WONT SHAKE ME DOWN | AND JUST FORSAKE ME NOW [attr="class","dngbrd brd1"] [attr="class","dngbrd brd2"] [attr="class","dngtxtcon"]  With a crack of his neck Ethan walked through the fields, now taking a break from his morning run as he and Malik have reached their destination. Trying to get back into his old routine he had before he had gotten fired the ex-cop was making sure to keep up with his exercises once more, and in addition to that he had been training himself to once again wake himself at dawn. He's only gotten back to this scheduled after he had a purpose once more thought it was still going to take a bit before having skipped this routine for over a year to get back into everything completely. [break][break] After having spent the night to rest up near headquarters Ethan took it upon himself to once again attempt to build up his team. Malik was learning, but in his mind it wasn't enough, not in comparison to his older pokemon that he gave for purification. That was fine though, Ethan was starting up new again despite still feeling like he was too old to be starting from the beginning again. If nothing else it brought purpose, and that was what he needed in his life again. [break][break] As he and Malik searched through the plains of possible wild pokemon to train with or capture there was an odd feeling that he was being followed, he had checked behind him multiple times through the morning though so far nothing. Maybe his nerves were messing with him due to the cool morning air, ah well. In an attempt to put his mind at ease he just lit up a cigarette, huffing out a puff of smoke in an attempt to relax. What it counter productive to his morning run? Hell yes, did he care? Hell no. Apollo's predatory instinct seemed to kick in automatically whenever issued a command by his trainer, the woman lounging comfortably against his back with an arm reached back to support her head as she scrolled through the information on her phone. The simple order to find her fellow agent had turned into something of a game for the Skarmory when the inattentive grunt found herself too engrossed in data to notice their target had been spotted. The massive metal bird had been tailing the ex-officer for a while now, soaring high against the sky and dipping through low-hanging morning clouds to avoid detection.[break][break]
Ten tilted her head to check over her shoulder after her unreasonably long wait, curious as to what might be down below. Her thumb pressed to set her phone to sleep as she caught sight of the jogging figure below. Rolling over on Skarmory's back she crawled a bit closer to his shoulder, a hand gripping alongside his neck as she leaned a short ways over the edge of his body to confirm her suspicions. Apollo's flight slowed to circle over Ethan's head slowed for a smoke break, Ten easily able to confirm the man's identity from posture alone now that he was still.[break][break]

Without a sound Apollo tilted his body, the wind slipping from under his wing to send him cutting sharply toward the ground. Ten tucked her phone into its holster at her hip as she tightened her fingers at the base of his wing, her opposite arm coming around to hook about his neck as the wind whipped at the dark leather fabric of her suit.[break][break]
His body leveled out abruptly, lifting a short ways as the breeze caught under his steely feathers. With a single, gentle flap of his wings he rose a short ways higher before reaching a bladed foot toward the earth, wings drawing straight behind him as he came to land just a couple of yards from the man enjoying a quiet moment with his cigarette.[break][break]
''Lieutenant Frye.'' The greeting was calm and bland, her voice muffled by the protective material of her brightly colored helmet.[break][break]
''Do you have any plans for today?''[break][break]
Her arm released from its place around Apollo's throat, the rubber soles of her boots sounding against the gravel of the path as she landed against the dirt. Despite the subtle curiosity to her tone, she didn't act to have any intention of leaving.

