▲ " it's not food, you little idiot." ash grimaced as she forced her gloved fingers into the sliggoo's mouth to remove the miracle seed she had just bestowed upon him several seconds prior. " it's not a toy, either." she shook off the excess saliva and curiously sticky substance that clung to her leather-covered hand, the small seed held within her grasp as her gaze flitted between it and the softly whining sliggoo whom reached for it. " no, cleric. and stop acting like a baby," she chastised. the pokemon's antenna's drooped, his sightless eyes partly lidded to reveal his state of disappointment. ash couldn't help but snort at the sight of him before tucking the miracle seed into the tight trappings of her denim shorts after wiping it off on the sturdy fabric. 'i'll have to make it into jewelry or something. maybe a collar?' she'd just figure it out at a later hour. " there should be some easy pickings out here." the young woman shifted her gaze toward vivian, a subtle yet affectionate smile situating itself upon her face as she focused upon the woman. " so they shouldn't give your gible too much trouble." ash and vivian had traveled to this particular route for the express purpose of training their fledgling dragons. with the red-head expecting to speed along the sliggoo's inevitable evolution once she had been informed of his age and matured state. basically, he was ready, but he required a bit more experience in order for his body to take on the superior form of a goodra. " a garchomp would suit ya," the younger fighter remarked. " are you trying to fast track him or something?" 'fast tracking' meaning that vivian would focus on the gible's training above all else. ash had done the same, and was actually in the midst of prioritizing her 'goo monster' over her other companions. Her gible, who seemed to refuse to evolve for one reason or another, was utterly terrified of both Ash and the overbearingly simple-minded dragon that she possessed. Several times now, the gible had shrieked and latched to the back of the trainer's leg whenever the other trainer or dragon-type grew too close for comfort. Gible had also developed this..nasty habit of biting things she liked to either calm her nerves or show affection...Lo and behold, the new several bruises that etched across the back of the trainer's legs thanks to this little 'habit'. [break][break] "Stop it, you little shit," Vivian snapped at the gible, only for large, teary eyes to stare up at from where the pokemon trembled in place. 'Ugh, dammit,' she internally hissed - this damn thing was too sensitive for her to yell or snap at...God, why couldn't she just take it back to the Dragon's Den? [break][break] Her violet gaze would flicker back towards Ash as the woman spoke to her, trying not to show just how tired her gible made her. "Good. I already have a fucking headache." The woman bitterly replied, but, there was a playful tone in her voice as she nodded towards Ash. She was...a bit grateful for her company, honestly. Alright - perhaps 'bit' was an understatement, but, really, she preferred to be out here with the woman even over hr own boyfriend, in all honesty. As much as she loved him, training with Ash to the way their personalities melded really...did something for her. She could be as much of an asshole as she wanted, and Ash accepted it. And, honestly, Vivian appreciated it. [break][break] Gay Feelings aside though, she really was hoping seeing another dragon-type in action would let the gible gain some more confidence in herself. Even if that dragon-type was literally...Asta's incarnation. [break][break] "Yeah," she'd answer her friend with a nod, "she's been getting some coaching from Asta, but, she's got a long way to go before she's useful-" Big, tearful eyes would stare up at the woman, making her bite her lip once more, "stronger." She'd correct with a little cough, trying her hardest not to roll her eyes or scoff at the overly sensitive pokemon that clung to her leg. [break][break] "I'm...still not really sure why you went with that of all things," she'd give the sliggo a distasteful glance. "I thought you'd go with somethin' like a...Salamance. Or a Hydreigon." There was a certain light in her eyes as she spoke of the three-headed terror dragon- god she wanted one of those. "You're kinda weird, Ash." ▲ ash grinned knowingly at the pair, having picked up on both their dynamic and the somewhat unusual behavior of the gible. she had assumed such a breed of 'mon would be far more fierce, but she surmised that perhaps that this particular dragon-type was - well - different. 'like asta.' the tyranitar was far softer than the vast majority of his kind, his spirit a remarkably gentle one. " he ain't that bad," ash replied. " he listens - well, ah - he listens most of the time." 