This wasn't a date.
The brown/blue haired female had to remind herself several times as she made herself to destined 'meeting place' with the intent of meeting up with a certain white haired man. Despite being together, the two didn't necessarily travel together or anything. Likely because, as much as they liked each other, honestly, Vivian wasn't sure if they could tolerate each other that long. Her restraint and 'niceness' for Azad could only go so far - and while the idea of accidentally knocking out her boyfriend was amusing, it wasn't exactly preferred. Still, she did feel a bit...happier, going to see him and whatever. Their meetups were...pleasant. Even if they were the most ideal couple - honestly, most just assumed they'd hate each other at first glance - there wasn't another person in this whole damned region who Vivian felt this connected to. How could she not look forward to finally seeing him after a bit?
Although, this wasn't a date.
Nope, it was just a bout of nighttime training was all. Azad was one of the few people she considered 'good enough' to even consider training with anyway. An opportunity missed like this would've just been...stupid.
The water had an almost mystical glow in the moonlight, making it seem far more vast and mysterious than it actually was. Near its shoreline, she could make out a shape, and the pale hue of hair confirmed who it was. From where she sat atop her aerodactyl, the pokemon slowly dived down, landing in a magnificent way that fit a creature of his stature. Valefor landed a bit away from the man, his touchdown and spread of massive wings causing a brief gust to whip about, stirring even the still waters of the lake.
Vivian slid off the pokemon, touching a hand to his forehead in thanks - he only let out a soft growl, his dark gaze mostly trained on Azad. "Don't you dare." Vivian warned the pokemon, who only let out another growl. Valefor's training was still a...work in progress. At the very least, he listened now instead of attacking anything that moved in hopes of making it a meal.
"Yo," she finally greeted the silvery hand man in a rather casual way as she approached him, hands in her pocket and violet gaze staring up at him. Unlike her usual demeanor in regards to others, there wasn't a lick of malice nor anger on her face. In fact, her lips were curled into a lazy, lopsided smile. "You're looking well for an old man."

| DO YOU REMEMBER? LOOK AT ME AND ALL THE THINGS WE SAID WE'D BE. WE BEAT THE HOUNDS, WE PUSHED THE ODDS. WE'D TAKE IT ALL - WE HAD THE CAUSE. WITH YEARS TO BURN AND YEARS TO TRASH, LIVIN' LIFE BASED ON FLASH. BUT SOMEHOW REACHING FOR THE STARS, I THINK WE WENT A BIT TOO FAR.
This was totally a date.
I mean what else could it be? Yes training. Definitely training, but the two could go hand in hand for the now dating trainers. The two had both opted not to travel together, it was something they were both adamant about just because they'd entered a sort of intimate relationship didn't mean the couple had to be joined at the hip and he was sure that they'd rip each other's throats out if they were. Not to say that'd he'd mind, if he could choose anyone to rip his throat out he'd choose Vivian, no contest, but Azad wasn't at a point where having his throat ripped out sounded like an ideal future plan. Even more they weren't only a couple they were rivals and real growth (he believed) came with the new experiences they gained alongside their pokemon, as opposed to only each other. He'd made the promise not to hold back her training when this started and it was one the silver-haired boy planned to keep.
That and even attempting to study, or focus on any aspect of his research when the woman was around proved impossible, not only because she was 'impossible', but because he was just too damn enamored with her and couldn't help but tease the woman when he was around. All in all the two weren't built for love at least not in a way that was traditional and so they built their own way to make it work for them, something that was proving to work well for the two, it also gave them more to talk about when they did meet up.
In fact this little training session was another one of the duo's creations. instead of meeting for dinner they would meet to train together seeing as they were both around the same level in skill and prowess it was less excuse and more an actual event. That said, Azad had every intention of romancing the woman throughout the night, it's why he dressed up for the occasion. Nothing fancy of course, but he made time to prepare his outfit and look more than presentable for the woman, who judging by the massive creature spiraling down was on the cusp of arriving.
A single green eye turns to face the girl as her flier of choice lands the prehistoric pokemon meeting the darker-skinned trainer's glance hostility only managed by the massive pokemon's trainer. It was a new addition to the woman's team and one he'd be mentioning shortly. Aerodactyl were rare almost legendary pokemon that were known for their prehistoric strength. Where the woman managed to find one was beyond him.
Eyes fall to the woman as she approaches the man Azad fully turning to face his girlfriend in the darkness. "Isn't it a bit late for cute kids like you to be out and about?
From the River itself Kreiss would rise his lanky body first catching the girl's eye growling lowly to his trainer. "Yes, I already told her she's beautiful." He'd glance back to the woman after addressing his pokemon. "Kreiss thinks your cute, I do too."
Before Azad could continue however the water began to tremble and the forest itself began to shake, "But Compliments will have to wait I think we may have found some opponents already, A good start to our date."