A second later the wind picked up around him as a pokemon landed near the two. With the gust that came from the steel pokemon’s flap of wing it did manage to blow the cigarette out of his fingers. First of all: rude, and secondly he knew he had that gut feeling someone was following him. Good to know his old instincts haven’t left him, unlike his cigarette… he couldn’t help but grumble to himself as he walked toward the bud to step on it as the person jumped off their Skarmory. [break][break] His body physically stiffened when he heard his old title coming from some stranger’s mouth. Ethan did not like it when people knew his name, and he hated it even more when people knew his old title and used it now despite his no longer being on the force. Oh how he did not like this woman already, thankfully though his glasses did manage to hide any annoyance his eyes had while his mouth remained a stiff line, only mildly curious as to why this woman wanted to know his plans. After the moment of uncomfortableness for him had passed he allowed a simple smile to go on his face. [break][break] “Sorry, I am not the man you’re looking for,” he lied simply, not entirely caring if the woman knew if he were fibbing or not. “Malik,” he called to his pokemon to get his attention doing a quick double whistle as a command, the hound starting to get the hand of which whistles meant what attack and quickly unleashed a flamethrower at the feet of the stranger and her pokemon Ethan wanting to use the distraction in an attempt to get away from the two, knowing by the time the smoke from the attack dissipated naturally he would be gone. [break][break] Ethan looked back hoping that he was far enough away for the woman to get the hint and leave him be. “What a pain,” he grumbled wanting to light another cigarette, and had planned to before Malik barked and tackled himself into his trainer to knocked them both away as there was the sound of an attack came. Could this day get any worse!? He grumbled as he quickly recovered to get himself back up noticing a laughing little cactus pokemon. Oh like hell he was going to let this pass, the morning just started and already he was stalked by some crazy lady and now this cactus that had tried to get a sneak attack on him. Ethan whistled again one long followed by a quick one signaling the fire hound to run at the Cacnea quickly using Fire Fang to attack. The Cacnea cried out in pain as it used its arms to thrash about to get the Houndour to let go of her. [break][break] “Do not let up,” he ordered simply not wanting to show any mercy, the grass pokemon used Growth in an attempt to make herself stronger to counter the fire pokemon, but there was a clear level difference Ethan could tell as once more he whistled twice ordering Malik to use a flamethrower. After complying the Cacnea was down, twitching as it was hanging on just barely, but not for long. Grabbing one of his pokeballs he aimed it at the cactus pokemon in order to capture it. As annoyed as he was with the grass pokemon Ethan did admire it’s attempted at a sneak attack. Oh shit hopefully the battle didn’t make enough noise to get caught by that woman once again. Ten failed to flinch back at the burst of flames from the Houndour's mouth, letting the tongues of fire dance across the treated leather before breaking off into a haze of smoke, clouding the man's method of escape. Her eyes kept forward as she rose her hand a short ways from her side, waving it lightly in a telling gesture to the pokémon standing just behind her.[break][break]
Apollo's wings drew open obediently, drawing back before beating forward with careful precision, using a carefully guided ᴡʜɪʀʟᴡɪɴᴅ to sweep the lingering flames and hanging cloud of smoke away without sending the woman flying in the process. The attack managed to pull the footing of a nearby Sunkern as well, the sudden gale dragging it up from the ground to whisk its body over the path, losing strength just in time to send the small grass type plummeting toward the ground. The pokémon gave a chirp in surprise as its face hit the dirt, it presence ignored entirely by the trainer as she watched after Ethan's figure shrinking toward the distance in escape.[break][break]
Sunkern froze as the woman stepped around it, leaves stiff. Turning its body cautiously it stared toward Ten in fear, though the feeling was quickly replaced with anger as she pointedly ignored its presence, leaning to the ground to gather the crushed cigarette into her fingers.[break][break]
Ruffling the leaves of the sprout atop its head it sank a set of roots to the earth to ɪɴɢʀᴀɪɴ itself, readying for battle. Ten simply rose her hand, back remaining toward the pokémon as she reached her hooked fingers toward the sky.[break][break]
Apollo had taken to following his trainer's example, ignoring the seedling to push from the ground with a knifed foot as he forced his wings down toward the earth, gathering the wind under the steel of his feathers. Sunkern flinched at the sound of the bird taking to the sky, though the Skarmory easily ignored the pokemon to soar a short ways forward to take the grip of his master's hand into his talons, lifting her up from the ground with him.[break][break]

The small grass pokemon's eyes drew wide at the words, the bird glancing casually over its shoulder to ensure its prey was still standing in its place. His wings fell sharply toward the ground, the force behind the strike sending a cutting gust to roll to the ground. The ᴀɪʀ sʟᴀsʜ was all it took to send the Sunkern tumbling back, roots ripped up from the ground as it fell unconscious.[break][break]
It wasn't difficult for Skaromory to catch up to the man, the bird's flight easily faster than the running speed any human could accomplish.[break][break]
Their pace slowed as they caught up, the woman held to hover just above the ground as Skarmory came to a stop nearby, wings beating to keep the pair aloft.[break][break]

