It wasn't very often that Vivian was unprepared, or caught 'slacking'. Why? Because usually she was the exact opposite. Typically because it was her 'personal' job to piss people off taunt people who weren't, perhaps berate them for having the mindset of a 'magikarp turned into a trainer'. But, today...today had been different. The girl swore she had packed a bag full of things she'd need for the day full of training, like she had planned. Some bandages, a repel or two, a couple of weights, some water...and food. Lots, and lots of food. Really, you'd be surprise at just how much she could scarf down - but, that wasn't the point!
The point was that, after trekking through the mountainous place all afternoon with the intention of doing some endurance training for both herself and her pokemon - she was tired. Horribly, horribly tired. Barbatos was beginning to try to eat rocks, and Astaroth was starting to cry - tell tale signs that a break was needed. And though, of course, Vivian rolled her eyes and called them pansies, she was about at her limit as well.
She placed her bag down and turned away for one second.
And when she turned back around, a group of damn rattata were rummaging through her things, stealing her food - in fact, she swore she saw one take off with the extra bra she always carried for whatever reason! To others, her two pokemon might've been seen as 'fearsome' - cranidos especially. Funny thing though, turns out the sight of tiny purple rats was enough to frighten her usually destructive battering ram of a pokemon into hiding behind a cluster of rocks. And Astaroth was...usually useless to begin with, so, that was out of the question.
This whole...'debacle' occurred around thirty minutes ago.
So, man was she hangry.
She had a few scratches on her arms because, apparently, rattata in this arceus forsaken mountain had balls of steel so even her usual 'super scary glare' wasn't enough to scare them away. Being too hungry to really even move at this moment was just the icing on the cake too!
"Ugh..." The young adult groaned miserably as her stomach gave a loud rumble, followed by two even louder grumbles from her pokemon who were collapsed nearby. "Barbatos, stop eating rocks idiot, if you choke, I'm not helping you," even her usual insults or snippy words lacked their fieriness. Vivian could only let out yet another sigh as she pressed her back against the cool cavern walls of the massive labyrinth they were in. | TAGGED @open NOTES #willeatforfood ---

[attr="class","sintop"] [attr="class","sinmain"] [attr="class","sinlyric"]undecided [attr="class","sinlyric2"]but optimistic [attr="class","sin"] [attr="class","sinbody"]Alceides had always been nagged by his parents to always super prepare before any trip, because you never knew what could happen and blah, blah, blah. Because they wouldn't stop bothering him about it, even as he left his home, he made sure to shore up on supplies if only to assuage their fears and get some peace. Attempting his first mountain expedition, he was well armed to the teeth and ready for anything! Normally the one who was going to assist the boy was his purple Aipom, Momo, currently atop his shoulder giggling. However, in loving glory of its recent capture, the one who was really the star was the pink, rotund, incredibly lazy and aptly named Slothy the Slowpoke.
Thanks to this, well, reckless decision their progress had been inhibited by the incredibly low walking speed of the temporary leader in Slothy. Though, to be fair, this Pokemon had normally found it too troubling to even walk by itself! So to have it casually trodding along was actually quite a shock. Inside of the cavern, he resumed a casual pace uninhibited in the dark, likely due to his time within the Yadon Well. Yawning, it seemed as if something had caught the attention of Momo who had been rather silent who had begun squeaking and screeching in excitement.
"Huh? What is it, Momo? Huh? Hey!" he began to yell at the Aipom, as she detached the satchel full of his provisions and taken off with the goods tucked in her tail.
He didn't realize it at the time, but Momo had a much better hearing and had heard the crying of Pokemon in the distance. Despite her rather impetuous nature, she was kind at heart. Chasing after her, chiding Slothy to hurry up with them he decided that the Slowpoke would probably follow his own pace.
Chasing after her, mostly alone, the sounds of roaring echoed to him creeping the boy out casing his gait to slow. Creeping as the roars intensified, it seemed as if whatever was creating the atrocious noises was around the next bend. Gulping deeply and building up whatever courage he could, he leaped out to save his Momo from whatever was assaulting her!
"I'll save you Momo!" he bravely declared, jumping forth from behind the rocks only to pause at the scene in front of him.