clever as the devil but twice as pretty ____________________
Wait...why the hell was he dressed nicely? What point of 'not a date' did he not understand? Still, his taunting greeting in response to her own made her roll her eyes, despite the ghost of a smile daring to show itself. Words that used to annoy her more than one would think now seemed like an everyday greeting to her. And, honestly, she wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Before she could possibly give her usual sharp quip back, a slender shape rose from the waters, its sapphire sheen seeming as vibrant as always, even in the nighttime. "Kriess," she greeted the pokemon warmly - in fact, even more so than she had greeted her own boyfriend. She couldn't help but snicker slightly, "well, tell Kriess I said thanks." She couldn't help but tease the man once more, even if his compliment did make her insides feel warm. The idea of looking cute or attractive to anyone was...still odd to her. Or, rather, someone still found her cute after getting to know her. It was still all so...foreign to her. At times, she even had to remind herself that the man was genuinely complimenting her, and not trying to be snide or 'get one up on her'. There was a slight nudge from her aerodactyl, who gave her a pointed look. "Oh...Uh...You look..." Fuck. How did compliments work again? "....Okay. Not...punchable?" Even in the dark, one could see the slight tinge to her cheeks as she struggled to express her feelings and genuinely be...well, nice. Still, it was the thought that mattered, right? Thankfully, it seemed the wilderness being attracted towards them would save her from any further embarrassment. The sudden ripple in the previously still waters made the trainer's eyes narrow slightly - her concentration only lost by the mere mention of this...'meet up' being a date. "Not a date," Vivian quickly snapped out to the white haired man, glowering at him from the corner of her eyes and refusing to give him the satisfaction of making her embarrassed with such a simple statement. Thankfully, any feelings that threatened to stir in her heart were quickly replaced when the surface of the lake seemed to explode. From it rose a leviathan of a pokemon, its mouth permanently gaped, revealing massive fangs as water cascaded down its serpentine body. The forest itself seemed to tremble as a roar released itself from the creatures mouth - it was none other than a Gyarados, a pokemon so fearsome that it was deemed as the 'atrocious pokemon'. And yet, there was nothing but excitement in those violet eyes of the trainer as her gaze lingered on the dangerous pokemon, who snarled down at the two trainers."Mine." The simple, yet demanding word came from her lips quickly, her eyes locked onto the monstrosity before them. Any sane person would maybe request to take down such a foe together - if not just leave it alone altogether. But Vivian? This was a chance to test herself and her pokemon - and she'd be damned if she let anyone take that away from here, even Azad. "don't interfere. If you get in my way..." There was nothing but a deathly serious tone of her voice, and the lingering air of a threat. Azad or not, if he got in her way, she'd have no mercy. Before she could command her aerodactyl to make the first strike, a pokeball on her hip opened, and before her stood Asta. He stood tall, the pupitar staring up at her with a determined look. "...You felt it too, huh?" She quietly spoke to the pokemon as they exchanged a brief stare, sharing emotions that only they'd ever understand. The bond between a pokemon and trainer was quite the mysterious thing, no? And, of all her team, Asta understood it the most. This was their fight - together. "Valefor. Stand down," she commanded her aerodactyl, who growled loudly, but, took several paces back, retreating towards the trees. The gyarados, tired of waiting, launched itself forward, massive maw spread even further as it prepared to use 'bite'. "To the left!" Vivian quickly commanded, and the armored pokemon threw itself out of the way, narrowly avoiding the move. The gyarados only ended up with a mouth full of dirt as its face slammed into the dirt.
Anger flaring in its eyes, the pokemon's tail swept forward, cloaked in a torrent of fierce water. "Counter with a stone edge," unable to move out of the way this time, the pupitar's eyes would glow as several large pillars of stone erupted from the ground in some sort of 'shield'. Adapting to being unable to dodge as much due to being far larger, and heavier, than he was as a larvitar, Vivian had to admit - they'd come a long way in training. The wild pokemon's tail smashed into pillars of stone, making chunks of it go flying as the gyarados let out a bellow of pain. Its eyes became all the more fiercer though as anger blazed in its wild gaze. "Shit - Asta, be prepared-" She couldn't even finish her warning before the aquatic serpentine like creature had attacked once more. Unlike its posed strikes before, these were more sloppy - more raged induced. Its massive body tore through the area, body whipping about, gorging up chunks of earth and even swatting down trees as the gyarados thrashed about. 'Shit - Azad, be careful!' Ugh - what the hell? That was...new. Caring about someone else during battle...no - she needed to focus! Just as her gaze turned back towards the battle, she could see Asta fiercely trying to avoid the monstrous pokemon's attacks. He dodged back and forth, occasionally using stone edge to try and block - however, that massive tail soon slammed into his backside, sending him flying forward with a cry of pain, only to be slammed with the wild pokemon's body once more. He was otherwise unable to counter attack whilst his body was rammed back and forth between the far larger pokemon's attack. Finally though, he was flung out of the way, now bruised quite a bit as the pupitar struggled to stand.
