Mizuho Tenkawa

There was a rattle in the bushes near here and the same 'roar' could be heard from the fledgling dinosaur. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at the little pokemon as it made it's adorable noises. Her eyes sparkled some more before snapping out of it as she saw the pokemon turned to look towards her, opening it's mouth to reveal it's budding, yet razor-sharp teeth. Grimacing, she pulled out the pokeball containing her newest buddy, Sasha, the Electrike. Clearing her throat, she looked at the Tyrunt again and her eyes returned to sparkling. With a quick bark from Sasha, she returned to her senses.

She pointed at the Tyrunt. "Sasha, use Thunderwave," she shouted out as the Electrike roared, causing snaps of electricity to surround the Tyrunt before paralyzing it. A frown came across her face as the Tyrunt had a look of pain in it's eyes, not being able to move. There was torment in her eyes as she held out the pokeball meant for Sasha and recalled her, pulling out the pokeball with Rikka in it and threw it out. Rikka looked around, trying to find Rex. A look of anger and frustration constantly written upon her face. She waved her hand to get Rikka's attention and pointed to the Tyrunt, who looked more and more upset. This caused the poor Machop to raise it's hands up in fear.

"Stop goofing around! Low Kick that thing!" she said as Rikka walked over to it, cautiously, deathly afraid of the little critter than Mizuho just couldn't stop adoring. A frown came across Mizuho's face as she knew that this low-kick would probably hurt the adorable Tyrunt. Moving first, Rikka swept the leg, causing the Tyrunt to fall on it's side. Comedic tears fell from Mizuho's eyes. "I'm SO SORRY Tyruuuuuuunt," she said before pulling out one of her Safari balls, grasps it firmly, and threw it at the little-armed dinosaur.

There was a little 'plonk' as the Safari ball hit the pokemon upon the head, bouncing up and then shot out a red light, pulling the Tyrunt in. Her eyes sparkled and her hands were clasped, as if in prayer. "C'mon! I don't want to hurt you any more, my cute guy!" she said as she watched the ball wiggle and waggle.

And Click! Mizuho balled her hand up into a fist and shot it into the air in victory! "Yes! We got it!" she shouted out as the ball stopped rolling. She ran up to Rikka and started to pat the Machop upon the head, congratulating her on a job well-done. It seemed Rikka thoroughly enjoyed the compliments to her skills and showed it enthusiastically. The rush of dopamine running through Rikka's body did more for her than any pokesweets could and a look of genuine happiness was written upon her face, even going as far as hugging Mizuho with her over-developed arms. Returning the hug, the Pokemon Ranger felt pure elation on having gained Rikka's trust, finally, without needing to reinforce what she needed with a pokesweet, pokepuff, or anything of that nature.

After spending ample time with the Machop, she went over and picked up the Safari Ball and placed it into her stash, not necessarily putting it into her party right now. As an added bonus for Rikka's victory, she put the Machop upon her shoulders like one would their very small child to let her see the word from just above her perspective. The Machop's eyes widen as she grabbed Mizuho's hair and pointed out. She replied with a few slaps to the top of Mizuho's head, which actually FRIGGIN HURRRRRRT! Having had enough of that, Mizuho pulled out Rikka's pokeball and zapped her back into the pokeball. Certainly, Rikka would remember the experience she just had for quite a while.

Mizuho squatted and rubbed the top of her head, feeling welts appearing everywhere that the overpowered Machop slapped her. There was a little groan in pain as she tried to smooth out the bumps upon her now-lumpy head. After regaining her composure, she stood up and continued her way through the Grassland section of the Safari. She walked around, seeing small critters running around, nothing too amazing. It was then that she heard a haunting cry, causing her to turn around, expecting to have heard it from behind her; actually unable to trace where the sound came from. She turned around once more, seeing what was left of a vanishing specter before seeing it appear right in front of her; a creature with bright blue flames.

With a loud yelp, she instinctively threw out the ball containing Rex and summoned him, pointing at the creature and shouting, "Rex, Crunch!" she said before the Growlithe leapt onto the Ghost pokemon and started to bite at part of the melting wax, gnawing on it like a puppy knowing on a toy. The Ghost vanished from view only to appear out of the Growlithe's mouth before Growlithe leapt towards it only for it to disappear once again. The Litwick did this several times and made a sound as if it was laughing at the frustrated Growlithe. Deciding to end this charade, Mizuho pulled out another Safari ball and 'thonk' right on the Litwick's head, causing it to attempt to fade from view, once again, but the pokeball was smart enough to get a lock-on and zap the Litwick, forcing it inside.

Another encounter came around and a squacking noise could be heard as a small pokemon showed up, flapping it's wings a few times. It appeared to act a bit squirrely, twitching to the most sudden movements and even let out a loud 'squack' as Mizuho ran into it. It took a defensive posture as the Pokemon Ranger, seeing the wings, immediately knew this thing was a flying type. She pulled out a pokeball from her pocket and threw it out with the pokemon, Electrike, appearing from the ball. It let out a little roar before Mizuho pointed at the flappy-pokemon and shouted, "Thunder Wave!" she said as the Electrike, nicknamed Sasha, let out a roar before sparks popped around the Archen, paralyzing it.

