After a much-needed trip to the spa, Natalia was now on her way through the Safari zone with three safari balls and Lilith at her side. She'd heard about there being Vulpix' in the Safari Zone and namely about there being Alolan Vulpix'. Now, Vulpix' happened to be a canine Pokemon and more importantly, the white ones were to die for. Maybe not literally, but honestly, Natalia couldn't wait to see if she could get one of the cuties on her team. Why? Mostly becase she was desperate and selfishly they'd always been the cutest things to her since their discovery! She'd nearly gone to Alola herself to get one, but work always prohibited it. Which was a shame, because what a fun atmosphere that would be, hm?[break][break]
"Are you ready, Lilith?" Her female Houndour barked her approval, bounding through the small area before Howling, as if to beckon the Vulpix to them. "Oh, that's sweet Lith, but I don't think they'll come running to your voice..." But, who knew? Maybe they'd find a Vulpix that just wanted to be their friend. Wouldn't that be fantastic?[break][break]

As Lilith made her way through the area, there was a small bark and out from the grass ran a Vulpix. While it wasn't beautiful and white, it was still cute, and Natalia found herself in a small bit of a struggle. To catch the Vulpix and lose a Pokeball, or to let the little fox go. Seemed the Vulpix had different plans, yipping at Natalia and Lilith before flashing her BABY-DOLL EYES toward the two.[break][break]
Momentarily taken aback, Lilith snorted, not at all impressed by the shimmering cuteness that was the Vulpix trying to get the upper hand. Lilith HOWLed, a way to show her dominance as she puffed herself up. Vulpix faded from sight as Lilith howled.[break][break]
"It's probably a Quick Attack, brace yourself!"[break][break]
Natalia's words came just in time. Lilith had braced herself and then spat out a SMOG while the Vulpix was close. The smoke didn't miss and the Vulpix found herself coughing and shaking her head. She let loose an EMBER at Lilith's feet, which Lilith repaid with her own EMBER. As it settled at the Vuplix' feet, she seemed to nearly purr and relax into the small flames.[break][break]
"It's flames aren't going to work! Use Bite and Smog instead!" Although she was excited for seeing the spunk that Vulpix had, she didn't want to get too close, because she didn't want to get that smog into her lungs and be nauseated the whole time they looked for a white Vulpix.[break][break]
Lilith obeyed Natalia's command and let loose another SMOG. Vulpix coughed, POISON causing her lungs to close in. She faded from sight, quickly ramming into the Houndour with a QUICK ATTACK, but she couldn't get away from her quick enough, a BITE to her neck causing her to yelp and lie on the ground. She didn't struggle long and Lilith released her neck while Natalia threw one of the Safariballs.[break][break]
With a small smile, Natalia moved her hands over her Houndour quickly. "Well done, Lith. Well done." Natalia congratulated her pup, watching as the Safariball wiggled on the grass, light flashing.

Watching the Safariball click shut, Natalia grinned and gave Lilith a kiss. "Look at that, we've got ourselves a foxie! Even if she's not the right color." With a frown, Natalia looked up to see a ... was that a Bidoof? "Wow, what large teeth he has." Natalia couldn't help but stare at the small glint they let off when the sun hit them just right.[break][break]
Lilith huffed and gave a bark at the Bidoof, who seemed to sniff the air and then spout a few terrible things about justice. Lilith snorted before sending an EMBER right to the Bidoof's feet. It caused the little beaver of a Pokemon to curl up into a ball, raising its defense with a DEFENSE CURL. Lilith couldn't help but growl, moving close to give a part of that ball a FIRE FANG right in the kisser. Bidoof gave his own GROWL, unraveling and scurrying away. He began little snorts and squeals at the Houndour, pointing with one of his strangely thin little paws and then rolling up into a ball to give a ROLLOUT.[break][break]
"Watch out! That'll sting if we let him hit you more than once!" Natalia warned, wincing and gritting her teeth as the first hit rammed into Lilith. "Smog! Blind him, then keep quiet and watch out for him. He'll unravel when he misses, get him with your jaws, keep him close!"[break][break]
As the Bidoof came closer, Lilith let a SMOG light up the area in a thick fog, moving out of the way of the next attack. Once out of the way, she waited, listening to the sound of the Bidoof rolling around. Once she heard a grunt, signifying that the Bidoof was out, coughing followed and the Houndour quickly honed in, chomping down with yet another blazing FIRE FANG attack. A squeal left the Bidoof and he took off toward the woods, deciding that he'd serve justice on a day he had a water move he could douse that damned Houndour with.[break][break]
"Great job!" Natalia congratulated her Houndour before tossing her a treat, which the Houndour quickly devoured with a happy trot forward, chest puffed out proudly. It was a good battle, wasn't it?