"Asta!" The pupitar shook, wincing as he slowly rose, but, his serious look hadn't faded. "I know - you're not going down just yet." Even if slight anxiety gripped at her at the obvious pain the pokemon was in, she gave a smirk. "We're not done just yet, partner. We still have more fight left in us, right?" The pupitar only nodded. They'd win this fight - together.
Swaying about in confused manner, the gyarados faced them, growling loudly. It lunged first, but stones erupted from the ground once more, capturing the pokemon's head in a prison of some sort, its lengthy neck wedged between the stone pillars. In retaliation, its tail swept forward once more in a lopsided attack.
"Asta, crunch!" Previously hidden teeth showed as the shell parted, chomping down onto the water/flying type's tail, and holding on tightly as the pokemon squirmed about, roaring in pain, but, unable to do a thing. Quickly devising a plan in her head, the brunette couldn't help but cockily smirk. Despite the previous scare, they had this. Dangerous or not, this stupid water snake was no match for them. They could easily beat this-Snap.Violet eyes widened at the sight before her, dread making her paralyzed at the rather...gruesome sight. The wild gyarados' body tore through the stone that trapped it, ripping the fins of its head and chipping its pointed blue 'crown' without the enraged creature even flinching. Ignoring the severe injury to its battered body, it turned. The trapper had now been trapped.
Neck twisted, the gyarados lunged, its icy cloaked fangs biting down into the pupitar's shell painfully tight. Asta's scream of pain was loud as widening cracks appeared in the shelled pokemon's body. "Holy...shit..." Vivian couldn't help but breath out. This...wasn't supposed to happen. What the fuck - this wasn't supposed to happen! Frozen by the wild pokemon's savagery, she couldn't have predicted what would've happened next. Ignoring as the pupitar tore off a chunk of its fin from its body, the gyarados ripped Asta's jaws away from where they crunched down onto it. It then dove into the lake, with the pupitar in tow.It was going to fucking drown him. "Shit - shit! Asta!" The girl's voice cracked as she raced forward, abandoning all logic at this point. She could've called Valefor - hell, she could've asked Azad for help. But, it was the last thing on her mind...and, honestly, she wouldn't have accepted it either way. As terrified as she was for her partner, this was their fight. The surface of the water thrashed about in a wild dance as the gyarados disappeared under the surface with her pupitar in tow.
'Fuck, fuck...fuck! Asta!?' She peered into the water's edge, breath coming out in short, panicked gasps. Seeing the girl - usually so calm and cocky when battling - looking so...terrified. It was a sight. And any who doubted the love she held for her team, regardless how icy or harsh she could be to them, couldn't be doubted. Even if she clung to her beliefs of independence and strength even in times like this, the girl looked...panicked. She looked terrified.'Asta's pokeball - I can...Shit, no, its too late, fuck fuck- Asta...!' She could feel her heart clenching painfully as she struggled for a plan. 'Separ - I can get Separ, and he can-' Before she could devise a scrambled plan, the waters surface rippled, and her heart soared with relief..."Asta-..?!"
Relief quickly turned to dread once more. What came from out the water wasn't her beloved partner, but, the now scarred behemoth itself. "Shit-" The scream couldn't even leave her lips in time as its shadowy form fell over her, jaw posed to swallow her whole, its fangs elongated in sharp ice as though to stick a middle finger up to its newest victim.
Valefor had surged forward when he realized the severe danger his trainer was in, a loud screech coming from his maw, eyes briefly looking towards Azad as though to scream at him to do something. Forget the girl's pride or values - this was more important! As fast as Valefor was though, it'd be too late when he got there. She was screwed. She could feel the chilled breath of the gyarados before her and the shadow of its gaped jaw loomed over her. And yet... 'Asta...' The idea of her pupitar sinking towards the bottom of the lake, slowly drowning...Because she froze at the last minute...She couldn't even feel resentment or anger towards the situation. Not now. But, the pain didn't come. She didn't feel icy fangs ripping through her flesh. Craning open an eye, she saw standing before her...whoa - what the actual hell...? Holding the gyarados jaws open with his clawed hands, there was a new shadow cast over her, a familiar face looking over its shoulder and glancing down at her. Unfamiliar - but..."You're...." She breathed out, her breathed slowed as she tried to take in the scene before her. A giant within its own, before her stood a tyranitar, holding the serpentine pokemon back by its own mouth, even as icy fangs bit into its arms.....And the green hued creature had the nerve to smile. A smile so childish - so annoying playful, so damned stupid..."