Alrighty, I've been thinking on some ideas for Breeders on site and this is just a suggestion for them and other classes.
I'm thinking we make a sub-board that could act as 'ranch lands' where breeders can set up threads as ranches and folks can go to them asking for Pokemon to be bred.
Ah yes, fighters, the badass of the Pokemon world. I feel as if they should be the types to get 'tougher pokemon' but also be able to tough their Pokemon through much more explosive means. Fighters could get the ability to train their Pokemon independently of battles with wild Pokemon via training threads. In a training thread, the rule generally is that the Pokemon is eligible to receive 1-5 levels based on the length of the thread. For instance, if someone trains their Pokemon for 200 words they get 1 level, 400 2, 600 3 and so on and this can be done once a week. To ensure that progression is steady if a fighter partakes in this method of training they are only allowed to do duo wilds and lose their solo for that week.
Also, Fighters are pretty tough thus they are much tougher than trainers and can hold their own against some Pokemon excluding fully evolved Pokemon and those on their level. For instance, a Fighter could withstand a hit from the likes of a mankey but a primeape would decimate them, not to say they couldn't dodge if fast enough but typically the Pokemon will be much faster.
Fighters also are more likely to find held items in the wild IE: Macho Brace, Black Belt etc.
Coordinators. This class is one that is centered around partaking in competition thus I suggest a perk that allows them to have access to flashier moves for their Pokemon at a reduced price, for instance, using the move tutor may require them to win one contest, TMs are half off and other means to obtain moves for their Pokemon are much cheaper compared to other classes.
This said, if someone is to go, coordinator, they cannot participate in Gyms. Another perk for them would be them primming their Pokemon to be in prime condition; with this Coordinators have the chance to do something similar to fighters, but instead of receiving a bounty of levels their Pokemon can learn any moves in their leveling up pool as well as special moves. The number of moves learned/replaced is dependent on how much the coordinator writes if they do say 200 words they get one move and for every additional 200, they learn more till they are happy with what they have.
Professors are the scholars of the Pokemon world and with this knowledge, they are more likely to find 'rare' Pokemon inside of their specific specialization faster than other classes. If the professor does not have a specialization they need not worry as they still have the ability to find the likes of starter Pokemon in the wild on a more frequent basis. They also have their own 'labs' in which trainers can come and obtain any Pokemon they may want to give at the price of a trade. With these two things, Professors are less likely to have weak growth rates as they are more meant for research and assisting trainers than battling meaning their Pokemon grow at a leveling rate of +1 per battle.
Fishermen possibly one of the oddest classes in the game get a perk that allows them to be more inept in dealing with water Pokemon. Instead of battling fishermen can 'reel in' a water Pokemon in their threads meaning the length of the words they have to write to catch the Pokemon is halved. On top of this, they are also likely to fish up rare items such as stones and evolutionary items.
Still, Fishermen are only proficient with water Pokemon meaning any other Pokemon they obtain will have an extremely weak rate of growth at 1+ levels while their water Pokemon grow at a rate of +3 per battle.
Mediums, these are people with unique skills exclusive to them. They have the abilities of telekenisis, the ability to move simple items like pencils, Pokeballs, and other small items and with every tier get stronger. For instance, an Ace would be able to lift a small Pokemon. That said, with this ability they cannot use it during battle as they attach to their Pokemon on a 'wavelength' of sorts.
They also obtain the ability of telepathy that also cannot be used in battle against anything but their Pokemon. While this does sound strong they can only maintain the link to one Pokemon of their choice as this is the pokemon they are 'bound to' by fate. While they have this they CANNOT speak to Pokemon as they would not understand what they are saying but CAN better read their emotions.
Ranger, these guys are almost as tough as fighters and can withstand almost any condition.
From the start of training their receive a partner Pokemon who they have an incredibly strong bond with. Because of this bond, a ranger's starter Pokemon grows at a rate at a whopping 5+ levels per battle in all battles. While this may seem extreme this growth is only exclusive to their starter Pokemon meaning it will very well will out level any other Pokemon they own.
Rangers also may don their uniform of a beret, jacket, pants, and boots this uniform is resistant to a multitude of weather conditions and can withstand attacks from Pokemon similar to how fighters do. This uniform can only withstand so many attacks and will eventually wear down. Rangers also receive a rope strong enough to lasso the likes of Tauros.
The biggest part of their kit is their stylist a tool in which a ranger can obtain the help of any Pokemon they come across and depending on its level they can use it as their own for the duration of their thread. The number of 'whirling motions' the stylist undergoes relies on the Pokemon's level, for instance, a level 60 Dragonite requires 600 words to catch, where a level 10 machop only requires 100 words anything below ten be captures in little more than a sentence.
Trainers, these are the prospective Pokemon Masters of Victory meaning that their goal is likely to capture a lot of Pokemon. Because of this, they are given a half off discount on all Pokeballs to assist them in their journey to become Pokemon master. Ontop of this they are allowed to also catch Pokemon outside of fishing at a lesser rate than most only needing 150 words to capture a Pokemon as long as it is twenty levels within their current Pokemon's level. That said if they attempt to capture a Pokemon far stronger than they can they will fail every time.
Trainers are basically 'normal' mode they obtain typical spawns and even more typical growth rates. Gotta catch 'em all.
Virus- I don't think they should get anything since they already have gear and can pick any starter.
also, I'd like to add Pokemon to the starter list just an additional five per class with the introduction of gen 5
Fighters: Timbnurr, Roggenrola, Sawk, Throh, Dwebble
Medium: Woobat, Gothita, Solosis, Litwick, Yamask
FIshermen: Tympole, Frillish, Tynamo, Basculin, Panpour
Ranger: Lillipup, Pidove, Emolga, Pansage, Blitzle
Trainer: Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Munna, Pansear
I'm thinking we make a sub-board that could act as 'ranch lands' where breeders can set up threads as ranches and folks can go to them asking for Pokemon to be bred.
Now, the person looking to have their egg bred firstly has to tell the breeder how many eggs they want before anything else and with this, for every egg, they ask for they have to way an additional ten days. For instance, one egg is ten, two is twenty and so on and so forth. Of course, they can take their Pokemon out with any eggs they have but in the case that their Pokemon has yet to produce one they get nothing.
To go in hand with this multiple egg arrangement the breeder is paid 500PD per egg thus those who want multiple eggs but pull out early run the risks of losing money but the breeder doesn't have to waste their time.
Also, when a Pokemon is given to the breeder it is not longer on the trainer's active roster but instead 'on the ranch' so to say meaning it cannot be used for threads of any kind until it is reobtained. This is another risk of choosing to have Pokemon bred, they will be inactive for the period in which eggs are wanted.
With all of this Breeders maintain the perk to determine the hatched Pokemon's ability and egg move meaning they get that much control before giving it to the person they are breeding for. These things can be discussed though.
Also to balance out I'm thinking breeder's Pokemon develop slower with 1 lvl Per trainer/wild pokemon beat but retain the ability to be the only ones to breed. Next up... Fighters.