'and he isn't a crybaby.' which was surprising despite how kindly and friendly the sliggoo was; and there was even a certain level of toughness present within the goo-covered specimen. " sliggooooo," cleric chirped. the creature raised his sightless gaze until it somehow settled upon his mistress before he crooned softly. " and ya like things a lil weird," the red-head continued, shifting her gaze back to her companion. there was the smallest amount of lewdness that had very discreetly crept into her tone, a twinkle present within her gaze as a barely there smirk took shape. " let's get to work, then. ya already know how this works. we find a 'mon, beat it, and get some much-needed experience in exchange." cleric continued to peer up at her, his antenna twitching lightly. " cleric, use that radar system of yours. find us something." the dragon blinked and then nodded his head in understanding before making his way deeper into the route and leaving a trail of slime in his wake. " hey, vivi," ash said. " i picked going out here for a reason." ash gestured toward the sky, the thick covering of gray cloud fairly obvious. " sliggoo only evolve when it rains. so ya may get a lil wet." as they followed after the sliggoo, they would indulge in light and casual conversation. the topics were commonplace ones, with only the occasional mention of LORE slipping in. everything had been peaceful of late, after all, and there was little need to discuss the small organization when there wasn't much to talk about. " slig!" the pair would come across a poliwrath and psyduck whom appeared to be either close friends or a mated pair. ash grinned at the sight of them before she looked to vivian and glanced at her accompanying gible. " uh, you take the psyduck. the poliwrath is mine." ash glanced skyward, frowned slightly, and then gave her sliggoo and order. " cleric, use 'absorb'!" the pokemon release a beam of energy that would strike the poliwrath directly. and once a small portion of its energy had been successfully sapped, it would retaliate by rushing the smaller dragon with a roar. " sliggoo!" " poli!" cleric proved himself to be an eager participant, giddy and maintaining a gummy little smile as he exchanged attacks with the infuriated water-type. She was an exceptional trainer, something that had long since earned her the respect from the orange haired female. [break][break] And so, with a small chuckle and smile, Vivian would only roll her eyes once more, lightly and playfully shoving the female. "One day, I'll give you a detailed explanation of what weird shit I like," she'd state in a rather suggestive tone, her tiny smile transforming into her ever familiar, cocky smirk soon enough as the 'game plan' was revealed. "'Course. It'll be a breeze." [break][break] Watching as that odd, slimy dragon began to do its 'thing' in location them a decent challenge, the mention of rain and a quick glance overhead at the otherwise poor weather made an ever familiar wince come over the female's expression. Soon, she'd turn to give Ash a slight glower. "...Why the fuck do you always drag me into situations with water?" The trainer couldn't help but complain, a loud sigh coming from her lips, but, she otherwise seemed to accept the inevitable - she was gonna get soaked. Great. [break][break] Thankfully though, she didn't go any further into her dislike of the area nor complain about it any longer, as she opted to pass the time talking to her companion about various things. Even if she rarely, if ever, stated it, she...was grateful for Ash's company, more often than not. They shared a similar mindset, and talking to the other girl was refreshing in ways that Fred nor even Azad could supply. And, she was grateful for it, really. [break][break] Unfortunately, their time to socialize was cut short by the sudden appearance of the dumb psychic duck and its steroid armed friend. Ash, at least, saved her the embarrassment of having to ask to fight the obviously weaker opponent. "Lilith," she'd call out to her gible, who trembled slightly, but, stepped forward towards the challenge. The Psyduck would let out a little cry before sending out a Water Pulse towards the gible. Nimbly dodging, Lilith would disappear underneath the ground, skillfully utilizing Dig - a skill she had learned after their encounter with an onix not too long ago. [break][break] Eventually, she'd reappear behind the Psyduck, not opting to attack via Dig, but, use it as a means to gain access to its blind spot. With that, she'd land a critical Dragon Rush - which dealt with the water type quicker than Vivian had expected. The timid pokemon was growing stronger - much stronger, and it was something that made the red/orange haired trainer proud. While Lilith was still as shy as ever, her confidence in battle and ability to dispatch her opponent with skill was growing. She was, otherwise, becoming an actual dragon. [break][break] Still, the little pokemon had yet to evolve. A familiar white glow would encase her form, only for it to die moments later with a firm shake of the gible's head. She'd frantically scramble about in favor of hiding behind Vivian once more, who could only sigh. "You'll...evolve when you're ready, I guess." ▲ " it's gonna rain. i swear it is." a majority of the time spent within the confines of the route had been spent enduring prolonged periods of silence as ash peered skyward. her blue-eyed gaze was filled to the brim with the hope that the rain would come sooner rather than later. the air, after all, was thick with the scent of water, the clouds appearing far too heavy to retain what was stored within. 'can't i at least have a drizzle?' even a little would do - for it would be just enough to squeeze an evolution out of her sliggoo. " any moment now," she promised. ash periodically sent vivian a sheepish little smile that bordered on apologetic. she silently begged whichever force of nature that handled the weather to coax the water free - thankfully, it would only require roughly a half hour for her prayers to be answered. " sliggooooo." her pokemon crooned as a splash of liquid connected with his round muzzle. eventually, that droplet would be followed by another and then another. it wouldn't be long before a light rain descended upon their little party, with ash grinning widely as she observed the weather's gradual change. " likin' it, cleric?" the dragon bobbed his head up and down to confirm that he was indeed satisfied by the conditions. " let's get movin' then." ash prompted vivian, lilith and cleric to follow her lead. they would leave the comfort of the trees and their thick foliage that shielded them from the worst of the rain more often than naught as they continued onward. the red-head's pace was somewhat hurried, and she would only utter the occasional apology as they were thoroughly drenched as the rain grew worse in intensity. despite the discomfort and humidity that caused her to sweat beneath her clothes, she remained steadfast in her goal, brushing aside her thoroughly soaked bangs as she searched for a suitable target to work with. 