it's not a duck, but totodile waddles when he walks. it's amusing to watch; his legs are too short to rise, bend, and push properly, so he's left with the only option to transfer his weight one foot at a time. theo diverts his eyes away for a moment as he reads totodile's pokedex entry. he's not unfamiliar with the pokemon, just this one in particular. he's more concerned on slasher's abilities and weaknesses, learning what to do, and what not to do. when he looks back up, slasher's gone off sprinting.

"slasher, stop!"

he calls out after him, but as totodile continues half-sprinting, half-waddling, he's forced to quicken his pace to keep up. his pace doesn't quicken much, but that's because totodile isn't trying to sprint away. he's just exploring, curious, as his head swivels left and right; eyes taking in everything in awe. theo wonders who his previous owner was, and why the totodile seems so interested in everything. had it been sheltered? he'll never know.

when theo finally catches up, he gives the water-type a gentle tap with his foot. "can you calm down a bit? you're acting like a kid." slasher is probably still one. sighing, theo picks up sounds coming from up above. he peers up and sees a starly diving straight at slasher for a QUICK ATTACK. he has enough time to react, but he decides to keep his mouth shut and let the water-type take the hit. starly connects, knocking slasher off his feet.

chuckling, theo backs away to stay clear of the battle. "you gonna take that, slasher? it's a fucking bird." snarling, slasher jumps to his feet and lives up to his name, SLASHing with his sharp claws. he takes off some feathers off the bird, causing it to GROWL in pain. it rams its entire bird-body into slasher, TACKLEing him. shrugging off the pain, the water-type's fangs started to lower in temperature.

smoke graces his jaws as he lunges forward, FANGS as cold as ICE. one snap, and the bird goes down.

slasher's young and immature, but maybe it's what makes him a decent fighter. he's unpredictable like that; no one can predict what a child would do, much like how theo can't predict slasher's movements. some see it as a weakness, and while theo's usually a pessimist, he can't help but feel a bit biased about his totodile.

after the battle, slasher stands victorious over the fallen bird. he gloats in his victory by snapping his jaws in the air while circling the bird. "alright, alright, that's enough." theo shakes his head and steps in between slasher and the starly. he reaches down low and scoops the body of the bird up before tossing it over into some nearby bushes. "don't toy with your food, slasher boy."

the two proceed with their walk, venturing further down the route. at this point, theo's given up on trying to rob some poor kid. he knows it's unlikely he'll run into anyone here, let alone steal something with a totodile that doesn't listen. so, he decides he might as well get a bit of battling done with slasher, to maybe somehow better educate the water-type.

their next opponent is a pidgey who's unfortunate enough to dare fly close to them. "slasher, focus up!" his voice booms as he commands. he points to the pidgey, then takes a step back. "ICE FANG that lil' shit." cool words transferred to slasher's jaw as his teeth chill to a lower temperature. he lunges forward and snaps his jaw, biting pidgey by its wing.

startled, pidgey tries to retaliate with a TACKLE only to fall victim to another ICE FANG. their close proximity works against the pidgey as slasher favors being close. he's small but fast; being close allows him to be deadly. it doesn't take slasher long to finish the battle with a:

"SLASH."

[attr="class","aaa"]one by one they fell victim to slasher's ferocity; but really, he's just trying to have a good time. it's just unlucky that he considers battling and devouring his opponents a good time. when the pidgey goes down and hits the ground, slasher doesn't waste a moment before jumping on top of it, snapping his jaws up like a crazed pokemon.

"what did i say about toying with your food?"

with a sigh, theo steps over to the scene of the ongoing incident and looks down at his totodile. what's fucking wrong with him? he ponders to himself as he watches slasher maul on the fainted skull of the pidgey. it's a miracle its head isn't destroyed, or at the very least broken. it's definitely bruised, though, and for a moment theo feels bad for it.

that moment doesn't last very long; not because of his lack of sympathy, although that's one of the reasons, but because a shinx makes its appearance in the most annoying way possible. it TACKLEs slasher with SPARKs bouncing off its body, both damaging and electrocuting him at the same time.

theo's taken aback by the sudden attack for a moment, but quickly regains his composure as he watches slasher smack face-first into the ground. he stifles a chuckle and rises to his feet, dusting his palms together. he'll let slasher handle this one; he looks like he needs the exercise.

slasher is at a natural disadvantage, but he doesn't fight like it. the boy doesn't back down, instead he charges in jaw-first but turns at the very last second, smacking his AQUA TAIL into the shinx. he doesn't stop running. his jaw shoots forward and snaps shut, CRUNCHing into the poor electric-type who's left with no option but to flail and surround itself with SPARK.

somehow, slasher tanks through the damage, embracing it as he shakes his entire body, and with it, the shinx. his shaking grows in intensity to the point where it appears like he has a SUPERPOWER.

shinx is probably dead.
