He was chasing rumors again, and hopefully this time the rumors were right.Now that he had a Fire and a Water-type, he figured, why not complete the entire entourage with a Grass-type so he at least had all the bases covered? The problem here was, what with the news he’d heard about over the radio recently about Pokémon migration patterns getting all scrambled up due to unknown shenanigans of a possibly natural origin, he decided that it would be better to go out and look for them himself as opposed to asking around. I’m a Trainer, after all… half the fun is looking around for whatever you want, right? He thought to himself as he came to a stop in front of what appeared to be a shrine in the Ilex Forest. He’d been going around in the deeper regions of the heavily-wooded area for sometime now, but for some weird, unexplainable reason he hadn’t been having any luck seeking out what he was looking for. Well, nobody’s around… he thought as he idly looked around, before looking down at his Rufflet, Sora, who’d taken to poking around in the ground looking for Berries to eat. “Sora, be careful around here… wouldn’t want to disturb whatever deity or some such that calls this place home,” he said to his companion in a gentle, yet slightly warning tone just in case the Rufflet thought of running around in circles around the shrine while looking for something to snack on. He was killing for a smoke, too, but he knew that leaving anything of that sort carelessly around could potentially cause a huge fire—and no, he didn’t want to be known as the idiot that single-handedly destroyed the Ilex Forest just because of a few embers he didn’t stamp out. He thought he heard a scuffling noise not too far behind him, and slowly turned around to face whatever—or whoever—was headed his way. MADE BY ★MEULK |

He hadn't been to Ilex forest since he'd completed that research with Noelani months back. Even after the supposed shift of wild pokemon across the region Ilex forest hadn't interested much outside the shrine to the forest's protector that he'd most likely do work with as he gained acclaim as a researcher and a professor as a whole. Today he'd been in the forest for LORE work studying the telltale signs of Virus pokemon as he meandered through the undergrowth. It wasn't glamorous work, but any work from his organization was taken very seriously regardless of how insignificant it felt in the moment.
He'd finished the majority of his work about an hour or so ago and now the man seeing as he'd spent so long in the forest figured it'd be best to get some training in while he dealt with the vestiges of the job. As he thought on the training and his team he'd come across another trainer most likely emerald eyes meeting ever so briefly. The dark skinned man had initially just planned to wave and pass the blond-haired man but not even seconds after the casual greeting the brush would begin to shake. Fiercely there were no less than two wild pokemon who'd wanted a piece of their mind.
"Well friend, I suppose we're in it together. I go by Azad." And with that he'd waste no energy pulling a pokeball of his belt releasing a large serpentine dragon.