Instead of some huge beast, it seemed as if the roars he had heard were erupting forth from the bellies of the three in front of him. Having arrived before him, it seemed Momo had offered up his provisions to the hungry trio. Taking in everything, the boy burst out into a fit of giggles as Slothy casually walked up behind them. Yawning with an introduction, causing Momo to giggle in delight as well, Alceides managed to calm down and address the woman who was leaning against the rocks.
"Well, she already offered it up so might as well dig in!" he declared, before crouching down and extending his hand.
"The name's Alceides! Hold the 'S'. That Aipom is Momo, and this Slowpoke is Slothy! Pleased to meet you all," the hopelessly optimistic boy introduced himself, wondering what kind of person he had just met.

clever as the devil but twice as pretty ____________________
Irritation growing by the minute as she felt her stomach twisting and turning with hunger, the idea of hunting down those damn purple rats to beat the shit out of them for stealing her crap was becoming more and more appealing by the second. She was torn from her vicious thoughts of revenge by a soft growl coming from the throat of Barbatos, who was drooling now from where he sat, his red eyes boring into the darkness. The slightest hint of purple moving about in the distance made the girl stiffen. "So, you bastards are back for round two?" She spoke quietly, voice tight with restrained fury as she felt her eye twitch.
But, what crept out in front of her wasn't her newest enemy - it was...an aipom? What was a pokemon like this doing in a cave of all places? Last time she checked, they didn't hang out in places like this. That could only mean it was a trainer's pokemon then, right? Asta perked up, staring at the aipom curiously and with a tilted head, while Barbatos continued to drool, probably considering his options in making a meal out of the pokemon. To the trio's surprise, the pokemon soon offered them...food? A couple of snack bars and some apples - was the pokemon giving this to them?
The larvitar cheered happily, body partially wriggling in happiness as he wasted little time in moving forward, grabbing an apple in his hands. Barbatos followed behind him, warily staring at the aipom before taking a bar for himself and eating it - wrapper and all. Vivian though only huffed, looking away. The hell did she look like, taking food from random pokemon? Of course, her stomach gave a loud rumble of protest, much to her dismay.
The usually composed girl actually jumped when someone else had arrived - not a pokemon this time around, but, a human, with a slowpoke by his side. Likely, he was the aipom's trainer....and he was laughing. At her. Seething, the girl gave him a scathing glance, "the fuck are you laughing at?" She scoffed, as foul tempered as ever, and possibly even more so due to her hunger. But, there was no way she was going to accept someone else's help - that wasn't the way she handled things.
She briefly stared down at the boy's outstretched hand before letting out another scoff and turning her head away, "Is there something you want?" She sharply asked, not even bothering with introductions. "You don't really look like the strong type - did you accidentally wander in here?" And there it was - her infamous, assholeish smirk and that taunting voice just begging to piss someone off.
Her pokemon didn't seem to share her iciness, as they happily munched on the gifted food. Hell, her larvitar even lifted a small arm to give the other trainer and his pokemon a friendly little wave - only to use it to push Barbatos' head away as the cranidos greedily began to try and snatch away the apple he was eating.

[attr="class","sintop"] [attr="class","sinmain"] [attr="class","sinlyric"]decided [attr="class","sinlyric2"]and optimistic [attr="class","sin"] [attr="class","sinbody"]When he arrived at the scene, incorrectly guessing that some monstrous Pokemon was preying on his partner, he was delighted to see that she was safe. Surrounded by the trio, it seemed the woman wanted nothing to do with him to begin with, delivering an icy comment just from his bit of giggles. Blinking at her, twice, he looked down, grinning, and pointed to the Cranidos.
"Well, he just coughed up a wrapper," he stated, reaching forward and biting into an apple, before offering one to Slowpoke. Eating the one in his hand, including his own hand, he was going to attempt to lift him but it was too heavy to budge.
Sighing, and resolving himself to the situation, he allowed Slothy to consume the apple in such a manner so long as he didn't start biting into his arm.
"You could've just asked Momo, I would've shared," he playfully stuck his tongue out at his Aipom who giggled and began to work on a bar herself.
