Always Remember To Smile A cloud of smoke kicked up behind the throttling motorbike as Drew made his way across route 44. The bike was red in color, his hands gripping the handles with a tight grip as the trainer’s face was in its usual soft smiling state. Johto was a pretty cool region, it was a heck of a lot more open than Unova and the air was so clean he could breathe like a champ without any worry. “Man, I should have come this way years ago, everything is so...” his words were stopped by a coughing fit, he’d cough into a closed fist as he slowed down his bike, “Heh, no time to admire the beauty I guess.” he placed his hand back on the throttle a roared back down his path. Soon he’d arrive at the location he had heard about in Choji town, from what he had heard he could probably catch some choice Ice-type Pokemon here, it was called the ice path after all! Drew’s mind began to wander as he began to think about what was lurking in the legendary ‘ice path’ maybe there’d be huge ice Pokemon like Mamoswine or something cute like Snowrunt! Oh, the possibilities were endless!Stopping his bike just in front of the path he parked it at the entrance and raised his goggles, “Hm, doesn’t seem too bad.” he began speaking to himself, that’d be before he noticed someone else was here. “Hey, bud! You trying to get some ice too?” he casually addressed the stranger after honking his horn at them to get their attention, “Lets head in yeah?” he pointed at the route with a thumb.

Always Remember To Smile The kid was a small thing, seemed to be poor that or a it was one heck of a fashion statement. Regardless their reason for looking so drab Drew approached them with a grin on his face as they joined side by side to walk down the icy path. Just as he entered he felt the coolness of that radiated off of the crystallized walls of the path send a shiver through his body. This was the right place alright.
Looking over to the blue-headed kid he’d take the chance to study them for a short period. They were young that was for certain, but such youth wouldn’t be on its own if they had strong Pokemon right? Perhaps they were just playing off the youthful demeanor as a front to hide the fact they were a powerful trainer~ Or maybe they were just a kid. Who knew.
The silence was a bit... Much, so to lighten things up Drew began to whistle to himself, a bad tune with no means of rhythm or quality just absent-minded whistling.
Soon, things began to heat up a Growlithe came bumbling from a corner seeming to be melting the ice around it.
“Well you’ll be a nice warm up~” he chuckled to himself as he tossed Teem’s Pokeball into the air. In a flash of bright white light Teemu the Mudkip was summoned forth in all of his glory. The two Pokemon locked eyes, circling eachother before the Growlith snapped forward with bite locking its jaws on the Mudkip’s head fin.
In reaction to such a brutish attack Drew chuckled to himself and whistled once again for his Pokemon’s attention, “Use takedown to pin it to one of the walls!” he snapped at his Pokemon, the Mudkip obeyed and in a show of power drove the growlithe into a wall with take down pinning the fire type against one of the ice cave’s walls and the amphibian’s blue body. In a frantic effort the dog fired a few rounds of ember in a desperate attempt to escape, such an effort earned it a quite a reward~
“Hydro Pump!” Drew made the order curtly as he began laughing again. Once again, Teems would listen and with a powerful jet of water obliterated the growlithe with ease. The stream would last for a few seconds before Drew would whistle for a stoppage. In the end not only was the fire type unable to battle but it was likely going to die drenched with that much water in such a cold cave. So was the circle of life.

SHUPPET was a solid eight levels higher than the other pokemon, and though VICTORY didn't exactly have the technology, she had a decent idea of how to see strength in the pokemon world. for one... after yipping at the girl aggressively, vulpix began with tail whip, and VICTORY knew for a fact that most stronger pokemon would go for something else, at the very least. SHUPPET's night shade easily brought it down to critical health, and the tiny fox barely withstood the strain of the ghost-type attack. deciding to cut it's losses, the fox ran away, stumbling on one of it's legs away from the battle and towards the entrance of the cave. VICTORY didn't bother chasing after it; she knew she'd won that fight, and SHUPPET had easily taken the win. however... the mudkip's treatment of the growlithe was another problem. several vows made up the pokemon league agreement required to gain a trainer card. one of them was the fair treatment of all pokemon. mind, this was about as nitpicky as jaywalking, but VICTORY had studied long and hard to be eligible for her trainer card, especially since they'd changed the test to make it harder to pass the exam by fifth grade. in any case, VICTORY felt absolutely horrible, when it came to the growlithe. it was such a small pokemon, and it probably wouldn't last too long being drenched in the ice. it was a fire-type, so when it came to, it could easily heat itself up, but unconscious? it probably couldn't. when VICTORY fought wild pokemon, she usually only fought when pokemon attacked her. there were too many pokemon in the wild to start attacking indiscriminately, at least, in VICTORY's capacity. it made her feel morally right, at least. in this case, the growlithe wasn't doing anything of note. it wasn't even attacking anyone. it was defending itself, and that's what it was doing the entire battle. VICTORY suddenly shed the coat off her back, leaving her in nothing but a loose, ragged tank top that had probably been taken out of somebody's dumpster, judging by the month-old stains and the dirty white color. wrapping up the growlithe in her only protection against the cold cave, VICTORY carried the dog to a corner with the least amount of ice, even taking some hand warmers and activating them, putting them in the hoodie. VICTORY gave the man a cruel look and snorted derisively before rushing past him, walking deeper into the cave with only herself and SHUPPET. the meaning was clear, even if she was mute. Always Remember To Smile Drew looked back at the girl, he could tell she was disgusted with his treatment of the Growlithe. The cute little glare from her eyes, the scrunch of her adorable button nose and furrowing brows made her look like an adorable but angry little teddy bear. She must have been one of THOSE types: Those who hold the well being of Pokemon over themselves.
Instead of returning a glare he’d smile, even going as far as to applaud her attempt to keep the Pokemon warm, “That was nice of you, trying to keep it warm and all, but now you’ve hindered yourself. Do you think that wild mutt would do the same for you?” he waited for her answer. Given she hadn’t spoken before he figured the words would resonate some what.
“If you give your clothes to every Pokemon I’m gonna KO you’re gonna be leaving this tomb bare.” he proceeded to make his way deeper into the path. Of course, he didn’t mean it. If this kid was gonna be giving her clothes to every Pokemon he knocked cold there was no use in being any more brutal.. Or less.
As he walked on he had found another Pokemon in the icy path, this one was strange in appearance. Its body was yellow in color, its neck was long and limbs were stubby. It must have been the Pokemon numel, an odd find all the way in Johto. Teems was still at his side and stopping in his tracks he’d point at the calf fire type.
Stepping forward the Mudip shook his body before facing down the Pokemon, “Let’s make this one quick, but lighten up on the water works.” he pointed at the Pokemon and smirked, ‘Give it a hydro pump aim for the hole on its back.”
The blue Pokemon would open its mouth and fire a mighty jet of water from its maw at the Numel at full force. The water would hit the sluggish Pokemon and knock it back. This time he wouldn’t as brutal as he was to the dog. The numel was knocked into one of the walls and bounced off. It was another Knock out.
“Alright, you don’t have to worry, this one probably won’t die so don’t go stripping again.”

[attr="class","foreign"] [attr="class","dust"] [attr="class","gold"]PLAYER: VICTORY [attr="class","gold"]BADGES: 0 [attr="class","gold"]POKEDEX: 5 ulla [attr="class","sun"]i'm a champion of people who don't believe in champions VICTORY lowered her head, losing herself in her own thoughts.. being nice to someone didn't mean they had to be nice to you, they taught that in cartoons all the time. that's what batman did literally every time, anyways, and VICTORY always trusted batman. the idea of only ever giving back when you get something just didn't sound right to VICTORY. and, in any case, something in the back of her mind came to the front, drawn on by what she imagined to be the man's ridicule. it's not like she mattered more than these pokemon, anyways. in fact, she was probably worth very little. less, even. (homeless. underage. unemployed. orphaned/disowned. no gym badges. no battle experience. no income.) the SHUPPET behind her was currently eating up some sort of morbid, soppy energy from her, almost like tar mixed with vomit in it's viscosity, and anyone who knew it's pokedex energy would understand why. this went on until the next encounter; VICTORY's feet shuffled and she walked forwards almost lifelessly, and SHUPPET had herself a feast. the magby that arrived was the only thing to snap VICTORY out of it. her eyes blazed with the reflection of light off the ice, almost shimmering like a torch as she went through several hand signs. SHUPPET, void of it's meal and seeing VICTORY's command, almost lazily floated in front of her to battle. the battle begun and ended quickly. SHUPPET started with a shadow sneak, knocking the magby into a nearby wall. the magby blew flame at SHUPPET as it got back on it's feet, and SHUPPET floated under the volley of small embers. seeing an opening, the ghost-type used shadow sneak once more, rendering the magby unconscious. Always Remember To Smile Was she still mad at him? He sure hoped not, sure she was just a kid that looked well... Dirty, but having them mad at him, well that'd break his icy blue heart. He wasn't a abd guy he just wanted to ensure that the Pokemon around here knew who was boss, that didn't mean he wanted to harm them mostly just impose his will on them and take them out for the benefit of his own Pokemon, that was all. She was jsut too young to to understand why he did what he did and why what he did was good for the community of Pokemon in this world of Johto.
He'd asks her her name but it seemed she had no interest in speaking to him from point to point as they advanced down their merry way to the end of the path. Just as they made their end they had encountered another pair of Pokemon he took most interest in the fire monkey looking one, it would have been a great addition to his team.
Cracking his knuckles he pointed his mudkip at it and almost instantaneously it fired a hydro pump that pinned the Chimchar to a wall, the water pressure so great the chimp Pokemon could barely cry out it was being pinned so badly. Following up the barrage of water Drew orded a take down out of his Mudkip and the mudkip listened without any issue. It bounded for the panting ape Pokemon and slammed its head into its gut with so much force one might have sword there was an audible crack echoing in the passage as the Pokemon battled. The chimchar cried out in pain, but it was all for not as the mudkip pinned it back against the wall.
Drew simply tossed a Pokeball at the defeated fire type and nodded as he watched the ball shake. It's over. (capture attempt)
