A wild Pinsir has appeared!

The bout of aggressive Pokemon seemed like it was unavoidable today, with their company emerging in the form of a rather angry-seeming Pinsir. Perhaps it was angry that they had defeated its friends prior to its arrival? If that was the case he couldn't help but feel bad, and yet, it had to be done to gain experience as a trainer and to get his Pokemon accustomed to combat. Momo had begun to bounce on her tail, preparing to fight their final adversary. Taking a deep breath, he prepared to fight the wrath-filled bug-type. As he was learning, he was getting accustomed to the battle styles of both of his pokemon. While Slothy preferred a wait and counter-attack style, Momo utilized her agility and lithe movements to her advantage.

"Alright, Momo, let's get this underway! All eyes are on you, so let's begin with Sand-Attack! he ordered, her happy cry in the agreement was all that was heard before the Aipom leaped and dashed up sand from the ground into the Pinsir's eyes. Perhaps her speed had been too great, or perhaps his pride, but the Pinsir simply took the move. Now that Momo was close, it bent over and wrapped his partner up in surprise, and incredibly powerful, Vice-Grip. Crying in pain, the Aipom struggled to free herself from the Pinsir's destructive grip.

"Momo! Use Swift to break free! he cried, losing composure as he struggled to free his partner from her pain.

Forming the stars on her tail, she swiped it forward and released a barrage into the body of the assailing Pinsir. Though not crying in pain, it released the Aipom only to grab the Aipom and prepare to slam her into the ground with a powerful Vital Throw.

"Quick, dodge Momo! Then use Tail Whip on it!" he ordered, the Aipom able to evade the super-effective move thanks to the earlier Sand-Attack. Lowering its defenses with a series of slaps from its tail, the Aipom kept a close distance as the Pinsir roared in anger at having missed.

Advancing forward, it lowered its pincers once more, however, this time they began to glow with energy. Slamming into the unsuspecting Aipom, it succeeded with the X-Scissor! Momo bounced off the ground, her tail cushioning her blow as she cried in anger, defiance, and pain. Despite how much she wanted to, Alceides could tell that if he kept her in combat any longer she wouldn't be able to hold on. He wanted her to advance, but he wasn't willing to take any risks with her at this juncture. He was too inexperienced, too afraid of too many things though he honestly believed things would work out in the end!

Sensing his intentions, she cried rejecting his idea but he returned her to the confines of her ball regardless. If she were to faint, then what would that show Slothy? That he drove his Pokemon to work until they could no longer cling to consciousness? No. He would train them hard, but not harder than they deserved.

"Alright...I believe in you, and now, all eyes are on you! Slothy!" he called out, taking a deep breath and releasing the Slowpoke from his rest. It seemed that, despite his earlier lollygagging, this time he wore a look of determination.

"Poke!" he cried, unlike his earlier throes which were laced with laziness and obvious lack of care, sounding full of the fire that Alceides had always believed was within him!

"Well, that's more like it! Let's start things off with Curse!" the boy ordered, with the Slowpoke complying and beginning to glow with energy before it faded as it boosted attack and defense, though lowering speed. The loss of speed wasn't noticeable in a pokemon like Slowpoke, who already lacked swift movement.

Whether it was bad luck or good luck, the Pinsir had decided to let them do what they wanted as it, in return, was Focusing its Energy and increasing the chance of it landing a critical hit. There would only be a few exchanges left, the defiant Pinsir refusing to back down and Slothy's fighting spirit beginning to peek through.

The first one to move would be Pinsir, rushing forward and picking up Slothy before slamming him into the ground! The attack was critical, Slothy emitting a roar of pain. But the Pinsir wasn't done, the extensions that were above his head twitching with energy and anticipation. The intent was to finish off Slothy with the X-Scissor, but Momo's battle had left its mark.

"Dodge it, and use Yawn!" the boy commanded, the X-Scissor missing its mark due to the earlier Sand-Attack as a fluffy cloud enveloped it. Closing in, it clamped down upon the Slowpoke maliciously with Vice-Grip fully ready to hold on for dear life...until their strategy went into effect.

Eyes getting blurred, the injured Slowpoke slid to the ground in front of the Pinsir. Now was the time for the comeback, if any, as Slothy was barely able to hang on any longer.

"Use Tackle! he ordered, the Slowpoke ramming its body into the napping Pinsir who remained sleeping on the ground.

"Alright, this is it! Tackle him again!" he commanded the Slowpoke, causing it to toss his bodyweight against the bug-type causing it to faint. Slothy, sensing that victory was his, turned back to his trainer and smiled.

"Slooooooooooooooooooooooowpoke!" Slothy released the victory cry, plopping down from the Pinsir. Displaying much more enthusiasm than he had ever displayed before, Slothy walked over to Alceides before using his tail to hit the button on his Pokeball returning him to his slumber.

"Heh, I guess you did earn a nap. Great job today, both of you! We didn't get to make a new friend...but there's always next time!"
