disappointingly glancing blow that would only stagger the feline. 

'color me impressed.' 

the wild pokemon grimaced lightly in response to the strike, backpedaled, and then retaliated by bearing its teeth and digging the pointed ivories into the flesh of donphan's trunk. bishop cried out, rearing and losing his focus as he attempted to shake off the feline. but it proved a useless endeavor, for the luxio would apply pressure to remain steadfast in its position. its unsheathed fore paws batted at the tame pokemon as its back paws dug into the earth. 

"push yourself onto it!"

bishop struggled to overwhelm the electrike-type with its bulk, pressing its weight onto it as the luxio ruthlessly clawed at his soft belly. 

"keep it down!" 

ash was forced to shift her position to get a better view of the battle at hand, eagerly taking in the sight of her pokemon pressing the luxio into the earth in an attempt to subdue it. 

"slam its head into the ground!" 

bishop raised his head and his trunk that remained in the luxio's hold and moved to preform the violent action. the feline finally released his grip once his skull had bounced against the earth, a dazed look forming upon its face. 

"back away, now." 

the donphan obeyed as quickly as he could manage, his bleeding trunk and belly dripping crimson in his wake. the luxio stood upon wobbly legs the moment he did, its eyes round as it struggled to recover from the force behind the slam. 

'looks like i didn't break its skull. good.' 

"bulldoze, again!" 

earth would tremble once more, and the luxio would waver unsteadily upon its paws. it was unable to effectively dodge this particular strike, and suffered a significant blow once the bulldoze hit. it had nearly toppled over immediately after, but remained standing by sheer force of will. 

"finish it."

but before he could, the luxio lunged forward, and made a bold attempt at mutilating bishop. it aimed for his eye, seeking to bite into it. thankfully it had only managed to reach his brow, which left the soft organ mostly untouched. 

"finish it!" 

bishop made use of double edge, slamming both himself and the cat into a nearby tree with a dull roar. the very moment  the wild pokemon fell limp ash would retrieve an empty capsule from her belt before tossing it at the collapsed beast. 

"d-don-phan." 

her pokemon retreated several steps, his bleeding brow causing him to shut the eye below it as tightly as he could. 

[attr="class","smdbody"]ash flinched the moment the luxio promptly exited and released an awe-inspiring roar. her donphan froze as the terrible sound reached his ear, his capsule responding to the call by absorbing the ground-type into it's comfortable confines. 

"you piece of - " 

the woman snarled in annoyance as she fumbled for another capsule before finally plucking up one at random. 

"go!" 

the woman had no idea whom would pop out, but to her relief, it would be her meditite whom emerged. the fighter blinked and cocked her head in response to the sight of the snarling feline. 

"rook, it's weak," ash informed. 

rook squinted her eyes, her gaze shifting to take in the splotches of crimson that had originated from her peer's open wounds. 

"medi," she murmured. 

the dual-type adopted an offensive stance, aware of what she needed to do. 

'guess this is round two.' 

the luxio lunged to deliver a thunder fang, potent energy hovering before it in fang-shaped prongs as it rushed toward the little fighter. 

"just take it!" 

rook accepted the blow, but it would leave her form quivering violently as an electrical current that originated from the attack coursed throughout her form. 

"use force palm." 

the meditite obeyed, taking advantage of their close proximity to deliver the strike on the luxio's already tender head. it released her immediately after, its expression tight as it struggled to recover from the single harsh blow. it blinked blearily, and wavered upon its paws before it snarled and exuded a potent glow. 

'i think that's... charge?' 

the woman bit her lip as she considered her options. 

"confusion." 

rook conjured up the energy, emitting a bewildering aura that caused the luxio's expression to grow increasingly dazed until it began to stumble. it was uncoordinated in its following attempt to strike out against rook, and would stumble over itself despite its best efforts. 

'it's confused,' ash thought, pleased. 

"give it another force palm!" 

the meditite nodded, a powerful aura forming before her paw as she lunged forward to deliver the powerful attack. it recoiled from the force of the strike alone, quivering violently as it lay still. 

"let's try this again." 

the pokeball she had used beforehand had been rendered useless - broken by the luxio's successful escape attempt. so she was forced to produce another, tossing it with force so it would harshly bounce against the feline's pelt.