Refusing to take his hand, or apparently his food as she was the only one whose stomach continued to rumble while they all consumed the food greedily, he could only smile as she asked if he wandered in.
"Well, it was actually Slothy's idea. Then Momo took off with my stuff, and here we are!" he explained cheerily, waving at the timid Larvitar that had done the same before having to fend off the Cranidos who dove in for a bite. Tossing another apple that way, he hoped to end their quarrel.
"There's enough to go around, for you too," he held out a bar with his free hand, still smiling despite the way she spoke to him. Even though she called him weak, it was obvious that she was just a very gruff person. Sometimes he got a headache when he was hungry, too, so maybe that's what was ailing her?
"Something I want, well, my bag and my pokemon would be the main things. But since we're all here, why not have a mini-cavern picnic!"

"....Shut up," Vivian grumbled, slightly embarrassed, as she watched from the corner of her eye her 'not so bright' cranidos prodding at the wrapper he just coughed up. With that though, she fell quiet - likely brooding, from where she continued to lean against the wall with her arms crossed. There was no way in hell she was accepting any from ball of sunshine over there. He was one of those types that as soon as she showed him an inch of kindness...he'd think that they were friends or something. 'Tch, as if I'd want to associate myself with people like him,' the girl grouchily thought to herself.
The loud, obviously pleased sounds of her pokemon enjoying their meal made her even more foul tempered. Didn't they have a damn sense of pride? Accepting gifts from strangers like this...it was insulting! The boy's story of how he otherwise ended up here made her only let out a gruff, 'hn', as she continued to look away, eyes closed slightly and a scowl still on her lips.
"A mini...picnic?...Why the hell would I ever want to-" She breathed in sharply. "Aren't you the littlest bit concerned? I could be a villain. I could steal your crap right now - I could beat you within an inch of your life." She questioned him with a raised brow. She was...slightly hoping to scare him off, if anything. She was beginning to fear that his optimism would be like a disease to her and suck up whatever energy she had left. She couldn't stand innocent types like these - how the hell did they function in a world like this?
...Or, were they those lucky, spoiled brats who never had to worry about getting taking advantage of? She nearly wanted to scoff and roll her eyes even harder, if possible.
Asta perked up another apple was thrown to them which was, thankfully, snapped up by Barbatos so he could leave him alone. The feral-like dinosaur pokemon went to munching on the apple in the corner, greedily stuffing his face before looking at the other two newcomer pokemon in keen interest. He stepped closer towards the slowpoke, prodding at him several times with a clawed hand, head tilting in curiosity.
Asta, on the other hand, was more concerned about his trainer. She was the type that'd rather bleed out then let someone help her - and starving to death was no different. And so, he took the bar from Alceides with a little rumble, likely thanking him, before going on over to Vivian.
"Lar!" He held out the bar to her, eyes beaming in utter cuteness to try and convince her to eat....
It was only successful in getting her to give him a rather scary scowl back, a hand moving forward to push the larivtar back with a prod to the forehead. "Buzz off, I said no." She snapped slightly. She'd rather pull whatever food remained from those damned rattata's jaws than sink to the level of her pokemon and accept a 'hand me down' from someone else!

[attr="class","sintop"] [attr="class","sinmain"] [attr="class","sinlyric"]decided [attr="class","sinlyric2"]and optimistic [attr="class","sin"] [attr="class","sinbody"]The weak retort she gave revealed her embarrassment at the situation, as they looked at the Pokemon he had mentioned. Finally able to dislodge Slothy by enticing him with another apple, he sighed in relief. Momo hopped into his lap and three continued to munch happily on the food. He almost found himself laughing because of her expression, but he decided, based on her earlier outburst, that any sort of chuckle would be discerned as an immediate threat. But that didn't stop the boy from grinning like crazy, his usual stupid, toothy grin. She didn't accept anything, so he opted to stretch the opening as far as it would go so that she could simply reach in if she decided.
When she inquired about his worries, he paused and looked at her confused. Swallowing what he had been chewing, he turned and grinned at the Larvitar. There was a certain atmosphere around the three that seemed serene, it was clear that the two trusted and liked her. As someone who was raised as a ranger, he had been taught to sense that sort of thing though he never actually attempted to, it just happened accidentally.
