"AHH!" she exclaimed, a small flash of yellow jumping past her face and out into the open grass with a rather irritated look on its face. In the Pokemon's arms were a few small berries that it seemed to be enjoying and Haruka took the moment to take out her pokedex and scan the small pointy yellow and black colored pokemon.

"A Pichu eh? Electric. So my Squirtle wont be good against it.. I guess its up to you Honou," she said to her Cyndaquil who squee'd and waddled to stand in front of Haruka. This would be her first ever pokemon battle, and while she was a bit nervous, the site of the cute and small pokemon she faced was soothing. 'At least it wasn't a tough pokemon.'

"Alright Honou give it a taste of your smokescreen!" she commanded, the Cyndaquil giving a nod before opening its mouth and letting out a plethora of smoke to consume the small mouse pokemon. With the smoke surrounding the area, it would be hard for the Pichu to target and hit Honou in return, and Honou also could not see it use it's Charming move, thus Cyndaquil was not captivated by the small pokemon.

"Alright good! Now finish it hard with a flamewheel!" she asked, the excitement of everything working her way pushing her farther. As commanded, vibrant flames erupted from the Cyndaquil's back before it took off and began tumbling forward in a circle. This was a move they practiced together for quite the while, mostly against trees and makeshift dummies; so the feeling of it hitting the pichu must have been rewarding.

The flame wheel tore through the pitch black smoke, taking the Pichu by surprise and slamming into it hard. The damage dealt was massive, and the force enough to send it flying back into the grass behind it where it would rest.

Haruka took a moment, the realization that she won her battle finally settling in where she ran up to Honou and picked it up to twirl it around. "YAAAA! WE DID IT HONOU! We won our first pokemon battle." Showing her pokemon affection she held it tight against her chest before running back to her bike and giving it a piece of food. "Do you feel up to doing more?" she asked politely, in her heart she hoped Honou would, and the reaffirming nod set them farther down the path.

"Lets go find more Pokemon!"

It didn't take long for Haruka and Honou to come across another pokemon. The two of them didn't even have to ride to far from where they were at before they came face to face with the glimmering body of a metallic pokemon. Curious she stopped to watch the levitating body shimmy around before she took out her pokedex to scan it. She was sure that she had seen a similar creature before, but upon receiving the detailed analysis, her suspicions were confirmed.

"A ma-magna-mite....--whatever," she finished sliding the red object back in her similar colored jacket, "Okay Honou just like before okay? I'm sure it will work!" she cheered before setting the Pokemon down on the ground, the Magnemite turning around to see the two of them and gaze upon them with a puzzled expression, at least with what she guessed was a puzzled expression.

With a squell of affirmation, and a nod, Honou stepped forward, the same fire erupting from it's back in its excitement. "Okay Honou use smoke--," but before she could confirm the command, the magnemite sensed its danger and instinctively lashed out, giving off a loud THUMMM in response, the sound causing the Cyndaquils body to lock up.

Honou was confused!

"Oh no Hon--!" she couldn't finish before a blaring amount of pitch black smoke ended up in her own face, causing her to cough and wave it away, "Ack Honou!" she cried out, getting lower to pick up her pokemon. In it's confusion, it ended up using the attack on her instead, and out of desperation for herself and her pokemon she picked up the cyndaquil out of the darkness and ran away fast, putting all of the distance she could between herself and that pokemon.

After pushing cyndaquil in the bike basket for a while she finally stopped running, panting from being out of breath before giving her pokemon a glance over. He no longer looked confused, but did appear to be terribly guilty for having used smokescreen on her. In return Haruka laughed and brushed off the smoke remnants from her face before picking Honou up to hold it. [break][break]
"It's okay Honou, I know you didn't mean it...what do you say to trying again?" as expected, he responded with a nod before taking the offered pokemon treat in its claws.

Unlike their previous luck, and the fact that Haruka was a bit more cautious, they did not run into another pokemon for a few hours. In that time she did a bit of rock climbing, resting under a tree, playing with Honou and rummaging through the grass once more. It wasn't until the sun began to set that the flicker of light illuminating in a field caught her attention.

After heading down the hill, the group of flocked pokemon came into sight, and she scanned one to get its information. 'Mareep; the wool Pokemon. Its fluffy coat swells to double when static electricity builds up. Touching it can be shocking.'
[break][break]"Oh it's so cute! I have to catch one," she said out loud, looking at the fluffy pokemon in it's herd, "but how to get one away, I don't want to fight the whole flock," she mumbled looking over the half dozen that rolled around in the grass.
[break][break] Coming up with a plan she took out her storage of pokemon food she obtained from her father before setting out and began placing them out on the grass in a trail back away from the group as a whole. After she felt a comfortable distance away, she waited, and quite patiently for the waggle of a illuminated tail to make its way up.

"Okay Honou use smoke screen now!" Haruka said loudly, getting the attention of not only her pokemon but the Mareep as well, its reaction was to let out a static shock. It was fortunate that Honou was not close enough for it to hit, the smokescreen being delivered from a safe distance away.
[break][break] The black smoke consumed the pokemon just like the Pichu before, and Honou was ready to hit it again. "Quickly Honou, use flame wheel while it can't see!"
[break][break] Fire burst from its back, the familiar roll of the cyndaquils body propelling it forward to land a direct hit onto the panicked mareep. Barreling through the smokescreen, it pushed them both out from the black cloud, Honou landing on its feet while the mareep struggled to stand back up after that. 'Now while it's weak!'
[break][break]"Great Job Honou!" she said as she lunged the pokeball at the Mareep, its bounce causing it to unlock and open, the iconic flash of light consuming the wild pokemon into the pokeball. It landed on the ground with a dull thud, wiggling as the pokemon inside attempted to escape. Haruka watched with intense eyes and her fingers crossed!
