Mission Title: Poaching 101[break] Mission Location: National Park[break] Mission Description: A band of known pokemon poachers known for their dog pokemon have gathered at the national park threatening to begin their next hunt here. We don't know what they're searching for exactly or why they've chosen the national park but as Rangers it's your duty to take these poachers down anyway you know how.[break] Mission Requirements: Ranger x2, / Requires 2+ Characters /10+ posts (each)[break] Mission Rewards: 2000 Pokedollars, 1 technical machine[break]

To protect pokemon from people who would do them harm. He had grown up around several different types of pokemon and they had showed him far more love than his own parents. Though he had been recently coming to understand them better.
At his side stood Tina. The trapinch ready for their first official mission as a team. A team that would soon grow from what she understood. Since they were taking on multiple poachers it only made sense to send multiple people. She was honestly kind of glad they would be working with others. It meant things would go smoother and she'd be able to protect her trainer better.
The night was young as the last rays of the sun tinted the sky pink. A lot of people roamed the park during the day so it only made sense that the criminals came here at night when they were less likely to get caught stealing pokemon. The wild pokemon would also be sleeping normally but with recent events, Vash could feel the forest was still alive. They were probably scared of the humans that hunted them. If it got any worse they may even become territorial to humans during the day.
"We got to handle this quickly Tina. Put them at ease," Vash said his voice but a whisper as he spoke to her. She tilted her head in response but had to agree.
"Hopefully we can get the jump on them. I'd like to do this without hurting their pokemon," Vash said but knew there was a very strong possibility that wasn't about to happen. He knew pokemon could be very loyal to their trainers so it all depended on them to decide whether or not to let their humans get busted so they could be freed. notes [googlefont=Open+Sans]

Alceides wasn't someone that exuded the Ranger quality of most people, certainly not like his friend-brother-rival Fred who had a strong desire to protect pokemon from humans. Nonetheless, it was the path that his parents wanted him to walk and, though he had decided he wanted to follow a different path, he wasn't going to openly disobey their orders. He had the nerve and he certainly wasn't gutless, but before his parents, he felt powerless as if he needed to obey them or else. On that train of thought, they had encouraged him to take a mission at the nearby ranger station in order to establish himself.
Sighing, Aipom giggled happily as she hopped from tree to tree in tandem with the boy's steps. The mission they received had been hand-picked by his parents beforehand, to his immense displeasure. They were to meet up with someone who was awaiting back-up in order to stop poachers from grabbing the innocent pokemon to sell or do with as they like. In that regard, he could get fired up as he detested those that involved the poor creatures in their sickening exploits. But being prodded into it made the boy a bit impetuous about it all, his overall mood not where it usually was.
The sun was kissing the ground, becoming a gorgeous pink hue and then fading away almost in the same instance. Finally arriving at the predetermined rendezvous, he crouched down as Momo launched onto his shoulder. He didn't want to make too much noise, but he also didn't want to startle the pair. One appeared to be a Trapinch, and the other a man with long, dark, black hair.
"Pssst!" he created a long 's' sound as he attempted to gain their attention before they assumed the worst of the situation. If the poachers were nearby, it would be a bad idea to get too loud. In addition, if wild pokemon heard them now they might alert everyone and everything in the area.
"Hello?~" he whispered next, so, hopefully, the duo in front of him would realize he meant no harm and that he was their reinforcements.

The sound of a hiss greeted Vash's ears making him spin around. He glared at the boy a moment unsure what he was doing crouched down. His hello making his face soften though the confusion wasn't quite gone. He was pretty young to be doing dangerous work. Still he wasn't about to judge he needed the help even if it was from the duo before him.
"They are most likely farther in," Vash said speaking normally. "You don't have to worry too much right now." He pondered the aipom a moment it would probably make a good scout for them. Tina was a bit on the slower side but made up for it in power.
"Vash Parker," he offered his hand to the boy both to help him up and for a handshake. "I assume you are my backup," he said it questioningly as he wondered if anyone else was supposed to come. He hadn't heard about anything more than one person. He had automatically assumed them capable and probably a senior due to the fact he himself was still but a rookie.
Or perhaps they assumed him the senior cause he wasn't fresh out of high school. An honest mistake he guessed. If nothing else he was at least mature and responsible; so what he lacked in experience he could make up for in capability.
"From what I understand they use canine pokemon. Beyond that is anyone's guess. There's a pretty wide variety but I'm more worried about them having arcnine's or houndoom's. If they set blaze to the park so they can escape we'll have a major dilemma on our hands," Vash said giving a low down on his thoughts.
"I think the area should be scouted first," he said looking to the aipom. "And I think your partner is perfect for that job." He gave a small smile.
He wasn't sure how good the kid would be in battle but he was definitely good for something. Vash wouldn't underestimate him; a lot of people got their pokemon early in life. It honestly gave them a lot more experience raising pokemon than those who choose to pick up their partners later in life. notes [googlefont=Open+Sans]