Without much warning, something came diving from one of the trees right into Natalia's side. With a surprised yelp, Natalia turned and swatted at whatever it was. With a thud, the Hawlucha hit the ground, only to bounce up and give a sort of victorious spin. Like it was trying to get an audience to give a roar at its performance. Natalia couldn't help how she growled in tune with her Pokemon - well the human equivalent anyway - and she pointed at the creature in an annoyed rage. "Smog!"[break][break]
Without a second thought, Lilith clouded the Hawlucha with the SMOG, but the Hawlucha came launching out of the thick poisonous gas with a shimmering WING ATTACK. Houndour was hit, letting out a yelp.[break][break]
A whistle with a certain pitch rang through the air and Lilith took it as her cue. Her own fangs seemed to ignite as she bit down on the Hawlucha's previously glowing wing with her own FIRE FANG. Another short whistle from Natalia followed by a snap and Lilith released the Hawlucha and leaped back, spouting out another SMOG. With a cough, the Hawlucha fixed her eyes on the Houndour and came out of the thick fog with her small hand at the end of her wing glowing this time.[break][break]
Natalia quickly snapped her fingers to call Lilith back in a retreat. "Careful!" Fighting wasn't nice to dark types, and Natalia wasn't used to it, having trained mostly Growlithes back in Kanto.[break][break]
The KARATE CHOP that the Hawlucha let loose barely missed, but Lilith returned the favor with yet another FIRE FANG, biting down on the Hawlucha's leg and grinding her hot fangs into its feathers in hopes to get past them and to her skin for a better impact. Hawlucha let out a cry, her hand was glowing yet again as she used KARATE CHOP to get the fighting type off of her leg. Lilith rolled as her body was hit, so close range, it felt like she'd broken something.[break][break]
"Lilith!" Natalia called, ready to run over but she stopped when she saw Lilith getting up for round two. With a cough, the Houndour glared toward the Hawlucha and shook her body. She barely had strength left, and Natalia knew that their hunt for that white Vulpix... it wasn't worth Lilith's pain. She returned the Houndour to her belt and looked to the Hawlucha, moving her hands up in a surrender. "Well done," she told the wild safari Pokemon. "I'll forfeit." Her time in the Safari was over.[break][break]

