 I DON'T FUCK WITH NOBODY
YEAH YOU HARDLY KNOW ME ― The water lapped and kissed the edge of the surface, showing its affections to the part of earth it could never meld with. The sound of the water's push resonated in the night sky, crying to its moon god. A woman with wild, dark hair spreading across her forehead sat at the edge of the lake, feet soaking within its bounds. Perhaps the lake of rage would be the only pool that she could truly relax within.
Fran brushed a few loose locks out of her eye, kicking her feet listlessly under the water's surface. She was leaning against her arms, muscles flexing under the moon beams. Her emerald eyes looked dull in the dark, deprived of the rays that made them truly shine like gems.
But who cared what her eyes looked like. The woman sat alone on the grass, calmly basking in the glow of the white moon. It was rare that she was awake for such nightly beauty, but her afternoon nap had bled too far into her evening. She blinked, looking at the stars, her mind wandering. This was her onix's doing; sleeping all day was his habit, but he had the talent of additionally sleeping all night. Fran had not mastered this yet.
No, as far as they had come as partners, their sleeping schedules were still off. This could easily be attested to the fact that her onix could sleep at any time, unsolicited. Her lips curled absent-mindedly, taking joy from the thought of her lazy-ass partner. Her anger could not grow from his habits.
After all, that's really had they started this journey together. It wasn't Fran's desire, it was Detroit's.
But that was a long story. The wild-haired woman drummed her fingers within the grasses she sat in, relaxing under the stars. So often she would bake under the sun; it was nice to feel the cool, soothing vibe of the summer night. She took a deep breath, and released it slowly; completely relaxed. |

| [attr="class","niknik2"] It was late. Vannah had only just got off of work what, like 30 minutes ago? Something like that. She had done of a lot of sweeping and mopping and dusting and just... general upkeep today. And while it wasn't anything particularly hard, it was tiring work. Her back was aching and her feet were pounding. She was so ready to just sit down and sleep, honestly.[break][break] But her head was foggy, and she needed a walk to clear it up. Vannah stretched her arms high above her head and yawned before sitting at the edge of the lake. She slowly took off her nurse shoes and socks before slowly dipping her feet into the water. A relieved sigh came from her throat unnoticed. It was so cool and nice, just what she needed. Vannah closed her eyes and hummed a little to herself, enjoying the calmness of the night and the sounds of the pokemon by the lake.[break][break] When Vannah opened her eyes she looked at the moon. It was really bright tonight. Maybe a full moon? She wasn't sure. Vannah lied back onto the grass, sprawling her arms out and stretching again. It was then that she looked around and saw another person.[break][break] "Oh, I'm sorry!" she said quietly. No need to be loud when it was so silent here. "I didn't mean to impose on you. I've had a long day, I guess I didn't see you when I walked up."There was a Ponyta that walked up to Vannah and nudged her shoulder lightly with her muzzle. Vannah leaned into Della's warmth, squinting at the brightness of her mane. The Ponyta moved her muzzle in the direction of the lake, where little waves were starting to be made. There was a rustle in the bushes, Ken was in the lush foliage watching the two women bicker on about their day. Not knowing he was lurking and looking, he knew full well that Vannah had something up her sleeve this time around and that Franny was probably up to no good too. Despite forgiving her for giving him a black eye, busting his lip and nearly snapping his leg he still thought she was... pretty hot. Both of them were pretty hot and thus Ken was on surveillance to make sure they didn't do anything too bad with their time together.
In a tree Ken watched the two, unsure what to do next. Every now and then he would imitate the call of a pidgey to put them at ease of his presence. Then again he was about 260 resting on a surprisingly sturdy tree limb. Binoculars gleamed in the moonlighy as he focused on one and then the other. "C'mon Vanny suplex her already." he cleared is throat, muscles sore from his little sweaty wrestling match.
With the shift of his weight the branch snapped and he fell to the ground with a thud, standing up immdately he dusted himself off and ran away. He had to abort the mission this time but next time he'd get his revenge. He;d have to get his revenge next time.

