Frying the poor Snorunt to a crisp, Seviper released a trill filled with happiness as she defeated her first wild pokemon, the boy jumping in the air and raising his arms in excitement as well. He cheered for his Seviper, who then wrapped around Alceides affectionately and licked his cheek. All three of them began to laugh until a fourth angry sneer intruded the serenity of the moment. Dragging her sharp claws along the ice-covered stone he created a sharp, grating sound that forced him to cover his ears to resist the pain. It seems that they had stumbled upon a particularly aggressive pokemon, all the while just hoping to find a Seel. Sighing, he prepared to return Ophiuchus who smacked the ball with her tail.

Widened eyes connected with the poison snake, who clearly indicated that she wasn't going to go back, just yet. She had much more to give and, though she did respect her owner, she wanted to fight for him. Faced with such resolve he couldn't deny her the opportunity and even more than that, he felt a bit more connected with her. She was a fighter, unlike any in her ranks, and that was something that he enjoyed the most.

"Alright, then let's start this off with Swagger!" he commanded his partner, sending her slinking forward and then attempting to confuse him.

To their dismay, the Sneasel instantly countered with Taunt to ensure that the pair would be unable to do anything but attack. If only it had understood that, that option was by far worse than being hit by the Swagger. Gathering fire within her stomach, she expelled it almost like a burp as the unsuspecting Sneasel was enveloped in flames. Being dealt incredible burns, the already angry weasel darted forward and rammed his body into Seviper with Quick Attack. Not wasting any time, he made a kick at the snake that she easily dodged before heading in to use Wrap. Unfortunately, the initial strike had been a feint and Sneasel lashed back with a Feint Attack.

Not being blown away by the impact, she worked around it and curled her body tightly around the Sneasel. Struggling to release the Seviper, she began scratching her body frantically. Surprisingly resilient, Seviper refused to let go as she increased the pressure of her Wrap.

"Alright, you've got him right where we want him! Finish it with Flamethrower!" he demanded, the Seviper refusing to let go while enveloping the weasel in a plume of flames that knocked him out much like the Snorunt from earlier.

"Alright! That was not too shabby at all, Ophiuchus! Good on ya," he praised the Seviper, before returning her to the Great Ball he had captured her with. Though she had resisted vehemently earlier, she was now two battles in and very close to passing out herself.

There was no telling who would emerge last, so he wanted to wait and see before making a decision.

Returning the poisonous snake back to her ball, having fought more than enough, the area around them seemed to grow even chiller. The white mist that had been indicating their breath and position suddenly turned into a mini-fog as a faint jingling echoed throughout the cavern. Backing up slowly, she appeared clearing out the mist but maintaining the outrageous degree. Even though she was covered in fur, even Momo began to shiver from the frost. Smiling empathetically, though shivering himself, he returned her to the ball she normally claimed. Flipping open his Pokedex, a short response was given once he scanned and identified the unknown one.

"Froslass, the Snow Land Pokemon; Legends in snowy regions say that a woman who was lost on an icy mountain was reborn as Froslass."

Hearing such a dark, ominous tale added to the already cold atmosphere giving him chills of a different nature. It was Ghost and Ice dual typed, meaning that fighting attacks wouldn't be effective and neither would normal narrowing his options for battle quite a bit. Seviper would've been the best bet, possessing both Flamethrower and Dark Pulse, but asking her to contribute any further would just be cruel. The woman eyed Alceides dangerously, clearly aggravated before their encounter began most likely due to his gender, unbeknownst to the boy.

The option he chose was an odd one considering the typing, but that didn't actually put her at a disadvantage. "Alright, all eyes are on you Ariel!" he shouted, tossing forth the ball that he had received in a trade and released a female Buizel.

Twitching, the temperature obviously didn't bother her due to her spending her days in the freezing water all the time. Her fur was better equipped to handle the elements, eyeing down her opposition with delight. Wasting no further time, the Froslass released a freezing wind that attacked the Buizel and lowered her speed.

"Fight back with Water Gun!" he ordered, Ariel expelling a stream of water that pushed back the wind, due to having more substance, smashing into the Froslass with the rest freezing and shattering.

"So pretty..." he whispered, the shattered ice forming a dust in the air that sparkled so beautifully, the battles in the cave fueling his desire to become a Coordinator and even creating some ideas toward that ideal. Froslass was not as pleased with the result, bringing an arm-like appendage to her lips before sending forward a large pink heart.

"Alright, Ariel, fight it back with Water Gun once more! Then, use Pursuit!"

Having much more time to react, the Buizel launched another burst of water toward the heart that had been approaching keeping it at bay as the two attacks struggled against one another. This time, the two dispelled one another and exploded into a cloud of vapor due to the water. Under the cover of the mist, the Buizel chased after the ghost and smashed into her cloaked in a dark aura. A super-effective attack, the Froslass cried in pain and anger before gathering a large orb of flames in front of her.

Alceides' eyes widened in shock, not realizing that an Ice-type could possess a fire attack. Ariel instantly cloaked herself in the dark aura once more, ramming her body into the ghoul once more before being cloaked in flames. It must've been the Will-o-Wisp the Pokedex mentioned earlier, though the boy had no knowledge of such a move until now. His Buizel had been burned, crying as the pain from the burn kicked in. Froslass giggled menacingly, floating around the Buizel who was on her knees. Waiting for her to close in, his panicked voice echoed across the cavern.

"Use Water Gun to propel yourself into the air, then use it as you descend directly above her!"

With a cry in the affirmative, the Pokemon released the liquid from her maw and launched herself into the air, shocking the Froslass. As she towered over top of the Froslass, Ariel began to douse the Froslass until she landed. Once she did, sliding toward her trainer no longer excited for battle, they awaited the results...

To see they had won the battle!

"That was so great, Ariel, I'm so proud of ya!" he exclaimed, picking her up and spinning her up as the pair giggled.