With a sigh, Natalia looked at the Pokeball in her hand that held her defeated Lilith. As she made her way back toward the beginning, thinking it was best to get her healed up as soon as possible, she saw something very white stumble into the road. With a bark of sorts, the Alolan Vulpix turned to look at the blonde trainer, fluffing his fur at her and bouncing toward her with a ROAR of sorts, but it did nothing to the trainer who seemed far too excited to see him. Oh no, was she one of those types of trainers??[break][break]
Natalia couldn't believe her eyes! She'd actually found one! "I'm sorry Lilith, you've done brilliantly." She kissed the Pokeball before throwing out Lucifer's and replacing Lilith onto her belt. "Alright Lucy," she could see the Houndour flinch at the use of his name. "Let's get ourselves a cute little Vulpix, hm?"[break][break]
Oh Arceus and the Divine Dragons, the blonde threw out a Pokeball with another one of those fire demons inside it. With a small panic, the Vulpix flipped around and used a TAIL WHIP, fluffing his white tails in the Houndour's face. Lucifer snorted before his muzzle wrinkled in discontent. Didn't his Vulpix understand that the cold ones just weren't his type? He liked his women with a fire, like Lilith. Not that he liked Lilith or anything...[break][break]
To get the Vulpix' rear end out of his face, the Houndour spat an EMBER at it. Immediately the Vulpix cried out, flipping around and using a POWDER SNOW right back at the Houndour. With a simple snort, Lucifer shook the snow from his body. Natalia's whistle signaled he fade from sight, appearing to hit the Vulpix with a FEINT ATTACK. After a small squeal, the Vulpix ran away from the mean-ass Houndour and behind Natalia.[break][break]
Raising her hand to Houndour to get him to stop, Natalia looked down at the little Vulpix licking his burned rear-end. With a frown, Natalia tilted her head at the Vulpix and bent down. She used one of her FULL HEALs on the Vulpix. "I'm sorry... I got overzealous." She explained to the Vulpix. "I'm sure they're trying to hunt Pokemon like you down to extinction in here." With a deep breath, she took a seat and Lucifer sat beside her, watching as his Ranger played Nurse Joy to the Vulpix. He couldn't have cared less one way or the other. He'd burn the Vulpix if asked, but it seemed Natalia favored it, so he'd play nice... so long as the Vulpix didn't pull a fast one.[break][break]
The Vulpix winced at Natalia's movements, completely taken aback by her ... healing his burn. Wasn't she supposed to be beating him to death to capture him? Wasn't he supposed to be used to fight against other Pokemon? Was she... was she actually asking? Oh, but didn't this mean he owed her? The confusion of the situation simply made the Vulpix crawl into Natalia's lap and give her chin a lick of gratitude.[break][break]
Natalia smiled as the Vulpix curled up on her, unable to stop herself. His cold body was a rather chill contrast compared to her Houndours and even Poochyena. "You're very different than what I'm used to working with." Natalia moved her hand over the Vulpix' coat, slowly, softly. "But you're absolutely stunning, and I know you can become strong." She moved to give the Vulpix' chest a good scratch. "What do you think? Want to come along and join our pack?" She wasn't even joking because they were definitely a pack.[break][break]
Before waiting for his answer, she took out a Safariball and used it on the Vulpix, watching as the ball fell into her lap and began shaking. Only time would tell, now.[break][break]

Natalia watched as the ball clicked shut. Without hesitation, she reached to grip her Houndour, Lucifer, up into a beautifully painful hug. “We did it! We did it!!” Her hands gripped the Safariball and she gave it a kiss. “You won’t be disappointed, I promise little guy.” With a giddy grin, Natalia moved to give Lucifer a kiss as well, leaning away from him to stand up and head toward the route again. She was still in awe that she’d caught the one Pokemon she was looking for. Unbelievable. What luck![break][break]
Lucifer, on the other hand, was looking a bit mortified. With a disgruntled huff, he shook his body free of whatever tingling feeling Natalia’s clingy outburst had left on him. Lucifer was still getting used to being apart of this little pack of strange misfits. Natalia showed more affection than his entire last pack put together, so it was odd for the dual type to feel so proud when he did things and she congratulated him in such simple ways. Well, simple to her. Colossal to him.[break][break]
As they walked, Natalia caught sight of a Karrablast in the path. The strange little beetle was having trouble getting up someplace. So, Natalia motioned for Lucifer to go over. “Help him out, hm? He looks a little stuck.”[break][break]
Yet something else he was getting used to, taking orders to help instead of attack, kill, or destroy. With a puff of his nose, he nudged the little Karrablast over the mound of rocks it was trying to get over. It came back to the Houndour with a small bug of a rant before waddling back into its home. Lucifer huffed and turned, kicking dirt into the rocks.[break][break]
Natalia laughed, patting her hip to get the Houndour back to her side. “Come on,” she beckoned. “Let’s get these two to the center as quick as possible.”[break][break]

