REACH OUT AND TOUCH ME LOST ALL MY PRIDE THAT I THOUGHT I COULD KEEP "Quiet here, huh?" Temple chimed, a light hearted tone to his voice despite facing a waterfall that symbolised great power and victory of many kinds. But that was the other weird thing, for really, it wasn't quiet at all. There was water crashing down in the distance, making the large pond churn violently before mellowing out into a soothing ripple, the water lapping the shores ever so gently. He supposed that's how all journey's start, enticing you in with the promise of an easy adventure, only to then have you climbing waterfalls. "Hmph."But what was it Temple meant by 'quiet'? A number of things really. There was nobody in sight during this hot sunny day or any pokemon nearby. But the key part to his statement was the lack of emotions he was feeling. Well, maybe not 'lack of', he could experience human emotion just fine. But it was the lack of extra emotion from external sources that he couldn't feel. The medium had expected to feel excitement, fear, anxiousness... But it was just his own feelings. Something he rarely got to feel. "Oh well, I suppose it's nice for a change."Temple was not skilled at his 'gift', in fact, it never worked when he wanted it to. The only times it did work was when something bad was going to happen, and being in a place like this where new journeys began, people just didn't experience negative feelings. "Abra, you're also quiet. You okay?" Leaning back and roughly placing his rear in the grass, he arched his back and looked behind him, observing the Abra from upsidedown. The psychic-type pokemon was also seated, it's squinty eyes staring out into the water, almost mesmerised by it. Shrugging, Temple just laid down and closed his eyes, stretching his legs and arms into the air before finally relaxing. [ OOC ] @tagtag MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Who knew that it was a crazy idea to look for something in the water? Even if he already had Suijin, Lars knew that he still had other companions that needed training. Particularly, he had to get rid of all the excess electricity that Kaiju had sucked up from the apartment complex he temporarily called home in Violet. At the same time, though, he’d brought along his fishing rod, wondering if there was going to be any good gained from actually trying to fish. Well, I don’t know if I’ll be as lucky as those fishermen, but… who knows? No harm in trying, right? He thought to himself as he lit a cigarette and let it sit in his lips, inhaling for a few moments before breathing out a thin trail of smoke. He hadn’t been to the Tohjo Falls yet, but there was something he couldn’t pick out in the air. It was… well, there, but at the same time it didn’t seem to bode well. Maybe it was his paranoia, maybe it was something else, but he knew that he couldn’t leave any single stone unturned as he explored the region. Eventually, he’d taken the stick out of his mouth and was flicking ashes into a small cup he’d brought along with him while keeping the fishing rod balanced on his left shoulder. It didn’t take him too long to see that there was someone else nearby, who’d relaxed and was now staring at the roaring waterfall. The other was accompanied by an Abra, and he wondered if it would be fine for him to bother the other person. Maybe not, he thought to himself as he placed himself a little way away from where the other individual was relaxing, before taking a seat on the ground and reaching for the small box he’d brought along with him. Stringing up a lure to the end of his fishing rod, he then held said rod back in his right hand, before tossing it into the water—hearing the lure land with a little splash on the surface before he continued to stare out at the water. He could only guess if he’d be able to find something… MADE BY ★MEULK