The glare from the man momentarily unnerved the boy, causing him to smile warily and hold out his hands to explain that he wasn't a bad guy or intending for anything unsavory. The man was pretty sharp, at least sharper than Alceides was, as he instantly realized his intentions and purpose for arriving and discussed the situation at hand. Giving his Aipom a curious glance, he nonetheless gave him the information and then proceeded to introduce himself and hold out his hand for a handshake.
Smiling back, he met the man's hand with his own in a light handshake as he relayed his name as well as Aipom's to his new partner.
"Hey, I am your handy dandy sidekick from now on, and this is partner Momo. Oh, I'm Alceides Belmont." he amended his name at the end, forgetting to mention it in the first place, as his Aipom silently shook with laughter.
"I probably don't look like much, but I won't weigh you down and I definitely won't run away," he spoke initially with a smile but became more serious as the situation called for. The man explained that they mostly utilized Pokemon of the dog variety, which was pretty interesting. It gave him an idea, as both Vash and Alceides looked to his Aipom, but he said nothing to interrupt his partner.
"We definitely don't want them to set the place ablaze, especially when we haven't even confirmed numbers or types. Mmm, come out Slothy," he called and released the Slowpoke from his ball.
On his trainer's command, he doused the Aipom with water to dispell any lingering scent she may have possessed. The technique wouldn't last forever, so she launched forward in her attempt to scout out the enemies and their positions without being detected. While they waited for her return, he decided that sharing as much information as he could on himself would help the man decide a battle plan.
"So, while she's gone there's Slothy left, I have a Seviper, and also a Buizel. Please use us as you need to!" he answered, while mostly praying that his Aipom returned to them unscathed.

Sidekick huh, well at least he wasn't pegging himself a hero. Not that Vash would peg himself much a hero either. He honestly has a tendency to overthink things. Like setting the park on fire at the mention of dog pokemon. Nothing really told him they were fire types for all he knew they could be poochyena's or mantrikes.
"Perhaps I worried too much with so many water types at hand," Vash smiled a bit. "Got Tina here." He looked to the trapinch who bobbed her head in acknowledgment. "A lapras and a scyther myself."
Between the three they could definitely handle any fire types. "We're partners in this so don't feel the need to demote yourself to sidekick. If you have any thoughts I'll listen," Vash said knowing he himself was inexperienced in the field.
Between the two of them, they had seven pokemon. Surrounding their enemy may not be too bad a plan though it would run their pokemon thin. He wasn't too sure about that as it would be easy to divide and conquer that way. Maybe some guerilla warfare? Make a bit of noise lure a poacher away and take their numbers down a notch or two before swarming them.
Vash looked out into the darkness as he thought about it. He wasn't too sure about either one. After all, it would be easy to catch on if someone from their group went missing. Vash had to hope there simply wouldn't be that many. notes [googlefont=Open+Sans]

It seemed that the abundance of water types would assuage his fears of a fire, Vash smiling lightly as he informed the boy of his own roster. Between the two of them, they had three, and Lapras was an incredibly powerful one at that. Alceides couldn't help but look at his partner in wonder, amazed by both his assumed feat and his kindness. Not only was he incredible enough to capture such a rare Pokemon, but Vash also shoved aside any thought of the boy being a mere sidekick. Kind, open to cooperation, quick thinking, this man was exactly what a ranger was supposed to be - at least in his eyes.
"Well, my first thought is that...my Aipom is probably going to waste all of my thinking with her toying around," he spoke candidly, reflecting his thoughts.
There was no doubt that any Aipom would be an incredible scouting force, but Momo was one who sought entertainment wherever she went. Even if it was going to be a bad thing. And as if the universe had found a sense of humor, leaves began to rustle indicating her return. Leaping from the branch, in a hurry, she landed on the boy's face causing him to plummet to the ground.
"Woah! Hey! What's going on?" he asked, Momo quickly repeating her name utilizing her own speech with the boy piecing together the meaning as if it was speaking to his heart, directly.
Apparently, she had located the group but was unable to distinguish any of the Pokemon, deciding that instead, it was better to return to Alceides because she was bored. Smiling nervously, he looked up to his ally in Vash before attempting to summarize what he had learned.
"Well, er, she didn't see the Pokemon but she found where they're grouped at, we'll lead the way!" he offered, excited, as he returned all of his Pokemon to their capsules to reduce the noise as they advanced. With Momo on his shoulder, he would walk at a slow enough pace for Vash to keep up with as they advanced on their enemies.