"A trainer's pokemon say a lot about them, and they seem to like you," he answered, smiling at the woman most likely to her ire.
He had a naive sense of faith in people, always attempting to believe the best in them. Combined with the fact that her Pokemon weren't cowering in a corner or anything, he initially thought that she simply had to be a good person. This notion was bolstered when the adorable little Larvitar trodded over to his owner and offered her food to quell her own hunger. It was such an adorable moment, even Alceides felt his heart warm!
Until his trainer reacted, physically pushing it and telling it to go away. His eyes grew darker, immediately speaking up in anger.
"There was no need to do that, it was just worried about you. If you wanted it to go away, you could stop being so friggin obstinate and eat, it might calm the attitude down too," his voice quivered with obvious indignation at her antics.
Her Pokemon liked her enough to care for her, and yet she treated them so callously? How could she be so cruel to them? How could he have been so wrong? He thought that she was a bit rough around the edges, but she hadn't displayed any hostility until that moment. He opened his mouth to say more, but then bit his lip at the behest of his Aipom who had wrapped her tail around him. She had a much better sense of the situation than he did, but he was too caught up in his emotions.
Slothy, in the meanwhile, moved forward to greet the Cranidos with a long yawn, slowly pushing over an apple as he had apparently sensed a kindred spirit.

Oh, great. He was one of 'those' people. The one who swore a trainer's pokemon could tell them everything about the trainer. The only thing he should've gotten from her pokemon was the idea that she was strong - that she wasn't one to be messed with. And if that was the case, well then, why the hell was he still talking to her? Letting out a 'tch' and rolling her eyes, Vivian decided not to comment - maybe because she didn't want to hurt the boy's feelings any more...Or likely because she felt like it'd be a waste of time. Annoyingly optimistic people like this just didn't know when to quit.
It seemed her otherwise rejecting her larvitar though sparked a surge of anger within the boy - a motion she swore he didn't posses. At his sudden, almost snappish like tone, the girl rose a brow, obviously a bit shocked. But, soon, a sneer came to her lips. Had she managed to piss of 'Mr smiles and sunshine'? Oh man, this was great. Perhaps this day wasn't a total lose? Smirking with a look that could make even an angel blaze with fury, the girl couldn't help but roll her eyes as well.
"I don't think I asked for your help nor opinion, right?" She spoke in an icy manner, glowering at him from where she stood, leaning against the wall still. "What it's doing is its annoying me. So, I told it to go away," she shrugged slightly. Her harsh and cold nature was just...who she was. If her pokemon weren't tough enough to handle it, then, it wasn't any skin off of her back. They'd just have to learn to get over it or something. " 'Sides, the way I treat my pokemon has nothing to do with you really." The words sounded provoking - as though she were some secret villain or something. And okay, maybe she was sorta itching for a fight, or at least to see how much she could piss him off. But, she wasn't a pokemon abuser or some dumb shit like that. Nah, that was just stupid.
Of course, to those that didn't know how she was, it...might've seemed like she was a bit too harsh. That didn't stop her from challenging sneering at the boy with a look full of calm malice.
"You got a problem with that, boy?"
Barbatos perked up from where he'd been messing around with the slowpoke, a clawed hand outstretched and patting on the pink pokemon's head while he nibbled on the apple it'd offer. He tilted his head at his trainer, as though sensing the tension, and looked over at Asta, who frantically looked between the two clashing trainer.