....Asta?!" The tyranitar let out a rumble, drowned out only by the gyarados' enraged growl as it struggled within the tyranitar's grip on its mouth. Both trainer and pokemon ignored it though. "You...always come through when I need you, huh?" She couldn't help but grumbled under her breath, but, a genuine, warm grin etched itself onto her lips, relief coursing through her, followed by a sense of pride, if not embarrassment soon after. "Tch, making me worry and shit....Stupid." She wasted little time in snapping at the pokemon, even if she could feel wetness on her cheeks. The sudden slam of the wild pokemon's tail on the ground quickly reminded her that - happy reunion or not - they had something to take care of. Wiping her cheek, that familiar confidence returned to the previously terrified trainer. "If you were trying to kill us - you should've done it. You only had one shot." Cockiness returning, she chided the gyarados with a scoff, "Asta - hyper beam." With a roar of his own that shook the ground, a dark orb of sheer energy formed in front of the pokemon's jaws slowly expanding as white sparks crackled around it. The ball nearly exploded as a massive beam of dark energy fired from Asta's mouth, slamming into the gyarados - who was unable to flee due to the tyranitar's grip. The serpentine pokemon went flying, plunking back into the lake's depths. Except, this time, it didn't dare rise again. Standing tall in all of his glory, the newly evolved pokemon let out a roar of victory, looking as powerful as he should've been....until he promptly grabbed his trainer in a hug, lifting her off the ground this time. "W-what, Asta - idiot, cut it out, put me down! Fucking - I wish you had drowned, let me go!" The brunette stuttered out, as the tyranitar effectively cuddled his trainer, who was now, and finally, powerless in his grip. "Azad, help!" Now it seemed like the trainer wanted his help! The wild gyarados' intimidate halved Asta's attack! The wild gyarados used bite! Asta dodged the attack! The wild gyarados used aqua tail! Asta used stone edge to counter! It was super effective! The wild gyarados used thrash! Asta was hit several times! Asta trapped the gyarados via stone edge & used crunch!
He can't help but roll his eyes, soon a palm would find itself on the shorter woman's head his smile far more honest than the woman's. "Someone's been working on their compliments, next time try 'nice' less-punchable' is a mouthful." the professor quips moving his hand bracing himself for a punch or two depending on the girl's mood.
Before the two could get to their antics however they were interrupted by a massive quaking of the lake a Gyrados rising from its depths. Kreiss seemed prepared to battle and so Azad would focus himself emerald eyes becoming sharp only for his girlfriend to step in front of him claiming the massive serpent as her own opponent. It was annoying, but he'd let the woman have her way knowing it'd be useless to fight her on this. "Kreiss Standby. keep an eye out." The dragon type simply nodded eyes focused on the water demon before the dragon retreated ever so slightly sapphire eyes hardened not unlike his trainer's.
With that he'd tap the girl's back pushing her forward to face the foe. "If you take too long I'll take it down myself, stay focused." There was a fair share of haughtiness in the man's voice but he'd acquiesce all the same. She called out her starter it's silver shell gleaming in the moonlight. Asta had definitely gone through his fair share of changes, no longer was he the small green monster, no the pokemon had found a new layer of armor since its evolution and had become quite the battle hardened pokemon under his trainer's tutelage. That said Azad knew the pokemon was at heart a softie.
He'd focus on the battle until from its ball Fai would appear from the trees an opponent on its tail. Azad had released the fox pokemon prior to the woman's arrival and as Fai often did the pokemon had returned with his own fair share of trouble. From the brush a golduck would come chasing the pokemon rage marring the duck pokemon's features.
"I can't leave you alone for a moment." Eyes sharpened once more turning away entirely from his girlfriend focusing on his own battle now.
"Sand Attack." The normal type would unleash its classic move kicking up a field of sand at the duck pokemon blinding it momentarily, before the attack could stick however the water type coated itself in water charging at the normal type dealing a fair amount of damage to the Eevee.
Vivian's scream immediately draws his attention Asta and the serpent are nowhere to be found and the woman herself has traveled to close to the water now. He hesitates for a moment, but knowing the urgency of the situation he chooses to sacrifice her pride for the safety of her pokemon. "Kreiss!" Without question the pokemon would dive as a water pulse struck Fai the normal types cries forcing the trainer to focus on his own battle.
This wasn't going as planned.
"Covet!" The eevee not done in the slightest would avoid the next water pulse before slamming into the duck pokemon slowly bringing the fight back. The man fought the urge to rush to Vivian's side knowing that in order to help her, he had to deal with the problem in front of himself first.
Kreiss dove into the lake at the trainers behest speeding toward the bulkier serpant in its teeth was Asta, however the pupitar seemed a bit different as it was dropped at the bottom of the lake the Gyrados now rising to finish the job. The pokemon swam to the bottom but before he could reach the pupitar something had begun to happen....
"Covet once more!"[/b The attack connected again, but with his focus split Fai in the interim took another Aqua Jet leaving the eevee's health at special low. That said the Golduck wasn't looking too hot either. When the water shakes again drawing his attention toward the massive serpent the trainer takes off in a dash only to be blocked by the Golduck.
"no....no NO!" As if responding directly to his heart Fai would jump forward it's body soaking in the moonlight glowing white the pokemon would evolve into an Umbreon before fading into the darkness striking the Golduck down with a feint attack.