YEAH YOU HARDLY KNOW ME ― It wasn't long before Fran's peace was intruded upon. She leaned against her arms, strumming her fingers in the grass. The wild-haired woman had been enjoying her solace for quite some time, perhaps it was simply time for it to expire. With this thought, she decided it was time to move on. Maybe she should begin building a fire to rest next to.
But she caught a look at the stranger before stirring in her spot. A younger woman with bubblegum pink hair, shining somewhat under the breadth of the moon. She sat down suddenly, humming to herself. Had she really not noticed Fran at all? The dark-haired trainer yearned briefly for that kind of peace of mind.
However, it didn't take long for the girl to take notice of Fran. She immediately apologized for the intrusion, which Fran accepted easily. If this woman had such a long day, she may have wished for privacy herself.
"No biggie, I was just-" Fran began to speak, pulling a bare leg out of the cooling waters. But before the fighter could say her peace, the water began to stir before her companion. A pink tuft slowly revealed itself from beneath the surface of rage lake, followed by a dumb looking face with yellow markings.
Feeling revitalized and less grouchy than usual, Fran leaned against the other trainer quickly, her hand grasping the throat of the wild pokemon. She ripped the shellos out of the water, and casually tossed it over her shoulder. The sound of the pokemon's cry arced through the air. "Damn pests everywhere. You should watch out."
Fran pulled herself away from the stranger, pushing herself back onto her feet. She leaned over to grab her tennis shoes from the edge of the water.
As the wild-haired woman turned around, she could see the shellos in the distance. Moving fast. It rushed at the trainer, tears streaming down its face, screaming a frustrated tone. Fran was unmoved by this display. Her fingers slid across the tops of the pokeballs tied around her belt. Finding the device she was searching for, she launched the ball into the air. Out poured a white light, forming the silhouette of a small, plug-headed pokemon.
The elekid waved his bulky arms in the air, barking a few aggressive words. He appeared ready for a fight, and excited for one. The problem was, he was facing the wrong way.
"Turn around, dumbass," Fran muttered, pointing in the opposite direction. Dallas did not understand. He only tilted his head, continuing to wave his arms. His trainer stampeded toward him, and forcefully turned his body to face the shellos, now almost at its target. "Shockwave," Fran ordered, patting her pokemon's crown playfully.
Dallas smiled as sparks flew between the two pillars atop his head. The electricity shed the darkness in the immediate area as a blue streak of lightning ripped through he air. The hit landed on the shellos, soaking its water-typed body in electricity. The weaker pokemon fainted almost instantly.
The shockwave dissipated, and the party fell into night once more. Or almost night. Fran looked over her shoulder to see the smoldering flames of a young ponyta. It was a handsome pokemon, probably more comfortable to ride than an onix. And as Fran's thoughts began to manifest pain in her butt, she noticed movement close to the pink-haired trainer.
"Hey, eyes open," she warned. |

| [attr="class","niknik2"] Vannah looked at the woman curiously. She was relaxed and really pretty, but in an intimidating kind of way. She had muscles that were well-developed and easy to see in the crisp moonlight. Vannah felt bad about ruining the other's personal time, but at the same time she was intrigued to know more about her.[break][break] As the Shellos broke the surface of the water, the other woman leaned into Vannah's shoulder. Vannah blushed at this, but continued to watch curiously. She gulped as the woman picked up the pokemon by the throat and nonchalantly threw it over her shoulder.[break][break] Yep, definitely intimidating.[break][break] Vannah watched with her Ponyta as a battle unfolded between the Shellos and the woman's endearing Elekid. The more Vannah watched, the more this lady came off as a very harsh, yet loving trainer towards her pokemon. It gave off this energy that this lady knew what she was doing, even when her pokemon were acting kind of silly. It was a little... inspiring.[break][break] "Wish I was that strong..." Vannah said absentmindedly. Della looked at her curiously, not understanding what she meant. There was a sudden crash in the distance — Della looked towards the edge of the trees with her ears pricked, but Vannah didn't seem to notice. Della sniffed curiously, but shook off the feeling. Must have been that Pidgey back there falling off it's branch.... And if it was, it was a really fat Pidgey.