Iris Blast from the past Female | Iris is a young woman from the Kanto region who has ties to Ken in the fact that she is formerly (one may say currently) his fiance. Growing up in Kanto the two had been together since preschool and hadn’t been apart all the way up to high school. Over the course of their childhood the two were fighters, Iris being an exceptional technician with Mixed Martial Arts prowess and some Judo practices that she often practiced on her big blond lug from time to time which eventually caused him to learn a bit more than he should about martial arts. While Ken was fascinated with become a professional baseball player, Iris was still deciding what she wanted to do with her life rather it be becoming a ranger, a member of the Pokemon league or famous coordinator, her ambitions even stemmed to champion of another region they were so high. As a means of celebration for the graduating duo Ken’s family decided to take the duo on one of Kanto’s famous cruise liners the S.S. Mary as reward for graduating. The cruise slated to take off for neighboring Johto for two to three nights before returning to Kanto. Still, being a trainer and wanting to keep sharp Iris had pulled her best friend along to battle on the deck of the ship and for the most part they dominated in double battles with any crew or fellow cruise goer they could. Before they knew it they were a day’s sail from Johto and this is when their story takes an odd turn. The skies had become black, the boat entered rough, gray waters and lightning pierced the sky. It was late at night, the ship keeping on course despite the rough conditions. Ken, being one for heroics tried to help the crew secure the ship for the worst getting things stored away and making sure passengers were in their rooms before the storm got any worst. As for Iris she kept with her family, the ship rocked and wave after wave of harsh waters hit the ship with Ken still on board. The storm worsened, he still didn’t come to check on them and this made her worry and eventually she set out to find him despite the pleas from her parents. When she made it out of the room the boat was dark and eerie the smell of the harsh sea filled the air as she head to the deck where they had been battling, only light to guide her the dim overhead lights of the ship’s flooring and the one spot light at the top guiding crewmen and illuminating their path. The rain poured hard, the waves were massive it seemed the ship was due to crash at any moment. She called his name and on the third call got an answer. Ken was there and the two would go on to argue about why she came looking for him in such harsh conditions. In a move in line with her neurotic personality she shoved him harder than she should have and he lost his footing, ending up hurling over a guard rail after their argument spilled to the edge of the boat’s deck. He held on, she called after him and reached to help him up. His grip was slipping quickly he reached up for her their finger tips just barely touched and WHOOM a wave came clear from the side and swept him off to sea leaving her alone. She cried out to him, looked for him but the darkness had submerged his form and he was gone before her very eyes the last memory being him looking up at her with his goofy smile at the worst possible time before being taken under the blimey deep. It was chaos, she frantically tried to get someone to stop the boat but no one listened she plead and plead but the ships’ crew could do nothing for her but scan the water as the boat tried to chart the storm. Hours went by and there was no sign of him. Her best friend was gone and she was far too angry to be stricken with grief. She blamed herself and when the boat finally arrived in Johto she remained in her room blaming herself for it all. While Ken’s family didn’t hold any ill will towards her she expected them to hate her. She never got to tell him anything she felt (if she felt something, totally up to you.) and had to live with this lost. When the ship made its way back to Kanto it had been decided he would be declared missing instead of dead as his parents held the selfish hope their little boy was alive. This was where Iris began her mission: Bring him home, thus her journey around Kanto began or more so her journey to Johto in hopes of finding him. Alrighty, that’s most of the backstory between them, I want to leave personality up to whoever takes this but one thing that is preferred is that she does have some of a mean streak and can be quite hot headed which led to her pushing him off the boat. Keep in mind her character is entirely up to you and while there is an example FC you’re free to change it. The basis is she wants to find him, but you can have her also take part in being a Pokemon master or whatever you may want since she is still deciding what she wants to do in life. If there are any other questions plz DM me on site or on discord. Also you're gonna knock him on the noggin real good. FC is up to you, name can be changed. mostly just looking for the basics of the char: can be pretty angry, fighter sub class. Mission can be to take him home or beat the crap out of him for being alive all this time. |