"Playful pokemon can be a hassle," Vash agreed thinking of Belle. The lapras was a handful herself and then some. Not only was she playful but she was also almost twice his height. When she started moving there was no stopping her.
The rustling of leaves put Vash on edge a moment till a certain purple pokemon launched herself back at her trainer. Vash had to smile as the pokemon as it chattered away. Though they had sent her out to scout Vash realized they...he couldn't understand pokespeech. It seemed her trainer could though.
"It's good one of us can understand pokespeech," Vash said trailing along behind with Tina. The trapinch's legs working double time to keep up. "I was wondering how good we'd be at charades." His voice slowly becoming quieter as he wondered how close they were.
His hand going to the belt where his pokeballs were so that he'd be ready the moment they came into sight. His body was rigid and on edge as they walked. His breath catching slightly as he heard the first faint voices of the poachers. He began using the park trees more hoping to get a good sight on them before alerting them of their presence.
"We need a plan," Vash whispered. "Shall we separate them or bunch them together to take out at once?" If they were going to to take them together they both needed to be in agreement. notes [googlefont=Open+Sans]

"Er well, I wouldn't go that far. I've been with this Aipom since she was an egg, from my parents, and it's really not easy...hmmm...how do I say...it's like piecing together a foreign language through context and stuff," he attempted to explain the way he translated what Momo said, horribly, before shrugging it off.
He knew of people who were able to completely understand Pokemon easily, but he wasn't at that point just yet. At the current time, it was hard enough to understand Momo and Slothy let alone the rest of them. Shaking off the unnecessary thoughts, he headed to lead them with the Aipom. The night air was nice, but the boy was sweating if only just a bit nervous at the idea of failing in such an important mission. He didn't have strong ranger-like aspirations but he didn't want to let anyone down once they had put faith in him regardless of his ability level. Each step on a fallen leaf sounded like shattered glass to the boy, who was worried it was just him.
Glancing back at his companion in Vash, uncomfortable with leading when he personally appointed him the leader, his walk was tense and rigid - he was in the same mindset as the boy. Thankfully, he had more tact than Alceides whose only plan was to rush in and begin fighting as many poachers as possible. He had good ideas when he stopped to think about it, it just wasn't often that he utilized the stop portion.
"Well, if we bunch them together it'll be easier to keep any of them from running away, right?" he asked, briefly calling upon his experience in a certain tower and how certain villain's had run away under the cover of chaos.
"Aside from that, let's get in there and show them why crime doesn't pay!" he silently cheered, a determined smile dancing on his lips.

Vash nodded in response to his silent cheer. Bunching together it was and it wasn't that bad an idea. He moved around the tree to pinch them together. Now bundled together by the rangers Vash had to wonder about how calm they were. They seemed used to being confronted for their actions.
"I suggest surrendering. It will make things much easier for you both in court and behind bars," Vash said but as he suspected the pair weren't about to give up. A houndoom and mightyena? They were as strong as he had feared they would be.
"So be it,"Vash said nodding at Tina. As much as he wanted to make this quick and take two down at once he couldn't have her use bulldoze from fear of hurting his own partner. "Earth Power," he commanded knowing it was one powerful move she had.
Tina complied bracing herself against the earth as she willed the ground beneath her foe to move. The houndoom being blasted a few inches into the air as the ground beneath it exploaded. It landed with a thud and growled as it stood back up. It's mouth flaming up as an inferno built itself up in its body. It let out a massive blast of fire.
Taken aback Vash had to retreat several steps as the heat licked at him. He stared wide eyed at the ground that had been turned to ashes in a moment it burned to hot. It hadn't spread because of its nature but little flickers of flames stood out among the blackened earth. Tina was still standing her shell blackened and her face covered in the ashes that seemed to float in the heated updraft.
"Tina," Vash whispered worried about the trapinch. Honestly, the mutt just pissed her off. Sure she was on her last leg but that wasn't going to stop her. She raised rocks from the blackend earth throwing them at her foes. There was just so many to hit both. Between her earlier attack and a rock to the head the houndoom was down for the count. notes [googlefont=Open+Sans]

