Since deciding to take up the spotlight again Zatka has been increasingly jittery. A mix of excitement and the inability to keep still leaving the man with racing thoughts. With no one to talk to he had been talking to the bodies, he prepares for burials. Leaving a few of his coworkers a bit creeped out.
"A flying type, a psychic, the giant, the rebel, and the grounded one," Zatka repeated to himself as he walked. "And of course we have to evolve you, my dear Flynn." He spoke to the pokeball in his pocket despite the fact he was half sure she couldn't hear him.
"I curse the trainers who avoid the internet and telling people where to find pokemon. My tastes are very specific I need them to be exact for the stories I shall tell with you all," he complained as he walked around his gaze wandering the path sides of the path hoping to catch a glimpse of something he wants. "This is going to be harder work than making a dead guy look pretty. Four years of cosmetic college and forensics just to paint dead people."
Which reminds him he still has a few loans to pay off. Hopefully, he'd be able to do so with the money he earns through the competitions. Then he could finally get out of his apartment into a decent sized studio one that takes up an entire floor. He'd no longer have to worry about neighbors when he brings a date home for a night of fun.

It took a few minutes more for a pokemon to pop out. At first, Zatka was excited then it sort of faded as he got a good look at it. He put his hand to his chin as he contemplated the ball before him. It didn't exactly look nice enough to be a show pokemon. Yet part of him pondered what in the world it would become.
"Time to poogle," Zatka decided pulling out his phone and ball. "Here keep it busy while I try to decide whether I can work it into our routine Flynn." He released the water type who flopped once before straightening.
Seriously?! Flynn's eye twitched as she noticed who it was she had to 'keep busy.' Did he have no decorum when it came to recognizing a losing battle? Her presence had the electric type buzzing. It knew prey when it saw it. Flynn flopped away as a bolt of lightning hit the spot where she was. The air crackling with energy.
Hurry up, she practically yelled as she flopped around trying to avoid the thundershocks the magnemite was shooting at her. Her trainer was taking his good old time though. He'd found the pokemon and what it turned into. Apparently, it had some appealing moves but he just couldn't bring himself to really care for it. It was still a good pokemon though and a favorite among serious trainers going for gym challenges.
"Think we should catch it for a trade? Then again they are trainers, not coordinators. I doubt their pokemon could be trained to a different field," he pondered it.
He wouldn't be able to catch it anyway! Like hell, she could make it weak enough for a pokeball when it was all she could do to prevent herself from being fried. She flopped close to him and then away so he could get a bit of a shock from the air. It had him jumping and rubbing his leg and flattening his hair.
"Seriously, don't put me in the middle of things. I said keep him busy not fight with him," Zatka said his attention finally on the pair. "Hmm, oh right electricity is bad for water types."
He pocketed his phone and grabbed the ball once again to return the now wavering finneon. She was tired from all this running around. So when she saw him finally realize her distress she flopped right back over to him disappearing into a beam of light.
"Sorry, dearie I'm afraid you don't make the cut. Good luck in your career of bullying water types though," Zatka said smiling and backing away now that he had no protection. The magnemite looking less than amused sent him speed walking in the opposite direction. It seemed though that it was tired of chasing and just sighed drooping in defeat. Lose. "Oh look another pokemon," Zatka was again left pondering its usefulness. "Flynn keep our new friend company a moment."
She had every right mind to aurora beam his ass as she was called out again. Her amusement fading by the second as she spotted their most recent find. It stared at her a bit in surprise.
"Yeah don't ask he's weird," she told the bronzor.
"Sounds and looks like it," the wild pokemon said the pair watching him hum at his phone. "So we fight or what?"
"I'd prefer not. Nothing but losing battles today. That idiot had me 'entertaining' a magnemite earlier. I'm still tired from running around in circles while he decided whether he wanted it or not," Flynn sighed. The bronze just shook its body back and forth.
"Hey, it's psychic. Think it can talk to me," Zatka said earning unamused looks from both. "What? Just saying it could be useful. I mean it would help me brainstorm with everyone."
"He's still going to go with his own idea anyway. Trust me he isn't worth it, "Flynn said discouraging the bronzor.
"I can honestly tell," it responded and floated away.
"Hey wait, what you do," Zatka asked earning a small body slam from the fish on his foot. "Ow hey!" He returned her disgruntled and left sighing as he continued on his way. So far he'd been striking out hard. Flee [googlefont=Open+Sans] |

Zatka sighed as he spotted another pokemon. It didn't look any better than the other two. It was metallic looking and floating like it was swimming through the air.
"Sorry, but none of your kind are pretty enough to be on stage," Zatka said popping open his pokeball. "Be a dear and chase it off Flynn I'm ready to go home."
Chase it off? She looked at the unamused pokemon before her. It had just been called ugly and now it had been given the chance to take out its frustrations. It bolted forward making Flynn panic and jump over it as it hovered but inches above the ground.
She plopped down and turned around opening her mouth to release a beam. One it charged right through knocking her back and making her roll a bit before coming to a stop. It took her a moment to spot her foe again and she had to jump again quickly using her tail like a spring to just barely make it over.
Another beam and another charge. She was left in too much pain and lay there on her side One more hit and she was done for. Would have been done for if the familiar feeling of being returned hadn't surrounded her.
Zatka took to hiding behind a tree making the illusion they had disappeared. He waited a long moment before making a break for it and finally stopping. Seriously this place was bad juujuu if his pokemon couldn't even take down one foe.
"We ain't coming back here. Not even a single cute pokemon," Zatka said shaking his head as he walked. He'd have to go home and put her back in her bowl to recuperate. Lose [googlefont=Open+Sans] |