In response to his snarl, the woman raised an eyebrow at him before an ugly sneer danced upon her lips. She wasn't an ugly person, not in the least she was actually quite beautiful, but the way she presented herself warped the image in the boys head. In any case, who would smile in any manner after being accused of something so horrible. Slothy still wasn't paying attention and, if he was, he didn't care about what his trainer was getting into even if he would be called to battle mere moments later. Momo, though normally constantly jovial and laughing, was now curled up around her trainer wrought with anxiety. It wasn't like the boy to get so worked up and he had not yet caused a scene on his journey quite like this. "I don't care, I'm still giving it anyway, you harpy," he shot back once the woman reminded him that she never asked, nor wanted, his opinion in the first place. Hands were balled up tightly at his side, he had been taught not to hit a woman but it was really hard to remember that in between grit teeth and anger. She continued to quip at the boy, leaning against the rock wall her demeanor becoming increasingly cocky. He found himself often intimidated by other guys, so women were easier to talk to. But this woman was different, it was like he was talking to a brick wall. "What it was doing was babysitting someone it felt couldn't handle themselves without it," he finally shouted, after she had reiterated that the Larvitar had annoyed her and that it wasn't even his place to say anything about it. "Yes, I do have a problem with someone so selfish and self-centered that they start dragging their pokemon down 'cause they're less than average!"He wasn't the type to curse, the closest he ever got was friggin, and he had no doubt that he'd probably never curse. But in a verbal battle, he still had his weapons and he would wield them as best as he could. Not normally the battling type, his hands itched toward their Pokeballs but his hands dropped soon after. He enjoyed battling more than anything, he wasn't going to defile it just to entertain her nasty attitude. "I thought I was a kid, but you sure take the cake. Where can you go in life if you can't even accept criticism, at the very least?!" even though he was angry with her, the boy still couldn't help his kind nature spill out as he honestly asked her a question. Alceides was the type who learned from his mistakes, even if they hurt or frustrated him, so he couldn't see why she was being so dang obstinate. Level 16 - Level 12 MADE BY NOVA

Harpy? Now that was a new one. It didn't exactly offend Vivian - actually, she had a somewhat amused smile on her lips. She was so used to hearing nicknames like, 'asshole, bitch, cunt, and everything else, an insult like this was almost cute. It definitely struck a nerve of irritation and an urge to punch this stupidly brave kid's lights out, but...he was creative. Good for him.
She continued to almost otherwise ignore the other trainer, as though his anger and frustrations towards her weren't worth her time. A roll of her eyes here and there, but otherwise, that damned, cocky smirk stayed upon her lips, as though she were trying to piss him off further. Until a specific set of words was enough to crack that cool, careless facade of hers - enough to make her violet gaze rest on the boy in an intense glower.
'Less than average'.
That...yeah, now that dug into her skin, and it was seen in the tinest wince that pierced the girl's typical insouciant demeanor. It was possibly because all of her life, that was what she'd been trying to avoid. She was a street rat who wanted to be a trainer, and now, a trainer who wanted to be more. Less than average? Her? Never - not again. She had worked to get here. And the fact that some fucking kid thought she was just some average, shitty person? Fuck no. She had way too much pride, way too much strength to accept that.
Temper nearly blowing over, the girl took a step forward in a rather threatening manner, violet eyes narrowed as her smirk faltered into a frown. "Less than average? Please. I stand at the top, kid, and if you were smart, you'd realize when to shut the fuck up." Of course, she couldn't resist rubbing her own, slightly damaged, ego as she viciously threatened the male before her, a hand that was once in her pocket now clenching into a fist.
"Accept criticism? 'Cause I don't need stuff like that from shitty trainers like you. People who think the worlds full of fuckin' rainbows and shit...It makes me sick. Whatever 'criticism' you have to offer me would be as worthless as a magikarp." The girl scoffed with a heavy roll of her eyes. What, he wanted to 'help' her? Oh, please. He was lucky she didn't give him a black eye, if anything. Give him a lesson of what happens when weaklings try and play strong.
"With a mindset like yours, you'll always be at the bottom. And when it counts the most, worthless, weak trainers like you will be utterly useless."

