Tomorrow he would be the leader of LORE.
Emerald eyes would survey the city from one of its highest hills. An assortments of earthy greens and browns would mix in his view everything tinted orange by the setting sun. Thoughts on a number of different aspects concerning his life, business, and ventures would play through the trainer's mind as he stood atop the hill hands slid deep into his pockets his mind wandering, but in its own way focused.
When the sun rose tomorrow he'd be a different person. Resolute and steely eyed, a man with little mercy for those that'd stand against him. His team of pokemon would be focused standing second to none. The three having been chosen days in advance for the challenge. The emerald-eyed trainer had prepared everything in advance his meticulous nature as true as it'd ever been, and what Azad hadn't prepared himself Frederick had taken the liberty of doing himself. The older co-leader even having gone as far as to set up the challenge so Azad could focus on his personal preparation for the coming fight. It was the first of many and one he couldn't afford losing for the organization. That said his co-leader had recommended the aspiring professor take the day off, finish any business he had in the city and calm his nerves. And so the earlier portion of the day had been just that for the most part at least. Trying local delicacies and appreciating the rustic nature of the mountainous city. Fusube worked as a blend of tradition, modern values, and technology that intermingled so fluidly anyone was hard pressed to say such a creation wasn't unique to Johto and Azad couldn't disagree. With day almost over Azad would spend the last remaining hours of light doing what he'd initially come to this region to do those many months ago, research.
He knew of the cities famed dragon type pokemon all of which lied within the den, a cave mile or so out from the city behind the gym. In all honesty Azad had little interest concerning the cave of dragon pokemon Azad was more curious about the wild pokemon that'd found refuge in the city itself. The urban pokemon that lived on the back streets and the more mountainous pokemon he imagined lived just on the cusp of the city. What the silver-haired Kalossian native didn't quite expect was to find someone else surveying the outskirts just as he was. A taller blond haired man handsome and intelligent or at least he appeared to be. If only to settle his nerves and perhaps make and acquaintance the darker-skinned student would speak.
"Only in Johto can you find technology, nature, and culture intertwined so beautifully. Wouldn't you say stranger?"
Today he was Azad an aspiring professor.

[attr="class","pwficon"] [attr="class","pwficonbg"] [attr="class","pwfbody"]eli was never been a man of culture. the type of person that attends art shows or walks around with a five hundred dollar camera, taking pictures of sunsets and tree-lines with song quotes that always seemed to match; never felt he had the right eye for it. but now, staring out and onto the outskirts of the city, the sun dropping down behind the horizon.. he couldn't help but admire the beauty of it all. elijah reached for his phone to take a photo, but hesitated; instead he simply took in the scene for himself. somethings just needed to be experienced without distractions.[break][break] he was alone now. space was good for the heart and the soul; or so he thought. the trainer had let alice have her peace of mind in the dual-colored orb he carried on his belt and he decided to visit fusube city on a whim. in his studies he found himself consistently fascinated by dragon-type pokemon. they ranged anywhere from small and cute, to large and terrifying. they were by far the most diverse of pokemon types and arguably most sought after. when he decided to take on this burden, this.. challenge, he knew he would have to find one for himself.[break][break] 'eventually,' elijah reassured himself mentally. there was no rush — he had time.[break][break] so collected in his own thoughts, elijah didn't even register the footsteps behind him until they were nearly on top of one another. "hmmm?" eli hummed out unwittingly, only turning his body slightly to recognize the voice and it's owner. he was tall, not unlike elijah, with piercing green eyes and a mane of pearl colored hair. [break][break] 'handsome,' elijah noted to himself.[break][break] as if to confirm the strangers views, elijah turned his head back towards the cityscape, reflecting on his words a moment before he spoke. Warm eyes move from the sunset and back to the man his long white coat flowing in the wind emblazoned on his chest was his name and a title the white haired youth so desperately desired and sought to achieve among others. "Well Dr. Gray it's a pleasure. A moment like this is best shared with another who can appreciate it for what it truly is." A hand moves through his hair strands straightening as he continues eyes focused on the fading horizon for a moment too long.[break][break]
