After an incredibly embarrassing text message conversation in which she mistook a complete stranger for her dad because she put in the wrong number, Roan wanted to get to the outskirts of town and see what sorts of Pokemon she and Knuckles could get ahold of for a battle. After all, why have Pokemon as a Trainer if you're not going to battle them, right? Exactly.[break]
But for the moment, she just wanted to explore Yoshino as much as she could. The city was new to her. She couldn't help but want to know more about it before moving on. Before she went to route 29 for a second time, anyway. The first time wasn't so bad, but she'd like to get to know Knuckles a bit more. Speaking of which...[break]
The little chimp was on her shoulder, just braiding her hair. It calmed him. She didn't mind it, as a matter of fact, she always looked fantastic with random braids through her ginger hair. She made her way into a store and started to walk around. After she was done in there, she made her way out and into town a bit more. She stopped at a few of the corner places, before going into the coffee shop. After ordering, she found herself on the outskirts of the town near the exit just walking. She glanced at the exit to the route, then to Knuckles, then back to the exit.[break][break]
"If I keep staring, you think it'll do a trick?" Tic off mom joke for the day, time to work on getting out a dad joke. She moved her eyes to the various human beings and their Pokemon that were coming through the entrance to the city, or exit to the route from her perspective. With a sigh, she shifted her weight.[break]
"Maybe... we should walk out, hm? I kinda want to see more of the city. Think we can find a tour guide?" She glanced around before lifting a curious brow, which got her hair tugged so she'd stay still.[break][break]
"Sorry, sorry." Now she was turning her whole body to look for a tour guide, making small half circles so she didn't ruin whatever 'masterpiece' was happening on her head.[break][break]

Today’s attempt in seeing her talent was one of just walking around. Yes, instead of pushing his Pokemon he would just walk with her, let her see various places, have her own grand time with what she wanted. Though, given that she was a particularly interesting Pokemon for such a city he kept close to ensure she went undisturbed.[break][break]
The duo walked almost all over the city but instead of stopping to see anything interesting Maryland just walked on her own quiet, to herself and unbothered by the people they passed. For a moment it felt like they were walking in complete silence, but alas he wouldn’t speak he just wanted to see her operate on her own for a bit. [break][break]
Near the city limits Ken was finally ready to speak but just as the words came to his lips his Pokemon turned a corner and vanished from his sight. Not wanting to lose sight of her he peeked over the corner to see his Pokemon staring at a duo, a chimchar and trainer. [break][break]
Maryland didn’t say a word, instead of speaking she merely stared at the as if she was assessing what they were doing. She took note of the hair braiding and brought her hands to her own green strands as if she wanted to mimic the Chimchar’s actions or perhaps get it to do hers as well. Could this have been the break through Ken was looking for? Well if it was he’d ruin it.[break][break]
With a loud “Yo! Maryland you just can’t leave me like that!” his bellowing voice made the dual-type Pokemon flinch before swiftly lowering her hand back to her side and walking on. [break][break]
“Hey! Ugh...Why won’t she listen...” he mumbled before looking at the red head and her hair braiding chimp.[break][break]
“Oh uh, hello there.” he wasted no time in waiting for introductions and extended a hand to the two “Ken Easly!” one she clasped his hand he’d give her a firm shake. [break][break]
“Hey uh, did that Gardevoir say anything to you two by chance?” he asked them whilst he watched his Pokemon pause her back still turned by eyes fixated on nothing in particular. Sometimes, while one is just sort of walking around minding one's own business and debating on looking for wild Pokemon on the outskirts of a town, one apparently finds a fucking Gardevoir. Roan could barely believe her eyes, because honestly, how gorgeous was the thing? She gave it a small smile before somebody yelled and startled the thing away. Roan habitually flinched away from the noise, and the Pokemon, before the culprit of the noise got closer.[break][break]
Something like passive-aggressive anger turned very aggressive-aggressive angry and before she knew it, Roan was punching the sack of muscles right in the shoulder.[break][break]
"You big dumb blonde! Think it might have anything to do with you creeping up and yelling at her?!" Quickly, Roan moved her hand over her face like she'd offended somebody, possibly the blonde? "Or, or is it him? Damn, I can never tell. If they have a skirt, I just think, you know, girl. But that's not always the case." She pointed by the end of her small ramble, clearly worried about having offended the Gardevoir that was avoiding the blonde... why was it avoiding the blonde but not completely running away.[break][break]
Light bulb. Blonde equals trainer.[break][break]
"U-Uhm." Roan was suddenly standing up very straight and letting out a small laugh. "N-No, she didn't, um, say anything. I think she was looking at my hair? I'm not completely sure. You scared her away before I got the chance to ask her." It was decided, however, that the Gardevoir was female and Roan was happy for it.

It appeared he was trying to process everything she just said but his brain was struggling to comprehend it. 'did she just hit him?' yes, she certainly did and not only did she hit him she got on his case for surprising his Pokemon. [break][break]
"Oh... Well then" he straightened up and looked between the girl and Gardevoir. The look on his face read as one of deep analysis as he tried to bring a solution to a problem that wasn't there. [break][break]
While the redhead did apologize the bulky blonde didn't quite catch it as he finally snapped out of his deep thoughts, "Say, if show me what you two were doing while she was staring at you... Please?" he still kept an eye on his Gardevoir, but the Pokemon didn't budge. Instead of moving along Maryland stood frozen her only movement bringing a hand up to her green locks and gently twirling them between her fingers as she tried to mimic what she had seen the Chimchar doing. [break][break]
Ken crossed his arms and now hovered over Roan and her Pokemon as he waited to see what had been done to get her interest. No matter what it was he'd try to do it with his Pokemon that or asks the girl to do it again just long enough for him to see his Fairy-Type actually enjoy itself.
Fingers crossed she shows him...