For a while, as Alceides bore into her, she sat back with a snide look of satisfaction smeared on her face. Just that look alone, without her personality or words backing it, infuriated him beyond any normal reasoning. He didn't understand what was happening, he got along with everyone. But this woman, this female who didn't care about the well-being of her Pokemon? Using them and pushing them away when they weren't necessary? That was disgusting and he wasn't going to put up with it as long as it was happening in front of him. Finally, it seemed that he had struck a nerve once he mentioned that she was less than average. Apparently, nothing prior to that had registered to the woman as worthwhile responding to. Upon hearing those words, the smile disappeared and was replaced with an angry frown. Having had enough of listening to him idly, she stepped forward in a menacing manner. Honestly, even in all of his rage, he wanted to shrink away from the woman and leave the cave. But he was someone who stuck to his beliefs through both thick and thin, and this was something he was deadset on. He didn't think any pokemon deserved to be mistreated the way he was assuming she was mistreating her own. Matching a position similar to the boy's, hand curled up at her side, the boy refused to back down from her even after her use of an explicative. Did she think cursing made her cool? Made her stronger? It only showed how much of a child she was, he thought it to himself but couldn't resist sucking his teeth in disapproval. "Shitty trainer? You're the one running around on empty, how can you be so self-centered and still forget food for even yourself? Pft, it's better than being some wannabe tough girl ready to fight younger kids, you'll probably stay single forever like that," he chastised her, before becoming silent at the end of her insane tirade. The anger he had displayed until now had solely been based on the assumption that she was insulting him, but when she began to insult his qualifications as a trainer that was when she, intentionally or not, pushed his only button. The fist that had been shaking stopped and his head drooped down for a moment before the warm brown orbs that were his eyes were replaced with hard, chilly ones. He would take every insult aimed at him and counter, or simply run with the blows - he had enough humility not to mind up to a certain point. But she was not going to insult his team, the products of his training. His jaw was set hard, matching his eyes, gazing at the woman with nothing but contempt. "Take it back," was the only thing he muttered, before his Aipom had tapped his back with her tail to snap him out of his daze. Shaking his head, unaware he had been swallowed up by his emotions so deeply, he cleared his throat and addressed the woman more directly, "Regardless of your intentions, abusing your Pokemon isn't okay. If you can't even see that much, then I guess I'll pray for your Pokemon," his speech and smile were both wistful, the prior directed toward Vivian and the latter the Larvitar and Cranidos. Vivian was both appalled, and disappointed, that he hadn't yet backed down. There was a certain joy she got from seeing fear flashing in others eyes that...might've been a bit messed up, sure, but, it was always nice when people realized who they were messing with. Alternatively, when people stepped up to the challenge, it pissed her off, but, it excited her - it made her blood pump with the thrill that an actual fight may happen. Be it a battle, or an actual fist fight - either was good.
An eye twitched slightly as he mentioned her 'forgetting' her food - fucking bullshit. "I didn't forget shit," she snapped - more so due to the brief feeling of embarrassment that flashed through her. Tch, if those stupid purple rats had taken her crap, she wouldn't be wasting time in talking to this moron. His declarations and insults only made that sharp, violet glower of hers grow even sharper. Quickly, that willingness to do violence was being to boil, and was quickly threatening to topple over. She tried to remain cool and collected - but, it just wasn't working. Not anymore. And, honestly, she had no problems with punching a kid - maybe not in his throat like she usually would. But, a quick jab to the mouth wouldn't hurt too badly.
And then, he said those magical words that made that cocky, taunting sneer appear back onto her lips. The sudden spark in his eyes, the tightness of his voice...he was angry. And it filled the brunette with a giddy delight as she lifted a clenched fist, that aggressive look of hers not fading as she continued to glower at him.
"Make me, punk."
There was a slight hope in her words - but, this boy was a goody-two shoes. He had probably never thrown a punch in his life, and she wasn't interested in wasting time fighting his weak, shitty pokemon. Ugh, how annoying. But, still...the idea of making him literally eat his words was all too tempting to pass up.
Before the girl could further egg him on into, hopefully, a confrontation of some kind though, he spoke...and honestly, what he said pissed her off even more, if not shocked her a bit. For a moment, her eyes widened, her raised fist relaxing, and a confused look spreading across her features. Abuse? What...the hell was he talking about? Wait...what?
For a moment, the girl, dumbfounded, stared at him, unsure what to make of his words...until, finally, it made sense. His sudden attitude change, his abrupt 'white knight' shit. He thought she was one of those pathetic fucks who abused their pokemon.