Vash agreed with the boy's thoughts, surprisingly, and decided that they should bunch up the poachers before attempting to get rid of them in one fell swoop. The two advanced to where they were waiting, only to be greeted by a rather cocky duo. The two were obviously startled at the appearance of someone else, but when they saw a kid amongst them their apprehension suddenly dispersed like vapor. Frowns turned into smiles, as Vash told them that it was just best to surrender. He wasn't wrong, they were shaping up to be a pretty impressive combination in their own right! Not requiring much more provocation, they needed to defeat them anyway, Vash began to attack the Houndoom and occupied the attention of that poacher.
The other man was feeling incredibly lucky, guffawing cockily, probably relieved he didn't have to deal with the fierce Vash and his Trapinch, Tina. "Heh, kid, just give up and run. This won't even be an exercise for us, it's just a matter of course. I will crush you," he proclaimed to a smiling Alceides, who enlargened a Poke Ball in preparation.
Seeing that he wasn't going to give in without an actual fight, the man shrugged and threw a Great Ball. The contents of which erupted to reveal a Mightyena, for a moment he was dazzled by seeing Poochyena's evolved form but he had to force himself to get over it so he could save the Pokemon. Tossing his own similarly colored ball, he decided to bring out his Seviper named Ophiuchus in order to begin.
"Let's cut loose, 'kay, Ophi? Glare!" he spoke casually before quickly ordering a command, the serpent pokemon staring directly into the eyes of the Mightyena and paralyzing him. It was an incredibly unique technique, and one often reserved for other snake-like pokemon according to the Pokedex. Sucking his teeth in irritation, not prepared for such a method of attacking, the man cried for his Mightyena to begin howling. Thankfully, for him, the canine managed to avoid the effects of total paralysis and released a sharp bark that increased its attack.
Gathering poisonous energy in her mouth, the Seviper chucked a Sludge Bomb toward the Mightyena who had no time to dodge. A large cloud of smoke hid her form, but they were sure that she wasn't going to just sit still.
"Mightyena, use Crunch!" the man demanded his dog, who began to charge toward the Seviper as a set of fangs formed in the air in front of her. As she neared, the projection clamped onto the snake viciously and continued to shake her a few times before slamming her into the ground.
His teeth were grinding viciously against one another as he watched the rude treatment of his Pokemon. Mightyena prepared to move into to utilize Crunch once more, but Ophiuchus expelled a Flamethrower that charred the dark-type and kept her at bay. Normally, by this point, his Seviper would have had the upper hand. In truth, they were struggling much more than they ever had before. Weakened, he knew that his Ophiuchus would continue fighting to the last but he didn't fight to intentionally knock his own pokemon out.
"You've done a fantastic job but, I won't allow you to be hurt any further. Return Ophi," he somberly declared to his friend, before returning her to her ball. Nudging Momo, he indicated that it was now her turn to perform. The man wielding the Houndoom it seemed was no match for Vash who had the superior experience to the boy.
The poacher who was in possession of Mightyena, despite the fact that his hound was weakened and hindered, was chuckling obnoxiously at the boy's initial favor, or what he perceived it to be. The reality was that no one understood better than Alceides how weak he was, so the point with Ophi was to hope for victory but to whittle his resistance down. She had done her job splendidly, and then some and now Momo was going to finish things.
"No need for hesitation Momo, this guy is trying to do bad things and we're going to stop him! Use your Swift! Then, follow it up with Ice Punch!"
Following the directives, she jumped into the air and began to bombard the Mightyena with a shower of stars. The canine lacked any long range attacks, and so she could only move forward to where she thought the Aipom would land. The two were thinking of the same thing, as Aipom was flipping as she fell to gain momentum as the icy energy accumulated at her tail. Similarly, icy energy had formed into a pair of fangs in front of the Mightyena once more. They opened as the Aipom spun through and smashed into the dog like a hammer.
The attacks collided and created an icy mist that enveloped the two, unsure of what was happening. Inside, the two attacks had collided and both Pokemon were still standing. Mightyena attempted to use Crunch to finish the Aipom off, but Momo was feeling on fire today. Her hands and the tips of the fingers on her tail began to glow with white energy as she scratched at the Mightyena. Left-hand scratch, right-hand scratch, spin and swipe with the tail, she restlessly assaulted him as paralyzation gripped her into place. As the mist clear, there was a clear winner even though she was covered in bruises.
Crouching low and then jumping up with excitement, he let out his victory cry, "All friggin' right! That was so epic, Momo! I've never seen you so in the zone before, you made me proud!" he gushed, endlessly praising his partner for a job well done. With the Mightyena defeated, he released his Ophiuchus once more to bind the man and keep him from retreating.
Turning to Vash, it seemed that he was just waiting for the boy to finish up.
"Sorry it took so long, any problems?" he asked, before looking around.
"Were there any more? I was so swept up in battle I never thought to check if there were more than two of them!"

