than meets the eye."
“Off to route 43 we are!” Sprider said cheerfully to his already-out-of-pokeball Machop. Sprider had the habit to keep his pokemon out of their shell and make them inhale the beauty of the nature. He believed they should be kept out of that small ball. He believes pokeball is just a small device to capture the pokemon but can never become a house to these wild beings. They were born in nature, and so they should be out of those electrical devices. He looked at his machop with excitement who looked back at Sprider, replicating the same expression. So he pulled out another Pokeball and rolled his Charmander out. The fiery little beast roared as soon as it was out. The pokemon trainer trio were on a voyage. The last time they went out together, they caught a torchic on the icy path. How fire pokemon were staying in that frozen place bewildered Sprider. It was then he remembered he had a third pokemon too which he had not used. It was just yesterday when he got one. Since healing it in the pokemon center, it has stayed inside only. How foolish of Sprider to forget there was a being laying trapped in a pokeball for almost over twenty four hours. He quickly reached for the third pokeball which he assumed was empty an hour back. He brought out the pokemon and said “Hello there, little chicken. I want to apologize for making you stay in there for so much time.” He scratched the back of his head with a sorrow face. He watched the little chicken move with it's small legs towards them and pecked him on the legs. Sprider jumped back in a frantic attempt. He was being attacked by his own pokemon. He shook his head as he said “I hope that is all punishment. Nothing more, right?” He watched the torchic move towards it again, but this time it just flapped its small hands. Sprider thought that they have come to good terms. He could only assume it so. He wanted to ask her why she was living in the icy path but he knew he could not get a proper answer from her. Sohe chose silence. He saw the Torchic and Charmander walking together. It was natural for the chick to feel safe with pokemon of same element. The four beings stopped on their track as they looked at the path ahead. Full of grass and empty patches. You never knee when pokemon would stop you on your track. But it was adventurous. Sprider looked at his three pokemon and asked “Are you all ready?” Machop flexed his biceps and roared. Charmander's flame grew bigger and the torchic, she stood unentertained. Maybe Sprider was not of her type. [attr="class","life"] ❝ life is full of little lies and most of them are mine. there are things even my mind can't deny. [attr="class","les"] A ll right it looks like Cody and his gang are going a little bit away from the Ice Path! It’s time to have some fun training in route 43! Although truth is told ever since he caught Fae, he hasn’t had the chance to actually train his Pokemon so he’s a tad bit behind. Seeing how strong Zatka is now made Cody realize this so with that being said it looks like him and his team will be going on a training spree! With his three comrades by his side, the four of them made their way down route 43 ready to get into the action! In the end he needs to get Morgana and Fae up to speed but at the same time Cody realizes he needs to level Palos more. The pup only knows Tackle and Thunderwave so it makes it difficult for him to do any form of training. Cody knows darn well he has to come up with some training method to get the pup rolling then he can easily work on everyone else and besides at least the pup wouldn’t be that scared anymore right? Cody gave a slow nod before gripping his fist! He turned around to stare down at both Morgana and Palos. “Alright you three we’re behind and we need to catch up quickly!” Cody turned his head to Fae who enjoys resting on his shoulder. “Depending on how well it goes today, you all will be able to fight at least one Pokemon! Then we’ll move onto the next route which sadly isn’t the Ice Path as much as I would love to run around in there to take down those fire type Pokemon. I can’t believe there are fire type Pokemon there.” Cody murmured before shaking his head. “You know what fuck it we’re going there right after this. We need to escort those things out of there we must save my summer vacation before it actually becomes summer vacation!” Cody turned around with his hands on his hips. “We can do it you three! Together we shall save the Ice Path!” Oh god not the Ice Path! Palos thought remembering the time they fought that Delibird and how Cody threw him and how he was nearly frozen to death and how they met Morgana. The Ice Path has bad memories this is not okay! On the other hand Morgana seems to be agreeing with Cody for a change. Since the Ice Path is her home, she wants to protect it at all cost! She lifted up her claws in the air cheering with Cody while Fae facepalmed at this ridiculous scene. These two are so similar to each other and yet they don’t even realize it. Sprider looked in front where he could see a girl. Not just a girl but many more pokemon along her. There was a bird pokemon perched on her shoulder. Two more pokemon, one quadruped and one biped standing beside her. Sprider said “Hi?” In an attempt to strike her attention and conversation. He was awkward around girls but he tried his best to improvise, adapt and overcome it. Before he could say anything further, two water pokemon