Vivian couldn't help but laugh. An actual, hearty laugh that betrayed the chilling glower she'd been giving him only mere moments before. But, there was no joy in her laugh nor lightheartedness. Oh, no, she was pissed. And as abruptly as the laughter came, it ended. "I should punch your fucking lights out, y'know?" Her voice was tight with anger as she glowered at him. Almost threateningly, she leaned closer, their faces only mere inches apart. "Here's a word of advice kid. Unless you plan on picking your teeth off the ground, don't go around calling people pokemon abusers." She nearly snarled at him before turning away, hands in her pockets as she scoffed loudly.
"Just because I don't baby my pokemon or treat them like fuckin' glass doesn't mean shit. I may be a shitty person - but even that's beneath me." For someone who acted so closed off, the girl almost sounded offended.
Asta tilted his head, looking confused as he looked between the trainers. He had actually waddled between the two at some point, intent on making sure they didn't end up in a fight of some kind. But, even he frowned slightly at the mere mention of his trainer being abusive. Barbatos, on the other hand, seemed to sense his trainer's irritation - and so, he in turn began to almost trot about in an aggravated manner, stopping only in favor of glowering up at the male trainer.

The repeated taunts by the woman had initially, thanks to his easygoing and kind nature, simply bounced off of the boy. Unphased he continued to talk to her as he offered up both his food and company, though the first would've happened regardless thanks to the antics of his Aipom. Alceides had no qualms sharing what he had, but the conversation between the two radically different trainers had declined like a train off of the tracks. This incredibly irritating woman had kept pressing and pressing at the boy, in ways that no one had ever accomplished beforehand. He always tended to see the good in people, and the best of the situation he found himself in. Starting with her disregard of her Larvitar, she managed to slowly chip away at his kindness. The major blow came when she insulted his team, removing any of the kindness that had been lingering in him before she spat forth more venom. It was odd sensation for him, his face growing red as his blood boiled and his body temperature rose. His body shook slightly, demanding that he act. She provoked him once more, requesting him to make her take back what she said and implying by force as he put his head down. He didn't want to act in rage, he wanted to just calm down and find a way to work with the situation - until she provoked him again. He didn't hear the rest of her words, it was just a loud ringing after she made a comment about his teeth on the ground. He didn't care that she was a woman, he didn't care that she was older than him, he just didn't care anymore. Allowing the anger to overtake his body, his curled up fist found itself winding back before flying forward in his attempt to gain some sort of relief for his anger in a snap-judgment. He didn't hear the woman say that she didn't abuse her pokemon, nor anything after that. The only thing ringing within his ears was the demand that she pay for her words. Perhaps it was because it was his first punch, or maybe the distribution of his weight had been off, possibly even his position within the cavern itself. Even as his arm extended he was sure that several things were going to be wrong. The angle which he punched indicated that, if she moved, he would stumble into her - which was the best case. If she retaliated, she would easily send him flying and injure him. Even she ducked and allowed his punch to continue, the tucked in thumb would cause a fracture to the boy and he'd probably crumple on top of her. No matter what happened next, it was going to be memorable for the both of them. Level 16 - Level 12 MADE BY NOVA

He'd gone quiet.
It was almost a bit disappointing, honestly. They always went quiet once she pissed them off enough. But, Vivian couldn't help but sneer in sheer delight - she'd 'won'. It seemed the idiotic little lamb had learned his place - and there was no sweeter reward than witnessing that. "Heh. That's what I thought, bitch." The confident, cocky words left her lips in a sinister delight as the girl began to take her leave, hands in pockets, as though she'd lost interest with a toy that no longer worked. She was about to call to her two pokemon to hurry up and follow her - she didn't want the dweebs ideals to rub off on them...But, something made the woman pause in midstep.
Something didn't feel right.
And then, those keen, 'fighter' instincts of hers went off. She turned - just in time, to where she saw the boy's enclosed fist rushing towards her. It...was a pathetic attempt, honestly. He was slow, too tense, his position was wrong - and what the hell type of punch was he even throwing? She could've moved, yeah. But, why should she? Nah...she had a better idea.
She stood there - and she took the punch the slightly shorter teen had dished out. His fist came in contact with her cheek - but lacked any real forced behind it to do little more than push her head slightly...It more than likely wouldn't really even leave a bruise. Despite this, she looked down at Alceidies from the corners of her eyes with a...mildly terrifying look. A look meant to invoke fear - to show him just how badly he had fucked up...To show just how much stronger she was than him in ever way, shape, and form.