With his being followed, then after a damn sneak attack from this damn cactus the man was growing more irritated by the minute. Was a morning jog too much to ask for? Apparently in this world it was, then again it wasn’t like he was always like this. Just a mere two years ago he would have enjoyed the sight of pokemon, would have found the encounter with the Cacnea fun, and joined his partner for the day in the fight. Oh how much has changed in such a short amount of time. Now all he felt was rage, and annoyance when such things happened. Though with his working with pokemon once again he was going to have to get it through that think skull of his that these things were going to happen. [break][break] Though speaking of thick skulls a familiar voice called out in order to catch his attention, the ex-cop grumbling through clenched teeth as he looked up as he glared at the women through his glasses. He was going to reply with a sarcastic remark before the sound of rushing water quickly caught his attention and his instincts forced him to move as a strong bubble passed him and struck an off guard Malik. The woman having distracted the pup from the other pokemon around them. It seemed to Ethan that the so called ‘jolly pokemon’ wasn’t so jolly for its friend having been caught. [break][break] Good his anger needed to be targeted at something, “Let me get back to you,” he growled as his anger for the morning hit his peek as he just stepped forward to the water pokemon not bothering to order Malik to get up as he knew it was a disadvantage as he showed off the pokeball the Cacnea was trapped in, “This is who you want free right?” he questioned the grass pokemon as he held out the pokeball to it. “Go ahead take it,” he offered with a sadistic smile on his face making the Lombre hesitate at first before she came at him. [break][break] Once it made a jump for his pokeball Ethan used his free hand to grab the Lombre’s stupid face before the fighter threw it over his head and slammed the jolly pokemon to the ground. Oh this was therapeutic, and here his old therapist thought he needed a hobby for his anger issues. After slamming it down he gave the off guard pokemon a good kick to get it away from him and toward the woman. “Tell you what lady, get rid of that thing and I might humor you as playing the role of ‘Lieutenant Frye’,” he called out to her finally halfly admitting to his identity. To Ethan the moment he was fired the Lieutenant part of him had died, the man who once sought to protect others and bring justice to the people was gone as far as he was concerned. With that said he put away the pokeball and walked over toward the injured Malik and took out a potion to heal the fire hound. Seeing that the man was in no hurry to run away Ten's fingers relinquished their hold on her Skarmory's talons, boots falling to grit their soles to the trodden dirt road. She had more than enough patience not to argue as he stepped his way toward the angry Lombre, content to watch on in curiosity as he egged the pokémon on.[break][break]
Her eyes followed calmly from the cover of her helmet, Skarmory taking the hint that they may not be moving soon and slowly settling to the earth behind her as the man pitched the wild pokémon toward the ground, its body spiking against the dirt only to be kicked harshly to the side.[break][break]
Ten's hand rose to press a single digit to the mouth of her helmet, head canting slightly as she watched the Lombre's body tumble across the ground, kicking up pebbles and dust in its wake. Frye's instruction was all she needed to act.[break][break]

Apollo's wings sounded with a quiet grate of metal as they spanned open wide at the soft-spoken command, foot kicking up from the ground as he lifted himself to the air with a single powerful thrust of his knived wings. The bird jet forward abruptly as Lombre pushed itself from the the barren earth of the trail, the billed water type leaping into the air as soon as it had regained itself. The wild pokémon was in a furious rush to close the distance between itself and the human that had the nerve to fight back, its arms stretched back in ready of an onslaught of ꜰᴜʀʏ sᴡɪᴘᴇs, unwary of the bird's attack until it crushed the stiff edge of its wing to its torso.[break][break]
The Skarmory's sᴛᴇᴇʟ ᴡɪɴɢ stole the breath from Lombre's lungs, the water type's posture breaking to collapse over the edge of the wing now guiding its trajectory. Apollo sloped against the wind to carry the grass type up into the sky, giving it no chance to continue its fight with Ethan.[break][break]
The helmeted grunt fixed her attention back on the ex-Lieutenant, gaze searching over his posture in thought. She stepped forward quietly now that the threat was gone, though as the man turned to help his Houndour the woman stopped in her tracks.[break][break]

Her distorted voice held a hint of curiosity as she turned her helmet to face the Houndour, ignorant to the soon ending battle overhead.[break][break]
Lombre plummeted from the sky nearby, its back breaking against the ground at the side of the road in a thin cloud of loose dust and a violent wave of tall grass, the rush from its impact sending the thin blades dancing and twisting away from its form. Apollo made his appearance shortly after, waiting against the sky for his next order as he glanced between the figures of the group below.[break][break]
The thin scrapes at his steel feathers hinted that he may have taken a few hits from the pokémon's ғᴜʀʏ sᴡɪᴘᴇs before catching it in the midair with an ᴀɪʀ sʟᴀsʜ - the strong gale from the strike still stirring the broken grass around the unconscious Lombre's body.

