[googlefont=Roboto Condensed] The deal was that they were supposed to meet 'same time, same place'. Kyle had suggested that they were to come either at dusk or dawn, preferably dusk, since he wouldn't want to experience having to endure both heavy physical strain to his body and the sun blazing up above his head. It seems like he had arrived too early though. His Rhyhorn had been out of its Pokeball and did not seem to mind the slopes as hard as Kyle did. With its stubby legs and its rather heavy build, Kyle could only wonder how it didn't mind a long hike. Staring up the sky, he deemed that it would seem like he had arrived a bit earlier than the time they have agreed upon on. Though he would've normally dreaded to wait for time to pass by, being able to rest before Ash came was probably for the good. Seeing the Growlithe last time was enough motivation for Kyle to be back up in this place once again. He doesn't necessarily need one, but he was determined to obtain one at all costs. He supposed that he'd try to finish that task today and simply give up should the chance not present itself once again to him, though knowing his lack of resolve on most things, he wasn't sure if he could convince himself to do just that. 'remember where you pushed the magby off the cliff to die? meet me there.'Sending the text message to his sister, he sat on a flat rock and took out a gaming console out of a small string bag he brought with him. Kyle wasted no time tapping away at the buttons, plugging on his earphones and simply trusting his Rhyhorn to make the slightest noise to alert him whether or not wild Pokemon were about. He arrived early anyways and got the time to waste. Once she comes though, he'll be returning to Growlithe hunting. MADE BY NOVA |

'sure. whatvr.'
she was honestly surprised he had been willing to return to such a location. the climb still wasn't an easy one despite the sun's faded light, and required a lengthy trek by those seeking to conquer it. it wasn't long before she found herself at the beginnings of the route, having occupied fusube city the night prior. the location her brother had mentioned was still fresh in her mind due to it having occurred roughly a week prior.
"doesn't that idiot want one of those dog-things?"
the girl honestly wasn't sure which one he craved to have as a companion. she, at the very least, remembered them skirmishing with a houndour and growlithe that had come in a pair; and he honestly hadn't expressed interest in either of them -
"- kyle!"
it required around half an hour before her brother and his rhyhorn came into view, the younger female increasing her pace somewhat to meet them.
"what are you trying to hunt down this time?" she questioned.
she removed her backpack and retrieved a bottle of water before guzzling it down eagerly to remedy her parched throat. once ash had polished off nearly half of its contents, she pulled it away from her mouth and happily smacked her lips.

[googlefont=Roboto Condensed] He could feel the slightest movement of his Rhyhorn beside him, its heavy body making the slightest tremor as it saw Ash come into view. He was tempted to simply ignore her and focus on the game he had just started since she did come right when things were about to get excited, though he held against it. Being the one that invited her to come back here, he supposed that option was not a viable one to take in this situation. Taking off his earphones in time to hear her one question, he looked at her straight to her eyes and answered in the most serious tone he could muster. "Magby." He wasn't about to get her to remember his blunder last time of letting the Growlithe go instead of catching it. Besides, it would be much better to paint himself as a reliable and caring big bro who escorts his little sis to go get the one Pokemon he saw her get interested in. Returning the rest of his electronics back to his little bag, a movement on the corner of his eyes got him to turn and spot two curious creatures peeking out of the vegetation. One of them was the Pokemon he had mentioned, earning itself a groan coming from Kyle. "Ugh, it's really a Magby." To run into one so early in the game meant that they would have to return soon. At least he could fix it.
"Stone Edge, Rhy. On the Magby."He wasn't even looking at the events that were about to transpire and simply focused on getting his things back. Unlike his Electrike, at least his Rhyhorn was reliable. Probably. Stomping its legs on the ground, the Rhyhorn managed to force out rocks from the ground outwards towards the Magby, spooking both of the Pokemon. The Numel was unscathed, although the Magby wasn't so fortunate as Rhyhorn had specifically aimed for it. Knocking it out for good, Kyle nonchalantly gives a shrug along with a comment with a tone as fake as ever. "Oh, I guess it looks like we have to find another one then." [attr="class","smdbody"]the young woman merely scoffed in reply, far too aware of the subtle amount of sarcasm contained within the youth's answer to her question.
"right."
she smirked the moment the mentioned pokemon had made its appearance, shooting her brother a knowing look as he groaned in reaction to sighting the bipedal creature. he sent his rhyhorn after the fire-type, seeking to hastily dispatch it. she watched on, visibly amused as her brother's rock-type made short work of the little beast.
"wow."
her eyebrows rose high as kyle turned his back on the felled beast, effectively dismissing it. she wasn't the least bit surprised by his actions.
"guess i'll handle the numel, then."
ash released her meditite from her capsule before gesturing toward the stout beast.
"wreck it, rook."
the little dual-type moved to do just that, exuding a powerful aura that would leave a pained expression upon the numel's face. it had very little time to react, and would waver and mumble pure nonsense to itself as it fell into a bewildering trance. the fire-type proved disappointingly easy to take down, with meditite having to do very little to knock it unconscious. they would leave it be the moment it had fainted, the pair hurrying to catch up kyle as he walked at a brisk pace in a seemingly random direction.
"thought you wanted a mag-by, kyle," she sneered. "you kinda just left it laying there instead."
ash fell silent for a moment before she proceeded to release an exasperated little noise.
"you're so difficult," she said. "i already know you want another one of those shitty dogs. what is it this time? a vulpix? isn't that a dog?"
despite her choice of career, her knowledge of pokemon outside of her own was undeniably pitiful in amount.
"don't you already have - like - two poochyena, or something?"
she honestly couldn't begin to understand his tastes. ash felt as though her's was much more simple in comparison - if it was strong and lacked a master or mistress, she'd take it and claim it as her own.

