[attr="class","dfbox"] "ah?! what the hell are y--togepi...?" halting mid-sentence, mateo was in distraught. the togepi he'd just stumbled upon look to have been in a bed mood. marching right past the trainer as if it didn't have any time in the world to deal with he, his eevee, or their shenanigans as a whole. eevee and mateo stared at one another, only to follow the togepi as it continued to march not what would deem to be a cute face, but one showered with anger. "what do you think's wrong with it?!" eevee, too, would ask his trainer the same question upon yelping his own name. "let's follow it!"

and as they watched--horribly hiding--in their wake of tailing the togepi. it would eventually halt only to grant not just one, but both a glaring gaze. as mateo tried to hide behind a tree, their positioning had been given away thanks to eevee's tail. "when we get home, i'm cutting your tail off, pride; it's all going out of the window, idjit!" he screamed, eevee replying with plea. but amongst the duo's argument, the togepi would waltz around the tree to grant both of them an glaring stare. "w-what? why're you so angry half-pint?" mateo bluntly stated. the togepi, without hesitation, began to spiel out its thoughts. reciting its name and using gestures to help understand the situation. the togepi, without stopping once, relentless laid it on mateo and his eevee all in one on why it was so angry. with mateo being unable to understand it at this time, he watched as eevee expressed sorrow and heartbreak.

"ah? i don't get it." mateo stated nonchalantly. scratching the back of his head upon waiting for the togepi's spiel to end, as well as eevee who began to entertain the pokemon. "i don't get why you're so upset, but whatever the issue is. you shouldn't let it bother you y'know. you're acting like a jealous girlfriend who didn't get picked to go somewhere." eevee and togepi, then, stared in awe that mateo understood the entire situation--to some degree, but the gist was that the togepi's friends from the safari were all getting captured; whereas, he, was not.

the togepi, too, wanted to leave this place just like any other pokemon traveling about. "what? is that it? was that the problem?" the togepi began to spiel again, waving arms gesturing how surprised it was that the human male understood its situation. "i mean, if it makes you feel better, i'd pick you over anything right now. i can't find jack sh--woah?!" the togepi would come to ram itself into mateo's right leg. clinging for the trainer to escort him out of this place. "w-w-w-w-wait, i can't take you out of this hellhole! do you even know who i am?!" the togepi didn't care not nay one bit. it just wanted to get out of this place and was willing to do anything! "okay, hear me out, say i do take you out of this place. what can you offer me?" he asked the togepi. without a moments notice, the togepi gave him a frightening stare. as if he were trying to shank someone down for money.

"you got a nice look about you, y'know...i could use a partner in crime. i actually don't know what type of pokemon you are, but you got the personality and aura of a dragon that's for sure!" mateo exclaimed excitedly. extending his right hand out, he'd then say, "if you want you can tag-along with me for the day buddy! we're actually here looking for a dragon, but i'm not getting the scent from you--but if you want, you're welcome to tag along with us?! whatta ya say?!" mateo asked, eyes overflowing with hearts for the tough-faced pokemon.

[attr="class","dfbox"] "welcome home, buddy; now let's get a move on!" with togepi attached to mateo's head. eevee, taking the lead, would come to lead the duo into an enemy they both hadn't expected to meet: joltik. a joltik, scuttling about upon tree, came to extract web from its rectum. a web was then seen hung from a tree branch, the joltik, using said web, had then made its way to the ground. "oh, i've heard of those pokemon. they're actually pretty cool looking--let's catch it!" and it was then that he decided the electric bug would be coming with him. though it wasn't a dragon, it was exactly what he could use upon his team. "come to papa!" he exclaimed with a terror of joy. "eevee, time to eat! let's dig in with trump card!" with a creation of six, crimson-colored plates that were made out of pure and raw energy. the eevee would send his creations directly toward the bug by surprise.

unexpected, three would come to fly over the tiny spider's head. another, too, flew by; whereas for the other two, they would come to land successfully! "nice job, let's hit it with some swift next!" but before eevee could make another move. the joltik began to emit an unfamiliar wave of sound that practically caused not just eevee, but all within the vicinity to cover their ears due to the intense pain. "d-dammit, this hurts!" mateo commented, teeth grit. "let's shake it off, let me hear you roar with swift eevee!" and with a mighty battle cry. eevee began to hurl, with a swipe of its tail, several shining stars made their way toward the buzzing joltik. and with a blunt, direct attack. the force of their impact would come to weaken the joltik greatly.

"normally, i'd beat the ever loving crap out of the pokemon that interest me. but you're not that strong yet, plus you're pretty small. so, if you don't mind, get in this ball for me idjit!" throwing an empty capsule toward the spider. the ball would come to bounce off of its head. a red beam absorbing the creature at the exact chance it got. the ball, right after, fell to the ground and gently rolled about. "and now let's see if he's willing to come quietly." mateo pondered.

[attr="class","dfbox"] "schweet got ourselves a joltik!" picking up the pokeball. he'd shift the size of the joltik's pokemon to that of a capsule. placing the ball upon his unique pokeball bracelet holder. "welcome to the team, jo---eh?" he smelled something. this was the scent, a scent he's been in search since he entered the safari. "there!" he exclaimed pointing toward a dark cavern not too far from his position. "it's in there..." eevee followed its trainer in pursuit of what they believed for the creature to have been. it was the scent of none other than a noibat. a creature they'd been in search of since their arrival. "it's here, the dragon's in here!" with togepi and eevee on one side. mateo, with a deep inhale, then said, "osir proach en trancalm!"

it was all but silence. no response, nothing. just the cave emitting a windy echo. though, deep within, something began to stir. it wasn't until, with just a mere squint, crescent sickles of wind came hurling toward mateo and friends. a quick fall back upon his bottom from the surprise. mateo, having lost his breath for a moment, gathered himself. "what the hell is your problem?!" he began to exclaim. the pokemon, lingering within the cave, would not give the male any satisfaction of entering.

"that's it, if he doesn't wanna come out. then we're going in, togepi--stand guard and don't allow anyone else to enter!" togepi, adorning what mateo calls a "yakuza smile," the togepi made sure nobody got past this little fairy-type. and while standing guard, mateo and eevee ventured inside. "alright, that noibat's here somewhere." examining the area. he wondered just where in the hell was it. it was so dark that he could barely see anything. "oh wait, come out--wrath the charmander!" utilizing charmander's flame to brighten the cave. charmander merrily took the lead as she skipped about. eevee, following behind, would come to yelp at the sight of an unknown enemy.

"what is--...this smell, it's the..." looking up, he'd come to see that it was none other than, "noibat! awe hell yeah, i knew you were here!" with a bloodcurdling scream. mateo released a victory roar, yelling at the top of his lungs only to anger the noibat even further. he was loud and this fierce creature wanted nothing more than peace and quiet. sadly, he wasn't gonna get that today. "eevee, light this cave up with some starlight: swift!" eevee, with the swipe of his tail, released a wave of stars which hurdled toward the noibat. the noibat, maneuvering with agile and grace, was untouched. "little slippery guy, ah?! let's eat'em eevee, trump card!?" six, red plates of energy--each a different shape--illuminated the cave with a bright red glow. "let'em have it!" eevee, one by one, released each plate. eventually, dodging one after another, the noibat would come to be caught off guard by the last plate.

with a successful hit as the noibat befell. mateo, running toward the dragon-type, would toss an empty pokeball directly at the noibat. "time to come home!" as the ball would bounce directly off of the pokemon's head. mateo would watch a stream of crimson energy absorb the noibat within. watching intently, he wondered if the pokemon would give in and stay inside.
