This thread is designed as a quick, one-stop shop destination for any questions you may have that, well, you can't seem to find in our rules. This is not designed to be all encompassing, but rather just a lot of common questions we've noticed since opening our doors just a few months ago! Am I allowed to play as a Pokemon?
[break][break] No, we are a roleplay that is centered around human individuals within the pokemon universe, with their unique journeys and goals. While it is true that we do put some emphasis on pokemon creatures when it comes to pokemon battles and interactions, we do not allow players to play a pokemon in order to stay true to our character-driven theme and nullify any possible unfairness.

Are all of Pokemon's game mechanics implemented?
[break][break] Yes and no. We're a plot designed RP site that puts emphasis on the experience of being a pokemon trainer as opposed to needless grinding. With that said, things such as hidden abilities, egg moves and shiny pokemon are obtainable, though they are considered rare.[break][break]

The rules say one thing.. but this thread says another? Help?
[break][break] We're not perfect. There's a lot to manage and we're fallible to mistakes. Not to use it as an excuse, but it's true. With that said, if there is ever a discrepancy between the FAQ and the rules/information provided in The Players Handbook please bring it to the attention of a staffer and we'll correct it immediately.[break][break]

I like the Starter, but I like its Alonan form better.. Can I use that?
[break][break] Yes! So long as it has an alternate form (i.e. Ice Vulpix) you may start with that form. All other Pokemon you catch or find must be their original, spawned form unless otherwise stated.[break][break]

Can I join as Team Virus? What can my starter be, if I do?[break][break]
Yes you may join as a member of Team Virus, and unless specifically authorized before hand, must start out as a grunt. Because Virus members are hidden among society they're allowed to choose any Pokemon they wish from the authorized starter lists.[break][break]

Okay my wild/character app/shop request/etc. is done. How can I get a mod to look at it?[break][break]
Remember this, because you'll be using it a lot! Under the Service Desk (or at the top under Requests) we have something called the Request Thread. Just follow the prompt/code, post your request, and you'll have a mod in no time![break][break]

Where can I find what Pokemon spawn where?[break][break]
Right.. here! This tells you what TYPING are found on what routes. If the route you're looking at isn't listed than watch out! Just about anything can spawn there. [break][break]



Do I have to be a Trainer to battle gyms? Do I have to be a Coordinator to compete in Contests?[break][break]
No, any player group is open to collect badges or to compete in any contest they please.[break][break]

Can my starter know more moves than just the two it learns early? What about more than four?[break][break]

Luckily we have a solution! We came to a conclusion when we looked at the Pokemon and their abilities that having four, and only things like Tackle and Leer were.. Well, lame. Because of that we've made it that your starter starts out with FOUR moves of your choosing from it's entire, naturally learned move set! We've ALSO included an extra two abilities to give it a grand total of six.[break][break]

Well wait, can I change my Pokemon's moveset, or even add them? How?[break][break]

Of course! We understand that sometimes.. Things just didn't go to plan. So we decided that every five levels it earns since the level you caught/received it OR when it evolves, you can choose to replace or add another ability.[break][break]

How do evolutions outside of leveling work here?

My first wild! My mod spawned me a Pokemon.. What next?
[break][break] That's up to you! RP yourself battling, talking or even playing with the wild pokemon. The entire encounter is up to you! Should you defeat it and move on, simply ask for more Pokemon and we'd be glad to oblige! But remember, any capture attempt requires at LEAST 300 words.[break][break]

How many Wilds can I have? Can I "keep going?"
[break][break] You may have ONE solo wild and INFINITE duo wilds at one time. Should you fight three pokemon consecutively or even capture one, simply make a new request thread. IF you're doing a solo wild you MUST wait until the next week to 'continue' that thread.[break][break]

I don't like the spawn.. Can I skip?
[break][break] Of course. Just simply RP yourself a scenario (or a lack thereof) where you don't cross paths with the Pokemon. It can be short, but please, no less than a few sentences.[break][break]

Can I write excessive violence or kill wild pokemon?
[break][break] We follow proboards ToS at the end of the day and act as a PG-13 site. With that said, nature is nature and Pokemon may be killed/eaten/or otherwise treated poorly. Just try not to write a novel about ripping an Oddish's guts out, okay?[break][break]

Can I challenge another PC?
[break][break] You sure can. So long as they consent between the rules established you're more than welcome. Please do try to be respectful of another one and not exceed the limits of the fight. If there is an issue a Mod may be called in and.. well no one wants that.[break][break]