The Archen responded to this with quick movement, causing her and Sasha to see multiple versions of the Archen, as it flapped it's little wings. She thought to herself and thought about her team composition. This thing completely walls and destroys her entire team comp. The Pokemon Ranger made a bold decision, issuing another command to Sasha, "Sasha! Return," she said as she held her pokeball out and recalled the Electrike. Knowing that she will potentially put her Growlithe in danger, she had faith that he could do what was needed. She pulled out the much bigger pokeball and threw it out, bringing Rex out.

The little Growlithe let out a little bark and huffed and puffed a bit, panting with his tongue out. She pointed back at the Archen as it stopped, dead in it's tracks, due to paralysis. She shouts out. "Rex, use Outrage!" she shouted out before Rex turned to look at her for confirmation. With a little nod, the Growlithe turned back towards the paralyzed Archen and started to build up rage. Foam started to froth at the Growlithe's mouth before it leapt upon the Archen, ignoring the clones, and started to claw-into and tear into it. The Archen swung it's wing at the outraged Growlithe only for it to shrug off the attack.
This happened again and again until the Archen collapse, causing the Growlithe to walk away in a daze.

Feathers popped up as the Growlithe walked away from the Archen. A little grimace came upon Mizuho's face before she recalled the Growlithe. Walking over to the knocked out Archen, she caressed the creature's head and apologized to it.

"Ew! What the heck is that!" Mizuho shouted out before throwing the pokeball containing Rikka at the Lickitung, clonking it upon the head before the Machop showed up. She turned around, looking hopeful at Mizuho before she pointed at the disgusting tub-of-lard, shouting out with her eyes closed. "Dynamic Punch that thing! Ew Ew EW!!!" she shouted out before the Machop pulled it's arm back and gave a single punch to the Lickitung, launching it backwards, causing it to collide with the tree. Mizuho shouted out in victory for a brief moment as the Machop (Named Rikka) ran over to her and the two exchanged a high-five! "That was awesome, Rikka! You're pretty strong!" she said as the Machop started to pace-in-place and nodded her head, excited for the praise given to her.

Appearing from the dust, the Lickitung gazed at the Machop and Mizuho with glowing red eyes. There was a look of anger and range sprouting from the Lickitung as it lashed out at the Machop, licking it. Paralyzed in fear, the Machop paused for a moment. Clearing her throat, she pulled the Machop back into the pokeball and called forth her Electrike. The Electrike let out a little growl before Kaori pointed at the creature. "Thunderwave that thing!" she shouted as the same sparkling effect surrounded the Lickitung. It stopped moving. This gave Mizuho a bit of time to think. She rifled through her bag to see what medicine she had and she let out a deep sigh. If only she had a Lum berry, Rikka would be good to go. She called the Electrike back and threw the Machop back in.

"I know you're in a bad spot right now, Rikka, but you can do this!" she said as both of the pokemon stood still, stuck in paralysis. "Let's do this, Rikka! Do another Dynamic Punch!" she said as the Machop raised it's hands up, breaking free of the paralysis and launched herself forward, smashing her fist into the Lickitung, launching it into outerspace. A little twinkle left behind to signify that the Lickitung was LONG gone. "Alright! I knew you could do it, Rikka!" she said as she walked over and highfived the Machop. Due to the Machop being paralyzed, she accidentally palmed the Machop's face. After profusely apologizing, she returned the pokemon back into the pokeball.

After the encounter with the Lickitung, Mizuho shook herself off, trying to rid herself of what she believed to be absolutely disgusting. She shook her head, regained her bearings and continued down the path. More of the same happened with a bunch of young, wild pokemon running around, hiding as she approached. She stopped to take breather, pulling out her canteen and taking a sip before she heard the sounds of metal scraping upon each other. She stopped, dropped her canteen at the sight of a living blade. She let out an earth shattering 'EEEEEP' before pulling out her Lotad, throwing it at the living sword.

The Lotad, named Boat, came out of the pokeball and instantly gave it a look to astonish. This caused the living blade to pause for a moment. After recalling the Lotad, she quickly brought in the Electrike who promptly performed a Thunderwave upon the Honedge. Thankfully, the fact that the pokemon was paralyzed for this moment. She took this time to withdraw the Electrike and put in Rex. Rex doused the area with fire, causing the Honedge to scream out in agony; the scream sounding like metal scraping upon itself. This caused her to hold her ears in pain.

Reaching for one of the pokeballs at her hip, she clicked it with one hand while covering her left ear with the other. With a quick throw, the ball clocked the Honedge. The standard red-beam from the Pokeball shot out of it. The Honedge resisted but ultimately lost out in the end, getting pulled into the ball. As the Honedge entered the ball, both her and the Growlithe sighed in relief; relief that the ear-piercing noise had finally faded. While she regained her bearings, she turned her eyes to look back at the Safari Ball, hoping to catch this one. She had heard many stories of this pokemon and she wondered if they were true; not that she would partake in it -- she did like her soul exactly where it was.