Thankfully as the dark type technique connected knocking the opponent out Vivian was saved by none other than Asta. The massive green dinosaur-esque pokemon was accompanied by Kreiss the slender dragon rising from the depths relaxed as the gargantuan pokemon eliminated the enemy dropping the gyrados back into the depths of the lake.
Azad would fall to a knee for a moment still processing everything that happened first looking to Fai who'd taken his own victory.
"You did well my friend. I'm so proud of you." it wasn't quite the celebration Vivian was having but the dark type and his trainer shared their own moment nonetheless bathing the two in moonlight the Umbreon now healing its wounds and easing his trainer's worries all the while.
With the enemies both taken care of Azad would move toward the girl and her pokemon arms crossed looking up at the gentle giant who'd scooped up his trainer in a bear hug.
"Where do you get off!" The man stomped his foot looking at the duo the newly evolved Fai at his side looking exasperated than anything, Red eyes focused on his now giant friend. "What if you died out there?! You always take it too far in your damn battles, You almost gave me, Fai and your fucking flying massive jawed Aerodactyl hear attacks!" He'd gesture to the Aerodactyl in question regardless of the expression it currently had on. "Be more careful you idiot We're worried about you!" He'd then turn his attention the the gargantuan monster that was currently squeezing his girlfriend. "AND YOU." He'd have his hands on his hips now completely lecturing the duo entirely unafraid of the Tyranitar. "Could you have cut it any closer?! You almost drowned you clumsy giant and we need you here ALIVE!" the man would take a moment to pinch the bridge of his nose Fai nuzzling against the professor's leg easing the silver haired professor.
"All in all. Good job... Both of you. I'm proud of you Asta. Just... try and be a little safer next time. please." With that he'd offer a nervous smile both to the pokemon and to the girl. Placing a hand against the newly evolved rock type's chest all the while Fai would simply climb up his old friend using the pokemon's back spikes as footstools.
The two had definitely come a long way.

clever as the devil but twice as pretty ____________________
Honestly...Vivian still couldn't believe her eyes. Asta - the tiny larvitar that'd been with her since...forever, he had finally, finally evolved. The idiotic, stupidly affectionate larvitar that used to cling to the back of her leg was now picking her up...This would definitely take some getting used to. But, she honestly couldn't have been prouder of her old time friend. He had really came through for her, and she appreciated it.
...What she didn't appreciate was that this damned hug was lasting far too long.
However, their 'moment' was interrupted by Azad, who came not to save her from the tyranitar's affection, but, to scold her.
She stared at the professor for a moment, wincing a bit as he began to lay down the hard, yet truthful, facts. The desire, and urge, to get angry definitely rose - who the hell did he think she was? Some stupid gyarados wasn't about to deter her, especially had it actually drowned Asta. But...even she could see the slight concern in his eyes - he wouldn't have been scolding her if he didn't care. And so, as annoying and 'unnecessary' as it was, she...did nearly die. So, yeah, he sorta did have a reason to be pissed off. She was so wrapped up in the battle - in her own thoughts, she didn't even realize that there were others who cared for her, others who'd be sad had she gotten hurt. Azad, and Valefor {as much as the aerodactyl would agree - he refused to even look at her}, they both...
Damn...this felt weird. But, it wasn't horrible.
And so, with a little huff, she only looked away, despite the smile that threatened to play on her lips. 'Yeah. Of course they'd care. Idiots.' "I...yeah. I'll be more careful, I guess." She grumbled out quietly, a light blush of embarrassment on her cheeks. Asta, who still clung to Vivian, blinked as he began to get the full force of Azad's scolding. Grip loosening, the trainer slid from out her pokemon's grasp, who in turn poked his clawed fingertips together in 'shame'. He let out a soft little growl - probably an apology of some kind.
However, the tyranitar soon enough beamed at the professor's praise, his massive tail swaying about in some sort of wag. Even if he was huge now, he was still as idiotically adorable as ever, it seemed. His head tilted to the side a bit to greet the umbreon that rested on his shoulder, letting out a little rumble, hands clapping together as though to congratulate his old friend on his newfound strength through evolution. He stomped around a bit, happily carrying Fai atop his shoulder in sheer delight, stopping only to wave at Kriess and letting out a soft growl of thanks. He knew it was the dragonair who had saved him from drowning, evolution or not.
Vivian herself would also speak up in regards to both the umbreon and dragonair. "Hey - Kriess, Fai." She regarded the two pokemon with a little look before giving them an approving nod of her own. She'd even lean forward to let her hand gently pet the top of the now pitch black pokemon's fur as Asta leaned down some. "...Thanks." It felt...a bit embarrassing, but, there was no denying the gratefulness in her tone, even if it was small. "Oh - you too, Valefor." The aerodactyl only growled, turning his back completely to his trainer.
