 | Oswald’s newest addition to his team was a Noibat that he had encountered in the Safari, was admitely a bit rough around the edges and wasn’t used to the whole team thing. It wasn’t something that Oswald was unfamiliar dealing with, there were some Pokémon like that when he was working with his parents.
It was all about building trust and communication but that was a bit difficult. It wasn’t as if the Noibat was incredibly standoffish, no, she just a terrible habit of doing things on her own. The Pokémon was used to battle but that could lead to problems.
That was what today was about! The goal today was bout building up Noibat’s teamwork so they wouldn’t have to run into this problem anymore, and to whip some of his other Pokémon into shape. The one thing he has noticed about the Noibat is she seems especially protective of him, which he finds cute but potentially dangerous as hell as the dragon type doesn’t really care who it is as she’ll attack anyone.
He’d have to work on that, last thing they need is for her to attack some innocent bystander and someone gets hurt….and Oswald then gets sued.
He knew that Noibats were suckers for ripe fruit but he hadn’t expected this response from Siren. ”Man, you really love these things.” Oz chuckled at how eagerly the Noibat ate the fruit that was in his hand. He hadn’t thought about it before but maybe she wasn’t used to eating like this, perhaps there wasn’t much fruit.
The thought saddened him a bit but the happy face of the Noibat cheered him right back up, putting those thoughts aside for the time being. Once she was done they’d start their training that was much overdo at this point.

There were embers floating in the breeze, high above their heads from a previous move. "Jump up, just like we practiced!" The Flame Wheel suddenly jolted up and was surrounded by the embers. They were beginning to rotate around the Ponyta's engulfed body, almost like a little fire galaxy. "And... now!"[break][break] Finally the Ponyta broke free, and with the flourish of her Flame Wheel, the rest of the embers suddenly burst into bright orange flames. It looked like a whirlpool of fire, turning slowly in the air with the Ponyta in the middle. Slowly it extinguished, and Della landed on her hooves, head high and breathing quite heavily. The air was hot and humid now, but other than that, everything returned to normal.[break][break] "That was beautiful, Della!" Vannah shouted, rushing forward and hugging her Ponyta around her neck. "That was fantastic! I knew all that training would be worth it!" Della, who was clearly a little out of breath, nuzzled her trainer fondly. "We're gonna blow them away during our first contest, you'll see!"[break][break] The two cuddled and hugged for a bit, with Vannah excitedly telling her pokemon about how much they'll accomplish once they get to start competing in contests. Their training was done for today, for the most part. Vannah pulled out a water bottle and drank some before offering it to her pokemon, who excitedly accepted. They were refreshed now, and a little more rested, so they both stood and started heading farther down the route and back to Enju City.[break][break] On their way, Vannah spotted what looked like another trainer. And they had a Noibat! How cute! Vannah was in such a good mood, she decided to approach them.[break][break] "Hey, nice Noibat! She's adorable!" Vannah stopped a few feet away to give the other trainer some space. Della, for whatever reason, took a few steps in front of her trainer as if to protect her. Vannah didn't really notice. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Vannah and this is Della. Sorry to bother you, I just thought I'd say hi!" Vannah smiled brightly at the trainer, not a care in the world. | The sound of someone approaching the two almost made Oswald jump out of his skin. Siren had already been a bit on edge and the arrival of someone new, and especially someone new with a Pokémon that was also on edge did not help.
He’d have to keep the Noibat preoccupied as to not anger her; a fight breaking out was not good. It was a shame, if Siren was milder mannered then he’d love for this girl to get closer and really meet the Noibat but that wasn’t going to be happening today. It was much better this way.
Before Siren could get to riled up and possibly attack the girl and her Ponyta, Oswald had offered the bat like dragon type another piece of the fruit it was enjoying so much. After seeing that she was distracted with the fruit, eating away at it, had Oswald let out a deep sigh of relief before turning to the two, smiling brightly at them.
”She’s adorable alright but be careful! This little one packs more of a bite than you’d expect!” He laughed, in the back of his mind he felt it was a bit silly how the only thing keeping things from going south was a piece of fruit.
”Oh please! A bother?! A cutie like you ain’t bothering no one.” Oswald waved, shooing the very thought of her being a bother. ”Name’s Oswald Ramon, it’s a pleasure.” Siren eyed the trainer and her Pontya up and down, gauging if they’d be worth the trouble fighting.
To be blunt, she wasn’t impressed and went back to focusing on the delicious treat her trainer and given her. She seemed to be calming down, which was a relief but it seems this little encounter had gotten the attention of a few Pokémon passing by.
A Poliwag and a Lotad, nothing too serious but both seemed much too weak for Siren to take on so Oswald released his Eevee. ”Seems like these guys aren’t too keen on us being here.” The Poliwag in particular was coming toward Oswald and Merlin.
”Quick Attack.” And with the order said the Eevee blitzed toward the Poliwag, tackling into it and knocking it off its feet. The Poliwag rolled across the ground, skidding to a halt before kicking back up. Now angry, the tadpole fired off a Water Gun attack which made Merlin more upset than it did damage.
The Eevee retaliated with a Swift Attack which put the Poliwag down. ”Not much of a challenge huh?” Oswald shrugged, laughing a bit as Merlin shook himself to dry off. The Eevee gave him a bit of an annoyed look, he didn’t enjoy getting wet. Merlin was particular about his look and having anything mess with his fur was a no, no.
Oswald shook his head, the Eevee could be such a diva at times it was kind of funny. When it didn’t get in the way of anything else of course, which would happen on occasion. The trainer had also been keeping an on his new cute friend and her battle.

