It was evident that the man in front of him could see through him, most people could as he wore his emotions clearly on his face, so he didn't see a reason to attempt to lie. Surprised perhaps by the Aipom, or the quick and sincere apology, or both he uttered out some words that were laced with skepticism. Such a thing was too advanced for the boy, who would lose his sheepish expression and gain a huge smile as he attempted to pry the monkey off of the man's back.

Giving up once it appeared that his Aipom had, for some unknown reason, taken an attachment to the man and refused to be lifted off of him. Sighing with frustration he turned to look at the man as he shot a question toward the boy, causing him to lift his hand to his chin and ponder.

"Mmm, yeah, something like that I guess," he nodded in agreement, though seeming rather serious about his answer nonetheless.

Needing no further confirmation, the patient Elecktrike at his feet released an audible roar that alerted all the wild Pokemon surrounding them in nature to become aware of their position. He didn't necessarily mind, it would save them the trouble of having to search. But he was a bit jealous that he had taught his Pokemon something so cool!

Two rather adorable pokemon appeared from the bushes, eager to investigate and play with the source of the sound. Startled upon seeing humans, the man immediately began working toward defeating the Cherubi rather than the Bulbasaur. This had put Alceides at a predicament, stuck between wanting to capture the cute creature and wanting to defeat it to strengthen his current team. For a split-second, his mind flashed back to his losses and cemented his decision. He needed to become stronger.

"Alright Momo, let's-"

Ready to fight he was preparing to order his Aipom into action, but she had deemed such a thing unnecessary and clung to the other man while he battled. Rubbing the back of his head in exasperation, he wondered how he had ended up with such a fickle starter? His thoughts were disrupted by the eager sounds coming from the Vulpix cradled in his arms. As much as he wanted to strengthen her further, he had neglected the rest of his team unintentionally in doing so.

Detaching one of the balls from his waist, he instead opted to release his reptilian friend Sevper. Emerging from her ball, she coiled herself tightly before bouncing into the air with excitement causing him and Cassandra to giggle. Ophiuchus was incredibly silly, much like Momo, except that she didn't possess the willful soul his monkey did.

"Woah, dodge that Vine Whip!" he cried suddenly, two organic tendrils extending and smacking the snake several times.

In retaliation, the Seviper opened her mouth and released an incredible flame that scorched the poor Bulbasaur and enraging him in the process. Shooting a seed from the bulb on its back, the seed latched onto the snake before extending vines to root it in place.

"Forget about the seed, for now, use Sludge Bomb!"

Trilling in compliance, Ophiuchus kept her mouth open this time shooting forth an orb created from toxins within the belly of the poisonous snake. Despite being partly poison as well, the attack smashed into the Bulbasaur causing moderate damage. Struggling to get to his feet, he was slightly relieved with the Leech Seed.

"Alright, let's end this with Dark Pulse!" he ordered, the Seviper gathering energy at her core before expelling it in a radial blast that knocked the Bulbasaur back into a tree and knocked him out.

"That was so epic! Nice job! All that practice is really becoming obvious, Ophi!"

The boy couldn't stop gushing praise, embarrassing the Seviper who coiled herself up to hide her face. Turning to his current companion, he noted they had dealt with the Cherubi rather quickly.

"Woah, that Pokemon looks so friggin cool! Thanks for watching Aipom, by the way!" he praised the Venipede and thanked the man in the same breath, delivering a typical toothy grin.

The more they talked about the wondrous insect Pokemon, the more Alceides felt the urge to capture one for himself. It didn't matter if it was exactly like the one that Kyle had, though he really favored the idea of one of the same. Making a mental note to stop by Ilex once more, Kyle assured him he'd show the boy its evolved form once the time came. Before long, they were approached by another pair of wild Pokemon.

Alceides' opponent was a gorgeous Pokemon, her hands were two flowers one blue and the other red. It took everything within the boy's instinct not to become enthralled by her beauty, remembering that he was there to train his Pokemon. The Lotad that had popped up before had swayed his training mentality as well, but not on the same level. It was clear that she would be an asset for contests, but there was another grass-type he desired to add to his roster instead.

"It really is a shame, but we're going to have to take it out, Ophiuchus!" he released his Seviper once more, having gotten a rest, to face off against the Roselia.

With an enemy facing her, the Roselia summoned an array of glowing Magical Leaves around her, swirling before she sent them as a projectile. As if on instinct, having been ordered to take care of an attack in a similar manner, the Seviper opened her mouth and released a powerful stream of flames that burned through the leaves and seared the beautiful grass-type. Angered with the turn of events, she released a stun spore that coated the Seviper and sealed her movements from time to time.

"Ophi?! Are you alright?!" he asked concerned, while the Roselia unleashed a rain of poisonous needles that, thankfully, didn't deliver much damage.

As if waiting for such a moment, the Seviper slunk forward and emerged from her previous paralyzed skin and awaited her trainer's command as she stared down the enemy.

"Alright, Ophiuchus use Sludge Bomb! Then finish it with Bite!"

Gathering toxins within her stomach, Ophiuchus hawked up a Sludge Bomb that crashed and exploded once it hit the Roselia. Wobbily regaining her footing, she shot forward another storm of magical leaves that sliced the Seviper. Despite the pain, she moved forward and clamped her fangs viciously into the plant-like Pokemon.