'there's a lombre.' she was somewhat familiar with that particular breed of 'mon - that and the other one which she managed to quickly identify as a nuzleaf. admittedly, they weren't the best match ups against her dragon, but ash felt as though he could manage against either. " imma take down the lombre." once the words were uttered that alerted vivian of her chosen target, the red-head would go about instructing cleric to strike out against the dual-type. it had only just turned to face them, a hint of bewilderment pinching at its human-like features. ash allowed her dragon free reign during this particular skirmish, forced to shield her eyes from the onslaught of rain as it continued to mercilessly beat down upon their heads. " sligggg." the battle was, surprisingly, fast-paced despite cleric remaining mostly stationary. the lombre proved fast, managing to dart to and fro and tank quite a few hits without even the barest flinch. it was admirably strong despite her dragon being well-learnt due to his prior experience in both life and battle. and as he dug deeper and relied upon his knowledge gained thus far to gain the upper hand, his body would be enveloped in a light. 'this is it,' ash thought. her grin bordered on feral as her sliggoo began to reach his final stage. his body grew frighteningly large, and his opponent would wisely retreat a step; the paw once raised to deliver a harsh blow falling as it sought to quickly distance itself from the now imposing figure. it found itself being towered over by a bipedal beast composed of a fair amount of muscle, fat, and goo. " ...!" cleric released a rumbling noise, his thick tail unfurling and slamming into the moist earth to leave a slight impression in its wake. he moved to step closer to his opponent, only for the lombre to quickly retreat, fleeing upon its two legs as it did so. " i knew it," ash said, resisting the urge to hop up and down. " i knew it! i knew he was ready." the goodra blinked, uncertain of what to make of the dramatic change to his body, but it didn't take him entirely long to realize that he liked it. a slow and cocky smile that vaguely resembled his mistress's own began to form as his tail swayed from side to side. The fact that they'd been here for what - thirty minutes now? And nothing. Nada. no even a single damn drop. At this point, she was willing to pour a cup of damn water over the sliggoo and force it to believe it was raining if that meant the damn thing could evolve already. [break][break] But, alas, it seemed Arceus would stop screwing with them. Drop after drop of rain began to fall, as the rain's intensity only seemed to grow by the minute. Heavy drops were able to past the broad leaves of the tree tops, leaving both trainers thoroughly soaked...fan-fuckig-tastic. Looking like a cat that'd been thrown into a pool, Vivian's expression wasn't exactly...pleased. She, thankfully, didn't seem irritated at Ash - a feat only Ash could boast; really, the patience she had with the girl was far greater than anyone else. That still didn't mean that the fighter didn't look as though she were ready to fight the rain itself right the and there.[break][break] Thankfully, it didn't take too much longer to find suitable opponents for their dragons to train against. Whilst Cleric deal with one, Lilith would deal with the other. While she lacked the experience and skill Cleric did, she, thankfully, was much better than she'd been before. The first several moments between her and the Nuzleaf was a graceful dance of well aimed attacks and careful dodges - something Vivian noted the pokemon needed to work on - she was a bit slow, clunky, even, as the pokemon's Leaf Blade hit her over and over several times. Still, a well-placed Dragon Rush followed by a Tackle was all that was needed to finish the swift grass/dark type off.[break][break] Shaking herself off and looking just as unamused as her trainer in regards to the rain situation, both Lilith and Vivian would mange to catch a glimpse of Cleric's grand evolution to his final stage - a goodra. While, admittedly, yes, the pokemon looked pretty...goofy, there was an obvious hidden power he seemed to elude. Something that made even the ever timid Lilith step closer in awe as a single glance from the fully evolved dragon was enough to send the pokemon running off in fear. Her jaw would drop as her eyes would widen, something akin to intense yearning dwelling within the small dragon...Could she end up like that? Intimidating enough - strong enough to make pokemon fear and respect her...like a true dragon?