[break][break] The other woman's battle concluded with ease. She did have the type advantage, after all. Vannah sighed with some sort of feeling as the other woman looked in her direction. But she was caught off guard — there was a Meditite running towards her behind her back, ready to attack![break][break] Luckily Della had her back. The Ponyta reared and STOMPED on the psychic pokemon before it could reach Vannah, snorting aggressively at it under it's hooves. The Meditite struggled underneath the Ponyta's weight, but couldn't move.[break][break] Vannah leaped up with surprise, embarrassed by her lack of attention. She had been so distracted by the other woman, she hadn't even noticed the pokemon behind her! "Della, use Ember!" she called out of breath.[break][break] The Ponyta threw bright EMBERS in the Meditite's face, burning it badly. But the psychic pokemon still struggled against Della's hooves and eventually wiggled free enough to hit her with CONFUSION.[break][break] Della took a few steps back and shook her head free of the psychic move. She snorted again, glaring at the Meditite and grazing a hoof against the soft dirt. Without command, Della shot forward with a FLAME CHARGE and knocked the opposing pokemon far out into the water, where it crashed and floated up, fainted. Della raised her head snootily, turning around and kicking dirt in the Meditite's direction. That's what you got when you tried to hit her trainer![break][break] Vannah knelt next to her pokemon and gave Della a big hug around her neck. The Ponyta's mane flourished with warmth and pride at her ease of battle. "Thanks, girl. I dunno what I'd do without you."[break][break] Vannah kissed her pokemon's forehead lovingly before standing up and dusting herself off, awkwardly looking back at the woman. "Sorry, I'm kind of a dunce today I guess, haha..." Vannah rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment. "I'm Savannah, it's nice to meet you. Thanks for looking out for me earlier."[break][break] OPPONENT FAINTED![BREAK]

I DON'T FUCK WITH NOBODY
YEAH YOU HARDLY KNOW ME ― The crisp night air became muddle with mixed feelings of intimidation and admiration. Fran thought as though a tinge of fear emitted from the other trainer. That would not be so surprising, for the dark-haired woman was rather unapproachable.
Nonetheless, the young lady did not leave, and Fran hadn't either. She felt herself attracted to the ponyta before her. There was something extremely powerful and beautiful about those pokemon. Fran briefly wished she had a more comfortable ally to ride upon versus the bouldering, rocky hide of her onix.
"You don't need to apologize," though the older woman wouldn't necessarily disagree that this girl was being unnaturally clumsy. The trainer opposite of her introduced herself as Savannah, officially tying the two together with formalities. "I'm Fran," she responded. It became more frequent that the wild-haired woman would introduce herself to strangers along her way. Perhaps this pokemon journey had begun to soften her.
On the other hand, she still felt rather blissful from spending hours alone by the side of the lake. Maybe she was just vulnerable to amiable passersbys.
"You been trainin' that one long?" She asked, beginning to close the distance between herself and Savannah. But as Fran moved forward, the water beyond began to stir once again. The woman's emerald eyes burned onto the surface, watching a bright orange fish leap from its confines. The magikarp sailed through the air, making way toward Fran's standing.
But her reflexes were that of a seasoned fighter. Fran once again found herself beating a wild pokemon, smacking the magikarp in the air. This momentum sent the thing flying toward her elekid. "Fuckin' christ."
"Dallas, use thunder punch!" She called after him. Her pokemon, however, was not so swift. He had been busy sizing up his own muscles, punching the air restlessly. Dallas barely noticed the airborne fish, until he heard his trainer's voice. He looked over at her just in time to be smacked in the jaw by the magikarp's flailing tail. Fran covered her mouth vaguely with her hand. She was almost amused at this display.
The elekid, now freshly angry and attentive, balled is claws into a fist. His bulky arms sparked with electricity, and his attack connected with the magikarp's side. It was sent flying back into the lake of rage.