REACH OUT AND TOUCH ME LOST ALL MY PRIDE THAT I THOUGHT I COULD KEEP Shutting his eyes and continuing to stay sprawled out like a starmie, Temple focused on the sounds of crashing water, wondering what it would feel like to be underneath one. Maybe not directly underneath, but far enough down that you can see the water churn and reshape. He imagined it would look quite nice, but also quite deadly if one were to get too close. Trapped underneath a vortex of water like that would not be good, unless you were a water pokemon of course. He opened his eyes, looking down at himself. No, he was definitely not a water pokemon. Upon confirming that he had no gills or webbed feet, Temple caught sight of something land softly in the water with delicate 'plop'. Following the line that it was connected to, he pointed out his finger and traced it all the way back to the shore, then upwards a bit where it connected to a rod. Holding onto said rod was a man, silently sitting and waiting for a lucky catch. That reminded Temple, he actually had a fishing rod of his own. If only he had brought it with him, he'd love to fight and catch his own fish. But that thought was quickly pushed out upon looking over at his Abra, who at the moment, could only teleport. Time and time he had been waiting for his pokemon to learn a new move, but it just wasn't happening. Perhaps Temple was being too impatient, and Abra would learn a new move in his own time. But of course, unknown to the medium, Abra only had the move 'teleport' at his disposal for as long as he was... Well, an Abra! Maybe if Temple had gone to trainer school or knew a bit more about pokemon, then he'd know this. Sadly, he was just a wandering medium who cried at pretty much every social event he went to. Pouting, he stared intently at his partner pokemon as if trying to analyse him and his behaviour. He still hadn't moved. "Abra, why don't you-"Oh, he started moving. Firstly thinking that his pokemon was heading towards him, Temple smiled and held out a hand to place around his partners shoulder. But before he got close, his pokemon simply vanished in a pink and purple blur, distorting a fraction of reality as he teleported.
'Blink.'
'Blink.'
'Blink.' "Uh, okay?" This was a common occurrence in his pokemon lately, he seemed to zone out for hours and then teleport somewhere. Where? Temple had absolutely no idea. A little hurt, he just stayed still with his hand still outstretched. "Well then..." Readjusting himself again, he laid back down and let out a deep sigh. [ OOC ] Lars Anderson MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Tick, tock. Now that he was out here, seated on the ground with a line leading into the water, Lars realized why most Fishermen he’d met were middle-aged people who were sort of on the plus-sized side of things that had a funny little laugh accompanied by an entire platoon of six Magikarps… wait, where did that come from? Shaking his head for the briefest of moments, he looked over at where his ‘companion’ was, his eyebrows went up ever so slightly—where had the Abra gone off to? And for that matter… “…where’d it go? Your companion, I mean,” he began, balancing the cigarette in his mouth for the briefest of moments before tapping it in the small cup that he’d set near his right foot. Balancing the stick on the cup as carefully as he could, he then looked out at the line again—but nothing was biting. Maybe he was fishing in the wrong spot? Waterfalls weren’t exactly the best spots to go fishing, but he remembered seeing several stubborn ones hanging around the area and hooking up gigantic Seaking and Carvanha that were trying to swim up the waterfalls back home. “Does your companion like playing tricks on you?” he asked the other curiously, before making a vague gesture with his left hand around the general area. “I don’t know where it’s warped off to, unfortunately…” he added a few moments later. REACH OUT AND TOUCH ME LOST ALL MY PRIDE THAT I THOUGHT I COULD KEEP Just his luck, he takes his pokemon to a nice lake to enjoy the day and he vanishes. Again. He thought that people were supposed to spend quality time with their pokemon? How could he do that if he was never with him!? "Oh well." He whispered, slightly opening his eyes to look at the blue skies above.
The other then started talking, but Temple wasn't really paying attention. 'I wonder who he's talking to?' He thought, still in a bit of a daydream.
But that's when it occurred to him, there wasn't anyone else here. Blinking, he slowly pushed himself up. His head swivelling around left and right just to make sure. Nope, nobody else here. So does that mean... Temple looked up at the man, then pointed a finger to himself, placing it on his chest with a questioning look. "Oh, you mean me?!"
Laughing nervously, he simply shrugged and sighed. "Wish I knew, Abra has a habit of doing his own thing. I wouldn't say he's playing tricks, more like... He just doesn't care about me." Perhaps that was oversimplifying it a little bit, but Temple didn't have the energy to go into a full depth conversation about it.
"Are you hoping to catch anything nice today?" Temple asked, pointing to the fishing line, "I wish i had brought mine along, it looks quite rela-" Stopping suddenly midway through his sentence, he looked closely at the line. The reflective surface of it was shimmering in the light, which probably meant-
"Hey, I think you've caught something." It then started shaking more violently, water splashing about as something moved below the surface. If the fisherman decided to start reeling in and yank back, he'd find that it didn't put up much of a fight at all. But it would not be an orange colour of a goldeen, nor the blues of a finneon. Instead, it was a dark yellow and brown colour.
It was Abra. [ OOC ] Lars Anderson MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