[break][break] Vivian, oblivious to her pokemon's internal dilemma, would nod at Ash, approaching the red head to give her shoulder a gentle nudge. "Congratulations," she'd grin, "you two, big guy. Still look dopey as hell, but, you got strength to ya." She'd give Cleric her own nod of approval. Her lips parted once more to suggest to Ash that they 'leave now,' as she was thoroughly tired of being drenched. However, something small would suddenly pull on her pants leg, making the orange haired female glance down to see...Lilith? However, there was something different in the dragon's eyes - something...fiery? [break][break] And then, Vivian suddenly understood what it was the dragon was trying to convey to her. She was ready.[break][break] "Hey." She'd speak up to Ash, "can we go one more round before we leave? There's something important that's...popped up, I guess." ▲ " one more round?" ash's reply was positively dripping with amusement, for she had naturally assumed that vivian was joking. " i thought you - " the red-head finally tugged her gaze toward her companion, her eyes widening a fraction as she took in the sight of the pair. after a moment of comprehending the going ons, ash would nod her head in understanding. " no problem, vivi." no matter the circumstances, it was highly doubtful that ash would ever refuse a request made by the older woman - not without damn good reason. her attraction to the female coupled with just how much she admired her caused the fighter to ignore all else in favor of catering to the woman's various needs. additionally, vivian had endured the shitty weather for her own sake, so she would do so in return and without complaint. 'it's as easy as returning the favor.' she looked to her dragon, her grin just as wide as it had been before vivi had presented her question. " up for another go, cleric?" cleric had been in the midst of flexing his ears and tail experimentally, visibly relishing the power stored within them. he would raise his green-eyed gaze and nod his head after a moment of consideration, eager to make use of his newfound power. " let's get goin' then." their trek was slow, the rain only letting up on occasion before regaining its strength and thoroughly drenching the pair and their respective companions. ash remained cheery despite this, delighted that her pokemon had managed to reach such a stage. her gaze would settle upon him more often than not, taking in his form with an open display of admiration. " we should run into something," ash said, breaking up the silence with her words and the jovial tone that carried them. she doubted this route would be sparsely populated, and chalked up their bit of bad luck with encountering a pokemon as just that - bad luck. it was inevitable that they'd run into something, and they would roughly fifteen or so minutes later. it was yet another pair of pokemon, addressing one another in a casual tone and with a friendly air about them. " those two," the red-head said, thrusting a finger in the creature's direction. " the slug is mine. cleric!" the dragon moved forward at a decent rate, closing the distance between himself and a slow jog before wielding his ears as makeshift whips to segregate the two wilds. once he had forced the gastrodon away, he would initiate the fight with a low rumble, eyes bright as he forced the dual-type into battle. Unfortunately for Ash, rarely did she ever voice this gratefulness, but, it was prevalent enough in her gestures, at least. With a single nod, she'd follow behind her fellow ginger, letting her deal more so with looking for their next opponents while she just sorta focused on not cursing out the rain. Seriously, if one more god damned drop got into her eye...[break][break] Thankfully, after a bit of walking, their sights came across their final two opponents...a weird pair. Hopefully, they'd provide a good enough fight though. Much to Vivian's own dismay though, that stupid, big-lipped ass bird made it start raining harder. And so, she was more than happy to beat the crap out of the stupid thing. Really, the fighter looked like a soaked cat - she looked miserable. [break][break] Either way, her eyes slid to the dragon type that stood before her, Lilith's eyes trained onto the pelipper that squawked threateningly at them. "The fight's up to you. Don't lose." The trainer simple stated, taking a step back and crossing her arms. Lilith nodded, determination shining in her gaze. She briefly stared at Cleric once more with something akin to awe before looking back at the water/flying type. [break][break] Closing her eyes, the gible concentrated, taking a deep breath. A bright light began to envelop her, and for a moment, she flinched. If she evolved, there'd be no going back. She couldn't go back to the Dragon Den....she'd be a full fledged member of her trainer's team. She'd be expected by as strong as even her tyranitar...she'd...She'd have to bear the burden of getting stronger. But, for the single trainer who had given her this chance - and showed her nothing but belief...She could do it. She would do it. And she'd do so with her head held high.[break][break] With a loud, rippling roar, the gible's form became larger and far more dragon-like. When the light died, there stood not the short, stubby form of a gible, but, of a gabite, who held her head high. With another loud roar, the dragon/ground type charged forward in a Dragon Rush - it was a one hit knockout, as the far more powerful attack hit into the pelipper like a truck and sent it flying. [break][break] Timidly, Lilith would glance back to her trainer...and yet, nothing but warmth surged through the dragon when she saw pride glowing within her trainer's eyes. A bit cocky, perhaps even smug...but, it was there. [break][break] Although Vivian said nothing, she'd soon give a roll of her shoulders, a wide smirk on her lips. "Alright, lets get out of this shitty rain."[attr="class","twobeenotes"]