"Thank you Dr. for making this moment."[break][break]
The moment wouldn't end but it'd shift as the two continued on Azad next question as obvious as could be. "If I may be so bold, what exactly is your field of study. I only ask because I hope to reach that plateau myself someday. "Though I have more than a ways to go." Indeed calling this man kind and insightful a colleague was a dream come true. Emerald eyes almost glowed with interest waiting for the young professor's response already prepared to dig deeper into the topic.[break][break]
But before they could get the chance the tall grass behind the duo would rustle cries of pokemon escaping the brush as the white haired trainer turned to face whatever had the gall to interrupt the men. It was a pain, but still the moment hadn't ended. Much like the creatures in question it'd simply evolve and adapt, perhaps in a way he wasn't entirely prepared for, but wasn't that one of the joy's of evolution.[break][break]
"Well Dr. allow me to share my latest hypothesis." Azad would slide a pokeball from his belt white sweater billowing in the evening winds. "If I can be so bold; you're no stranger to battles." That smile transforming into a smirk of sorts as he called his champion forward. [break][break]
"Lyra if you would." And so the pupitar appeared the hard shelled pokemon ready for a fight.[break][break]

"huh", elijah said in a low, absent-minded voice. the formality to which azad addressed him took the young professor for a loop as he struggled to come to terms with how azad knew his title. eli suppressed any sort of memory relapsed anxiety as he stole a glance at the breast pocket of his coat. 'i forgot she put that there,' came the small voice in his mind. while he agreed, eli's vision of the matter construed only slightly. "i think if more people saw the beauty in things as simple as this.. the world would function a lot better." the professor made no attempt at being more intelligent, wise, or anything else for that matter, than what he was. but he held the firm belief that disputes and indifference came from a fundamental lack of understanding and the inability to compromise. 'i'm getting carried away' he reminded himself mentally, pushing away his world changing views to the back of his mind.
eli allowed the man to continue. he listened as azad spoke; inquisitive and ever the well-mannered, to say the least. admittedly he stood there for a moment after he spoke, his mouth humming a noise that indicated he was deep in thought. "i would best describe it as a 'general studies'," he began, reading the man's face for any expressions he could help rectify. "as in, i'm focused on the direct study and research of pokemon in the field, and comparing my findings with that of others in an attempt to ensure data accuracy and correct any inaccuracies. overall it's a study of pokemon trends, habitats, their reactions and my general opinion over the many encounters with them." elijah smiled as he finished, taking azad in for the motivated young man that he was. "rest assured, you'll be one of the better ones, i'm sure."an astute gaze lifted and followed on towards the sounds that followed. on either side of them a pair of pokemon emerged, vastly different in typing and habitat.. yet here they were. with a common goal it seemed, too. reaching onto the latch of his belt, he summoned forth his meowth and put a few feet of distance between him and azad. "let's settle this quickly, alice." the meowth seemed to like the idea as it bounded across the distance between the two, taking the edges of an oncoming gust of ice1 and pushing inwards. the nimbleness of a cat and the sharpness of her claws forced the sneasel to one knee, bleeding from nearly a dozen cuts on her steel blue skin2. meanwhile, alice had chips of ice still clung loosely to her fur and a small rash forming on the very same spot. deciding it to be too risky, the sneasel dropped back. not before letting lose another flurry of cold3 and disappearing into the shadows of the brush.4 satisfied of the battle's quick outcome, he turned his attention to the stranger and his dispute. meanwhile, alice licked the rash at her side; small and annoying, if anything. he'd wait for him to finish before speaking again."you mentioned a thesis?"1-icy wind, 2-slash, 3-icy wind, 4-feint attack/victory +2 victory [attr="class","blindevacred"] DEVA[newclass=".blindevacred"]margin:-20px 0 0 80px;[/newclass][newclass=".blindevacred a"]font:8px verdana;color:#333;[/newclass]  |
