Vix had taken the usb stick he had picked up at the abandoned factory straight home. First he set up a proxy to make sure that whatever was in this thing couldn't reach his system. He was eager to find out what exactly this thing was. He hadn't found such motivation in curiosity before. It was like an adult treasure hunt. Exploring something he wasn't supposed to do. Slotting the stick into a port, he booted it up and looked inside.

Immediately his screen flashed purple. A large skull graphic swirled on it. The same one that he had found in the email at the start of this trail. He had no doubt that had he not set up his proxy that this programme would have buried itself deep in his system, relaying every piece of information he would give to it's makers for the rest of his life.

After a minute of waiting for something to happen while staring at the graphic, a little text window popped open. It had a little space at the bottom where Vix could type. There he would have a conversation with an unknown individual that had the username 'V1'.

• V1: Hello there.
• V1: Thank you for finding this programme.
• V1: I am sure that you have worked out by now that the email that you had stumbled upon was for your eyes and not anyone elses.

Vix sat back, his brows creased over his eyes, wondering what in all hell was going on. He replied, setting his own username to 'Spook'.

• Spook: Who is this?
• Spook: What do you want?
• V1: We are Team Virus. We have need of someone with your skills.
• V1: Check your paypoke bank account. I've made a deposit. You will get double that when your job is complete.

Vix immediately went to his bank account on his secured phone. His eyes grew to dinner plates as he saw the number of zeros that filled the account. This was legit? It wasnt some sort of prank? Vix's curiosity grew even larger now that there was serious bank to be made.

• Spook: What do you want me to do?
• V1: There's a man in the city of Enju named Kirk Veil. He's posted up in Bell tower. There will be a package waiting for you in the letterbox of 23 Fennel St. In the package will contain the tech you need. Locate the man and bug his communications. It is imperative that you do not draw his attention.

The young man had to sit back and take this all in. He was talking about some sort of criminal action, right? This was wrong, wasn't it? The average person's morality would be against such a thing. But Vix was an unusual person, being rather detached from society as it was. This task instilled a sense of adventure in him that he had yet to find. Whatever else lay in store did not enter his mind. He was by all means a foolish young man.

• Spook: What happens if I say no?
• V1: We have everything on you. Your life will be ruined if you do not go along with this.

This was a threat. But Vix was conceited enough in his technical ability to know that this threat was empty.

• Spook: Don't lie. I've covered my tracks completely. My paypoke account is out there because I needed it to be for my work. You have nothing on me.
• V1: I see, it seems that you are exactly the type of person we need. Yes, you are correct, we have nothing on you. But know that Team Virus requires this job to be done.

"What do you think, Dusty?" The duskull grumbled with uncertainty. Vix and Dusty thought on it for the rest of the day, but eventually decided to travel to Enju City.




Vix was fully dressed in clothes that hid his appearance. He exchanged his usually fabulous attire for something more thief-like. Going for the lowkey dark charcoal and baseball cap. He kept his head down wherever he could. He couldn't help but feel eyeballs on him when he went to pick up the package. Dusky followed in the shadows, sticking to his ghostly nature. As quick as he could, his hands went into the mailbox and picked up an unmarked brown paper bag before he scuttled off.

Bell tower was a bit of an obstacle. It was clear that he couldn't just walk in. It appeared they didn't let just anyone in. What did that mean for the person he was targeting? Just who was this 'Kirk Veil'? Sneaking around the back, Vix made for a back door. It was locked of course, but Dusty made quick work of it by phasing through and opening it from the other side. The pair sneaked inside.