“I was hoping to look for something unusual, but considering that we’re close to a waterfall, I don’t think the fish are going to be—” he began, before noticing that the line had suddenly gone taut and was starting to bend. Realizing that the pole could snap if he left it alone too long, he quickly picked it up from the perfectly balanced position he’d left it on and began to reel it in. He’d gotten so swept up with trying to reel in what he’d caught, he didn’t notice that whatever he’d hooked wasn’t putting up much of a fight. Lars knew that regardless of whatever it was (even a Magikarp) they would always, always put up a struggle before getting reeled in. This thing he’d snagged, however, didn’t seem to behave like any of those. Pulling in the line as fast as he could, he began winding up the line—only to see a shade of dark yellow and brown he’d spotted earlier before it had seemingly warped out of existence. “…what the hell, that’s not even a fish,” he began, resisting the urge to toss the line back out and use the Abra as live bait. Instead, he then waved the other over and pointed to the Pokémon that had snagged on his fishing line. “I don’t know about you, but this looks familiar. Don’t you think so?” he continued a few moments later, unable to fight off a grin from spreading across his face. MADE BY ★MEULK

REACH OUT AND TOUCH ME LOST ALL MY PRIDE THAT I THOUGHT I COULD KEEP "Whaaa?" Temple instantly leaned upright a little more, pushing himself up until he was standing on both feet, gawking at his pokemon who had just been fished. Still pointing at Abra, he couldn't help but just be frozen in pure shock. This was the first time Abra had been mischievous or playful in any way. Had he purposely teleported under the water, or was it an accident? So many questions filled Temple's mind, and eventually he brought both his hands to his face and shook his head. "Oh dear, oh dear."
Embarrassed, he started taking a few steps towards the 'fisherman' and Abra. It was almost like he didn't want to look or get involved more than he was, but there was no turning back now, not when his Abra was dangling off the fishing line. Abra seemed totally unfazed by the situation, he just continued to hold on tightly to the fishing line and dangle in midair. Luckily he wasn't a very heavy pokemon, so it wouldn't put much strain on the rod or the man.
Temple stood directly underneath his Abra, looking up and holding out his arms to catch him. "Let go." Abra looked directly at Temple, then turned to face the blonde, then back to Temple. Letting out a defeated sigh, he let go of the line and dropped elegantly into Temple's arms. Temple then held on tightly to Abra, holding him close to his chest with his tail and legs dangling in the air. "I'm so sorry, this is so unlike him."

“At least we now know where he warped off to. Normally they sleep like almost the whole day, now that I remember what I know about their species. I mean, it’s no big deal,” Lars said with a shrug, before picking up another lure and hooking it back on the line and casting it outwards before hearing the splashing noise hit the water once again. “Hey, at least now you know that your companion enjoys a good laugh… although with the Teleporting thing you’d have to keep a close eye on him,” he continued, setting the line back into almost the same position as he’d left it earlier before the Abra decided to play a little prank and pretend to be a fish. “Oh, I think your companion would like to meet Gabe,” he added a few moments later, quickly fishing out a certain containment unit and popping it to full size. One flash of red light later, a Bagon emerged from within the confines of its containment unit and looked around, before gaping at Lars, and then at the water. A few moments later, the Dragon-type then turned to look at the brown-haired individual and then squinted at the Abra, before making a mad dash and then skidding to a stop, kicking up some dirt near where Lars had seated himself once more. “He’s pretty nervous… I don’t know if you could call him a ‘cinnamon roll’, but normally Dragon-types are supposed to be fierce and all that. Gabe’s not like that though…” he remarked, taking the stick he’d balanced on the cup and taking another inhale before knocking the ashes into said cup and setting it down again. “Does your companion have a name?” he asked the other, curiously. “Oh, and my name’s Lars. A pleasure,” he added a few moments later.

