Gabriel had taken a day off to be able to come to the beach without being bothered by all the nonsense these people got into. It wasn't his fault a wild pokemon hurt their reckless kids when they did some dumb shit in the water, or swam out too far. The sort of thing happened way too often, and Gabe himself was beginning to think it was a lack of good parenting. With all the other authorities and those they could hold accountable, it was as if they literally didn't give a fuck to tell their kid that there were things in the water that could kill them.

But instead of worrying about all that crap, Gabriel began unpacking all of this things. He'd brought a chair, his trusty fishing rod, and a cooler full of some malts and brews in case the day dragged on. Fastening his pokeball-based lure onto the end of the line, he walked out into the water waist-high before reeling back with the weighted lure and snapping it forward. It wasn't a record cast, but who was really keeping track? It was probably more than ten meters out there as he began to slowly real it in, tapping the line feeding into his reel to cause a bobbing motion on the water's surface...

Meanwhile his Corphish, who had been tagging along just behind him, had set out into the water in order to lurk in the shallows for unsuspecting prey. He was a real devil, that one, and Gabriel couldn't help but love him for it. He'd seen the man through worse days yet.
