Pulling out his Pokedex as he was confronted by the new Pokemon, he was sure that he had never seen this particular one before. Holding it out, in order for it to scan and recognize the Pokemon in front of it, an explanation was soon given in a mechanical voice.

"Riolu, the Emanation Pokemon. It can discern the physical and emotional states of people, Pokémon, and other natural things from the shape of their aura waves."

"Huh, I guess all of our positivity must've brought him over, eh, Momo? Hehe." he spoke to his Aipom, clapping shut his Pokedex and preparing for battle. Despite being the one to approach the group, the Riolu seemed to have a timid nature about it. Momo was grinning and practically vibrating with excitement, lately, she had gotten more accustomed to battling. Whether it was a contest, a battle, or a triathlon the Aipom had a natural talent for grasping everything she was doing. Behind them, Slothy yawned in approval as he refused to lift himself from the water.

Jeez, how lazy could you get?

"Hey, you, you seem like a strong Pokemon so you should have a bit more confidence." he spoke candidly, empathetic with a Pokemon who didn't want to fight. This was his way of saying, either get it together and fight or run now.

Grateful for his words, the Riolu decided that he would use his abilities to oppose them. Momo hopping forward, the two began their frenzied dance! Riolu dashed in with incredible speed thanks to the usage of Quick Attack. Ramming his body into Momo, she careened backward before using her tail to slow down and skid to a halt. Apparently, neither of them had been expecting Riolu to charge in so recklessly.

"He's getting into it, too! Let's not disappoint, Momo! Use Scratch!" he commanded his partner, causing her to leap forward and use her smaller hands in order to scratch at Riolu's face. Taking the damage, Riolu waited until she was in close before launching forward with another Quick Attack. Crying in pain, he briefly considered making an addition of Riolu. He typically enjoyed such a fighting spirit, but it didn't feel right this time.

Oh well, there would always be another in the future. For now, at least he would be able to garner Momo and Slothy some experience while they enjoyed their relaxing trip.

"Let's test this out...use Sand-Attack, and twirl it around you. Then, send it toward Riolu," Momo went into action immediately, bringing up sand and turning it into a whirlwind around her before tossing it toward the fighting type.

"Next, while it's enveloped in the sand stream toss a swarm of Swift at them,"

Waiting until he had entered the mini-tornado, Momo added a jump into the air for her personal flair and rained the star-shaped barrage over top trapping Riolu in-between. Accuracy lowered due to Sand-Attack, he broke through only to be hit by the Swift. Focusing his energy, the Riolu prepared to Endure the attack and remain in combat.

The Riolu was certainly impressive, leagues above what he had initially believed, but there was just no escaping the fact that Momo was better. Panting, just barely staying conscious, the Riolu attempted to hit the Aipom with Quick Attack.

"Finally, let's dodge it and end it with Scratch" with a loud warcry, Momo relentlessly scratched at the Riolu until it fainted.

Releasing a deep breath in tandem, they high-fived eachother before he turned his gaze to Slothy. "Hey, it's your turn, now! Hurry up, before the next one gets here."

He didn't need his Pokedex to identify this particular pokemon, the angry monkey glaring at them as it approached rather quickly. It seemed that this one, unlike the prior, was much less timid! Interesting. It would be good for Slothy to fight a fiery opponent, he disliked his habit of taking damage before participating in the battle.

"Slothy, all eyes are on you now. Let's friggin' do it!" he cried, raising his fist into the air as his partners both yelled with him.

Removing his lower body from the water, not even bothering to shake dry as Momo had, he plopped himself in front of Alceides before delivering a yawn at the Mankey. Apparently, the Mankey took this as an incredibly vile act of disrespect, as he screamed in rage and began to charge forward. Without even wasting a moment, the Mankey hit his Slowpoke with a Low Kick with his physical strength so great that the hefty Slowpoke was launched into the air. Because he was heavier, the attack did decent damage but was mired by Slothy's part psychic-type resistance.

"When you land, Tackle him!" he ordered, and for once Slothy perked up. He had displayed spirit before, but now he was most likely irritated at having his leisurely position ruined by force. When he plopped to the ground with a large thud, the Mankey was already in action as well.

Tackle was met with Scratch as the two went back and forth. Alceides issued the repeated command meanwhile the Mankey would not give up his assault either. Ramming into him, he was clawed in the face before repeating with both of them showing no signs of backing down.

He was way too impressed with Slothy! Having such a manly head-to-head battle with the Mankey was just...incredible, he never saw him deliver such passion. Perhaps he should start dislodging him from his rest, himself if that was the reaction he gave every time? Shaking away the thought, he was nonetheless giddy as the battle continued.

"This is it, finish him with this Tackle!" he ordered, the two approach each other a final time.

Gaining a bit of momentum, while the Mankey prepared a Low Kick, the two collided and two bodiess flew away.

"Slothy...?" he called out in concern, running over to the injured Pokemon to check on him.

"Poke!" was his steadfast reply, not even bothering to lift himself from the comfortable spot on the ground. He didn't faint, like the Mankey a few yards away, but he was probably going to object vehemently if he had to battle again.

Slothy had battled hard against the Mankey and, apparently, the commotion had excited a Machop seeking to test his strength. The proud Machop approached them, however, seeing Slowpoke was wounded he decided to wait for Alceides to send out another Pokemon. How haughty, how arrogant, how friggin' cool! A fighting-type would, inherently, have the spirit he desired in his Pokemon and this one took it a step above. He was going to wait for Alceides to get ready?

Grinning, he recalled the Slowpoke who was preparing to fall asleep anyway. Man, he was useless past a single battle most of the time. At least he was assured of victory, as long as they enraged him. Chuckling at his cruel internal banter, he called forward Momo who had been resting on his shoulder after the exciting conclusion of Slothy's battle. She knew what was coming, and she was excited about it. Alceides was feeling a tiny bit of apprehension, worried that the super-effective strikes Machop could deliver would be too much for his partner.

"I guess stuff like this can only make us stronger, or at least our bond, what do you think Momo?" he asked her, causing her to give him a confused glance, before delivering a wide toothy grin and running around as if attempting to release pent-up energy.

She was right, sometimes he had to stop thinking so much and just act. Even the Machop seemed like he was tired of waiting for Alceides. He had to drop his indecision sometime, right?

"Alright, the spotlight is your's Momo. Let's show this Machop what's what! Tail Whip!" he commanded, dashing forward and smacking the Machop with her tail repeatedly, as she spun in circles. While she was doing that, the Machop took the smacks as if they were feathers and lowered his body weight. Delivering a Low Kick to Momo, she flew up into the air. The hit was super-effective, however, Momo was a rather light Pokemon so it didn't achieve maximum damage.

"Swift, from the air!" he ordered, his partner recovering and swiping her tail as she released a flurry of star-shaped blasts at the Machop.

Taking the hit, he decided that he was going to focus his energy! "Quick, Sand-Attack!" he ordered, the Pokemon landing and swiping a radial of sand at the Machop to lower his vision and therefore accuracy.

"Now, jump!" he ordered, as the Machop had prepared to end things with another Low Kick. Thanks to seeing the move used by the Mankey, beforehand, and getting used to it, as well as the accuracy loss, they had managed to elude the super-effective crit.

"Now, finish him off with Scratch!" he ordered, as the Aipom closed the distance and clawed recklessly at the Machop and causing him to faint.

"Alright! Nice job!"he complimented Momo, rushing in to deliver a high-five.
