//Mystical hand motion.//
I think when I joined I had a very optimistic approach, but in all things I am first and foremost lazy, so I'm not surprised I've lost steam. But even so my motivations going into this probably weren't the right ones, or at least not the best, so there's that too.
I like to roleplay pokemon not
just because the setting's interesting, but because it fills the void of nostalgia I experience as the years go by and entire generations of pokemon I've never been able to see, capture or train pass me by. It allows me to immerse myself in that world I've had to leave behind due to financial constraints (because screw buying a new handheld every 2~4 years,) and so I've always had the guilty pleasure of attempting to join these sites to basically emulate the real thing.
As far as 'roleplaying' pokemon goes, I take a very generic approach and am pretty ignorant to most of the nuances of the world beyond the basic concepts.
It's also never been a primary interest to build my characters, or to explore the site plot.
First and foremost, I came here to build a team of pokemon in pretty much the way the staple games went:
Pick a type effective against a few gyms every time you need a new one, and eventually round them off. But I've always been particularly picky about my pokemon as well, which makes playing the games easier as you've got a fair bit of control over it and extensive knowledge on things like spawn locations, etc. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who camped just outside Sandgem for an early game Shinx.)
Also, cheat codes, because why not after your first play through?
In short, I don't have the right reasons to be here, so I've lost interest.
It's nothing wrong with anything other than my motivations. This isn't a cry out about one system or another not living up to expectations. I just know now that what I want to get out of it isn't realistic and is only giving me more to worry about purely because of my perception as someone with a different (and purportedly wrong) kind of goal.
In the future I think I'll reflect on this experience to avoid committing to the same mistake again and putting peoples' work to waste. I'd like to personally apologize to anyone that has reached out to me (namely COMET,) who made efforts to include me in their plots, whom I've now failed by announcing my departure. It's not really fair when someone flakes on you, but I do take some consolation in the fact we haven't gotten very far; I hope you can make the best of it without me and pardon my poor etiquette.
It was entertaining to be a part of the community/Discord. You guys have an experience to offer in that alone, which makes this site all the better for it. I'm sure going forward you will all have great experiences together as you progress forward. I regret that I will not be there to revel alongside you as your character's stories develop even further.

*Remove his WIP if you haven't already, anyway.Also as a parting gift, if I may, I'd like to bestow what few possessions I had earned over the course of my brief tenure to COMET and Noble, namely the pokemon I've collected and the currency I've earned alongside the free Safari Ticket, if I can. I don't really want to have to stick around and delegate who gets what, so if that's necessary as per the trading/gifting system, then nevermind. Otherwise I'd like to allow them the opportunity to discuss between themselves and determine a fair settlement.
Personally I feel guilty flaking without much warning, and although this is a poor consolation prize, I'd like to offer it. If not, then I understand.
Peace.
P.S. May the Force be with you.
(Can't believe I didn't think of this the first time around.)
