Altair was generally confused, not only was his first ever opponent a zubat, one of the most common, and least used pokemon in the land of Johto, but his Ralts seemed adament about fighting the pesky creatures. Altair couldn't find a reason as to why his pokemon would ever want to do such a thing until further inspection. Altair noticed something hidden within the pokemons grip "Alright guess all great adventures start somewhere" Altair muttered under his breath as he flipped open his pokedex 'Although I have no goals in catching one of you, I think it'd be best to make sure I have your data' Altair thought to himself as the pokedex responded "Zubat: The poison flying pokemon, although zubats normally travel in flocks they remain timid unless provoked, these small pokemon tend to be mistreated by trainers, however can be powerful later on. Tread carefully in caves a zubat will almost always appear" The device spoke without hesitation.



Altair let out a sigh as the zubat had enough of its waiting and began to charge. Without further notice it used the single most annoying move any zubat knew Super Sonic Altair grinned happily as he replied quickly "ATEM USE CONFUSION!" Altair said as his right hand moved towards the zubat as seemed to twitch and begin falling from the sky "Seriously?" Altair said as the Zubat caught flight once more attempting a absorb attack. Altair couldn't help but smirk "ATEM ONCE MORE USE CONFUSION!" Altair spoke as the confusion started again. This time more sever as the zubat became confused and slammed face first into the charred floor "Well that must have hurt" Altair said with a calm tone as the item fell from its grip. Its wings flapped a bit more keeping flight as it reared its head at Atem once more attempting absorb. This time the attack hit home injuring poor Atem a little bit "YOU JERK!" Altair screamed in the heat of the moment.



"THAT'S IT ATEM NO MERCY USE CONFUSION FULL POWER!" Altair spoke in a powerful booming voice as Atem used all of its strength once more sending it's confusing attack towards the zubat. The zubat had already been weakened to a critical state, and even Altair felt bad for the over dramatic attack as the zubat fell to the ground with a thud. Altair let out a sigh of relief as the beast had been slain. He could care less about the item as he ran to Atem who was only mildly injured "Atem!" Altair cried as his hands ran over the pokemons cheeks "Are you okay, do you need a potion?!?!" Altair asked as his eyes inspected for open wounds which he could find none. After Atem smile and hugged Altairs hand he smiled "Okay, next time be careful, I would never forgive myself if you were seriously hurt" Altair spoke turning to the fainted pokemon slowly walking towards it. Behind it was a bag that looked like it had belonged to someone. Without a second guess Altair opened the bag to find....

(Zubat fainted, requesting new encounter, and bag searched)

Altair gave out a little sigh as he wandered within the burned tower. It wasn't as if it was boring, however tiresome. He hadn't seen any of the pokemon he expected to, and that was to be expected since he was just a newbie trainer there was no way for him to know where to find strong pokemon companions. It wasn't his fault moreover the fault of fate for making his destiny so dragged on. He had a new accessory though, the bag the zubat had dropped was now draped over his right shoulder, it was only right that he hold onto the item, since there might be someone who lost it. It was only the nicest thing to do to hold onto the bag for its owner.



Altair let out another sigh as his steps began to slow. It was only fair that he didn't come across a pokemon for a short period of time. The way Altair had handled the zubat must have made the area's pokemon a little less likely to show their faces to him. Altair let his finger tap against his chin 'Luckily there was nothing in the bag I might have been tempted to take its loot' Altair thought to himself as a droplet of purple goop began to drip from the roof "What the hel-" Altair was able to get out before a large pile of the same goop slammed in front of him sending small purple droplets around it. Altair gave a look of pure detest towards the pokemon "Are you kidding me?" Altair spoke flipping his pokedex out and letting it assess the situation "Grimer: The purple sludge pokemon, it tends to be around heated and electrical areas, although its appearance is grotesque it holds a high ability to poison other pokemon, so beware' The pokedex spoke without compassion.



