A gym leader's job was never done. People often seemed to think that all they did was sit in the gym and pass the time while they waited for a challenger to waltz up and challenge them for a badge. In reality at true gym leader served as a pillar for the community, someone who would always be there for the people in times of need. They were respected as talented and knowledgeable trainers that would never back down from a challenge, no matter how dangerous it may be. While Ania wasn't too interested in putting herself in harm's way, she knew that there was every chance her newly acquired position would make that a possibility.
Luckily things weren't too serious today. The recent migration had brought about a change in the ecosystem, the area seeming to have been taken over by overzealous bug type pokemon. So it fell to her to investigate and maybe thin out the swarm a bit to help maintain a proper balance. The area was lush and full of life, which allowed the bug types to thrive just a bit too much. It seemed that a lot of squeamish civilians were fed up with it as well, meaning doing this would also take care of a few irritatingly loud complaints she had been hearing quite a bit recently.
As usual the woman was dressed in clothing that wasn't quite appropriate for such outdoorsy activities, dressed in a long violet colored dress. it wasn't as adorned as he usual clothing, though the material was still of fine quality. Though she did chose to abandon her high heels and earrings today, which as close to travel wear as she was willing to go. In her arms she held a smiling budew that was ready to face the world at large. A soft hand moved to caress her dainty little pokemon, a very faint smile forming across her red stained lips. "These bugs are going to be difficult for you to handle. But I need you to try your best, ok?"
Ciren wiggled happily in her arms, prompting a soft laugh from her trainer. It was nice to be alone with her pokemon, as it allowed her to drop the pretense and just enjoy some time with her team. Though the sound of nearby footsteps caused her expression to immediately harden, a her cheeks turning warm as a light red tint rose to their surface. She quickly turned toward the source of the sound, her hair twirling behind her head as she moved. "Who goes there!?"