| [attr="class","niknik2"] After Vannah approached, the trainer offered his Noibat more fruit to keep it occupied. Vannah was glad she kept her distance from the pokemon out of respect, since she didn't know if she would have been attacked had she come any closer. Luckily having respect for the Noibat and also being offered some fruit kept the pokemon occupied, and Vannah and her Ponyta didn't seem like much of a threat anymore. Della still kept her eyes stubbornly peeled on the bat, though.[break][break] "You're too nice," Vannah laughed quietly, relaxing a little where she stood. This guy seemed pretty cool — so far everyone in Johto seemed extraordinarily nice. Maybe she was just getting lucky. "I'm Savannah Becker, I just came here from Hoenn. You can call me Vannah, most people do." Vannah pulled out a hand to shake with Oswald, but was cut short by two pokemon crashing the party.[break][break] Oswald released an Eevee from it's pokeball and took down a Poliwag like it was nothing. He was definitely a little more experienced here than she was, but that didn't matter. Della could wipe the floor with the Lotad despite the type disadvantage.[break][break] "Della, use TACKLE!" Vannah said, but Della was already a step ahead. The Ponyta had shot forward with dazzling speed, knocking right into the side of the Lotad and seemingly catching it by surprise. "Now, use Ember!"[break][break] Della hit the Lotad with a double whammy. Her EMBER hit it easily in such close corners, but because of it's water type, it wasn't as effective as they would have liked. Della dashed back to put some space between her and her opponent, antsy and scuffing her hooves on the dirt. The Lotad gathered itself enough to use ABSORB — but it barely did anything. If Della could have smirked, she would have.[break][break] "Finish it off, girl." Della didn't need Vannah's command to take control again. The Ponyta TACKLED the Lotad again, knocking it out. Vannah hoped the display wasn't too novice to Oswald and his pokemon, but felt confident about their performance. "Looks like we're a little popular around here. D'you think more will show up, or d'you think that's it?" Vannah asked her new friend curiously. Typically when a couple pokemon showed up on a Route, more followed in suite.  | Oswald made sure to pay attention to how Vannah was doing, she did seem pretty new to all of this. But she did pretty well all things considered. ”It’s a pleasure to meet you Vannah. I’m from Kalos myself.” Oswald explained, flashing her a bright smile. There were a lot of people from all over the place in Johto but that wasn’t surprising.
The region was definitely booming when it came to tourism. Everyone wanted to see all the crazy things that were happening here, and especially with the Pokémon. Hell, it was main reason why Oswald was here himself.
”More will definitely show up, that’s for sure.” Oswald answered, shaking his head at the thought. ”Around here you can definitely expect that after taking down one, fifty more always pop up.” He was of course exaggerating but it definitely felt like that from time to time. And right on cue a few more Pokémon decided to show up, a Wailmer and a Hoppip.
They didn’t seem all that impressive and any of his Pokémon could really take care of them. Oswald returned his Eevee, pondering which Pokémon he should use to combat the two new wild Pokémon.
Before he could make a decision his Drilbur popped from her capsule, demanding for battle. ”Now I’d love for you to fight and everything but it’s like you have a great type advantage against either of these two.” And his words fell on deaf ears as his Drilbur went off and charged at the Wailmer, using Drill Run as it got closer.
”Alright fine, don’t listen to me! It’s whatever! Not like I know what I’m talking about or anything.” Oswald shrugged, laughing a bit to himself at his little outburst at the Drilbur’s blatant disobedience.
The attack did a pretty decent amount of damage; the Wailmer was barely hanging on to consciousness. The water type fought back with a Water Gun and while it was quite effective it was ultimately a pointless effort as the Drilbur it attacked powered through it and struck the Pokémon with another powerful Drill Run and ultimately ended the fight.
”Well I guess that’s, that.” It wasn’t much of a fight and honestly Oswald felt a little bad for the whale Pokémon. There wasn’t much else he could do about it so he recorded the encounter and checked on Vannah, pretty sure she had to also be having a pretty easy time. ”How we doing over here?”

And, like Oswald had said, more pokemon did appear. Did all the pokemon work here in groups? Regardless, this time Della actually had a type advantage.[break][break] Luckily Oswald's pokemon took to the Wailmer, the water type out of the two. That left Della the Hoppip, who more than likely wouldn't last very long in battle. The floating pink pokemon dashed forward and into Della's side with a TACKLE attack, but Della held her ground and glared at it in return. The Hoppip seemed to realize that it was at a disadvantage, and almost looked like it was about to flee. But they weren't gonna let that happen.[break][break] "Della, use EMBER!" Vannah called. The Ponyta threw bright snippets of flames towards the Hoppip, who after taking a few rough blows fell slowly to the ground. Della was quick, and was by the Hoppip's side in a moment's notice.[break][break] The opponent attempted to SPLASH away, but got nowhere. There was fear and disappointment in it's eyes. It knew it shouldn't have approached the fire type with such confidence. Vannah was about to call out another demand, but Della was too quick. The Ponyta reared before STOMPING on it's opponent, displaying a move she must have just learned. When she trotted away, the Hoppip was left fainted.[break][break] Vannah was impressed. She greeted her pokemon with a big hug, rubbing Della affectionately between the ears. The horse pokemon whinnied gleefully, happy with her performance. Oswald had already finished his battle a couple minutes ago, but Vannah didn't mind that it was taking them a little bit longer to finish battles when it meant her pokemon was growing so much.[break][break] "We're doing just fine, aren't we girl?" Vannah said while Della reared again with joy. "Sorry we're so slow, Della's still learning the ropes. She's getting better with every battle though, aren't you?" Vannah started scratching the Ponyta's shoulder, treating her like a big fluffy teddy bear. "You'll be a Rapidash in no time!"[break][break] OPPONENT FAINTED[break]
