Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith
Is when it's tested again and again everyday
I'm still comparing your past to my future
It might be your wound but they're my sutures

Rainmaker Well, a name that normally would have been the woman's prime example of an enemy. The mention of water alone was usually enough to deter her unless there had been a civilization for her to hide in or... no, that was it. Fortunately for her, names like those usually didn't mean the literal events they copied. It didn't hurt that she knew of the main residents of the great hole in the wall, that very knowledge being main the reason for her visit. Something she wouldn't have even lied about even if it might've seemed a bit too opportunistic.
But not every could be a winner when it came to certain things. For her that was battling and for her pokemon, that usually meant she had to either get creative or start picking on the little guys for them to ever keep up with the harsh necessities of life. In their case that usually meant at least keeping to the figurative levels of the bad guys who'd pop up every now and then, using the term lightly of course. Literally but lightly. It wasn't like she could just ignore a blatant disregard for law, not to mention declining or ignoring some kind of mission those in her field often underwent if only for their morals' sake... Truthfully, she could have possibly just ignored all that, used her personal occupation as an excuse; but that didn't sit well with the woman. Why? Well, she really didn't know. A matter of pride perhaps?
Plus a little bit of training for her more newly hatched partner wouldn't have been something for her to ignore in the first place. The electric sheep was always sparking for a fight, butting her head at literally anything that even remotely looked like it had a face- some trees had learned that a while back, poor things. The energy had to come out in some way that didn't involve Tamamo beating her senseless... again. Which came to the well-known slowpokes of Yadon Well and who better to grind out some of that energy on other than the very creatures weak to her pokemon's element.
See? Opportunistic to a fault. Good thing there was no one to complain. Yet. So while the getting was still good, Velvet walked her happy self right into dimness of the cavern's well. The scent of wet stone hit her like, well; rainfall really. Distinct and refreshing yet still worrying for the bag at her hip. Still didn't stop her from looking around, maybe taking a picture or two. If she had some gum, she'd have looked like the perfect teen tourist.