The Rufflet continued to scratch around in the dirt, before a loud shaking of the nearby undergrowth caught his attention—and a flash of red light caught his attention. His eyebrows went up slightly—as he’d seen this Pokémon only once in his life before, but immediately knew that this was something you don’t mess around with no matter what happened. “Name’s Lars, and that’s Sora,” he said by way of introduction, tilting his head slightly in the direction of the Rufflet who’d found a Bluk berry and had just finished devouring it as they were both rushed by a couple of wild Pokémon. Both of which were native to his home region, unsurprisingly. “Sora, go for the Shroomish and start off with Hone Claws,” he began, as the Grass-type then frowned at the Flying-type before releasing a singular seed aimed right at the Rufflet. As the Flying-type prepared for the next attack by flashing its talons threateningly at the Shroomish, the singular seed hit the Rufflet’s head feather before falling to the ground—and quickly growing to surround it and extending its roots back to where the Shroomish was now preparing for a Headbutt attack. Oh, shit. Okay that was unexpected… he thought, his face set into a grim stare as he recognized the Leech Seed attack. “Be careful, Sora!” he called out as the Flying-type let out a cry of surprise at the roots that had grown all over it. “Hold your ground, Leer at it!” he added a few moments later—and despite the Headbutt hitting the Flying-type head-on, the Rufflet then glowered at the Grass-type in its best attempt. Hoping that it did work, the Flying-type then felt its energy drain slightly, before the Shroomish came back and attempted to use a Mega Drain on it—only for the Rufflet to suddenly charge forward, its wings spread out and catching the Grass-type as it rushed him head-on with a Wing Attack move out of self-defense. Ooh, didn’t know he could do that… well, let’s see how this goes, he thought to himself as the Shroomish then skidded away, before attempting another Headbutt attack. “Catch it again as it comes close!” he continued a few moments later as the Grass-type came barreling in with aforementioned Headbutt attack—but at the same time that got Lars thinking, since the Shroomish’s face was mostly part of its body, didn’t that mean that the Headbutt was more like a Body Slam…? Shaking his head for the briefest of moments, he then heard the Rufflet let out a war cry (or what he assumed was a war cry) as Sora spread his wings even wider and smacked the Shroomish head on once again with its Wing Attack, before skidding out of the way this time. As another little bit of energy left him and went back to the Grass-type, the Rufflet then flapped its wings and this time took the fight to the Grass-type, smacking both its wings head-on in another Wing Attack at the surprised Shroomish who didn’t see it coming. “Drive it back, you can do it!” he added a few moments later, and the Rufflet cawed in the Shroomish’s direction, before Leering at the Grass-type again—at the same time it attempted to use another Mega Drain attack. Despite the energy draining from the Flying-type, it didn’t work so much—before another Wing Attack smacked the Shroomish bodily, forcing it backwards into the brush. MADE BY ★MEULK |

Azad's battle was nowhere near as majestic as the handsome man's at his side. But Azad didn't quite necessarily need the fight to be majestic as his was simply much faster the great disparage in the two pokemon's levels showing just how out classed the small bug type was despite its beauty. Azad didn't flinch in his order arms crossed, "Dragon Rage" and in a single sphere of purple fire surrounded by what could only have been electricity the beautifly was engulfed the flames and sparks only fading when the orb and the pokemon hit by it collided into a tree no less than forty feet away. Kreiss would simply watch curiously as his attack flew farther and farther away before the duo turned their attention to the seconddary battle, one that seemed at least somewhat more hard fought than their own.
Azad was familiar with the grass type pokemon, a pokemon discovered in the hoenn region shroomish was actually quite interesting if only for its evolved form its spores were often used in a number of medicines and meals alike and were oft said to have a certain rejuvenating factor. The bird pokemon however was a bit more curious. Rufflet were only native in Unova or so he was taught and finding one so far away from the region known for its towering skyscrapers and modern aesthetic definitely elicited a raised eyebrow from the silver-haired trainer.
Still the man commanded the bird well and in minutes the battle had ended with the flying type serving as a victor not surprisingly. Azad would offer two claps as the shroomish finally collapsed more than entertained enough. That said the trainer wasn't that powerful and with the reports he'd received about the Virus Azad didn't feel comfortable leaving a trainer not yet powerful alone in the wilderness when certain threats possibly roamed the area.
"Lars, correct? I was impressed with your fight would you like some company as you traverse the forest?" Azad would watch out for the man, but it'd also allow him give the forest a second look and perhaps get a fair amount of training in as well. The sapphire dragon would simply watch the newcomer and his bird with mild curiosity as well. "Oh I apologize, I go by Azad this lithe assistant of mine is Kreiss. A pleasure."