Vash was unsure himself as his partner wondered if there was more. The man who owned the houndoom starting to bolt as he realized this was his chance. The trapinch was too injured to move and they already had one of them. No need to catch both right? Wrong, Vash was quick to toss another ball releasing Scythia.
"Put a blade to his throat,"Vash commanded. No one hurt Tina that badly and go away with it. He returned the trapinch who was now collapsed from exhaustion. The flames having dealt serious damage.
Scythia smirked at his venom-laced words as she used agility to place herself in front of the man wrapping her blade-like arms around him making any movement precarious and dangerous. One of the two was bound to squeal like a spoink. She looked to her trainer awaiting his next order finding her current predicament enjoyable as it wasn't often she got to threaten someone's life.
"I'll let you handle the interrogation,"Vash said not quite trusting himself not to hurt one of the guys himself. "I'll check their bags for clues." He was a bit sheepish now after his violent outburst. But he loved Tina and seeing her in such bad condition just had him upset. She always owned everything she faced so he never expected to see her like that.
Vash walked over examining their bags. A few balls were full but the bags looked like they could have carried a lot more. Something told him there was probably more and they went to do a midway load up of what they already had. He couldn't be sure though as it could just be they were running low after poaching so many pokemon.
He shifted through the bags some more finding a tally of the pokemon but it was hard to match numbers by eyeballing the bags. They would have to take both bags back with them so the balls the pokemon are bound to could be destroyed and the pokemon healed and reintroduced into the wild. He zipped both up not finding much on wither or not there was more of them. He looked to Al hoping he'd found the answers they needed.

As Ophiuchus constricted the poacher that Alceides had confronted, the boy worried that he was asking for a bit much considering she was battling just mere moments ago. But she had gotten enough rest that she was lively, like normal, and grinned in satisfaction when her trainer gave her a thumbs-up. Opposite their group, it seemed that Alceides had been a bit wrong about the ease of their combat. Because he was so focused on his own battle he misunderstood the quickly glances as Vash's side easily handling the Houndoom. It wasn't as if they were unskilled, they were more than the boy, but the Houndoom must've been incredibly powerful.
The scorch marks both on the ground and covering the Trapinch's body told a malicious story, reflected in the eyes of her trainer. It was exactly as the boy would've to react if one of his friends were hurt, but it was still shocking to see up close. Kind eyes had hardened, demanding that his Scyther capture the poacher as he attempted to escape. Speeds, unlike anything he had ever seen allowed the mantis to embrace the poacher with her scythes, ensuring that if he moved he would surely regret it.
After such an emotional outburst the man became much more reserved, the boy grinning in response despite the situation. The two were so much alike that it was actually somewhat scary, aside from looks they could've practically been twins. Handing the interrogation over to Alceides, he announced that he would check their bags while the boy was free to handle the actual interrogating.
"Okaaaaaaaaaay, let's do this. Scyther if you'd be so kind as to bring him closer. Ariel, Slothy sit on the next one until I'm ready for him - Ophi, I'll need you for this," the boy began to crack his knuckle, his voice surprisingly cheery despite the awful implications behind them. His eyes glowed with wicked ingenuity, the Scyther catching a glimpse and smirking at the hidden monster within the boy.
There were very few things that angered him, and he had very little enemies, but the mistreatment of Pokemon was not something he could ever abide by nor forgive. The Scyther complied, either due to her trainer or out of respect, moving the first victim closer as Seviper flipped the first poacher onto his belly and had his Slowpoke and Buizel sit on him to ensure he didn't escape. Slowpoke's immense weight would've been enough, but Ariel was there to ensure no funny business ensued. Using Seviper, he had her hold an additional blade to the man's neck that the boy pushed in, drawing small droplets of blood.
"That's such a pretty color, I wonder what you'd look like covered in it?" he asked, smiling and licking his lips as he stared the poacher in the eyes. Unnerved by such creepy antics, made worse by the pain of the bladed tail and the precarious position overall, any thoughts of escape drained from his body and his body went limp with no resistance.
Needless to say, he squealed like a pig and revealed that they had already hidden a large number of their findings somewhere within the park so that they could finish grabbing more and quickly leave. The two were working alone, arrogant combination, so the only thing that was left to do was to find the stash. He refused to tell the boy where it was actually located, but that was fine - it wasn't as if they were going anywhere. Vash returned, looking at the boy hoping for answers.
"Slothy, use Yawn on both of them. Ophi, return to binding our catch," he ordered his Pokemon quickly, putting the culprits to sleep and ensuring that both were properly restrained once more. Once both were done, he smiled at Vash and gave him a thumbs-up.
"We finished the boss fight, now we just gotta go find the hidden treasure! They were working alone, or so he said, but they did load up most of their stolen Poke Balls into a nearby stash. I didn't get a location, but, at this point it's just a matter of a little scavenger hunt, right?"
The boy always had an optimistic view of things, smiling at the man and awaiting his instructions, and opinions, before they acted.