Fist still connected to her cheek, she'd finally give an eerie smirk, that familiar lust of a fight pumping through her veins, a dangerous, violent flash alighting in her eyes. "You got balls." It was a rare compliment from her. "Let me get rid of them for you."
Oh.
A hand would grab his own - the one that'd delivered the punch - before he pulled it back, pulling him into the girl, where her fist would lie in wait - a quick, yet painful jab of a punch being directed to his gut. All the while, her hand that'd grip onto his own would suddenly let go. Instead, her elbow would slam into his back if he should kneel over from the gut punch with quick, followup precision.
"Come on bitch, get up - fight me." A final, single fist would clock back to likely deliver another punch - maybe give him a black eye or something - maybe knock out a tooth.
"I'll even let you get one more free hit. C'mon - c'mon!" Of course, all the while, the female would have an almost excited smirk resting upon her lips, her fist held up as though prepared to deliver more blows should the boy take on her offer. | NOTES remember, you asked for this. vivi is innocent ---

Time seemed to start going much slower while he swung, and most of his attention had been drawn, but briefly, to his two Pokemon and their two reactions to the scene. Surprisingly, Slowpoke had abandoned any notion of camaraderie and trotted to his owner's side and was growling dangerously at the Larvitar. The calm-headed one was Momo, though she had notably gone silent atop his shoulder. Perhaps regretting the series of events that had led up to the exact moment, it was the first time she had actually felt somber. Slowpoke wasn't normally so protective of Alceides', so it was a bit of a vain pleasure to see him getting so riled up. Time resumed and his pitiful fist actually managed to connect despite all of the errors with the way it had been delivered, but the results were definitely not what he was thinking. Alceides had never been in a fight before, truthfully, there had never been a reason to. He wouldn't deny the challenge, some sort of pride or curiosity within him, but he also didn't go out looking for a fight either. Because of this he never got much experience in a battle between humans, instead immersing himself with Pokemon. His weak punch smashed into her cheek and...remained there unmoving. "Are you...a monster?" the boy managed to sputter out. The glare that she gave him afterward was terrifying, but not more than the image of her with his fist scrunched up in her cheek as if it was nothing but a discomfort. That scowl was demonic and froze him into place, the opposite of earlier occurring as time sped by incredibly fast. Yanked forward, he barely felt the hit she delivered due to his adrenaline but the feeling of air leaving his esophagus was something that couldn't be diminished. Doubling over as he gasped for air, a sharp elbow was driven into his back with, perhaps, a bit too much power. Slamming into the rocky ground, he could only grit his teeth as he scrambled to recover his breathing. In spite of the fear he felt within him, and the memory of that disgustingly evil gaze, he couldn't hold back his body and their actions anymore. While she cocked back her fist, his hands reached toward her feet and attempted to drive her to the ground by throwing her off of her balance. Level 16 - Level 12 MADE BY NOVA

Adrenaline pumped through the young woman's blood as she stared down the now injured trainer, teeth bared as a frightening, violent smile playing on her lips. The way that cocky gleam had entered his eyes when his punch landed - the look of loss hope when he realized his stupid mistake, the fighter enjoyed every bit of it.
"Monster? No..I think I'd prefer a devil." Seeing him fall to the ground after only a few pitiful taps...This wasn't even a warm-up! Fist cocked back, she tsked, seeming highly disappointed. However, and much to her surprise, it seemed the boy had a bit more fight left in him.
A small grunt came from her lips as she was partially yanked to the ground with Alceides settled somewhat on top of her. The rough, rocky terrain on the floor doing more damage to her back than his own punch ever would. "You little shit-"
Her leg would bend, her knee bashing forward and into the boy's gut as much as he'd allow her to, each attack stronger than the last. She could've seriously injured him if she wanted to - and she definitely planned to if the dumbass didn't get off of her. If he wanted to fight so bad, then fine, she'd give him one. "C'mon, show me some blood - you think you're tough shit, right?!" | NOTES coming through with the references, i love it ---