While her pokemon yelled impishly after the defeated beast, Fran once again turned toward Savannah. "If you were looking for a quiet place to relax after work, we can always leave you," she offered. She wouldn't care either way,she wasn't completely hating the company of this younger trainer. |

| [attr="class","niknik2"] Vannah felt pretty terrible about ruining the older woman's alone time, but she said to not worry about it. She introduced herself as Fran — she looked like a Fran. It fit her pretty well. But not in an old lady sort of a way, in an intimidating "I don't give a fuck and I'll break your arm" kind of way. Vannah could respect that.[break][break] Fran seemed to have her eyes glued on the Ponyta. Vannah opened her mouth to answer her question but was cut off by a flailing Magikarp. She watched the short battle unfold while wearing a certain kind of face she couldn't really explain. Amusement, confusion, intimidation, and curiosity all sort of mingled together. It probably wasn't the prettiest face, but whatever.[break][break] Vannah laughed airily at Fran's comment, waving a hand in the air before brushing a piece of hair behind her ear. "No, no, it's fine. I'm enjoying this. It's kind of fun," she chuckled again a little, turning to her Ponyta and grooming her mane absentmindedly.[break][break] "To answer your question earlier, this is Della," Vannah started, affectionately scratching Della's shoulder. "I hatched her from an egg right as I arrived in Johto, so a little less than a month ago. She's growing quickly, but I haven't ridden her yet because of her age. I don't want to hurt her back or anything," Vannah giggled a little at her pokemon's silly face they made whenever being scratched. "By the time she'd be ready to ride, I'm hoping she'll be ready to evolve anyways. That way I don't have to worry about how much weight I'm putting on her back."[break][break] Suddenly Della stopped responding to the affection she was being given. Her ears pricked back to the brush beside the water. Vannah noticed and turned to notice a shy-looking Marill that looked like it was preparing a BUBBLE attack.[break][break] Vannah and her Ponyta dodged out of the way just in time. Della immediate began to charge at the Marill with full speed, hitting it with a bright FLAME WHEEL in the dark of night. The Marill tumbled a bit away, hurt more by the impact than the flames. It watched Della with wide, scared eyes before shooting an aggressive BUBBLE BEAM at the Ponyta's chest.[break][break] Della whinnied with dismay, quickly shaking off the water from her coat. It had hurt, but she still had a lot left in her. The Ponyta angrily STOMPED on the Marill's body a couple of times before the pokemon went limp in faint.[break][break] Vannah coughed into her first awkwardly. Looks like Della didn't need her help for that one. "I wonder what's got all the wild pokemon in such a bad mood tonight..." she said, mostly to herself than to Fran.[break][break] OPPONENT FAINTED![BREAK]

YEAH YOU HARDLY KNOW ME ― The dark-haired woman listened politely as Vannah responded to her question. She gave a rather thorough explanation, as if she really knew all she needed to know about her pokemon. Fran was almost jealous; she didn't have much knowledge outside of what her pokedex could explain to her in thirty seconds. But Vannah seemed to have a good handle on things.
"What did you say you did for a living?" She asked, thinking she may be a librarian or professor of sorts. Maybe this young woman would know why all of Fran's pokemon were so quirky.
Fran assumed the role of witness while she watched the flaming beast protect her trainer once more. The two had a much different dynamic than most of Fran's team. It was interesting to watch, and quite frankly, Fran began to enjoy the company of this young woman. She was smart and kind, yet wasn't shying away from any of the battles that stirred in the night.
Before Della's battle had reached a sound conclusion, Dallas growled behind Fran. The fighter turned to see a little purple shell hopping its way forward. It clamped down on the elekid's foot, and the electric-type yelped out in pain.
Fran returned the plug pokemon to his pokeball, believing he had done enough for the evening. She replaced the ball in her hand with another, tossing it into the cool night air. A bright light shone against the darkness, forming the shape of a low-to-the-ground, thick looking pokemon. The light shook off the beast as the capture device returned to Fran's hand. Her slowpoke smiled happily with his dopey face, looking at his opponent.
The shellder almost appeared shocked that its attacker would give him such an adoring look. But as was Columbia's nature, he wanted to nuzzle his opponent with affection.
"Columbia, no," his trainer called from behind. The slowpoke glanced over his shoulder at her. She was the single best thing that he's ever seen. "Use zen headbutt," she ordered. Fran's word was law in the heart of the slowpoke, and as much as he wanted to admire the opponent, he would have to defeat it first.