REACH OUT AND TOUCH ME LOST ALL MY PRIDE THAT I THOUGHT I COULD KEEP They sleep the whole day? Temple raised an eyebrow, mishearing him and thinking that the blonde was in fact stating that Temple could sleep all day. He didn't want to retaliate or come across as rude, so the young man just stuttered and tapped his chin, "O- Oh, I d- don't know about that. Haha!" Shuffling awkwardly, he then looked down at his pokemon who was more interested in the waterfall than anything else.
"Yes, I'll be sure to keep an eye on him. Abra seems to be teleporting a lot more frequently lately. I can't help but wonder if he does it to spite me, or he's just in his own world." Frowning, he gently placed his partner on the ground when there was a flash of red light. Appearing from the red energy was a small pokemon, a dragon type if Temple was correct (he just wasn't sure which one).
It definitely wasn't called a 'Gabe', although Temple does recall a dragon-type known as Gabite.
Laughing to himself at the thought of a 'Gabe-ite', the medium had quickly worked himself into hysterics. Clutching his stomach and descending into a fit of giggles. "Oh, how funny!" To others, it would appear that he was primarily laughing at the dragon-type that was overly shy, even his Abra was a bit confused at his owner's reaction.
"H- His name?" He started to calm down, pointing down to his Abra. "His name is Temple, I'm Abra." Sticking out his hand to shake Lars's, he hadn't realised the error of his words at all, but continued to eagerly await a nice formal handshake..

He couldn’t help but crack a grin at that introduction. “Don’t you mean, you’re Temple?” he began, unable to hold his laughter back much longer and actually caving in and allowing himself a chuckle for a few moments. “Gabe is my Bagon. Short for Gabriel, actually,” he added a few moments later, tilting his head at the Dragon-type who was hanging around nervously behind his legs at that moment. “ Gabe, don’t worry… they’re not here to fight. It’s fine,” he said softly in the Bagon’s direction, as the Dragon-type made to hide once more behind his left leg. “Trust me on this,” he added a few moments later, looking down at the Bagon and giving him a stare right in the face, unflinching and unyielding. Eventually, the Bagon caved and peeked out again from behind his left leg. “Yeah… he’s not exactly too hot around new people or anything else in general. I’m pretty sure he’s just nervous, is all,” he continued, finally standing up before returning the gesture. “And I’m Lars. I was looking for something in the water, but apparently there’s nothing in this area… which is a shame, because I heard there were Magikarp around here,” he mused a few moments later. “Well, at least I caught nothing until your Abra decided to prank me. I don’t mind it, though,” he continued a few moments later. MADE BY ★MEULK

REACH OUT AND TOUCH ME LOST ALL MY PRIDE THAT I THOUGHT I COULD KEEP Blinking multiple times with a warm smile on his face, Temple took a long time to process what the other had said. And even after he had corrected him, Temple was still stood in the exact same position, waiting eagerly for the man to shake his hand. It was like he had frozen in time, not moving until he got the handshake he asked for. Even his thoughts were somewhat frozen, and so were his words. Temple had to do things routinely and in the way he had planned, otherwise he'd get far too overwhelmed by it all and frazzle his poor little brain.
Taking a big sigh of relief upon finally getting the handshake, he nodded with a smile and stood up straight, stretching a little before smiling. "Sometimes I'm not too hot around other people either, it's okay though."
Laughing slightly, he looked down at Abra who was very interested in the bagon, watching him scurry around and hide behind Lars. "I didn't realise Abra could hold his breath for so long." He then knelt down and patted Abra on the head, "I think you make a great fish. Maybe we can keep practising? I've always wanted to be a gyarados."

The Dragon-type continued to look at the Abra from his vantage point, and was pretty much content to lurk around behind his companion’s leg—at least until Lars had ever so gently nudged him forward with his free hand. “Gabe, the Abra isn’t going to bite you or anything. Is he attacking?” he asked the Dragon-type, and waited for an answer from the other. As the Bagon shook his head, Lars then gave it an affectionate pat on its head. “See? Not everything outside the Dragon’s Den is out to get you. Have I ever let you down before? No, right?” he continued in his companion’s direction, and the Bagon began to sniffle. Wait a second, why did it look like he was about to cry…?! A few more moments later, he then sighed as the Bagon then burst into tears—and he hadn’t even done anything yet! They were just talking!“Whoa, whoa, Gabe…” he continued, sticking the fishing pole into the ground—since there was nothing biting anyway—before turning his attention back to the now-crying Dragon-type. “Shh, hey, look. They’re not going to bite you, okay? Don’t worry about it so much. Look,” he said softly, picking up the Bagon (and regretting it almost five seconds later, who knew they were that heavy) and turning the other around so the Dragon-type could take a closer look at the Abra who was most probably snoozing in Temple’s hold. “See? Nothing bad.”MADE BY ★MEULK