Did she want to know who he was because she had a grudge against him? Hell being an officer was pleanty of reason to have enemies when you have put criminals behind bars, and if it were something in his more recent years it could have been a trainer from a pokemon he has killed. Not like he could know considering that he had no face to go off of. Though considering how she seemed to emotionlessly called her order out to finish the other pokemon he doubted that was the case. “You good?” he questioned Malik who just nodded at him before the fire hound glared at the other for now still not trusting the woman. [break][break] As he stood up again when the woman stepped toward him Ethan just pulled out another cigarette from his pocket and lit it up. He took in a drag before releasing a puff of smoke, god he needed that it was still way too early in the morning for this crap. “A Pikachu,” he answered sarcastically when shed asked who his pokemon was, “Though right now I think the important question is who the hell are you?” he demanded as he pointed at her with the butt. “You’ve been following me, you know my name, so I think the favor could be returned on your part,” he finally finished waiting for an answer as he ignored the pokemon around them. If she was so interested in him for now she could deal with it. Ten cut straight to the chase, stepping forward to span the distance between herself and the fellow Virus agent at a comfortable pace as he demanded her name. She came to a stop just in front of him, paying no mind to the warning of his Houndour's growl.[break][break]

The introduction was simple and brief, though some amount of pleasure gave her voice a life it had previously lacked. Her hand rose in a silent offer toward Ethan, ready to clear the ever popular formality of a handshake.[break][break]
''You're with Virus now, aren't you?''[break][break]
The question came with a tilt of her helmet, the incline of her mask dipping down a short ways as she glanced over the man's expression through the filter of her eyelashes - gaze still locked behind the black of her visor.[break][break]
''I wondered if you might help me with something.''[break][break]
Should the shake have been met it was a firm one. The woman was at no lack for confidence. Accepted or otherwise, the hand would eventually find its way to her hip as it rolled smoothly to one side, her weight shifted to rest at the heel of her right foot.[break][break]
Though the defeat of Lombre had sparked the interest of a new opponent nearby, Ten didn't have to worry about the pokémon interrupting their conversation. As Breloom's head popped up to peek its cap over the top of the waving blades of grass Apollo's eyes were already set upon it, watching patiently for the curious grass type to make a move.[break][break]
The Skarmory's head turned as his eyes kept after the wild pokémon as it shuffled forward through the grass, wandering its way toward Lombre's unconscious body to give it curious inspection. Leaning over the fainted pokémon's form Breloom gave careful search of its body, excitement building in the wild grass type as its suspicions were confirmed. Tail bobbing and feet hopping its weight from one foot to the other the Breloom's gaze shot to the nearby Houndour with excitement, eager to pit the supposed victor of Lombre's battle against its own strength.[break][break]
Breloom gave a chirp of greeting toward the group, the sound aimed more for the pokémon than the humans standing just beside it.[break][break]
Ten's eyes kept toward Ethan as Apollo's wings drew themselves back, thrusting forward in a vicious stroke to send a torrent of wind like a blade toward the excitable creature. Breloom's consciousness was stolen with ease in a single, calculated ᴀɪʀ sʟᴀsʜ - the pokémon giving a pained cry as it fell back into the grass.[break][break]
Righting his posture against the wind, wings drawing wide to guide it under his feathers, the Skarmory gave a echoed a loud, metallic cry as he circled the trio from overhead, discouraging any other wild pokémon who might be hungry for battle.[break][break]
The fight, once again, was ignored by the trainer - her full attention devoted to the agent standing in front of her.[break][break]

Her hand moved to collect the phone fastened securely in the holster at her hip, finger pressing to its surface to wake it from its sleep before darting blindly across its surface with swift precision to pull up the desired information. As his posture relaxed her phone was switched off, a brief press of her finger rendering its screen black as she holstered it sightlessly back at her side, the mask shielding her eyes remaining locked toward Ethan. She remained silent as she heard him out, standing motionless as a statue. As simple as his question was, it took her a moment to decide on her answer.[break][break]

She wanted him to teach her how to fight, that was an odd request, which was putting it lightly. The last time person he trained was his son and he wasn't too sure he did a decent job then, why would anyone go to him for lessons he wasn't qualified for teaching.