"Well you heard it Atem" Altair spoke flipping his pokedex closed "Well then lets handle this, CONFUSION" Altair said as a smile over came his face whilst he pointed towards the mucky grimer. With a thud the Grimer was sent back without hesitation 'Huh must be super effective' Altair thought to himself flipping his pokedex open once more to write down the effects of psychic moves against poison. His mistake was caught by the Grimer who without notice sent his attack MUD SLAP at Atem, without a sudden thought Atem was hit with a load of muddy soil. Altair let his teeth grind against each other "THAT'S IT ATEM CONFUSION!" Altair spoke with a loud and cold tone as he did with the Zubat. The confusion hit as expected, but instead of a normal knock back it sent the Grimer into the air "HAHA GREAT! ATEM CONFUSION ONCE MORE WHILST IT'S IN FLIGHT!" Altair said pointing towards the flying pile of sledge. Without a second thought Atem sent its attack towards the pokemon once more. The hit was super effective splattering the sledge against the burnt pillars of the tower "Good job Atem" Altair said moving towards his pokemon rubbing it's head with a loving glance downwards to see it's muddy appearance "Um well I'll clean you up when we get back okay? Altair said with a calm tone as Atem nodded.



Cracking his neck Altair pulled a pokeball from his waistband "Alright Atem the next pokemon will have to be caught, although it it's a zubat we are just going to knock it out, I don't have time to train a pokemon I wont use." Altair said with the kindest tone he could muster. In truth he still held animosity towards the pokemon since it was the first one to harm his partner. It wasn't troublesome reaching the second floor of the tower, however as he slowly walked forward he ran into a wild....

(Bummer about the bag but oh well haha)

Altair let out a childish happy scream as he found the vulpix. Born with six tails as it wonder the burnt upstairs of the tower no more than two meters from him "ATEM! That's our next companion!" Altair spoke loud enough so the vulpix could hear. as he flipped his Pokedex open the mechanical words began to spill out once more. "Vulpix: The fire type fox pokemon, it is said Vulpix are born with six tails, but on special occurrences you may find one whose tails haven't split. Encounter rates for males are low!" The pokedex spoke in it's bias tone. Altair looked down towards the screen before speaking "Atem confusion before it hits you first" Altair said as he noticed the Vulpix was male.



"OH! So it's a rare encounter then!" Altair spoke closing his pokedex with a gleeful face as his Atem has landed the blow. Unlike the pokemon before this Vulpix was quick, before Atem or Altair could celebrate instantly an attack came towards Atem. It was EMBER the small flame hit Atem with a lack of compassion sending the poor pokemon back slightly "Atem don't worry I have plenty of potions for afterwards! Confusion once more!" Altair said watching the Vulpix limp slightly. The Vulpix wasn't ready as the second confusion sent the pokemon slamming against the wall wobbling slightly. 'This is strange... This pokemon must be a bit stronger than the others?' Altair thought to himself. Atem watched carefully as the Vulpix moved closer. It was clear it was exhausted by their battle already. The life it must have lived in the tower should have been peaceful.



Altair let out a sight "Listen I'm sorry... My request is a bit selfish, but I'm in need of more companions." Altair began to speak looking at Atem "Atem use confusion once more" Altair spoke in a grim tone as Atem listened sending Vulpix smashing against the wall once more. It seemed as though the smaller pokemon seemed to give up on the fight as it began to slowly get ups and use Baby-Doll Eyes a move that lowered Atems will to hurt the pokemon so much so Atem took his eyes off Vulpix looking towards Altair "Ralllts?" Atem spoked, Altair let out a kind smile "It's okay Atem" Altair said patting Atems head with his left hand as his right hand would now be clenching a fully sized pokeball. "It's time to try it" Altair spoke tossing his pokeball at the pokemon.



The Vulpix attempted to dodge, however the pokeball slammed against it's tail without mercy quickly bouncing off. The familiar red light shot off at the Vulpix forcing it into its spherical prison once more Altair witnessed this moment, however he was never ready for it as the pokeball met the floor. Altair took a look at Atem who was currently stumbling slightly "You okay little bud?" Altair asked as his hand placed itself against against Atems head. That's when Altair looked towards the pokeball, and was surprised as it wobbled once, then twice. Slowly Altair paced towards the pokeball. Pulling as second one from his waist band as Atem slowly paced towards the pokeball they were anxious to see if their hard work through the tower had paid off. The made it a foot from the pokeball as....(Do I catch it or retry?)