As Natalia and Houndour made their way down the trail toward the exit, they had stopped for a moment just to get a drink of water in one of the nearby ponds. As Natalia bent down to take a drink, her hand brushed against some seaweed. She frowned and moved her hands away from it, motioning toward the spot for her pup's sake. "Careful, there's something slimy there." She warned, but he was already sticking his muzzle into the water and lapping it up with his tongue.[break][break]
"Or don't," she laughed out, leaning back. "Your call." She teased her Pokemon as he drank beside her.[break][break]
As his tongue touched the slimy bits, Lucifer made a face and then snorted into the water. After leaning his head up out of the water, he was suddenly struck with a BUBBLE attack.[break][break]
"Oh dear." Natalia's tone was warm even as she realized what she'd feared. "I think we've found a Skrelp, Lucifer."[break][break]
Why was she so calm!? That was all Lucifer could think, snorting in a few higher pitches than he'd intended because those bubbles really hurt! How he still wasn't sure. He didn't invent the mechanics of Pokemon battle, but he, sure enough, had a few questions about it.[break][break]
The Skrelp beneath the surface of the water peered at the Houndour and the blonde woman it had attacked. She'd lost her Dhelmise a while back and she'd been terribly lonely ever since. It led to her usually just floating about in the water and hoping that nothing ate her. If something tried, she bubbled it away. Much like the pup! But the trainer didn't seem to catch the hint. Skrelp eyed the trainer for a moment before puffing out a SMOKESCREEN from the water, but it just made the entire pond black and now she couldn't see. As a matter of fact, the smoke from the smokescreen was clogging the oxygen in the water and making it hard to breathe, causing the poor thing to cough and writhe in the water.[break][break]
Natalia watched the small panic attack the Skrelp had and frowned. "Silly thing." Reaching her hand in, she pulled the little Skrelp up and out of the water enough so that it could breathe. "You probably should have stuck your little mouth out of the water before you sprayed that, silly." She told the Skrelp before smiling.[break][break]
While Natalia tried to befriend the Skrelp, Lucifer shook his now wet fur and groaned while rolling around on the ground. Once not wet, he took a seat beside Natalia and started to lick himself in various places where there was more water than he would have liked on his coat.[break][break]
Skrelp didn't know how to take what she was witnessing. This woman had helped her, even after she'd spat at the pup and tried to blind them both, though she'd ended up only blinding herself. Still, she could have attacked the woman even more. Yet the woman was helping her out... how very interesting... But, now that she had a fresh breath, she blew more bubbles but this time at the blonde.[break][break]
With a yelp, Natalia moved backward, barely managing to hold onto the Skrelp. Though the Skrelp had landed on the shore of the water.[break][break]
Natalia's yelp had Lucifer sitting up and spitting an EMBER at the Skrelp. It didn't do anything but dry the thing out, which was more uncomfortable than it was anything else. The Skrelp came back with another BUBBLE attack, which Lucifer dodged by fading from sight and then hitting the Skrelp further away from the pond with a FEINT ATTACK. The thing was at it again! A puff of SMOKESCREEN came from the Skrelp, but Lucifer managed another FEINT ATTACK. Their bodies came out of the puff of smoke enough that Natalia could throw her last Safariball at the Skrelp.[break][break]
Lucifer turned to look at her trainer like she'd grown a second head. She wanted the damned thing!?[break][break]
"Managed to piss you off, didn't it? Imagine her on our team! We could use her spunk for the greater good!" Natalia argued, waving the smokescreen out of her face and looking toward the wobbling safariball.[break][break]

Congrats! A Safari attendant comes out of nowhere as soon as the Safari Ball made its last click, indicating a successful capture of the Skrelp. Natalia is given enough time to collect her Pokemon before she gets escorted out of the facility.