The shellder was unsurprisingly faster than the slowpoke, It bounced itself into the air and clamped its body upon Columbia's head. The dopey beast blinked, but was not so severely damaged. The skill level of these two pokemon was just too great. He shook the wild creature off of his head, and dashed forward. The top part of Columbia's head started glow blue, the rest became surrounded by a see-through reflective shield. The two pokemon collided with a crack, and the shellder was sent flying away from the small company.
"Good work," Fran commented. Her beast turned slowly and made his way toward her. The slowpoke nuzzled his head around and in between her legs, almost knocked the woman over. She sighed, reaching down to pat Columbia's head playfully. He cooed at her touch.
Fran looked over her shoulder to Vannah. "Know anything about slowpokes?" She asked, half-joking. |

| [attr="class","niknik2"] Vannah chuckled awkwardly at Fran's question. She had started to try and answer, but the older woman became distracted by a rogue Shellder. She had returned her Elekid to it's pokeball and released a Slowpoke in it's stead — something that made Vannah genuinely laugh a little to herself. She loved Slowpoke, the were so silly in such an endearing way. Vannah found herself watching the battle at hand before remembering what Fran has asked just a couple minutes ago.[break][break] "Oh! I'm a Pokemon Nurse," she said quickly, self-consciously brushing her hair back. "Well, I'm in training. I should be finishing sometime this year. Right now I'm going from Pokemon Center to Pokemon Center to help them out when they're need help."[break][break] Vannah smiled at the Slowpoke below her, crouching down to be at it's eye level. "Aren't you a cutie? You handled that battle well," she said to it, knowing full well it may not even notice her. She could tell it had a strong connection with it's trainer. "Slowpoke are, well, slow of course. But they're also pretty resilient, we don't see too many of them come in because they can take some hard hits before getting knocked. They're also super relaxed and, usually, really good with kids. You've always got your outliers though."[break][break] Della had wandered off to some nearby bushes. Vannah was too busy paying attention to Fran and her Slowpoke to notice it, but the Ponyta had found another wild pokemon lingering nearby. This time it was a Riolu, but it wasn't particularly aggressive. It was actually really friendly! But as the two pokemon seemed to converse, a big of a rivalry seemed to come up between them. The Riolu raised it's paws in a way that just said "you wanna go?", but with a playful smile. Della whinnied with excitement, finally catching her trainer's attention.[break][break] "Oh," Vannah said with surprise. She quickly realized what was happening. "Sure! Sorry," she apologized to her pokeball, jogging forward just enough so she could get a view of the battle about to start. The Riolu made the first move, knocking into Della harshly with a QUICK ATTACK. The Ponyta didn't waver, though — she stood tall and stared her opponent down as she waited for a command.[break][break] "Use FLAME CHARGE!" Vannah called out. Della was engulfed in glames as she slammed into the Riolu — it had been badly burned but it also didn't waver. A smirk was plastered on it's face, happy to have a sparring partner.[break][break] The Riolu countered with a brutal FORCE PALM to Della's cheek. She fumbled a little, but regained her balance. Oh, now it was on. She grinned herself before using QUICK ATTACK against her opponent unprompted. The Riolu used it's FORCE PALM to weaken the attack as she approached, but it didn't seem to help much. Della kept pushing into the Riolu's fists, the tinier pokemon's feet beginning to indent into the dirt. Vannah watched them for a moment before noticing an opening.[break][break] "Quick, Flame Wheel!" She called out. Della retreated from the Riolu's palms just enough to trample it with a bright FLAME WHEEL that nearly knocked her opponent out. Despite how tired it was, the Riolu was still smiling. The tiny pokemon looked from Della to Vannah, grinning widely. Vannah felt like she understood and pulled out an empty pokeball from her waist and tossing it towards the wild pokemon. The Riolu raised a paw to grab it, and was sucked into it in an attempt to be captured.[break][break] "Looks like he's excited to train," Vannah said resolutely. Della returned to her owner proudly despite the harsh bruise that was appearing on it's cheek. Vannah greeted her pokemon with a light touch — Della tilted her head enough to let her trainer see the damage. "You'll have some swelling, but you'll be fine. Return for now and when we get back to the room, we'll put some ice on it, okay?" Della nodded before tapping her muzzle against her own pokeball and returning without a fuss. I DON'T FUCK WITH NOBODY
YEAH YOU HARDLY KNOW ME ― She was a cute girl with bashful tendencies, but there was strength in her character. Although she was very different from Fran, the older woman could see a little bit of her own hard-working tendencies reflected in Vannah. She appeared to be a fine young woman, and the kind of person that Fran didn't mind sharing an evening with.