"And...you too." Her violet gaze would finally turn to rest on Azad as she approached him. Corners of her lips daring a smile - or maybe a mischevious smirk - the space between them would slowly diminish, as her arms rested on his shoulders, her hands briefly intertwining to 'lock' him in place in an almost cutesy manner. With that, she'd lean forward, her lips briefly pressing against his own in a peck. As soon as the kiss had happened though, it was gone, as the brunette took a few steps back, looking away once more. "I guess."
"And don't expect anymore of 'those' tonight. We're here strictly for training." She was sure to quickly add on. "I'm serious."

He'd expected a full fight. Perhaps not from Asta, but from Viv herself. An argument typically would have followed with screaming and shouting in tow, it was how to the two dealt with things, and how they managed to get their points across they weren't perfect, but it got the job done. Surprisingly however when he finished the woman apologized leaving the man with a loss for words. Asta also seemed more than fine understanding his mistakes before appreciating the silver-haired researcher's compliments. When the girl manages to slide through her pokemon's grip she wraps her arms around him forcing him to take a step back out of pure surprise before landing a kiss on the unsuspecting trainer. An easy way to shut him up.
When she releases him both Kreiss and Fai are giggling like school girls behind the woman both watching their trainer smirks plastered on their faces. Of all the pokemon he had to have out it just happened to be the two jokers. Great. Still his focus lingered on the girl, more than any of his teammates and so he catches her eye for a moment before looking away clearing his throat.
"Q-Quite. As long as you understand." A terrible attempt at hiding his shock and embarrassment in equal amounts.
"Now as proud as I am I believe we have more training to do, and..." Eyes would flicker to the lake edge two sets of beady eyes would appear before leaving the water revealing two entirely wet forms as if on cue. "Perfect timing, Kreiss since you have so much to laugh about you can take this next fight." The dragonair simply rolled its eyes it's tail splashing water with its tail preparing itself for battle.
"I trust you can take on the fairy, I'll take down the floatzel, yeah?" With said Azad would order the dragon pokemon forward, "Dragon Dance." The mood changed almost instantly as the man called out his first technique draconic energies swirling around the serpent pokemon as it became more ferocious his eyes locked on the Otter Pokemon that'd challenged the two. Sensing the hostility the floatzel would dash forward surrounding itself with water unleashing an aqua jet on the water type.
The clash caused a wince out of the dragon who'd then dive into the water. The technique wasn't too effective thanks to the water types resistances, but it gave an opportunity to have this full battle beneath the tides. "Azad despite his lack of vision would call out his next technique over the violent waters. "Dragon Dance!" Beneath the the surface once again energies would surge the dragon type almost glowing beneath the waters surface as the floatzel continued to pound the pokemon with Aqua Jets.
When the Dragon's eyes opened it was time to go on the offensive.
"Dragon Rush." And with that the battle was over. In a swift motion the pokemon's tail would glow with that same dangerous energy. With the dragon's speed and attack increased two fold it only took a single strike to knock the floatzel out of the water its body skidding as it washed ashore completely unconscious.
"Nicely done." Once again on cue Kreiss would rise from the water this time a little worse for wear, but ready for another fight or two. With his battle taken care of Azad's focus would return to his girlfriend who was most likely locked into her own fight.

It was hard for the brunette not to smirk at the obviously frazzled look of the professor as her, rare, display of affection. What? It was the perfect way to shut him up, and it was always nice one-upping her boyfriend and making him embarrassed. "Mhm." The girl would simply reply in a rather...smug manner - but, thankfully didn't comment on it anymore.
The mere mention of training made the trainer nod - especially as their newest opponents showed themselves, likely curious of all the racket the monstrous battle the trainers both shared had caused. With the familiar rush of the flow of battle surging through her. "Tch, what do you take me for? Watch and learn, old man," the female cockily stated with a roll of her eyes. Surprisingly, she didn't call on neither Asta nor Valefor. Instead, a different member of her team would make his grand appearance - it was Arsene. The gallade bowed slightly to his trainer like the valiant knight he was, faithfully awaiting for her command...until he saw Azad.
Now, Arsene was usually incredibly polite. A bit stoic - but, a well mannered, respectable pokemon...A knight in ever word. Unless you were Azad. Before the two began dating, the gallade was perfectly okay with the man...but afterwards, it seemed as though everything went to hell. If he wasn't casually extending those incredibly sharp arm blades of his towards the professor, he was throwing him an equally sharp glare. Maybe he was just protective of his 'fair lady' - honestly, Vivian wasn't sure.
That didn't mean she didn't get a small laugh from the whole thing each and every time though.
Arsene gave Azad a rather sharp glower, before putting himself pointedly between the two, his attention turned adoringly back towards his trainer. "Alright, Arsene. It's time for a bit of trainer." "Gallade." He turned to face their opponent - an azumarill. There was a bit of irony in the whole situation - given that his close pokemon companion, owned by Frederick, was[ an azumarill, but, the pokemon wouldn't dwell on it.
