Actively traveling across the region is a rather expensive hobby, and to combat those same expenses, young trainers often did odd jobs here and there to make up for their frivolous spending. This was no different, as blue hues stared at the screen, perusing local advertisements on the PC available in the pokemon center. So far she spotted one requesting aid in the lighthouse, removing some unwanted pesky pokemon, and even a few requests from the ranger station. After skimming over dozens, none of them particularly took her fancy, only lingering on one in the end.

It was an application from a older man, a trainer by the sounds of it, who required two trainers to go on a formal date so that he could amass information on the outcome. It sounded silly, but it was the only job that wouldn't require hard physical labor or any assistance from her pokemon.

Pulling out her Pokegear, Haruka inserted the listed number, the sound of the ring echoing in her ear as she attempted to contact the client. However, it seemed that he wouldn't answer, the gear ringing over and over, and she grew more discouraged by the second. Worst case scenario, she would have to settle for a different job, but ultimately the signifying click caught her attention followed by a quick, "Moshi Moshi?"

"Ah! Hello, my name is Haruka and im calling about your advertisement for two trainers...--"

That was the first development that lead to a string of events, all beginning with spending a few hours buying new clothes, getting a description of her assigned 'date', and finally --instructions as to where her evening was to take place. Tanba City was a beautiful beach front with everything from an arcade, a year round carnival, cruises, and more. With all of the excitement the city hosted, Haruka was perplexed as to why their 'date' was scheduled to begin with a boring dinner at a local outside restaurant. Clearly they could have come up with something far grandeur.

With the Twilight light fading, the streets began to illuminate on their own, street lamps powering on to give a aesthetic glow. She stood patiently by the doors of the restaurant, her frame clothed in a short blue summer dress and her hair licking at the back of her nape. It wasn't everyday that her hair wasn't fixed in a small tail or even topped with her familiar red bandana, but she was expected to play her part, --she only wished her 'partner' would play his as well.

Steven had been duped by his assistants from Devon Corporation, having traveled from Mossdeep to Tanba City to be a formal speaker on behalf of the company. Instead a ploy had been put into place for Steven to meet a trainer and enjoy his night out. It was a fools errand, the research that could have been done in his lab was paramount to discovering a new pokemon. Taking to the streets the pokemon proffesor scowled like an upset child who had been defeated at his favorite board game. It was unbecoming of him.

The single pokeball resting upon his belt was his partner Beldum. A dull hum greeting the proffesor, the Iron Ball Pokemon being released from its pokeball. Easing the scowl from his lips to a friendly grin, beside Beldum little could truly upset the pokemon proffesor. Knowing they would discover something tomorrow together. Opening the message from Devon Corp for the location of his blind meeting. A local restaurant that shared fame and fortune for its pokemon chef created dinners and drinks. Following the street signs as the day waned into night, the streets coming to life with lights.

Picking up his pace to arrive promptly on time, dressed in lucrative suit matched with the signature stones the proffesor was known for. A peculiar stone glistening from the lavender collar of his attire. Marching up the steps his eyes settled upon the trainer waiting for him. A young woman dressed in the sky itself as the blue linens wrapped around her shoulders and hips. Placing a hand above his breast as he bowed before her as he greeted her.

Proper posture returning as his steely gaze meet with hers, beside him Beldum greeted the pokemon trainer with a metallic hum. Levitating from its master to their guest, circling her in a friendly manner as he analyzed the pokemon trainer. Hovering beneath her hand before nudging it lightly with its blue metal armor. A gesture of its own to greet the cute pokemon trainer.

She had not been waiting for long, as her partner had arrived right on time, introducing himself as no other than the quite well known Steven Stone. Eyes widened and jaw dropped in awe in recognition, her lip quivering as she tried to express her surprise. "W-W-what! Professor Stone?! My father talks about you all the time!" she said, not bothering to tell him that her father was also a professor. Noticing the slight nudge on her hand, the young woman let her fingers stroke over the hard metal surface of the pokemon, greeting the Beldum before her eyes moved back to the man.

She had seen glimpses of pictures of the professor in books, magazines, and on tv programs, but she didn't that he actually was far more handsome than depicted, or quite as young. "Ah!" she exclaimed before jutting her hand outwards in greeting and stumbled quickly through her introduction, "My name is Haruka Birch, and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She didn't have an image of her partner in her head, but she didn't expect someone as renown as Professor Stone to be her mock date. Simply put, it was making her head spin.

"S-shall we go inside," she muttered, pulling her eyes away from him, her cheeks turning a pink color from her excitement. Moving towards the door she worried about the reaction people might have if they recognized him as well. She didn't want the job to be ruined by any onlookers. Standing in front of the host, she awaited her table, her hands gripping tightly around her bag. The evening was developing into something exhilarating.

Humble to the praise he eased up and followed up the steps to the beautiful Haruka. Beldum bonding with the trainer a welcome sight. The pokemon often observed its surroundings than interacting with them. What drew the pokemon to the charming young lady? A query for the proffesor to solve at a later date. With a simple stroke of his arms he prompted the removal of his jacket. Displaying the bright lavender scholarly vest with an ascot painted bright red. All holding in place the ivory lengths of fabric that was his dress shirt.

" What brings you to Tanba City Lady Haruka ?"

Taking a hold of her hand when she greeted him, shaking it softly before bowing his head. Haruka Birch would be name he would not soon forget. Suggesting the two journey beyond the doors and make the reservation. Agreeing with Haruka the two joined the wait staff as their table was being prepared for them. Handing off his jacket the young proffesor was free to socialize. It was obvious many knew the man but he gave all his focus to the beaming Haruka. Evident as his attention never waned from Haruka and Beldum.

" You are welcome to introduce your companions as well. It would be an honor to meet the acquaintances of Miss Birch."

Being seated at a table that looked out upon the sea, the lighthouse of Asagi City pulsing on the horizon. A gentle breeze rolling off the ocean before them, a small amount of privacy given to the two due to his status. A waiter joined with a pokemon came to take their order for drinks. Steven ordered the lemonade, having heard it was a fresh treat from the island town. The night was young and he was enjoying the company of Haruka. Perhaps he needed leave his lab more.