Besides, he wasn't even sure what his sister saw in a Magby that made the Pokemon that much likable. It wasn't aesthetic and it wasn't a popular species as well. Growlithe. He was looking for another Growlithe. The last one got away before he had the chance to capture it, spooked away by his Rhyhorn as he was distracted with his sister throwing the previous Magby to a drop. It had been his fault for not paying attention, and today was the day he was supposed to get a second shot at this. "I'll tell you when we see one," he answered, finally conceding. "And leave Poochy One and Two out of this. They're perfectly good boys and are not stupid."Amid the bickering, two figures have showed themselves once again to the pair: a Ponyta and another Rhyhorn. "Oh hey, look, a relative," he jested. His Rhyhorn, however took none of it and simply responded with a grunt. The possibility of it being true was too unlikely, given that his Rhyhorn was given to him as an egg taken directly from a specialized breeder. Any links it has with wild Pokemon was unrealistic.
"Drill Run. On the Rhyhorn."Opting to leave the Ponyta for his sister's Meditite altogether, Kyle had his Rhyhorn charge up to the member of the same species. Using the tip of its horn as a spearhead, it charged at the unsuspecting wild Pokemon, sweeping it off of its feet. The super effective hit managed to knock it down on one go. Kyle didn't expect anything less from his own after all. "We still have time before it gets too dark," he reminded Ash. "Gotta make the most out of this trip."

she shrugged after kyle went about dealing with yet another wild pokemon. the search was likely to make for a fruitless one, but at least it wouldn't be an utter waste of their time.
'that rhyhorn of his is getting stronger. won't be long before i can fight it myself.'
the woman couldn't help but openly admire its charge, its body solidly connecting with its wild counterpart. she released a low whistle and then reached for her belt, her brown-eyed gaze shifting to settle upon the ponyta. the equine didn't appear to be terribly skittish, otherwise it would have likely fled in response to the sudden burst of movement that originated from the rhyhorn's skirmishing. instead, it curiously eyed the pair while maintaining a safe distance.
'mmm - i wonder how strong it is?'
she introduced her donphan to the field, the pokemon now bolstering a lightly scarred brow and trunk from his initial encounter with knight. the nurses could do little more than clean the opened section of flesh and hope for the best - but at least her ground-type was now in possession of a few pretty wicked scars.
"rollout."
the donphan rushed forward, furling himself into a tight ball as he sought to ram into the the wild pokemon. it staggered and released a pained whinny, but to her surprise, it remained standing.
'it wasn't sent flying, either.'
unfortunately, the battle to follow would make for a mostly one-sided affair. despite bishop sticking to moves considered to be 'normal', the young stallion would fall only a few short moments later.
"the worst thing about that magby," she said, turning to face her brother. "was that it was weak."
she gestured toward the limp forms of the wild pokemon.
"a lot of these pokemon are on the weak side."
ash's gaze would shift from kyle to her donphan as he settled himself at her side. her meditite murmured a polite greeting to the large fellow, and he would nod in response.
"we could try again next week?"

