It'd been five days since his arrival onto the route nearing the pokemon league. Azad had surrounded himself amidst fire pokemon setting himself up by the river as a sort of home base for the man. His primary goal was to deal with the almost glaring weakness his team had to fire type pokemon, and so for the last five days he'd been delving into battle after battle learning to combat the techniques of fire type monsters not only with Aros, but with Fai, and Nero as well. Today's focus However would be Aros, and so with only the steel type at his back the man would move through the route Piercing Green eyes focused searching for any that dared to match the trainer's leading golem.
As the man and his partner moved the trainer couldn't help but think back on the previous days and how much he and the entirety of his team had grown. He was beginning to feel different, more accomplished despite his lack of gym badges. In the time since the outcry and falling of Madatsubomi Tower the trainer was an entirely different man now.
He was more hardened his decisions and calls in battle were instant, or near too it. Where the man once hesitated a sole beldum at his side he was experienced able to battle with not the best of them but with at least the experienced sufficiently. He'd even made the ranking board of trainers to watch out for this season despite again his lack of badges backing up his skills. While the man came into the journey caring almost solely about the rankings he barely even glanced at it these days. Though now that he thought about it more fully and thinking on the goals of his organization soon it would be time to start taking down gyms, the only question was where to start.
But that was all too far in the future, right now his focus needed to be on this program and so those emerald eyes would peer into the rocky outcroppings waiting for a challenge to make itself known.

A pokemon he'd seen more than often enough on his training stint it was the prior evolution of Macargo, Sluma. A pokemon made of what seemed to be lava itself dangerous to the touch and extremely prevalent in the fire centered wilderness. Even with the pokemon's reputation as dangerous, or perhaps rather annoying to deal with Azad and his focus pokemon of the day wouldn't back down. Without even needing an order the dual type steel and psychic pokemon would float forward eyes resting on the rather slimy enemy. "You already know the drill, avoid making contact use your new skills to deflect any fire attacks." A loud metallic affirmative would sound from the golem pokemon before the duo allowed the burning enemy to take the first and final attack.
Judging from the way the fires on its body began to bubble Azad could predict the technique the pokemon was preparing to use having seen it so many times at this point. Flame Burst, it worked like an explosion of sorts. The pokemon would release a small bomb sized ember that would burst into a fiery explosion after a certain amount of time had passed. The explosion would be impossible to contain but in its controlled state it was a move that cold be dealt with easily enough.
And so the prediction came true.
The Slugma would almost vomit the larger ember, but ebfore it could explode Azad would order his counter, "Psychic." And so the orb would stop mid movement exploding on the side closer to the fire type leaving Metang Safe from any of the blasts recoil. With the technique dealt with the Professor would order the golem into the match winning technique, "Psychic." And so the Metang refusing to dispell the psychic energy would simply displace it into the slugma the fire type slamming into a stone burning a hole into the rock as it lie there now unconscious. With the enemy taken care of the trainer would continue forward.

The next pokemon to appear was another common to the area, but held little interest to the trainer despite its rather interesting physiology. It's evolution was also a rather entertaining thing to study. It was known to many as the eruption pokemon it's back serving as a small volcano on a living creature that when using fire type attacks the back of Numel would erupt producing ash and flames to match the ones it created from its mouth. Despite having run into the pokemon before Azad would pull his pokedex out doing minor research surrounding the fire type pokemon studying its move set and how exactly it could injure the Aros. Despite it's rather dopey appearance the ground type was dangerous on two fronts, being a ground type alongside a fire type added an entirely new vulnerability to the steel type that stood ready for battle.
Almost immediately the Trainer would order Magnet rise if only to eliminate the first weakness the numel held against the ground type pokemon. The fire type would respond almost as expected unleashing an earth power cracks traveling across the earth small plumes of fire threatening to suck the trainer and the pokemon in if it hadn't risen higher off the ground moments ago. While the pokemon looked dopey it wouldn't give up so easily noticing that it's first technique had failed it'd create a lavaplume the funnel on its back puffing smoke out a signal that the fire type technique was coming. It was time to utilize their new skills the second time, lava plume however as far more explosive than flameburst and as such Azad's only option was really controlling the lava before it even began to spread. And so they'd begin Sequence two of the technique. "Lift the earth with psychic." As the numel began to fire the lava based attack the earth would break apart and rise serving as a wall to counteract the incoming flames heat generated and melting against the mounds of rock and ground the steel type had lifted to serve as a defense.
When the attack finally ended Azad would then order the finishing blow. "Zen headbutt." And so the steel type would blast itself forward psychic energies refusing to fade only strengthening around a single point on Aros' body. As the the attack contented the fire type would slump signaling an end to the second fight of the day.

The final pokemon to appear was one he'd taken down before or at least of the same species of one he'd taken down before. Then again, there weren't many pokemon on this route he hadn't at least encountered at this point and so doubles or even triples of certain species weren't uncommon. If anything it gave Azad an edge on how to deal with them. Metang looked a bit weary from the previous fights now having over exerted its psychic energy in the constant training not only in battle, but in its other exercises and simply helping Azad traverse the mountainous region himself
Even so it was like the Metang to stand down or admit weakness the pokemon was much like its trainer in that regard, and so Azad would make the call having the Metang return relaxing on the sidelines for this one, (something the pokemon grudgingly agreed to, all the while calling a new pokemon from its pokeball. In a flash of red light an Eevee would appear eyeing down the familiar foe, knowing what the fire type was capable of for the most part.
"You know the drill, blind and strike. Stay on your toes. It's powerful, but not as fast. Begin with sand attack." With orders given the eevee would bounce forward immediately kicking a cloud of dust into the dark type pokemon's eyes as it attempted to launch a truly blazing fire attack blue flames rising and exploding as they hit the ground cleanly missing the normal type. It would only take a single attack of that power to knock out the eevee and both the trainer and the fox like pokemon itself knew it further forcing the normal type to stay on his toes as the battle continued.
It wasn't as much grueling as it was long. With sand constantly covering the hound's eyes the fox was able to avoid it's badly aimed attacks countering with it's covet slamming into the houndoom a number of times before finally the hellhound fell into submission knocked unconscious by a final covet. With the battle over Eevee would return to the trainer and the two would make their way back to base camp as the sun had begun to set.