Vash smiled at his thumbs up. So they were all good for now. Having the seviper around was actually pretty handy it seemed. The coils around the two men ensuring no escape. A scavenger hunt didn't sound too bad. Vash pondered locations they may have hidden them.
Scythia was a bit disappointed. She had missed the whole fight then if there were no more. She cast her trainer an accusatory glance. One he knew how to ignore.
"My guess is probably just off the paths. They would hide them close to one of the entrances so they could snatch them up while they make a quick getaway, I would assume," Vash said thinking it as logical guess as any. They couldn't exactly search the whole park in one night. Not to mention it wouldn't make sense to hide it away from an entrance where they could lose the location.
"Scythia why don't you check the north," Vash said looking to the scyther who crossed her arms. "I'll take you out hunting tomorrow," Vash said with a sigh. She buzzed in response irritated but not willing to go against him. Not with a possible reward on the horizon. She took off her frame quickly disappearing into the night though the noise of her wings laster much longer.
"I'll check the east entrance if you want to cover the south and west," Vash said hoping his guess for the possible locations were right. Otherwise, they'd have a long night and possibly day cause Vash doubted if they weren't someplace obvious that they wouldn't find them at all in the dark. notes [googlefont=Open+Sans]

The boy had remained mostly silent, listening intently to Vash's thoughts and ideas because the boy wasn't too good at things like that. If it was up to Alceides, he would've just run around the park aimlessly searching until he located them likely by chance. It was great to have someone who knew what they were talking about, around! So they should carefully search the areas around the gates leading into the National Park? That was probably a really great idea, or so the boy thought, at least.
Within a few moments, Vash had announced that he was going to be investigating the entrance while his Scyther was sent to the northern gate. That left the southern and western gates for Alceides to begin searching, though he didn't have enough faith in his Pokemon to allow them to try a gate on their own.
"You've got it! If we find anything, we'll set off some kind of signal!" he declared, waving as he ran and made his way to the Southern gate to begin.
The park was still incredibly pleasant and quiet, several hours before any light would begin shining through. Although that would dampen his personal looking, his Pokemon shouldn't be mired down by the same weaknesses he suffered from. Moving from the paved path, he pushed through the trees and entered a wood filled section. The gate wasn't in sight, so he imagined that he wasn't quite ready to begin searching yet.
Looking at his shoulder, Aipom was giggling though she was covered in dust and a few wounds. He had wanted to bring Ophiuchus for the search, but she was the only shackles they had at the moment so she had a better role to fulfill. Once they finally neared the gate, they begin to search in the grass and around the trees, some of them had a hollowed out section that they had to check as well. Slowpoke, Aipom, and Buizel were all intently moving around the area in search of any bags or Pokeballs, anything odd at all, really.
Sighing in frustration, the gate that had been in the distance became closer and closer as they swept the area to no avail, it seemed. The poachers had either stashed them at the Western Gate, where he was moving to currently, or they had been located by Scyther or Vash. Either way, he didn't want to head back before at least ensuring that they weren't at the western side. If he showed up empty-handed, and they did as well, that would be embarrassing to explain.