jumped out the small pond nearby. Sprider pulled out his pokedex from the pocket and scanned it randomly on one of the pokemon. It said “Surskit, the pond skater pokemon. It lives in pond and other water bodies where it can interact with other plant lives. When it fears something, a sweet fluid is spit out from.the top of head which will taste great on bread but not for bird pokemon.” Sprider flipped it close and said “Aye. Let me handle it.” He looked at his pokemon and the only suitable one was machop. Sprider said “Are you ready?” The pokemon flexed his muscles to show his determination. Sprider said, “Great. Now hear me. You see that water skater. You need to defeat him. I do not think you can do it easily but i have a plan. Focus your energy and as soon as the process is completed, go rampant on him.” The super power pokemon smashed his fist into his palm and stood calmly in front of Sprider. The water skater looked at it and sent a beam of bubble towards it. Machop was not elementally weak to water, but fighting type moves were weak on water. He needed to make his punch worth because with other two fire pokemon, he did not want to risk their life. Water against fire can be suffer effective. The water bubble beam hit the Machop and he was thrown back a step or two, but with his strong determination, he stood his ground. The water pokemon tried it again. The machop took it against his chest again, but it was time. Before the water pokemon could produce anymore bubbles, Sprider shouted “Karate Chop! Right Now!” The machop charged at the water skater who was not in water but on land could not skate his way out. The Machop bashed a karate chop on its head which saw the water skater lie down. He was knocked out, a critical hit. Sprider said “Well done my boy!” As he flung his arm open for his machop to run to him. [attr="class","les"] S eeing how the team is ready to take on the Ice Path, it looks as if they’re time has come! A wild Pokemon showed up from hiding and Cody couldn’t help but smirk at this water type Pokemon! Maybe this will help Palos learn an electric move! The poor pup only knows two moves and so he has a difficulty time battling in general. This will be a great opportunity for him to level up and to possibly gain a new move or two. Deciding to go with that, Cody turned his head to his partner giving a slow nod. “You got this one Palos!”Wait a minute what did he mean he got this? Palos was worried as fuck shivering as always and within seconds was about to make a break for it however Cody’s team wasn’t going to let that slide. Morgan and Fae blocked the pups escape plan causing the Pup to whine at this scene. Cody petted Palos on the head trying to calm the pup down. “It’s okay Palos I’ll be here to help you out. We’re going to level you up so we can teach you an electric move okay? We’ll get there I promise you that!” Cody tried his hardest to encourage the little pup. “I just need you to trust me on this one. We should be able to take down a Psyduck I mean look at it that thing looks confused as fuck!”Palos turned his head to the Psyduck who had tilted his head to the right as if it looked confused about the situation. The Electrike gave a slow nod before slowly crawling over to the duck like creature. “Try using THUDNER WAVE that should help us out a bit!” Palos would hesitate for a bit before shooting out electric waves straight at the duck. The duck was paralyzed making Cody to nod his head for an approval. “Great job now let’s use TACKLE!” The cop called out the next move making Palos hesitate once more before rushing forward to slam right into the ducks stomach! “See Palos it’s not that bad!” He would say while Morgana and Fae tried there hardest to cheer him on. The pup on the other hand would wag his tail before jumping around with excitement however the Psyduck on the other hand wasn’t going to let that slide. It shook its head trying to break free from being paralyzed before rushing forward to use SCRATCH! Palos had no time to dodge the attack so its claws hit him! The pup was about to make a break for It but Cody kept cheering him on. “That scratch is nothing! Show it how fast you using your parkour skills! Keep spamming TAKCLE!”He wants him to do TACKLE again? Palos gulped at the thought of that however when he mentioned parkour his tail started wagging as if the cop triggered something! The Psyduck shot water straight towards the pup but this time the pup was ready for it! The pup rushed over to a tree with the water chasing after him. He bounced himself off the tree to dodge the attack and then rushed forward to slam right into its stomach using another TACKLE! He would land on his feet and was about to prepare for another SCRATCH but that was when the THUDNERWAVE kicked in! The Psyduck was paralyzed! Palos used this opportunity to ram right into the Psyduck once more knocking it out! Palos slowly lifted up his eye to see what happened and once he realized the result, the pup rushed into Cody’s arms! “I knew you could do it buddy great job! The girl next to Sprider used her quadruped pokemon to defeat the duck like pokemon. Sprider looked at her and said “Wow. That was some nice fight. And Palos is pleasant to the ears. Unless the nicknames i set.” he expected his pokemon to roll their eyes, but he did it himself. He named the Charmander as the Fiery Charmeleon, the machop as the Flexing Man and the torchic? Well she is