"Start off with a magical leaf," the trainer commanded, and the pokemon quickly obliged. With a speed that they'd been working on, the pokemon whisked forward, leaves materializing around his being. They glowed in a mysterious energy, the sharp bladed leaves surging forward. The azumarill attempted to counter with a sudden burst of bubbles, the sparkling, watery orbs shooting forward. They managed to deter a few leaves, however, the sharply bladed leaves managed to pierce through the counterattack, striking the wild pokemon who, in turn, let out a cry of pain.
Shaking itself off, the azumarill dashed forward, a puff of smoke clouding the pokemon as it tackled itself into the gallade in a 'play rough' attack. Unable to see what was going on, but, hearing the grunt of pain from her pokemon as he was repeatedly struck over and over by the powerful water/fairy type...she had to act quick. "Arsene - teleport," she commanded, "directly above!" The smoke would abruptly cease, as the gallade would sudden materialize overhead the unsuspecting azumaril, who looked back and forth for its target in a confused manner.
"Drop down with a psyho cut!" The blades of the pokemon's elbows extended as he fell towards the ground, directly overhead the wild pokemon. Blades glowing vibrantly, the azumaril never saw it coming, as they cracked down atop its head in an almost dive bomb like manner. It was enough to make even the trainer herself wince as the painful sound echoed. The azumarill never stood a chance, and fainted upon contact, as it slumped to the ground.
The gallade, in turn, landed gracefully, despite the few small injuries that covered his form. "You're getting better with utilizing teleport like that. Good job." The trainer nodded, and the gallade beamed.
"You finished before me? Tch, unfair," the girl almost childishly pouted when she realized Azad had already finished his fight, a hand resting on her hip - but, a grin on her lips. "You've improved. Obviously, not as good as me-" She stopped herself in mid gloat.
Nice. Right. Gotta be nicer.
"You did good."

When the Gallade comes out Azad can't help but wonder what happened between the two that led to such aggressive behavior from the pokemon. Back when he was a kirlia and even earlier into his time as a Gallade the psychic type was fairly relaxed and was actually one of Azad's favored pokemon when it came to Vivi's team, however as the two got more intimate the Gallade has grown hostile over the months much to the trainers dismay, but all the pokemon involved or at least partially got a decent kick out of it. Scizor especially and now Kabutops who'd recently evolved definitely knew about the situation seeing as the trio of bladed pokemon often trained together.
Both his pokemon refused or simply didn't care to explain the struggle to him, but Azad didn't exactly push the topic either and so when he finds himself at the pokemon's blade it's sharpness focused on Azad for a moment or two the man simply shrugs.
"It's nice to see you too Arsene, you had a good win."
Azad noted despite the aggressive behavior a little to weary to react to the pokemon's casual disdain, shifting his gaze to his girlfriend who noted his own win, not without her own caveat however to which she too would recieve an eyeroll, though it was accompanied by a smirk. "Don't get too ahead of yourself Kiddo, You still can't take me in a fight. Not yet at least." The man yawned as he spoke before Kreiss' call directed him to the next set of wild pokemon coming to challenge them.
Still Boosted by the dragon dance the pokemon's blood boiled hot and as such was more than ready for another fight. The floatzel had done its damage but with its current strength the trainer believed his teammate was more than capable of wrapping up a third pokemon of the evening. And so this time Azad would take the initiative. "Now, I believe we have another enemy waiting on us. Kreiss Dragon Rage!" There was power in the dark-skinned trainer command his focus returning for third fight of the night. Responding to his trainer's energy the dragon type launched an orb of purple flames surrounded by an odd electricity at the first of the two enemies, a Lanturn who thanks to its light served as a solid target even as it swam just below the water's murky surface.
Responding in kind to the dragonair's aggression a wounded lanturn would splash above the lake water launching its retaliation in the form of an orb of pure electricity striking true, and while it was a strong strike the dragon's resistance to electricity cut the damage Kreiss normally would have taken in half. If anything thanks to the attack both the dragon and its trainer were able to better pinpoint the water types location and as such the next attack would end the battle thanks in part to the dragon dances prior.
"Finish it up, Dragon Rush."
The dragon type would dash forward familiar draconic energies surrounding the pokemon before knocking the Lanturn deep into the murky depths leaving the fish unconscious beneath the waves. "Kreiss, you keep showing out like that and the other pokemon may feel a bit threatened my friend." Azad would watch the conclusion to Vivi's battle his mind focused on the technique her and the blade pokemon used last time to finish the fight. The woman would be a competitor using tactics like that, and so Azad was already deep in his mental lab formulating strategies and counters to discuss when it came time for the two to eventually face off.

clever as the devil but twice as pretty ____________________
Vivian couldn't help but snicker at the otherwise impassive look Arsene gave Azad at his praise, as the usually polite pokemon just seemed to stoically take a place between her and the man - and didn't seem too keen on moving. She was about to reassure her boyfriend that Arsene was just 'grumpy' today or something {even if it was a lie}, but, the thought fell in favor of gaining a competitive glower towards the man at his rather challenging words. Now, had any other said such a ludicrous thing to her...they'd probably get punched. Maybe cursed out. Possibly both...And if they were an actual threat, she'd likely challenge them to a fight right then and there? Now, with Azad?...This was a bit more...complicated.