“Traveling alone in a place like this isn’t always the best,” he began in response, looking up at the canopy above him. “Not to mention who knows what the hell’s waiting beyond this shrine,” he added a few moments later. Taking the name to the face, he then noted it down before turning to look at the serpentine companion Azad had. “Where’d you find Kreiss? I know they’re damn rare, at least where I come from,” he asked the other a few moments later. While he already had a Dragon-type in the form of his Bagon, Gabriel, he was still on the lookout for more Dragon-types to train. Never mind if it took an eternity to raise them, the end results were always something to look forward to. Kind of like how I’m with Gabe right now. One hell of a cinnamon roll no matter how many ways you look at it. It’s nuts… he thought to himself. Before he could agree to the offer the other had extended his way, the undergrowth not too far ahead shook before a blur—two of them, actually—followed after the first two. Apparently drawn to the racket we caused… he continued in the back of his mind, before nodding in Sora’s direction. “Take care of the vines. No way am I going to have those wrap around my neck and strangle me,” he began towards his Flying-type; and the Rufflet shot forward with a screeching noise that sounded like a gleeful exclamation. Wasting no time, the Flying-type led the charge with a Wing Attack right as the Tangela laid its roots deep with Ingrain. While that meant the Grass-type was basically stuck where it stood, Lars couldn’t help but wonder— how the hell did the Tangela find shoes in the first place?Brushing that silly thought aside, the Grass-type then lashed out at the Rufflet with a Vine Whip attack, but it did almost nothing to the Flying-type even as it got hit. The Rufflet let out a squawk of dismay, before using Leer in the Grass-type’s direction, causing the other to seemingly back away several steps due to the hideous face the Flying-type had tossed in its direction. “Be careful over there, Sora!” he called out, as the Tangela lashed out with a Constrict attack, extending its vines as long as it could manage in an attempt to snag the Rufflet. “Evade!” he continued a few moments later as the Rufflet was suddenly tripped to the grass as the vines managed to reach its stubby legs—and from the annoyed squawking noise it made, he knew that the Flying-type wasn’t too pleased. Oh shit, I know what that squawk means… he mused as the Rufflet then reached down to rip the vines off and then flashed its claws threateningly at the Tangela; having used Hone Claws in preparation for lashing out the moment he got close enough. The Tangela, on the other hand, lashed out again with another Vine Whip attack while recovering some health thanks to the Ingrain it had done at the start of the encounter. But then again, maybe staying in one place wasn’t a good idea. “Wrap it up, Sora!” he added a few moments later, as the Rufflet charged forward despite the ongoing Vine Whip barrage and smacking the Tangela right in the face with an up-close and personal Wing Attack, smacking the vines out of the way. As the Tangela alternated between Constrict and Vine Whip as the Rufflet continued to lash out with a continuous Wing Attack, smacking it from as many sides as it could possibly reach. Eventually, the Tangela was uprooted from where it had planted itself and was batted back into the undergrowth by the irate Rufflet, who then walked back to where Lars stood watching, a knowing grin on his face. “He can get pretty violent at times. Dunno why,” he said in Azad’s direction a few moments later, watching his companion pluck at its feathers in an attempt to clean himself. MADE BY ★MEULK |

As the two wandered deeper into the forest the conversation progressed ever so casually emerald eyes flickering from man back to the forest every so often the shuffling of pokemon and nature always drawing an eye the rumors and intel he'd received about the forest putting the man more on edge than he would have liked. Eyes drift back to the trainer as Kreiss is brought up. "Nowhere close. We met some time ago at the safari zone, but I doubt you'll have any luck finding one quite like him sad to say. A small smirk would come, "Perhaps...that's a good thing." In response the dragon type would huff lowering himself slightly as he weaved around the tree trunks a tail lightly slapping the white haired trainer's back.

"A joke of course." Before the two could continue another two pokemon would appear a tangela particularly interested in his new companion starting a second battle. In seconds a second pokemon would appear most likely an ally of sorts to the tangela emerald eyes scanning the pokemon's bodies for odd markings or wounds before calling Kreiss forward. "Kreiss you're on."
The dragon would quickly land coiling itself on the ground eyes focused on its latest target. The tangela was still engaged with Lars and so the dragon would focus on the larger pokemon, the tropius didn't seem to inclined to battle but with his overly touchy friend having started the battle the dinosaur had no choice but to back his partner up.