just a torchic unaffected by Sprider. Either she needs to learn to get along with Sprider or he will have to trade her to some other trainer she would love to be around. Two pokemon again disturbed the silence of the environment by jumping in from the bushes around. One sat with its butt on the ground. The other were a group of excited eggs. Sprider asked the lady near here “Do you by any means need that sitting pokemon?” Sprider would pull out his pokedex and scan it. The pokedex would say “Abra, the Psi pokemon. The Pokemon sleeps for most part of the day, but beware, it can read minds even when its asleep. So if it smells danger, it would opt out. Sprider would say “Okay then, this looks like would take brain over brawl. Machop you do not have much to do. So just stand there. Do not intimidate it.” Sprider would slowly walk towards it with mind that only thought of how cute that little pokemon was. Sprider asked “Hello?” The Abra opened his eyes and then closed it. He was not interested into anything. With closed eyes, it moved its head around. Its head fixated towards the group of eggs. Suddenly it's eyes opened in shock like it expected some danger. Sprider saw the exeggcute. The exeggcute must have thought the abra to be Sprider's pokemon and so it sent a volley of tackles at it. It was barrage actually. Sprider jumped in between the two pokemon quickly and took three hits by the individual egg pokemon. Sprider could feel pain in his body but he stood strong. It looked like the abra did not know any attack because all the time it sat behind. Sprider looked at the girl and shouted “Can you help me please. Take down those eggs.” Sprider would flip and look at the abra who had his eyes opened. It must have felt something towards Sprider. Oh dear lordy this isn’t good not at all! Palos rushed behind his trainer’s side shivering as always causing Cody and the rest of his team to sigh underneath their breath. “Oh Palos lighten up already he was just giving you a compliment that’s all!” Man Palos needs to break out of this being shy crap maybe he should ask some advice about this because he’s out of options for sure! Cody shook his head before giving a slow nod to Sprider. “Thanks he’s still learning so it was a good matchup for him.” The cop would say. It looks like his conversation will have to be put on hold again since two Pokemon decided to show up to ruin the party and one of them happens to be an Abra. “An Abra that one is tempting. I heard Alakazms are fast as fuck!” Cody mumbled underneath his breath before shaking his head. “But I came here to train so you can take that one. It gives me some time to figure out if I want to catch one or not for the near future. Their speed stats are quite remarkable and will be a great asset to the team.”It looks like this guy was going to try to befriend an Abra nice thinking but it looks like they’re going to need help that’s for sure. When the trainer asked him for help, Cody looked down at his Sneasel giving a slow nod. “You have 50 seconds to defeat that Exeggcute.” Morgana snickered before unleashing her claws. She dashed behind the Exeggcute to use her favorite move PUNISHMENT! That move was super effective and dealt a lot of damage and the eggs knew instantly it was going to be a tough opponent. Even though this was the case it’s not going to let it win! The eggs Pokemon tried to use HYPNOSIS but Morgana wasn’t going to let that happen! She snickered again after jumping into the air, did a little twirl to dodge the attack and then shot down her other favorite move ICY WIND! [attr="class","les"] L ooks like this guy caught the Abra good for him now it made him wonder if he should catch one for himself! He knows those things are fast that’s a given but does it fit his personality that’s the problem. Well he could catch one later on and see for himself but if he has a difficulty time training one he can always trade for another Pokemon. Perhaps he should give it a try after this little training adventure. However it looks as if his training was caught off since a Spoink appeared out of nowhere and was ready to attack with PSYWAVE! Cody turned his head to Fae but it looks like his bird Pokemon was already making its move! It quickly dodges the attack using QUICK ATTACK then came right at it using PECK! The Spoink jumped back and tried to use PSYWAVE once more but since the bird was in close rage she ended up getting hit by the attack! She flew backwards but kept herself from slamming into a tree. She shook her head puffed up her cheeks and she used another QUICK ATTACK but this time she slammed right into the Spoink instead! After hitting the jumping ping, the bird would fly high in the air encase it tried to use PSYWAVE again but this time it used ODOR SLEUTH. Well that was a silly move to make the bird thought as she quickly came down again activating her move QUICK ATTACK however this time the Spoink jumped into the air to dodge it causing the bird to fly back up into the air. She activated her move FOCUS ENERGY before diving down onto the jumping pig using her move PECK and this time it hit! The cop was amazed at how well Fae was doing against this Spoink even without commanding his own Pokemon. There might be times he’ll have to do that so he’ll keep it noted that’s for sure. However it looks like his bird might need help since it tried to use PSYWAVE again and it was ganging up on her speed. “Do a spin