Temple was so used to the idea of it being him and Abra, that the very thought of coming across other pokemon or even acquiring other pokemon just never crossed his mind. Never ever, ever. He was perfectly happy with his partner, and he liked to think Abra was also happy with him too. Neither one got to choose to be together, it was more of an assigned pairing before he set off to the Johto region simply because his gut told him to. People were worried about his mental state as a medium, and everyone knows that people with psychic tendencies tend to have a psychic pokemon with them to help control and tame the 'spells' as a previous encounter had called them. But although it felt like a forced marriage, the two got along well. Sure, Abra sometimes decided to just vanish completely and go missing for hours, but when the two were together, they were very sweet.
"Ah~" cried his partner pokemon, a soothing little sound as they walked down route 29, or rather, as Temple walked down Route 29. He was actually carrying Abra in his arms, holding him underneath his arms as his legs dangled above the ground. It didn't look comfortable, but they were both happy.
"What is it?" Temple asked, glancing down at the yellow pokemon as he, too, looked up and stared at him. There was no response though, just a long glare before he carried on looking ahead.
Shrugging, he carried onward, totally oblivious to the fact that 'wild pokemon' were a thing and that he shouldn't be so careless right now..

shy, DOCILE, PLAYFUL; teleport --- --- --- --- --- | Plod, plod, plod. Abra's body moved with each step his trainer took. He wriggled a little bit to get more comfortable, and although it would make sense for him to literally just float alongside Temple, he did secretly enjoy being babied at times. What were trainer's for if they didn't put in a little bit of elbow grease every now and then, right? After all, Abra was always helping Temple out with his psychic abilities. Well, that's what he told himself anyway. Turns out Abra hadn't lifted a single finger to help his trainer in that regard, it was just too much effort at the moment. Abra wanted to just enjoy life and take every day as it comes, no need to bog himself down with daily tasks.

It was seemingly peaceful, all he wanted to do was go on a walk to clear his head. Perhaps even visit in a nearby town and spend the rest of the day there, depending how long this route was. Honestly, he wasn't too sure, he didn't go near many routes (or if he did, he doesn't remember). But as Temple opened his mouth to speak, his Abra had used teleport from completely out of nowhere.
There was a distorted ripping sound as air and space rippled in a blur of pink and purple lights. After a split second, Temple found himself standing in a position where he was about 5 seconds ago, "Hey? Why make this walk harder for me?" Pouting, he looked down at Abra, who just let out a sigh.
Glancing up to where they originally were ahead, he saw a small pokemon lunge towards the ground, striking it with his foot and kicking up lots of dust. Did it just try to attack them?
A little bit of panic creeped up his spine, making his stomach tie into a knot as he held Abra a little tighter. "Wh- What?!" He exclaimed, shocked how a pokemon would randomly attack like that, but also at how perceptive his Abra was with avoiding the attack.
Disgruntled by missing his attempt at a low kick, the mankey would stomp on the ground and throw a tantrum. Temple and Abra exchanged glances, then looked back at the angry pokemon. So caught up in its rage and anger, it would hardly notice the trainer and his pokemon further back down the pathway and take its little rampage somewhere else.

Do you think they're all like this?" Worried, he waited a few moments after the mankey had left before hesitantly taking a few steps forwards. The pokemon was no longer in sight anymore, so he was fairly confident that it had now left the area. Sighing, he then hurried forwards, running a short bit to make up for the distance he lost. The sooner he got out of this place, the better.
Temple was quite unused to the idea of wild pokemon, so had no idea how frequently they'd show up. Honestly, he thought that mankey would be the only one, so was rather surprised when he heard more strange cries and a rustle in the grass. "Oh no, not again..." Temple braced himself for an incoming attack, waiting for his Abra to teleport them to safety somewhere and narrowly dodge another angry pokemon. However, he just waited, and waited, and waited. Nothing had happened, even the cries and rustling continued to carry on.
Slowly, he'd take a few slow steps towards the sound, pushing himself up over an earthen ledge before placing his Abra on the ground beside him. Curiosity had now got the better of him, and Temple had swiftly made his way towards a large rustling bush. "H- Hello?" He'd call out, not so loud that it might startle whatever was there. Stepping around the large bush, he'd see two small legs poking out from the top, tangled in vines. Blinking a couple of times, he slowly stretched out a hand and tapped the foot, which caused the pokemon to thrash even more. "H- Hey, don't worry! I'm going to get you out."
Glancing over at Abra, he gave him a quizzical look and shrugged. What else was Temple supposed to do? He couldn't just leave the pokemon here.
Worried at first, he reached out with hands and grabbed tightly around both ankles. With a slight tug, he gradually pulled out the pokemon from the greenery bit by bit. After one mighty pull, Temple went flying back and landed on his rear, followed by the small machop landing on his head. "Owww!" He looked up, gently pushing the machop off his head and placing him on the ground in front of him. Both looked at each other curiously, staring for a few seconds before both laughing.
"Oh dear! I do hope you're okay. Hahahaha!" Scratching the back of his head, the machop would nod before pulling the vines from his ankles. Looks like he had been caught up in some kind of fight with a grass-type. Cheering, the machop would jump into the air and leap forwards, clinging onto Temple's arm with no intent on letting go.
Unsure how to react, Temple merely just stood up and smiled at his Abra. Had he made a friend? Why was it not letting go? Either way, his psychic type pokemon really wasn't very keen on the new addition...[ OOC ] @ catching the machop! -1 pokeballMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS
