Lars could tell she was scared. To be honest, he was, too.He knew he had to be strong, so he kept his face as impassive as possible—at least until he heard a muffled sniffling coming from the girl he was carrying with her. “Shh, hey… don’t be afraid. I’m here,” he began, looking around and being careful to avoid the hole in the floor before a sudden pair of eyes appeared and tried to scare him to stay behind on the upper floor. “Sui!” he called out as he looked over his shoulder to see his Marshtomp dealing with some of the malicious ghost-types with a powerful blast of water that forced them back into the shadows. “Over here!” he added a few moments later as the pair of eyes materialized into another ghost-type Pokémon and attempted to Lick both him and the young girl, who was now crying earnestly into his shoulder. Growling at the incoming Ghost-type, the Marshtomp released a powerful blast of water, knocking it down and away from where the two stood. “Is...is it gone now?” he heard a muffled sniffling from his shoulder, and the Marshtomp then took the lead, spitting out more blasts of water at the rest of the incoming Ghost-types, clearing a way for Lars to get to without getting accosted too much by the annoying spectres that were intent on slowing them down. “Suijin took care of them,” he said softly to the young girl he was carrying as he made a mad dash across the cleared way and finally reached the stairwell. Picking out the weak spots in the staircase, he slowly but surely made his way down, finally arriving close enough to where Zuri stood, taking care of the rest of the creepies that were trying to swarm them. “Sui!” he called up the stairs, and a few seconds later a blur practically rocketed down the steps, coming to a crash-landing a few moments later at his feet. Unamused, the Marshtomp picked himself up, before dusting himself down and glaring at the stairwell that led to the floor above. “Let’s go,” he said in Zuri’s direction, whistling in his Marshtomp’s direction for the other to run forward and make a mad dash for the exit. “Almost got cornered by some other ghosts up there but I’m fine, let’s hightail it out of here,” he added a few moments later. ★ Do what scares you, then you'll have the heart of a lion. Zuri took the rear with a nod. "Sidhe, psybeam let's go," Zuri called to the meowstic. The cat pokemon using the beam to knock those chancing him away and bringing up the rear. He released another knocking away those that rushed after them from behind. Their steps against the wooden floor seemed loud as they bolted for the door.
It didn't take long to reach the door Zuri stepping ahead to toss the door open for Lars and the girl in his arms. Her father looking up as they slammed their way out. The redhead standing there a moment longer to wait on Sidhe as he made the last dash after dispelling the ghost once more.
The spirits knowing they had lost let out wails of displeasure before floating away. Their colors dispersed but they were still there waiting for the next idiot to venture in. She let the door shut pulling in her ability so she could see their faces. The fathers full of nothing but relief for his little girl.
"A well enough ending I suppose," Zuri said walking up beside Lars watching the reunion. Both were crying but anyone could tell it was mostly happy tears. "She's at least learned not to go running into abandoned buildings anymore."
"Couldn't have done it without you," Zuri meant that too. There was no way she'd be able to outrun those ghosts while holding or pulling along a little girl. She was glad to not have been alone in there. She had figured she had had it covered now though she knew otherwise. She had underestimated the amount of ghost that had taken up residence.
She no longer needed Ezili or Sidhe so she returned them to their pokeballs. They needed their rest after all that. Sidhe may be physically exhausted but poor Ezili had been shaking like a leaf most the time she was no doubt mentally drained.

Thankfully the rest of the spectres had been dissuaded by the combined efforts of Zuri’s companion as well as his Marshtomp—who continued to fire off powerful jets of water at the incoming Ghost-types that had a really bad case of the munchies. Thankfully, once they were down and out of the Burned Tower, the spectres didn’t follow them—seeing as they chose to remain in the cold, damp darkness they were used to. The moment he’d crossed the steps and came within sight of the father who’d been anxiously waiting for their return, he’d crouched down long enough for the girl to hop out of his hands and make a mad beeline towards her father. Never mind that his shoulder was rather damp due to the little one’s tears; as long as they’d gotten her down and out of the Tower; he was fine with what happened. Oh, wait, he thought as the Marshtomp came running after him, eventually touching his leg with one of its finned ‘hands’. “Yeah, I know. Give them some time, I’ll get it to them,” he said as he then patted the Marshtomp’s head and giving the father and daughter some room. Eventually, he then reached into the messenger bag he had with him and pulled out the sandwiches and the water, before handing it to the father. “She’s definitely hungry—not to mention thirsty. We had to bail out of there as quickly as we could, the Ghost-types were swarming. But here, this is for her,” he explained as he pressed the food and drink into the father’s other hand. “Hopefully she doesn’t cause you too much worry in the future,” he added a few moments later before rubbing the back of his neck, and eventually turning to Zuri. “All’s well that ends well, don’t you think?” he said in her direction, before eventually recalling suijin back into his Pokéball to let him rest. ★ Do what scares you, then you'll have the heart of a lion. He hadn't forgotten the supplies he had brought. Although it was kind of hard to when he'd been carrying the bag around the whole time. At least in Zuri's opinion though the events of the place could have overwritten anything in the face of danger. He looked like a honest and caring man. Not bad looking either she could see him as popular with kids and parents alike.
"Indeed," she responded to his inquiry. "I'm glad she is safe. Kids see me more as an authority figure and tend to avoid me but I do love them. That's the reason I go out of my way to do things like this from time to time."
"Will you be sticking around this region," Zuri asked questioningly. "It might be nice to have a future backup as well." She could always ask her brother but it was better to have someone who wasn't as eccentric around. Of course, if he said yes that meant exchanging phone numbers. Something she was more than willing to do as she reached for it in her pocket.
That was odd for her now that she thought about it. She wasn't the sort of person to give her number to someone she just met. Though he had made a well enough appearance. It wasn't like this was a bar though and he wasn't trying to pick her up. It must simply be the fact he feels trustworthy. Or some chemical reaction that she couldn't ignore for some reason. Either way part of her hoped to meet with him again.

“It comes with your job, being a teacher and all,” Lars began, rubbing the back of his neck before doing a double-take at her next question. His eyebrows rose slightly, before he replied, “I came from Hoenn for a reason…well, several actually. I’m going to be hanging around here and there, so that’s a definite yes,” and then reached for the phone he’d picked up over in Violet once he’d managed to secure himself a temporary place to stay. Well, he was starting over again in a completely foreign region, so he’d be poking around the place as much as possible; as long as he wanted to. And then there’s that thing with my mother’s family that I still have to dig deeper into… he thought to himself as his other hand absentmindedly wandered to the necklace he wore hidden under his coat, before his left hand re-emerged with his phone. Once he’d managed to unlock his unit and find the number he hadn’t committed to memory just yet, his other hand then reached for his small black notebook which he kept in his coat and pulled it out, before balancing the phone in his other hand and quickly flipping the notebook open to a fresh page at the back and scratching his number down on the blank sheet and ripping it out before folding it and handing it to her. “Here’s my number,” he continued in her direction a few moments later, handing her the folded piece of paper.