When Vannan knelt down to address Columbia, he immediately responded. The warm breath of her tone washed over him like a bubble bath. He slowly made his way to the pink-haired female, nuzzling his snout onto her legs.
"He needs resilience to handle all the rejections he gets," she sighed, referring to the opponents her slowpoke had tried to share affections with. Fran was thankful that her company had taken the time to educate her on slowpokes, though little of that information was to be useful in her case. Nonetheless, she gave a small smile in Vannah's direction. "Good to know," she spoke softly.
Their cordial antics were interrupted with a whinny. Fran followed Vannah to the fight, slowpoke slinking along behind them. But before their battle had concluded, another was beginning. The wild-haired woman felt a presence behind her and turned to face a small water-type pokemon. She was about to call out to Columbia, but he was intertwined with Vannah, canoodling her hip affectionately. That's what you get what you try to have a lover also be a fighter.
Instead, she pulled another pokeball from her belt, and released a small duck pokemon. Her farfetch'd stretched his wings briefly, and then was intent on the fight.
"Use fury cutter," she ordered. Milwaukee pulled his stalk back, and then began to aggressively stab it forward. The wild creature dodged some strides, while others landed, until it grew tired and spit a powerful stream of bubbles from its mouth in a final attempt to cause damage. The attack connected with Milwaukee's cheek, pushing him back and away from the poliwag. He rubbed his face briefly, but sent himself forward once more, landing the final blow across the poliwag's face. Pay back.
The wild pokemon fell to the ground, exhausted. Milwaukee waddled up to the figure, placing a webbed food on top of its defeated opponent. He cawed proudly, waving his stalk in the air.
Fran turned back to Vannah, her farfetch'd gliding his way to her shoulder. "Good capture," she offered plainly, noticing that her ponyta was now too exhausted to continue. Perhaps they should be getting home. "Let me walk you back to the road, it's getting late," Fran said. She pulled at her slowpoke's tail, alerting him to return to her side. The woman began to led her companion forward. |

| [attr="class","niknik2"] This Slowpoke... was adorable. Vannah's heart was officially snatched. She scratched it's silly little head with affection, cooing at it like it was a funny cat video on the internet. So cute.[break][break] She also 100% didn't mind the small pink pokemon attaching itself to her hip while she battled, or the way it was looking up at her with it's big ol' eyes after she captured the Riolu. Maybe it liked her so much because her hair was as pink as it's body, but even if it was just superficial, Vannah adored the attention.[break][break] Fran had also just finished her own battle against yet another wild pokemon. Vannah took her compliment to heart, blushing a little as she said "thank you." Fran seemed like such a powerhouse — it was clear she knew what she was doing — so receiving a compliment from her felt like she really meant it.[break][break] "Your battling has been really impressive, too," Vannah said to the other woman. "You're not just brute physical strength, I can tell you've trained a lot with your pokemon to work with them on an individual basis." Oh man, was she rambling now? "What I mean is, um... I can really appreciate it." There, that wasn't so awkward was it?[break][break] Vannah frowned a little as the Slowpoke receded from her ankles and returned to it's trainer's side, not in a way that was actually sad, but in the sense that she was a little disappointed the little cutie couldn't stick with her longer. Vannah waved at the small pokemon as if to say "goodbye," but she was going to walk the other trainer for a while yet. Della returned to Vannah scuffed up and very obviously tired, but she held her head high and trotted beside the two women with pride. She felt like she had done well today.[break][break] There was a lull of comfortable silence before Vannah decided to speak up. "Thanks for spending time with me," she said genuinely. "I think this was just what I needed after such a long day at work." She sighed to herself, stretched as she walked.