Sadly it wasn't much of a fight much like with the beautifly the gap was simply too large for the tropius to put up a decent fight and so after a dragon rage the tropius found itself on its last legs an amalgamation of sparks and burns layering the grass types body it'd manage to unleash a leaf storm and a powerful one at that a whirlwind of leaves striking the dragon causing a cry sharper than Azad could have expected. "Breakthrough with Dragon Rush!" And so the dragon would blast through remainder of the hurricane slamming into the tropius promptly knocking the grass type out. A glance at Lars revealed the man's battle had concluded. Before the two could continue on however Azad would dig in his bag retrieving a pair of white gloves and a vial inspecting the fallen pokemon's body scrapping cells off the fallen pokemon's corpse. It was no doubt a strange site for the fellow trainer. After moving from the tropius the man would do the same for the tangela a rather relieved look on his face when all was said and done.

His lab coat would sway as he stood facing Lars once more. "I know this is a bit odd my friend but bare with me. I'm a researcher or an aspiring one at least as well as a trainer. I'm observing certain changes in the forest particularly with the pokemon who've made their homes here. The odd rumors surrounding the forest's pokemon as of late was one of the reasons I suggested we travel together." He'd speak while removing his gloves carefully placing his gear back in his bag. In minutes he'd be ready to go.

“To be fair, I’d always wanted to know…did you find the migration patterns of most of the Pokémon a bit off-putting? I’ve only arrived quite recently in Johto myself, and I was looking for certain Pokémon in certain areas. However what I encountered was something I wasn’t exactly expecting to appear there. Mind, this happened over in the Ice Path area…which now has Fire-types. You think the same happened over here?” he pondered out loud, before looking deeper into the forest proper. He could only guess what was waiting in the undergrowth up ahead, before turning his attention back to Azad once again, deep in thought. “I only heard about the migration mix-up over the radio. Do you think that has something to do with what you’re investigating out here as well?” he asked a few moments later. Before he could add on to that train of thought, he saw two more Pokémon appeared from up ahead, no doubt drawn by the noise that they’d caused. The Carnivine wasted no time and shot towards the Rufflet, extending some of its limbs and launching a Vine Whip attack aimed at the Flying-type. “Dodge that, Sora!” he began, and the Rufflet literally barrel-rolled out of the way as the Grass-type attack whistled overhead, barely skimming past the Rufflet’s prominent head-feather. Letting out a squawk, the Flying-type then charged forward, spreading his wings wide in a Wing Attack and smacking the Carnivine upside the head with it. As the Grass-type let out a shriek of surprise, the Rufflet then skidded away, observing the Grass-type warily. “Prep your attack, Hone Claws and try to intimidate it!” he continued, watching as the Flying-type then flashed its leg-talons in a menacing manner, before letting out what sounded like a war cry and staring the Carnivine down. The Grass-type wasn’t going to take that for an answer and responded in kind with a Sweet Scent—as a sickly-sweet odor then permeated through the area. While it distracted Lars for a few moments, the Carnivine then charged forward and lashed out again with another Vine Whip attack, catching the Rufflet by surprise. Not to be outdone, the Grass-type then rushed forward and opened its gigantic maw in a Bite attempt. “Sora! Don’t zone out and block that!” he called out a few moments later, and the Rufflet had a few moments to react before letting out a screech of surprise and smacking the Carnivine with another Wing Attack just as it began to sink its fangs down on the Flying-type. That is just disturbing… he thought as the Carnivine reared back out of surprise the moment the Rufflet’s attack connected, before the Rufflet Leered in the Grass-type’s direction, forcing the Carnivine to stop for a few moments. “Sweep in and drive it back!” he added once the Rufflet had backed away enough—and then began attacking it rather furiously, hitting as many parts of the Grass-type as it could reach with a Fury Attack. As if that wasn’t enough, after the third strike, the Rufflet then spread his wings wide and propelled himself forward in another Wing Attack, driving the Carnivine backwards and away—shrieking in the process as it vanished into the undergrowth. “…is it just me or are the wild Pokémon getting more aggressive than usual?” he asked Azad a few moments later, after the Rufflet had waddled back to him and he’d fluffed up the white circle of feathers around its face for a job well done.