[googlefont=Roboto Condensed] "Yeah, yeah. A Vulpix! Right, that's what I'm looking for. No need to try again next week, see."The Vulpix seemingly came into view at the most convenient moment. The Larvitar it came with was a rarer Pokemon, he supposed, though it didn't bring as much opportunity to get out of answering more questions from his sister as the Vulpix did. He wasn't as interested in it as a Growlithe made him, but it seemed to be a popular Pokemon regardless. Maybe he can trade it for a Growlithe or something he liked instead should he find someone with a Pokemon he liked. It was already getting too late to look for more anyways. They should be going back after this last encounter and try not to get too distracted with anything along their way. To think a Vulpix would show itself just in time when he was supposed to give up was just too fitting. Kyle turned to his Rhyhorn, who seemed to already know what was expected of him.
"Go Megahorn this time. Drag it away from the Larvitar."With the horn on the tip of its snout glowing green as opposed to the not so flashy Drill Run, his Rhyhorn started charging straight at the petite Vulpix, its larger body making easy work of pushing the Fire-types frailer body away. It did not seem to be too hurt from it, aside from any minor bruising it got, as it quickly got back to its legs and released a dark aura from its body, tackling Kyle's Pokemon with its pent up energy. Payback, huh. "Metal Burst."He did not have enough opportunities to use the move, but then again, there was no need to use it against opponents that could already be dispatched with its super effective moves. Rhyhorn's body glowed white, before the Rock-type released a wave of energy from its body, hitting the Vulpix and knocking it away from its feet once more. ash shot her brother a certain look, her brows raising high upon her forehead. when he stepped forward with the intention of capturing the crimson ball of fur she released a weary little sigh.
"have fun fucking up the thing, then."
the larvitar somehow escaped the youth's focus, which left it entirely exposed to the young woman. it was currently backpedaling from the vulpix's and rhyhorn's skirmish, the whites of its eyes flashing as it searched for a potential escape route.
'you're not gettin' away,' ash thought.
her grin was sharp as she glanced down at her meditite.
"i want you to take that green thing down. let's see just how effective you are against it," she said.
despite the fearful look that would cross its features as rook stepped forward, the wild pokemon would remain steadfast once the battle had been initiated. the fight made for a fairly entertaining one, with rook being forced to wield her physical moves to whittle it down.
"use focus palm!"
the larvitar nimbly dodged the blow and immediately responded with a bite. its teeth would sink into the flesh of the meditite's right arm, which caused the little fighter to release a cry of pain as thin ivory broke skin.
"don't bother trying to shake it off!"
despite the mostly instinctual urge to wriggle, the tame pokemon forced herself to remain still. she grew increasingly stiff as the larvitar strengthened the sharp pressure currently being applied to the wound.
'the lil shit's gonna scrape the bone.'
"use force palm again!"
the larvitar would suffer from a blow to the head, its expression growing dazed as it released its grip upon the dual-type.
"finish it!"
"medi!"
rook delivered yet another harsh strike, and the rock-type toppled over immediately after.
"nice, rook," ash commented, pleased.
she then veered her attention back to her brother, curious to see if he would be able to secure the vulpix for himself.

[googlefont=Roboto Condensed] "The fuck's a frou-frou?!"The words came out as a shout, subconsciously releasing his anger on his statement when the freaking Vulpix came out of its ball for no apparent reason. He did not even want one as badly as he wanted a Growlithe, but yet, he still found himself raging over the fact that he can't get his hands on this particular Fire-type. It only made matters worse when the Fire-type was seemingly smug about its small victory, which looked totally uncool with a half beaten body like that.
"If it wants a fight, let's give it a fight. Stone Edge!"It might have been excessive to use another super effective move on an already weakened target, but Kyle's adrenaline from the rage of his target escaping the Pokeball kept him from recognizing what was overkill and what was not. He'd shrug the thought off anyways, recognizing that whatever means he used, the result would still be the same anyways. Rhyhorn sized up the smaller Fire-type, stomping his feet on the ground and erecting sharp edged stones from the ground, all of which are directed to the Vulpix that can barely keep itself up. That's what she gets for being too cocky in front of him. The attack launched the Vulpix in the air, which Kyle can thankfully follow with his eyes since the sun was almost out now. As soon as it seemed to reach the highest point in the air, he readied his Pokeball. "Don't break free from this, you hear?!"With the ball on his hand, he threw it straight towards the freefalling Pokemon, using a pitch akin to baseball and maximizing the power in the throw. At maximum velocity, it didn't take the ball long in the air to reach the intended target. At this point, Kyle wondered if a Pokemon feels the impact of a Pokeball when it collides for a capture, or if it is demateralized the moment it touches it. Capture attempt on Vulpix! MADE BY NOVA |