with your QUICK ATTACK then go in with PECK!” Oh nice thinking Fae thought by swirling around to dodge the PSYWAVE then dove right at it again with PECK! Thanks to her speed the pig had no chance to dodge the attack and it ended up passing out! Cody walked up giving a bird a wing five! “Good job Fae I’m so proud of you. You did a great job handling on your own at first but I love the fact you saw it coming miles away before I had the chance to say anything. I’m very proud of you.” Fae lifted up her chest after responding to his high five but it seems as if her trainer has forgotten to time her this time. Sprider was happy with his Abra caught in the ball. He picked the ball up and put it on his pokebelt. He was satisfied with his capture. He knew he could not have captured it with might, and hence the involvement of the exeggcute was necessary. Abra needed some trust from Sprider and it provided it. Sprider looked at his machop and said “Thank you for staying patient. Looks like you have got yourselves a new friend.” He would look at the person nearby. She would be fighting the spring like pokemon. Sprider would be in awe on how greatly she would be utilizing her flying pokemon’s strength. Her pokemon are so quick, dang. Sprider would approach her and say “Wow, that was good. Are you pokemon female too?” With a doubt in mind, because of her voice would not be feminine. Maybe it is a trans or maybe not. It was better not to have any preconception. Cody was a bit confused by this man’s expression regarding to his Pokemon being females as well. He would look down at his Pokemon then back at the trainer before tilting his head to the right confused as fuck. “Morgana and Fae are the only females here.” He would say while pointing his finger to his Sneasel then to his Taillow who rested peacefully on his shoulder. On the other hand it seemed as if Morgana was able to figure out exactly what this guy was talking about. The Sneasel placed her hands on her stomach laughing her head off! Cody looked her confused as he watched his Sneasel rolling on the ground laughing as if she was hit by some laughing gas of some sort. “What the hell is wrong with you?” Morgana looked up at her trainer then back at Sprider before laughing once more! Cody puffed his cheeks while crossing his arms confused about the situation. “What’s her deal I don’t understand why she’s laughing at me?” Does it have to deal with that weird question this man asked him earlier? The cop looked back at Sprider for a bit however he couldn’t figure out what the issue is here. “Um please ignore her I don’t know what her issue is.” Cody sighed while scratching his head. “Thanks for the compliment I’m working on a fast team at the moment but it’s going to take some time to get there.” He confessed since he seems rather slow with his training at the moment. Sprider was amazed at what all happened. It was a he. The person named Cody who he mistook for a female trainer was actually a he. He put a palm up his face in embarrassment. The looks were deceiving, a bit. Sprider said “Yes the abra’s are fast, i have heard.” He hid the fact that he had wrong preconceptions about him. He felt so ashamed of himself. But he could not stop himself. He said “I am sorry. I actually mistook you for a she instead of a he.” He buried his face in his hands in embarrassment. How bad were his guessing skills. He said “I mean your haircut gave a bit of feminine feeling which made me think like that. I am sorry, sir. Really sorry for it.” His face reflected his words. He was being honest. The hair were the reason. He said “Maybe your pokemon has learned of it. Maybe that was why she was laughing.” He then regretted calling the sneasel a she. Maybe it was a he too? He did mot know its name and Cody did mention two of his pokemon being a she. Damn it, why the day had to be so long. He remembered that he didn't introduce himself properly. He said “Sorry for not introducing at the earliest. I am Sprider Hawk from Goldenrod City. It is nice to meet you.” He spoke with formalities. Why does this bring back memories of his brother picking on him for his girly looks? Cody shook his head placing his hands on his hips and giving off a long drastic sigh. He gets it he may look a little feminine but he could’ve sworn working out in the police force would’ve helped him out least! He may not have abs but his body is a little well fit and at least his voice sounds manly… well does it? Cody twitched his eyes at Morgana and would turn his head to Fae pointing his finger towards his Pokemon. “You know what to do!” Fae smirked before flapping it’s wings and diving down right at the Sneasel pecking it on the head like she always does! Sprider had to process so much information. He was a male was the easiest of all. His brother used to pick him about stuff was the second most. And then came then came the name train. Sprider could remember the initials. M, the sneasel, F, the tailow and P, the electrike. He asked about his future team. He said “Well i happen to have a charmander, a machop and this torchic. Everyone likes being with me except this chick so i might give it off to somebody else. Also the abra would be a great addition to my team. Fire, fight and psychic. Seems good to me. Also you have a good combination too. Ice, Electric and then flying. I wish i had an electric too.” He really wished he had one. He also added “About my hometown, yeah.
