It seems your exploring of the mountain has stirred up a presence that was normally asleep. From a cavern ahead, you see a still object with a gleaming red orb in the center. Identifiable as an eye, it spots you two trainers, and the statue like object stirs. What in the world could it be?

This pokemon is not catchable nor defeatable! Escape from the threat of the Regirock! HER HAND TURNED carefully as the orb went still in her grip, wrist shifting to turn the center of the blue and red marked ball to face her. The light indicating the Aerodactyl's struggle had gone dim, indicating the capture successful. Lashes dropped slowly over her eyes as she gazed over it a moment, the ball shrinking in her grip as she prepared to return it to her bag.[break][break]

Dragonite breathed out softly was she eased her tail in closer to herself, the vicious bite of the creature's jaws having left the length of her tail pulsing with a sharp pain. It would be a while before she could recover from the attack.[break][break]

Glancing over her shoulder at Chance's laugh, her hand moved to tuck the orb safely away in her trusted dufflebag, fingers moving blindly to zip it closed. She stared toward him in thoughtful silence as he joked about her 'bad side,' not fully deciphering the humor despite his tone. Her eyes trailed after Skeptile as he climbed along the wall, lingering in the direction he had left as he disappeared.[break][break]

❝ It's because... ❞ she began, her eyes dropping toward Chancellor as she continued. ❝ He's in the wrong — ❞[break][break]

The pause was unlike her usual, the word hanging as an unfinished thought in the air as her gaze directed itself just over Chancelor's shoulder, staring at a shift in the darkness. Her pale, dust-covered skin covered in goosebumps despite her placid expression, the Dragonair behind her suddenly at attention as the wings at the sides of her face stood stiff in full alert, dark eyes setting their gaze in the exact same place as her trainer's.[break][break]

❝ Era. ❞[break][break]

The cavern rumbled as Regirock turned in a corner in a distant corridor, the stone-bodied legendary's face lighting a dangerous red as it locked its focus on the group.[break][break]

Her hand moved of its own accord to unzip her bag and drag out her subminiature camera, lifting the device as her eyes remained locked on the clear crimson gleam of an H now turned fully toward them. As much danger as she was in, her feet weren't moving.[break][break]

With a hollow, graveled cry the Legendary stepped forward, pebbles and thin grains of soil trickling down from the ceiling under the weight of its heavy step.[break][break]

'click'[break][break]

Her camera snapped an image in the darkness.[break][break]

'click' 'click' 'click' The machine suddenly snapped in rapid succession as the scientist eagerly took every shot she could manage. The angered Guardian suddenly lurched forward, the ground trembling under its step as it rose an arm toward the flickering blink of the camera's flash, the light of its central eye gleaming.[break][break]

Dragonite swiftly swept her body to act as a shield between the approaching Legend and her trainer, giving a lone, mournful cry to draw its attention before snaking sharply to the other side of the corridor, abruptly putting some distance between herself and the young scientist. A flash of lightning spiked through the tunnel to strike out at the ancient being before it could attack, Noelani being quick to take an picture in the brief moment of light before the entire tunnel was swallowed in a blinding glow.[break][break]

The lightning danced and bounced from the stone walls, the distance proved to be too great to properly aim either attack as the graceful body of the Dragonair danced smoothly to the side, narrowly avoiding the powerful ray and leaving its light colliding with the corner of a tunnel behind them. Another quake vibrated through the network of caves.[break][break]

❝ We have to go. ❞

[break][break]With a lilting song Dragonite agreed, her form slipping back toward her trainer as her tail snaked itself to coil its way about her slight form. Her fins gave a dull, white glow as they spanned out to their full length, bowed like ivory wings at either side of her face before flaring open to search the tunnel's air currents.[break][break]

'click' 'click' 'click' The professor was proving to be unstoppable with her camera, managing her photos even with her pokémon's tail wrapped securely just under her arms to swallow the shape of her torso. The dragon paid Chance the scarcest glance as she whipped her body in a smooth circle to turn back the way they came, the end of her tail reaching toward him just in case he wanted to take hold.[break][break]