"Oh please. I could mop the floor with you. Tch - you're talking to the future champion, y'know? Show some damn respect." The girl arrogantly scoffed, waving off the man's challenged with a certain cockiness that only she could pull off. In actuality, she did want to one day challenge the man. Nerd or not, he was powerful - it was one of the qualities she adored about him. His strength was nothing to be laughed lightly at...and maybe, yes, she took pride in saying she had a boyfriend that could 'definitely beat the shit out of you' {a threat she had admittedly used more than once}...But how could she not look forward to the day she could finally just...beat that stupid, cocky face of his into the ground. There would be no greater joy than that day - and, surprisingly enough, she could wait for it.
He and her both knew that his defeat was inevitable anyway.
"Right, Asta?" The tyranitar, who had been sitting on the ground now playing with Fai, perked up - innocently blinking with a tilted head. He looked more like a puppyish growlithe than a creature feared for its strength...It seemed like things would never change with him, eh?
Before she could possibly reply though, it seemed their new challenge had arrived...and she was ready for it. Azad and Kriess had began to skillfully fight a lanturn that had made its appearance, leaving her with...? Wait - what...where? She blinked once, then twice. Had no other pokemon showed up?
About to loudly complain - and possibly try and steal her boyfriend's fight from him, a sudden ripple in the water prevented either from happening. With a loud cry, and dopey looking pokemon pulled itself onto shore, its simply, annoying expression trained on both her and her gallade. Was...this supposed to be their challenge?
She...wasn't exactly impressed, but, it'd at least be a good training post? "Arsene," she called to her gallade, who nodded dutifully. Surprisingly enough, the quagsire was fast. It's large body hobbled forward, as it suddenly flew itself forward and onto the gallade in a slam. The clunky oddness of the attack seemingly shocked both trainer and pokemon as the gallade was crushed underneath the pokemon. "..Al...right? For the love of..." How was she supposed to take this seriously? "Arsene - brush it off. Toss it back with close combat." She could nearly see the crushing blows of the gallade's fist rippling against the large pokemon's stomach as his arms moved in a blur, connecting punch after punch into the quagsire and sending it rolling back.
The gallade rose, shaking himself off a bit and looking more disgruntled than hurt. The quagsire angrily puffed its cheeks out as they filled with water, otherwise alarming the trainer. "Be on guard - be prepared to evade." The first shot of water left the quagsire's mouth like a bullet, but, the knightly pokemon quickly sidestepped, avoiding the sudden torrent of water, much to the wild pokemon's anger. It's cheeks expanded once again with water, and Vivian couldn't help but let out a little 'tch'. 'So, that's what game its playing? Fine,' the female thought to herself with a shake of her head. "Arsene - double team!"
Immediately, the gallade's form would blur as it split into several copies of him, surrounding the water/ground type, and thoroughly confused it. Cheeks fat as it gurgled with water, the quagsire looked to and fro in sheer confused, before beginning to raid fire spit water guns. Its attempt was futile though - this battle was already done. She couldn't help but glance over at Azad - briefly enamored by the man's own skill in battle...he'd grown so much since they had first met- ugh, focus, focus!
"Finish it with magical leaf!" The remaining copies would all suddenly materialize those mystically glowing, bladed leaves, and they'd suddenly shoot forward and head directly towards the quagsire. The mixture of leaves made it impossible to tell which ones were fake and which ones were real, even if it tried to counter with another water gun. Its resistance was otherwise futile, as the real attack hit its mark without a hitch.
The quagsire let out a gurgle of pain, the gathered water in its cheeks spilling out as it slumped to the ground. The remaining copies of the gallade disappeared with a sudden blur, leaving only the real Arsene standing. He brushed off the small blemishes he'd been given, looking expectantly at his trainer who grinned as she approached him. Reaching forward, Vivian lightly patted him on the head - a small, rare sign of affection from the trainer, which caused the gallade to bashfully look away. "You've grown so much since you were a ralts." She commented in a quiet tone, and the gallade nodded, an appreciative gleam in his eyes.
Of course, the girl was still a bit...touchy about who saw her softer moments - boyfriend or not. And so, with a bristle, she'd abruptly turn away from the gallade, clearing her throat. "Uhm..." She seemed a bit embarrassed - and was halfway hoping that another set of wild pokemon would appear, but, nobody came.
Thankfully, Asta seemed to come to her rescue, as the tyranitar would suddenly rise to his full height and crept over to Azad. With a loud, affectionate rumble, the pokemon would basically pick the man up, nuzzling his face into the professors - and probably even licking his face affectionately once or twice. It was...a pretty cute sight, honestly.
"He's missed you." 'I did too, I guess.'
Arsene would only snicker.
